In March of 2011 Senator Chuck Schumer posted the following announcement:

Today, U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer joined Remington officials and plant employees to announce that Bushmaster Firearms is relocating a manufacturing facility from Windham, Maine to Ilion, NY, bringing over forty new jobs to Central New York in the process.   Schumer has been a long-time supporter of manufacturing at the Remington plant, urging top Army officials to open up competition for the Army’s small arms contracts to other U.S. manufacturers and domestic producers across the country like the Ilion, New York-based Remington. Today, Schumer applauded Remington’s decision to add new jobs to the productive and capable work force already making the factory an economic powerhouse in the Mohawk Valley.

What a great day for Remington’s Ilion plant, the Mohawk Valley, and Central New York’s economy,” said Senator Schumer. “Thanks to Remington’s continued confidence in this capable workforce, we’re going to see even more good-paying jobs at the plant, creating positive ripple effects throughout the region. Pantsuits: “We Have To Rein In” The Second Amendment….

A position 180° away from those who think it’s about time to expand the application of 2nd amendment back toward the actual intent of protected firearm ownership.

Hillary ShrillaryNATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — Hillary Clinton on Tuesday offered her most detailed comments on domestic policy in months, calling for tighter gun restrictions while also going to bat for Obamacare and warning that rising economic inequality is contributing to “social collapse.”

As to whether she’ll run for the White House, however, Clinton said she’s still mulling it because there’s “a cost to everything.”

The former secretary of state, who would be the Democratic frontrunner in 2016 should she run, was delivering the keynote address at a conference held by the National Council for Behavioral Health, an organization that focuses on mental health.

“We have to rein in what has become [an] almost article of faith, that anybody can own a gun anywhere, anytime. And I don’t believe that,” she said.

New York Gun Owners Protest Registrations, "Safe Act" – South Carolina Gun Stores Visited By FBI Looking For People "Talking About Big Government"…

gun controlBUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Gun owners and Second Amendment rights advocates gathered in downtown Buffalo’s Niagara Square Tuesday afternoon to protest the NY SAFE Act by shredding gun registration forms.
April 15, 2014 marks the deadline for when people who owned assault weapons prior to the passage of the SAFE Act were supposed to register them with New York State.
The SAFE Act redefines an “assault weapon” as almost any semi-automatic weapon with a “military-style feature,” including a telescoping stock, long guns with a pistol grip, or the ability to hold a detachable magazine.
Those types of guns can no longer be bought and sold in New York, but people who already owned them are “grandfathered” in to the law, so long as they register the weapon or have the guns permanently modified so that the “military” features are inoperable.  (read more)

Home Invader Confronted by Armed Family – Thug Leaves Feet First Weighing a Few Ounces More…

FLORIDA – […] When Mitchell Large broke into a Winter Haven home Monday morning, he was met by three family members — all packing heat, according to MyFoxOrlando13.

Dad fired off a warning shot, which the intruder ignored. When Large continued into the kitchen, mom and son opened up, killing him.
“It’s not a very far reach to assume that if someone’s forcing their way into your residence early in the morning, they’re not there to wish you well,” Police Chief Gary Hester said. “That’s your castle that a reported intruder is coming into, so whether he was armed or not armed, when he failed to retreat, they certainly had a right — if it turns out this way — would have a right to defend themselves.” (continue reading)

Recap: The wave of homegrown violence against the US military isn't new, and it's always been from the Left

The AWCCM (Angry White Conservative Christian Male) – Media myth, or reality?

The official narrative, of course, is that “violence”, and especially “gun violence” is the provence of  “Angry White Male Conservative Christians”.  This is a meme the Prog-enthralled media repeat over and over again. Wash, lather, rinse, repeat.
So, let’s do a little recap, shall we?
In March of 2008, conservative columnist and commenter Michelle Malkin did an admirable job highlighting the long history of “anti-War”, “anti-Military” acts of violence (in most examples, specifically targeting military recruiters working in the civilian community) intended to inflict terror which specifically had its genesis in the far Left.

