President Trump has drawn attention to this segment by Victor Davis Hanson outlining the status of the Canadian position thanks to Prime Minister Mark Carney. Why? Because VDH is the type of American that Canadians actually listen to.
VDH apparently talks in the tones and constructs that appeal to Canadians, therefore his remarks on how Mark Carney is manipulating Canada hit more directly than when other pundits do it. VDH has seen a remarkable uptick in the size of his audience ever since he started talking about Canada, because his new audience is almost exclusively Canadian.

I’m not a big fan of Canadians switching positions and suddenly wanting to accept trade terms. CTH would prefer that we sever all ties with Canada, terminate the USMCA and watch them slowly spiral for a year or two. Carney Inc deserves it.
Based on the metrics you explain about his audience reach, I fear for his livelihood. The powers that be don’t tend to let mere mortals with the audience he has, live too long.
Pray for Hanson.
Hanson isn’t in any danger. He’s an establishment kind of guy that doesn’t rock any boats.
We all know Carney walked away from the table for domestic political reasons. He will come back and take the last terms offered or worse and yet claim “victory”.
Wouldn’t mind a year or two of Canadian economic peril myself. I’d try to buy Pelee Island and turn it into a marina.
We must be cautious in our hidden pleasure in Canada’s plight.
The very last thing we need in our backyard is more Chicom influence and footprint.
Oppose Carney-The -Carny, but stay alert to the bamboo dragon.
