Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent appears on Sunday Morning Futures now hosted by Larry Kudlow who has replaced Maria Bartiromo. The primary topic of the conversation is the current state of the economy.
Secretary Bessent notes we have entered the phase of prior policy implementation where the economy now accelerates growth based on former policy changes including, targeted tax reductions, capital investment prioritization and expensing, regulatory changes and direct investment. GDP growth now looks to achieve 5% or more. WATCH:
Oil prices are the underlying friction within the economy creating higher gasoline and diesel prices. However, when you take the energy sector out of the inflation calculation, the current rate of wage growth is exceeding inflation.
Bessent also notes, currently the only oil not coming through the Strait of Hormuz is Iranian oil. Other than those supplies, oil flows through the Strait are at normal levels.

This would be counter to the interests of democrats who actively want the country to fail so they can gain and remain in power.
We all saw what they wanted with Biden in power. “Oil is dirty” said Biden, prompted by ideologues no doubt.
Democrats don’t want more oil usage. They create high oil prices when they can, and gripe about Trump going after Iran because it resulted in high oil prices. These prices are what they were under Obama and democrats did not gripe.
Democrats want the country to fail so they can gain and remain in power, they are communists.

If you take actual completion time out of the equation I’m a great mile runner.
I recognize that Trump is taking steps to ensure a century of America security and prosperity. But in a non-pretending world, you can’t ignore the cost of gas and the toll it is taking on people. Or the fact that it will negatively affect midterms vs the effect of $2 gas.
Gasoline of $2.15/gal in November 2020 didn’t help President Trump get reelected. The higher price of gas now won’t mean Democrats will retake the Congress either.

Midterms historically go to the party not in power. Bread and butter issues will win the day and voters have short term memory loss. They will vote for “change”. $5 gallon gas and beef prices are the change the average American wants.
