In his most recent outline, Promethean Action PAC’s Mike Steger puts the U.S-Canada trade conflict into an accurate context where China is really the enterprise to gain or fail. This is a very well presented segment worth watching.
CTH readers will note our long track of this dynamic. In short, as NAFTA predictably evolved, and as the U.S. manufacturing base was deconstructed, suddenly things shifted. Canada and Mexico became important as entry doors into the U.S. consumer market for the products outsourced by the destruction of the American manufacturing base.
Steger appropriately uses the auto-sector as an example because it is the easiest sector to quantify damage. By playing the long game, China has thoroughly compromised the EU and U.K auto market. In 2025 China exported 1.2 million vehicles into Europe. Europe only exported 200,000 vehicles into China; a net trade deficit of 1 million vehicles in Beijing’s favor.
Chinese cars now represent over ten percent of all EU vehicles on the road, and this is only the beginning stage of the collapse of the EU industrial base that Germany and Brussels have only recently started to grasp. The pace is irreversible at this point for Europe, and now China has turned their attention toward Canada. This is why the U.S-Canada trade conflict matters!
Canada is the entryway to do in North America what China has done in Europe. WATCH:
.
In the graph below, look at how fast things move once the foothold is established by policy. This is stunning.
When President Trump left office in Term-1 (Jan ’21), Europe was exporting around 400,000 cars to China, and China was exporting around 175,000 cars to Europe.
Just five years later, Europe is exporting 200,000 cars to China, and China is exporting 1.2 million cars to Europe.
This is why Germany’s auto-sector is in a state of rapid collapse, represented by Volkswagen’s recent announcements to close factories, chut down models and eliminate up to 100,000 jobs. LOOK:
.
When Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney tells President Trump that there are limits on the Chinese EVs Canada is currently allowing, no reasonable person can look at the recent history of both BYD/GEELY and not understand what is likely from Carney’s decision.
In many ways Canada’s antagonism is creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Trump needs to immediately protect the vulnerable U.S. position to restart strong manufacturing. That’s the reason for the Sec.301 Steel and Aluminum tariffs.
Additionally, the Sec.338 tariffs (50%) are necessary to close the access point, not because Canadian imports pose a threat, but because they are indistinguishable from Chinese component parts that are assembled into finished goods and exported from Canada.
Here’s an example of a possible scenario:
(1) Toyota and Honda have both told Canadian trade officials that without USMCA access to the U.S. market, there is no reason to maintain auto plants in Canada.
(2) The most effective protectionist position that Trump can take would be to terminate the USMCA.
(3) If Trump terminates the USMCA, auto plants in Canada will close.
(4) That’s the moment when Chinese EV companies BYD/GEELY, subsidized heavily by China, will swoop in and purchase those Canadian facilities for pennies on the dollar – based on the entry agreement that Mark Carney has already authorized.
President Trump needs to protect the USA from globalist trade policies on our border. This is why the U.S-Canada trade conflict matters more than any other trade friction in the world. There are trillions at stake.

I am truly sad for the people of Europe and Canada. Even if they expel all the traitors and invaders, they’ll have some hard times ahead.
Revelation 6:5-6 ESV
[5] When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand. [6] And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!”
America, even in our weakened state, is rich beyond measure. Perhaps we are the oil and the wine?
Don/t be sad for Europe and Canada because that will be us the next time a demoRat gets elected to POTUS
THAT……can never be a.lowed to happen….because if it does….they will not repeat their failures of their last chance under Biden…..they will finish us! J6 every single one of us only after they kill or imprisoned Trump and his family!
They ARE the enemy and can NEVER have and hold power again! We really need to END THEM!
I may be oversimplifying, but it looks to me like the best move for the Canadian people, as well as for the US, would be for Canada to become the 51st state. Manufacturing jobs could thrive on both sides of the 49th parallel. And Canadians could be free from the uniparty tyranny that controls their futures now.
But the US would still have Uniparty control, right?
Our only hope is to maintain the administration we have.
I know PDJT is out January 2029, but his admin needs to stay intact to accomplish longterm goals.
Otherwise, a rogue regime like O’biden’s can undo everything.
Canadian Uniparty control would tip the edge to ensure American Uniparty control would be forever on the left.
