An interesting soundbite from Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) President Mike Froman who distills down the main point of contention. Essentially, the U.S. position is to demand a common trade approach toward China and the U.S. delegation gave Canada an ultimatum within the deal proposed, us or them.

No, it does not go against Canada’s “sovereign right to establish relationships with other countries,” as argued by Mark Carney to his liberal elbows up boomers. But they can’t decide what raw materials from China will be exported into the US with that Chinese steel. It’s CUSMA, not CUSMA-C. Never was. It’s really that simple.

Well, I hope this gets more visibility in Canada somehow. We (the US) under President Trump want to reindustrialize and reduce/rebalance our trade relationship with China, which is our #1 geopolitical competitor. Under Trudeau and especially Carney, Canada is embracing China like never before.
Something’s gotta give and the trade relationship is where things are heating up first. The Canadian people deserve to know their Prime Minister has chosen China over the US and that all the TDS being thrown around is a smokescreen to obscure that fact. I truly don’t believe the Canadian people as a whole would support this, but it wouldn’t be the first time I am wrong.
I wonder what China has done to get him to turn his back on his next door neighbor. China does not have the money to support Canada. They do have the money to support Carney however. These English types are too easily purchased and do not care enough to cover it up like our clowns.

They cannot retrieve the same wealth if their industrial manufacturing is located in North America. Corruption would be easily found.
