A recent article in Politico quoting several cabinet members of Prime Minister Mark Carney reflects a particular reality of the problem their economy will face in 2026.
It appears that Canadian government officials have finally recognized the Trump administration plans to dissolve the USMCA or what Canada calls CUSMA next year. With that reality they have a big problem.
Mexico has been working throughout the year to initiate economic policies in alignment with the United States. However, structurally and politically this is an alignment that is impossible for Canada to do. Like many contracting European countries, the economic policies of Canada are centered around their climate change agenda and green energy goals.
For the past few decades Canada bought into the carbon scam and enacted climate change goals into law for carbon pricing, alternative energy production, industry and manufacturing costs. These mechanisms to control “climate change” are nuts in the big picture.
In order for Canada to position their economy to be in alignment with the rest of North America (USA and Mexico), Carney would have to reverse years of legislated rules and regulations. That is not going to happen, and Canada will always be at a disadvantage because of it.
(Politico) – […] It’s a moment of existential crisis for Canada, a senior Carney government official told POLITICO. Waiting out the Trump administration isn’t an option, the official said, arguing that what’s happening in the United States reflects a generational shift — not a temporary disruption — and that returning to a policy of closer integration with America would be foolish. (more)
With three quarters of their economic production tied to exports into the USA, and with the USMCA likely to be dissolved in favor of a bilateral trade agreement, Canada now has to find other markets for its products or lower all the trade barriers currently in place. Prime Minister Mark Carney is trying to find alternative markets.
Carney has looked toward Europe, but that is a closed trade bloc difficult to engage. Carney has looked to southeast Asia, but that is an export driven market with limited capabilities to import costly western products. Carney has looked to Japan and China, but on scale there’s little to be gained.
The question is, where can Canada send its products if not to the USA. The brutally honest answer is nowhere. There just isn’t any other market, or combination of markets, who could replace the consumer base of the USA. Canada is refusing to admit this reality and 2026 is going to be a harsh awakening for the Canadian people.
The USMCA is currently facilitating around 60% of Canada’s exports into the United States. Cancel that agreement and suddenly 100% of all Canada-U.S. trade is on the table for negotiations.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and President Trump are going to put the squeeze on Mark Carney and every province within Canada as a consequence of their intransigence.
[…] Two-thirds of Canada’s economy is powered by trade, and roughly three-quarters of its exports flow to the U.S. It’s a C$1.3 trillion annual relationship that was celebrated on both sides of the border in good times but has become a source of leverage for America, especially with the Trump administration expected to continue squeezing Canadian industries with tariffs.
Europe is Carney’s top priority for deepening existing free-trade relationships. But closer integration with the European Union is a long game, and Canada has no interest in joining the bloc, according to the official, pushing Ottawa to explore other regions.
“Trade diversification is nothing new. People have talked about this for decades,” Sidhu said. “The difference here is other countries’ willingness to look at Canada as a reliable, stable trading partner,” he added, saying Trump has had a bigger influence on Ottawa’s strategy than any difference in trade philosophy between Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney.
Canada’s governing Liberal Party is under new management, forcing a cohort of Trudeau-era lawmakers to quickly learn the language of economics to make an impression with the new boss. Social issues have been demoted — as have brown shoes.
Cabinet ministers are competing to establish themselves as closers to meet Carney’s high expectations. The result is overlapping mandates that sow confusion over who owns what.
Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc leads a new portfolio created under Carney, who sliced out North America from the international trade minister’s purview. (read more)

I guess that leaves Africa & Antarctica to trade with.
I hear S Africa really needs some consulting on Farming.
The true size of Africa visually:
That’s an amazing graphic! Thank you for posting it.
Land mass… sure. But the people….?
the third world does not usually have much buying power. And South Africa is devolving into the third world at rapid pace
Some would say that Africa was the cradle of civilization
Many believe the cradle of civilization is the garden of Eden located in modern Day Iraq between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in or close to Fertile Crescent.
Fertile Crescent and the area between the Tigris and Euphrates was presented to public school children in the 60’s as the first civilization. Of course being public, no mention of any Eden.
Those that would say that are basing it off of limited knowledge, new things being uncovered everyday.
I see your point
Israel would easily have fit in the gap between Jordan and Greece. I wonder ~WHY~ it wasn’t included 🤔
Interesting. What’s the combined GDP of Africa?
I think they left out Alaska in their representation?
<I guess that leaves Africa & Antarctica to trade with.>
And Antarctica said they were cold to the idea 🙂
No one to sell snow to an Eskimo….
I don’t think you can trade blubber with them
Africa is eating it up.