Except Canadian voters have too many who have gone the globalist route. Add them to our own woke, globalists and those of us who are not woke are done for. Just leave them where they are unattached to our elections.
Essential summary of the challenge before us.
Among the many aspects of the world which have dropped revelation upon me, the hostility of the Canadians has been one of the most startling. Did not know that was in the background – moving to the foreground.
Keep my head on a swivel.
Here’s a question for when China takes over these auto plants in Germany and Canada. Do the Unions survive or do the people work for slave labor or does China import their own people to do the labor?
Don’t you think China buying the plants in Canada and Europe is just a Trojan horse?
China says hey we are here in your market building in your countries while they slowly import from China more and more and eventually it become too expensive to keep the plants open and they close.
Kinda like, “We’re from China & we’re here to help”. For further reference, see Africa.
Indeed!
Oh! That’s a good question!
I think you know the answer.
c C p wants the resources of those countries.
They don’t want the people.
@Sundance ‘s feed today is sobering.😢
“Our current tax code punishes companies for doing business in the United States, and encourages them to leave. And that’s what’s happened for so many years… companies are leaving our country and firing all those people… My administration rejects the offshoring model, and we have embraced a new model. It’s called the American model.” ~ from Remarks by President Trump to the National Association of Manufacturers (Budget & Spending) Sept 29, 2017.
Our current tax system punishes workers… and rewards crooked politicians at the local, state, etc. level.
One more: “Washington stood idly by as other countries engaged in unfair trade practices… For eight years, Whirlpool begged the Obama-Biden administration… to protect American workers…” ~ from Remarks by President Trump at Whirlpool Corporation Manufacturing Plant (Economy & Jobs) Aug 6, 2020.
FairTax.org, changes all of that. It eliminates the need for an IRS. It raises enough revenue to fund the government. It creates economic incentives for growth and investment
No. Operate off of the revenue from tariffs and shrink the size and scope of government.
Blackberry/QNX is a Canadian company.
This is going to be interesting what PDJT will do on their technology which is now embedded in lots of devices including cars.
It’s also used by multiple devices.
It’s also used by multiple governments for security.
Excellent video.
Excellent graph.
It’s far easier to scream about the mean ol’ Orange Menace than it is to take a serious look at what’s happening in the real world.
The socialists hate PDJT47 so much that they would rather their countries go down the tubes rather than admit that he’s right.
China has always been the real threat.
They exist with an absolute zero sum mentality.
America stands as the only real barrier to China dominating the globe.
Pretty cute of China, referring to the port, as the Dragon Port.
Tell me how this ends for the globalists after everything is destroyed.
They all learn how to speak Chinese and use chopsticks at the cocktail party.
As a person who is bewildered by all things relating to global economics, financial markets and the global forces behind them, even I can see and sense the rapidly creeping destruction of our national economy, security, prosperity and rights of ownership.
After reading this I now have a clearer understanding of what President Trump is dealing with when he applies these tariffs and directly calls out the cancer they are sending our way. To those Canadians calling us names, hopefully you will awaken be fore you reach the point you no longer can.
Sundance – “Additionally, the Sec.338 tariffs (50%) are necessary to close the access point, not because Canadian imports pose a threat, but because they are indistinguishable from Chinese component parts that are assembled into finished goods and exported from Canada.”
This helps explain the extensive failures in modern vehicles here in the United States. While I fault the American auto industry for inexcusable engineering, in some ways, their reliance on global manufacturing of their own designed and branded parts suffer from this pass-through system that many countries engage in. Perhaps with millions of recalls, they will change their strategy.
President Trump is a genius business man this is a perfect example of why we do not need politicians we need business leaders to run our country.
I would like to thank all the learned globalists as well as the so called Wall Street geniuses for using their skills and power for helping humanity grow and prosper.
Pardon me, I me for helping Communist China and London victimize the entirety if the good people throughout the world.
i’m not much of a commenter; but eventually we’re going to have an administration that can literally open up everything they want to from canada right?
China is at war with the world.
Funny how the Chinese model described mirrors the Rockefeller model from over 100 years ago. John D. Rockefeller and Standard Oil undercut competition at gas stations until he put them out of business. At which point he was able to raise prices.
