The political left is going bananas, the socialists are having fits, the Islamists are in a rage and the communists are apoplectic about the news that federal law enforcement has executed a search warrant at the home of Representative Ilhan Omar. However, there are no specific details about the nature of the federal action.
The warrant could be about immigration issues (fraud) related to Ilhan Omar’s rather sketchy background of marrying her brother, or the warrant could be connected to a longer investigation started during the Biden administration about Omar’s finances, fake wine company and campaign funding mechanisms {Go Deep}.
There is a lot of sketchy stuff that swirls around Ilhan Omar, and despite the knee-jerk reaction surrounding immigration fraud, the federal action could be part of any number of issues.
New York Times – Federal agents executed a search warrant at the home of Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota on Monday, according to three people briefed on the matter, the kind of investigative step the Justice Department has long shied away from so close to an election.
The court-approved search of her Washington-area home comes after Department of Homeland Security officials said in recent months that they were investigating Ms. Omar, a Democrat, over her family’s immigration paperwork. More recently, some federal investigators have also sought to investigate other issues, such as Ms. Omar’s finances, campaign funds and interactions with a foreign citizen, as The New York Times previously reported.
The three people who described the execution of the search warrant spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it.
The search warrant, executed 22 days before Election Day, lists a series of potential immigration crimes under investigation, including false statements and fraud in immigration paperwork, as well as a general conspiracy charge, according to a person familiar with the document. (read more)

I considered your point about naturalized citizens. I concluded on balance net net we are better off sticking to natural born only. Quantity wise the bad results far outweighs the good in the current set up.

Dual citizen, I agree. There are ethics that representatives must sign and agree to, that say they must represent “all” their constituents. This means that having a dual citizenship is a conflict.

It is immigration related, and has to do with fraud related to her naturalization. Among other things, there is a suggestion that she lied about her age on her application…saying she was 17, when she was actually 18. Saying she was 17 allowed her to be naturalized with her father’s application, or something like that.
Issue with her brother has aged out of the statute of limitations, but if it has to do with her naturalization…no SOL on that.
They get her on this, she gets denaturalized and deported.
Not sure how they substantiate her age, given her story is that her birth certificate was destroyed in the refugee camp they were in, in Ethiopia iirc.

This business with the statute of limitations and her brother and any other aspects of this – I get that the statute prevents her being criminally prosecuted for any of that. Don’t agree, but if that is the law then that is the law.
But if there were falsehoods that she engaged in or knew that others in her family had engaged in and she kept quiet and took the benefit of them, then shouldn’t those falsehoods still adversely affect her naturalization? Even if she can no longer be criminally tried for such falsehoods, they were still falsehoods made on an official application and shouldn’t they still cause her naturalization to be revoked and for her to be deported?
I would give her 2 choices: 1. You can remain in the US and face a firing squad for treason, which I firmly believe she has committed by her statements or 2. We will return you to Somalia all expenses paid and you can live out the rest of your life there never to return to the US. If you were caught returning to the US, you will be shot on sight.