That’s a pretty frosty statement
<That’s a pretty frosty statement>
That reminds me…
Frosty was caught picking his nose in the vegetable aisle 🙂
You win today’s internet reply prize. Nicely played.
Cleanup aisle 4!
Africa is warming up…
Yep, before you know it they will catch on to the concept of a building exceeding a single story.
Not a lot of people either, although like most resort areas the population swells over 4 times in the summer.
Antarctica’s population is comprised mainly of scientific research staff. The number of residents varies, from around 1,100 in the harsh Antarctic winter to around 4,400 in the milder summer months of October to February, plus an additional staff of 1,000 in the nearby waters.

As far as size here is a graphic like the Africa one, but there is no hyperlink to post, although it can be downloaded.

Africa collectively could be prodigiously successful given their rich natural resources. If not for want of better culture and rule of law.
Which will NEVER happen.
Rich natural resources require transportation and conversion that will kill the planet.
Africa had few deep rivers. Most were shallow and not ship worthy. This hindered getting interior resources. It had few deep water ports so trade and development was limited.
The Truth.
“Antarctica”. Lololol.. thanks for the laugh. That is one untapped market there.
Well just have to wait for the next pole shift. Then it’ll be lush tropical anti-Antarctica.
5…maybe 6 million years…???? 🤓
Funny but you bring that very up.
@zachariaspro thinks a pole shift started a week ago, and will be in full swing around July 2026.
I was going to mention it, but decided it was not that significant / potentially impactful.
Has Carney tried Greenland yet?
Import more third world freeloaders Canada that will solve your problems for sure.
Give us time to build a wall on the 49th parallel first…..
DEI will probably be seen as the Globalists self-forged nemesis, which would be a deliciously ironic thought, if it didn’t include the millions upon millions who will be crushed under the falling totalitarian monster.
all going according to plan
the decimation of western economies along with overwhelming immigration by 3rd worlders is by design
‘those who cannot be named’ are giddy
Canada will break apart. Western provinces will declare independence and align with the US. And Carney can look out his window over the literal Plains of Abraham and realize he [and his English proxies] have been outmaneuvered [again]. Fortune favors the prepared mind.
Albreta and Saskatchewan – 51st state
THey already have their voting legislation in place if the rest of canada continues to increase taxes on them
Not 51st state. That First Nations stuff is toxic. Must be dealt with first.
That, and the fact that much of the land is British Crown land.
That can be fixed with property taxes
Is that true (Danish Crown) of Greenland also?
My fellow boomers have it coming. They are the hippies from the late 60s.
I despised them then and still feel the same way.
They are the ones hooked on Green things, carbon taxes, illegal immigrants welcome, everything the EU+UK are doing.
The place needs to crash and burn because the Liberal Party has morphed into the Brookfield Party.
We are like Minnesota, only without investigative journalists that matter.
There are 5 million visas expiring in 2026.
Canada’s massive number of temporary residents (work permits, study permits)
We have had a surge in refugee claims, they get to stay in hotels with everything paid for with our tax dollars.
Those people will not be going home to India and other 3rd world countries.
Yep, out here in British Columbia we are already starting to see a shift in peoples attitudes.
Those that can, and are so inclined are “ prepping”
Some of European origin are heading to the lands of their birth.
Hungary, Poland to name two countries.
Our economy is stagnant and the cost of living is on the rise.
Who in their right mind would invest in Canada..most of us “middle of the road” President Trump supporting Canadians are “sitting tight.”
Cheers!
An interesting documentary on the Canadian Flag history and the deception of Canada being a sovereign country. As a fellow Canadian, I am interested in your thoughts on this. I wonder if the individual provinces have any plans to deal with this?
Hi from British Columbia,
Many of the folks we talk to are sick of Canada period.
It was apparent to any thinking person that the nation that many thought existed, disappeared with the rise of Trudeau #1
Bi Lingual bullshit etc, pandering to every ethnic group, native grievances etc.
More significantly is that the British Monarchy still runs the show.
As a Scottish born immigrant to Canada I despise the English monarchy..inbred sociopaths is what they are.
Cheers!
The illusion disappeared. I know Canadians who still think the media tells the truth because they are required to or something.
True..but it is most prevalent among the older “ boomers” those in their late sixties to late seventies”
Cheers!
I was prepared to dismiss this because of the claim that the Canada flag is trademarked… but then I checked. WTF?!
I asked the same question of the US flag and it is not though but U.S. law (the Lanham Act) prohibits registering trademarks that consist of or comprise the flag or a simulation of it to prevent confusion or false endorsement. That’s interesting but a far cry from claims that the USA is a privately owned corporation.
