WHITE HOUSE – Top White House officials had an hour-long meeting with a group of scholars and activists calling for the inclusion of girls of color in President Obama’s signature racial justice program known as My Brother’s Keeper.
The meeting included the Rev. Al Sharpton, who has championed MBK, and top activists and academics who signed a letter criticizing the initiative for focusing on boys and young men of color without a corollary for girls of color.
Sharpton, reached via e-mail, described the meeting as “constructive.”

WASHINGTON – House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, today pressed the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on yet another hard drive crash of an employee who disparaged Republicans and campaigned for President Obama in violation of the Hatch Act, which states that federal employees should not conduct political activities during work hours. (Doug Ross) Not only is the Obama administration secretly flying convoys of illegals around the country, but they’ve officially been caught lying about it.
…Illegal immigrants are being secretly flown to Massachusetts and kept in local lockups in an under-the-radar operation that has alarmed lawmen who are raising health and security concerns amid recent spikes in detainees coming up from Texas during the latest border crisis.
“We’re all becoming border sheriffs now with these people being carted all over the country,” said Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson… “The blame goes all the way up. It’s a travesty and people ought to be upset,” Hodgson said. “This is un-American and has raised the stakes to the public health and public safety threat.”
…On the receiving end of the buses from Hodgson’s facility was Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald Jr., who said he’s seen a jump in illegal immigrants arriving at his jail and had to deal with “scenarios where we’ve had 100-plus detainees coming in at the same time.”… (more…)
Someone help me out here. If you consider the 10th Amendment limitations on Federal intervention into state constructs – how is it legal that Feds do not have to tell the highest level state constitutional law officers of their activity, and worse can deny information when questioned ?…. Serious question. NEBRASKA – Gov. Dave Heineman blasted federal officials Friday for refusing to give him details about 200 undocumented children who have been placed in Nebraska as the feds grapple with a crush of Central American kids sneaking across the nation’s southern border.
Nebraska Watchdog first reported on the children after U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns confirmed their placement on Thursday. U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials told Johanns on June 27 that the children were placed with families or sponsors in Nebraska after being caught or turning themselves into the U.S. Border Patrol.
The children are part of a wave of Central American children who have crossed the Mexico-America border and overwhelmed Texas facilities. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services by law must find a place for the children while they await deportation hearings, and if they have family in the U.S., that’s where they go. (more…)
The ridiculous claims by Attorney General Eric Holder are belied by a wide range of diverse aspects; I’m going to point out two. First, as Holder admits he plays the race-card directed toward “some people”, not all people. However, the stupidity of this deflection is inherent when you think of the result as compared to the approach.
Stating he can direct the playing of the race-card, toward specific personages is counter intuitive to the reality that the policy he shields behind it cannot be similarly divided.
You cannot defend legal policy, or the application therein, by saying “fill-in-the-blank people” won’t like this, ergo my policy is subject to attack by racist recipients, without yourself being racist as you consider its construction.
Either the policy stands scrutiny regardless of contingent or coalition or it does not.
If you assemble the legal policy based on the color of the skin carried by the recipient of the policy, then the policy itself is racist. (more…)
Meet the honest 27 year old single mom from PA who faces 3 years in a New Jersey prison
(Via Conservative Hideout) Shaneen Allen is no dangerous criminal. She’s a single mom working 2 jobs who’s already been robbed twice while traveling alone at night in Philadelphia. Her family suggested that she carry a gun for protection. She took a gun safety course, applied for and was granted a concealed carry permit, and bought a gun.