*UPDATE* DC Gun Control Gone Wild – When You Are In The DC Crosshairs Nothing Will Stop Them From Pursuit… Unless, Of Course, You Are A Liberal Media Type….

update-1Rather than provide the update in another post I’m bumping this thread from three  months ago – just so you can see the comments and review the outcome.
You’re not going to believe how this story ended.   The update is after the original outline (bottom)

——————-  Original Story  —————

Mr. Mark Witaschek is first known prosecution for expended, inoperable, unregistered ammunition – “a misfired shotgun shell”.

WASHINGTON DC – A year ago this month, the attorney general for the District of  Columbia let NBC News anchor David  Gregory off scot-free for possession of a “high capacity” magazine because  doing so “would not promote public safety.”

Now, Irvin Nathan refuses to use that  same prosecutorial discretion for an average citizen who violated a bizarre  technicality that makes empty casings and shells a crime as serious as having an  illegal firearm.
Mr. Witaschek, a successful financial  adviser with no criminal history, is the first known case of a citizen being  prosecuted in D.C. for inoperable ammunition. Washington  police and prosecutors have spent a year and a half trying to nail him for  the possession of so-called unregistered ammunition.
A hunter and gun owner, Mr. Witaschek has  always kept his firearms at his sister’s house in Virginia. If convicted, he  faces a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for having a single, inoperable shotgun  shell in his home. The jury trial starts on Feb. 11. (more…)

Guest Post by Michelle Hart – Gun Ban, Part 2

titleHistory is replete with the failures of man, it highlights his cruelty, his desires, and often reveals his true nature no matter what social or moral standards have been established.
In 1895 the English author H. G. Wells laid out the exact template for how The United States would be overtaken by a brutal enemy that is completely malicious and incapable of mercy. Decades later in 1938 the Columbia Broadcasting System radio network, directed and narrated by actor and filmmaker Orson Welles, put that sordid template into action.
While I don’t know if H. G. or Orson were communists, nor do I care, the template and plan of attack is the focus not their personal philosophies. With only the spoken and written word both convinced a nation that is was being overtaken by a foreign invader that sought their complete subjugation. The same holds true today, but it’s done in soundbites, and digital form with far greater speed and reach.

Propaganda Fail – Bloomberg Anti-Gun Group Claims Victory In Sign Removal, However The Sign Was Removed As Routine Lease Expired…

Typical leftist propaganda trying to motivate their base….

CHICAGO – Mothers Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, an organization funded by billionaire Michael R. Bloomberg, is falsely claiming a victory for forcing a billboard company to take down a Slide Fire advertisement in Chicago.

The truth is that the manufacturer contracted for the billboard to stay up for only two months
A publicist for Mothers Demand Action emailed me Tuesday saying, “The controversial billboard from rifle company Slide Fire (that you’ve written about before) came down Tuesday following a campaign from Chicago members of Moms Demand Action.” (more…)

UPDATE: From ATF Raid On Ares Armor… ATF Video Tapes Crowd of Onlookers To Expand Domestic Terror Database…

(Update Via WeaselZippers)  Here’s more video and pictures of the ATF raid on Area Armor yesterday. We reported on this yesterday.
The YouTube ID of pRQ3Yk-th0E?feature=player_embedded is invalid.
The ATF wanted to seize lower receivers (base for building a AR15, but not a functional weapon) claiming they were “illegal firearms” and wanted Ares customer lists, to be able to hunt down the people who bought them. Ares refused to turn over the lists and got a temporary restraining order against the ATF. The ATF then went to the judge ex parte (without Ares present) and got the judge to essentially nullify the prior order, so they could go in, grab the receivers and the list.

AFT Ignores Restraining Order – Raids Ares Armor for Customer Files…

ATFAn Oceanside store that sells various gun parts to build a rifle from scratch warded off a federal raid Wednesday by filing a restraining order.
Dimitrios Karras, owner of Ares Armor, said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents were investigating their business, not for what they sell, but for the people who purchase their products.
Karras said the ATF threatened to shutter their business if they didn’t hand over the names of 5,000 customers who have purchased an 80 percent lower receiver (the base) for building an AR-15.   Full backstory here.
The Feds (ATF) wanted their customer list, the owners of Ares Armor wouldn’t turn it over.   Ares got a restraining order from the Court to block the ATF.   But ATF just completed a raid of their business anyway, in direct violation of that order:
