Appearing on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo {Direct Rumble Link HERE} House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was asked about the January 6 video. He said, “we will slowly roll out to every individual news agency, they can come see the tapes as well,” and explained that Fox News had to go to the House to review the footage.
The questioning about this process starts at 10:55 of the video below. The main issue raised by everyone is, why doesn’t the House just post the video to a platform and let people go review it themselves? Has anyone heard a good explanation for why this is not possible? WATCH:
During an interview with Margaret Brennan today, Congressman Michael McCaul -another GOPe weasel – said he stands with Vice President Mike Pence in saying “they avoided a constitutional crisis” on January 6, 2021, when Congress declared an emergency session and refused to entertain any challenges to the 2020 election certification. WATCH:
[Transcript] – MARGARET BRENNAN: We turn now to the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Texas Republican Congressman Michael McCaul.
Good morning to you, Chairman McCaul.
REPRESENTATIVE MICHAEL MCCAUL (R-Texas): Good Morning, Margaret.
MARGARET BRENNAN: I have got a lot to get to with you today.
But I want to start where I just left off with those very strong remarks from Mike Pence last night. Do you want to associate yourself with what he said?
REPRESENTATIVE MICHAEL MCCAUL: Let me just say Vice President Pence exercised moral clarity and judgment that day by doing his constitutional responsibility, authenticating the votes and counting them.
He avoided a major constitutional crisis that day. As you know, I voted for certification. That is our constitutional role not to overturn state- certified ballots. So, I agree. I mean, look, it was a dark — dark day. And I think people will be — history will judge everyone by what they did that day.
As promised, Fox News host Tucker Carlson began publicizing the closed-circuit TV footage from Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021. In the introduction to the footage, Mr Carlson outlines the process and limitations that his producers encountered.
Tucker Carlson states no one from the House of Representatives placed any restrictions on the footage as reviewed. Additionally, Carlson notes that no one at Fox News leadership had any input into the review that his team undertook. As he describes, much of the 40,000 hours of footage was innocuous, empty rooms with CCTV camera footage showing very little. However, the footage that did show events, does not support the “violent insurrectionist” narrative as promoted by the J6 committee. WATCH:
Tucker Carlson producers were granted access to over 40,000 hours of CCTV footage from January 6, 2021, events on Capitol Hill. During his broadcast tonight the Fox News host announces he will begin sharing footage from the tapes next week. {Direct Rumble Link} – WATCH:
Kevin McCarthy giving Paul Ryan access to CCTV footage doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in transparency. Just sayin’…
According to Axios, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Fox News (Paul Ryan) and Tucker Carlson access to the 41,000 hours of CCTV footage.
Presumably Speaker McCarthy figures this approach will support his previous promise to release and “make public” the full unedited House footage. I’m not sure I would qualify this as fulfilling the pledge. Why is an intermediary needed? Why not just release the footage and let people review it raw and unfiltered?
Via Axios – House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Fox News’ Tucker Carlson exclusive access to 41,000 hours of Capitol surveillance footage from the Jan. 6 riot, McCarthy sources tell me.
Carlson TV producers were on Capitol Hill last week to begin digging through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over Capitol grounds. Excerpts will begin airing in the coming weeks.
With talking points in hand CBS’s Margaret Brennan drops all pretenses and goes straight into her role as defender of the Biden regime in the White House.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy appears on Face the Nation for a dueling narrative contest with Ms. Brennan. WATCH (transcript below):
The website Just Security, author former CIA operative Douglas Johnson, is very concerned about the House Subcommittee on Federal Government Weaponization. [SEE ARTICLE HERE} The concern is clouded under the auspices of fearing politicization by questioning the intelligence community about weaponized government.
The article is a mainstream bureaucratic outlook where the professional intelligence apparatus views themselves as beyond being accountable to the elected public officials, specifically the House members of the committee. The permanent unelected officials have a self-perception above the reach of the elected officials.
In essence, there is no public accountability model within their view of their operation. There can only be concealment, secret briefings, darkness and ‘trust us’ type reviews of their authorities. It’s quite a remarkable thing to read.
Just Security […] that’s oversight, a bipartisan endeavor conducted in the interest of all Americans, regardless of political affiliation. The oversight structure that came from the Church Committee investigations adopted legal and sensible rules of the road and protections for all stakeholders. Such supervision is conducted in controlled settings, shielded from public exposure, in a way that promotes candor and trust among both the auditors and the audited, facilitating transparency.
Note: How has that worked out for the American people?
I have not had the time to watch this yet, will catch up later. However, I am told this is a solid interview for insight into the evolution of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy {Direct Rumble Link Here}.
Donald Trump Jr. interviews Speaker McCarthy on both a big picture and granular level to highlight the political intent of the new Republican congress. WATCH:
The newly formed House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government has to narrow the focus and make a decision on which of the myriad of examples will best highlight the weaponization issue for the American people.
The U.S. government weaponization of the FBI is clear from the influence operations in elections, to the hiding of the Hunter Biden laptop, to the targeting of parents at school board meetings, to the entirety of what is evident in the Twitter files, domestic social media operations and even the FBI activity in the J6 events.
The FBI issues are widespread and clearly visible. However, only those who have followed the weaponization of the FBI realize the scale. To the larger U.S. electorate, the FBI targeting remains unknown because the mainstream media has buried it. Should the FBI weaponization be the primary target of sunlight?
