Just How Close Was The 2014 Amnesty Vote? – Here’s The Back Story…

The he-said, he-said, between presidential candidates Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Ted Cruz provides an opportunity to highlight just how close passage of Amnesty law was in 2014.

The senate “Gang of Eight” comprehensive immigration reform bill, which included amnesty legislation  was not blocked by Ted Cruz nor Marco Rubio – it specifically passed the senate because of them, not despite them.

A very insightful PBS documentary “The Immigration Battle” lays out exactly what took place during the 2013/2014 legislative time frame.  If you have not watched the documentary I would strongly recommend you do so, it is profoundly enlightening.  (more…)

Nothing Good Ever Comes From Congress At 2:00am…

2:00am, December 16th 2015, and yet another 2,000+ page bill emerges from the halls of congressional staff – this one an “Ominibus spending bill” with over $1.5 Trillion in expenditures, almost certain to add yet another thousand billion to the structural deficit.

Republicans control the House and the Senate.

Nothing good ever comes from congress at 2:00am.

omnibus

Obama-Care came from the halls of the Senate at 1:36am on 12/23/09. More trillions, beyond trillions. The Democrats controlled the House and the Senate – we removed them.

For some insufferable reason it appears Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the Republican leadership, think the U.S. electorate are unaware of the contents of this recent Omnibus spending. We’re not. (more…)

Senator Sessions – Paul Ryan’s Omnibus Spending Bill is Evidence Why “Voters Are In Open Rebellion”…

Thank you Senator Sessions. In the dead of night after 2am this morning, Congressional leadership unveiled a more than 2,000 page ‘omnibus’ year-end funding bill which would, among other things: fully-fund the President’s refugee expansion; fully-fund sanctuary cities; fully-fund the resettlement of illegal aliens youth and their families crossing the border; lock-in tax credits for illegal aliens; and quadruple the highly controversial H-2B foreign worker visa being used to replace Americans as truck drivers, construction workers, theme park employees, and in blue collar jobs across the nation.

Everyone should MUST watch this senate floor speech today:

“The end product here is just cleaning the barn, it’s a disaster,” [Dave] Brat said of the spending and tax deal. “We’re breaking our pledge on the budget caps to the American people, we’ve lost fiscal discipline and we’re throwing it all on the next generation.”

OANN has released a post debate poll of debate “Winners and Losers” (available here).  Overall the majority saw Donald Trump as the biggest winner followed by Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.  Results below:

The same polling showed the biggest loser to be Jeb Bush, Rand Paul and John Kasich respectively.

Having sat through both the under card debate and the prime-time debate I would disagree a bit with the polling on the losers.  Lindsey Graham and George Pataki were the biggest losers of the first debate their unbridled, and often emotional, instability was on full display. (more…)

CNN Prime-Time Republican Debate – Open Discussion Thread…

The CNN prime-time debate begins at 8:30pm – It is broadcast on all CNN media outlets and is available HERE:

cnn debate lineup 12-13

Please share your comments and perspectives in the comment section.

It is anticipated the CNN approach will be to frame everything around overt and covert attacks against the GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.

Toward that end it makes sense Chris Christie was placed in the prime-time debate as a GOPe/RNC tool.  If the debate qualifications to allow Christie into the prime-time debate had not taken place there would only have been 7 candidates on the stage with Donald Trump.  Both Christie and Rand Paul would have been bumped down.