The “owner” of Canada’s flag trademark is no one but the law surrounding it is such that permission for its use comes from one of the departments in Canada’s government… like “Heritage department?” It’s weird.
I call them rejects from the 60’s.
Hey, socialism is GREAT…
Until you run out of US taxpayer money…..
NO MERCY!
Homer & USMC……. I’m sorry to use this image yet again…. but its SOOO PERFECT for my sentiments…..( inextricably weaved with yours)
I am also SOOO DONE with them and their cucked antics…….
I’m impatient for a resolution to this economic standoff. I’ve many friends affected and cross-border adventures waiting in limbo.
Canadians, or some Canadians, are learning that Pres Trump means what he says.
They are also wising up about the USA, when Pres Trump is out of office things here are not going to bounce back to what it was before Trump was elected.
American’s are more than fed up with the uniparty, it will not be easy for the criminals and grifters who use to run the country to step back into power.
Sorry about your friends PgtSndThinker who are affected but America has made he requirements very clear and the future of Canada is up to the Canadian leaders.
It is out of our hands.
The people affected by this situation on our northern border would be wise to look for alternative solutions to their money problems.
The millions and millions of Americans who have suffered from this bad trade deal with Canada are sighing with relief that the Canadian parasites are b eing delt with finally.
I like most Canadians I have met and have no personal problems with them.
Many BC Canadians spend the winter down in Arizona where my family is and I see them all the time when I visit.
But sadly their government has made things difficult.
So please you wonderful and lovely Canadian citizens do not take offense at my comments.
“The question is, where can Canada send its products if not to the USA.” Well there is Santa’s Village just a little north of them.
So would we just add one new star to the flag or 10 to represent each province? Anyone seen an artist rendition yet?
Make Obama’s 59 States Great Again!
Fifty-seven??
Who pays attention to anything that jackass had to say anyway….
59…57….
In one ear and out the other…..
obama’s 57 plus alberta-sasketchawan and greenland
This keeps coming up, but I’m pretty sure Obama was referring to the 57 state-level parties that make up the DNC.
Fifty-seven is the number of Muslim countries. You can tell where Obama’s thoughts were at the time he made that blunder – on Islam.
But there could finally be the possibility of his inter-continental railroad becoming real
Oh hell no!
No Quebecois!
It would be foolish to annex the Eastern half of Canada. They bring nothing to the table except socialist ideas and French speakers.
Alberta would be a nice addition.
Thank You. Everyone needs to calm down and remember, just like NYC, many of those people voted themselves into their predicament. And French speakers have a hard time understanding Canadian French. So, hard pass.
WE ARE NOT giving Canadians 20 US Senators!
Elizabeth Nickson:
Canada’s new U.S. ambassador
Just as long as we can keep our Rush and Triumph downloads and I can take my annual seal clubbing trip!
We get… Corner Gas, Kim’s Convenience, and Trailer Park Boys.
We give… All of Tyler Perry catalog.
Maybe they can sell to UKR. They seem to be awful chummy with the midget cokehead there.
I feel so sad for the decent, level headed, patriotic citizens of Canada who are under the boot of the emerging communist menace that has seized control of their government. Spare us the word games, communism is exactly what this is.
Installing leaders, freezing bank accounts, punishing the private sector. We’ve seen it all before.
And to think less than a year ago, the installed pied-piper Truedope was dancing away and merrily leading the gullible down the path. Oh Justin has done his job well, so now its off to the yachts, the booze, and the babes. No worries for Little Fidel.
Yep, he is a celebrity, the wife dumped him, and new celebrity airhead has him by his shrunken vestibules.😉
This is what happens when people outsource their critical thinking to
LiberalLeftists, particularly in the media they decide to accept for their so-called information. You are what you
eatread. Here is an interesting thought …. the US Figures out a way to “Financially and Contractually” tie up ALL the “Green Carbon Credits” globally available.
Think of the Consternation among the nations tied to the “Green new Deal” as they line up to buy them off the US.
Reverse lawfare!
🤣 🤣 🤣
That would be Trumpian Epic!
Carney has never run anything. When you look at Jerome Powell at the Fed you are seeing Carney at his very very best. The man is a walking talking Harris. Carney’s Word Salads make Harris look intelligent. Canada is screwed. The Conservatives up there are to the Left of Romney. Canada is going to have several decades of decline. It may break apart? It may be taken over by NarcoTerrorists or the CCP.
Woe Canada…
Their new anthem?
Wasn’t there an issue during an American vs Canada hockey game….I think America took care of the issue if I recall correctly?
Penalty box was approaching capacity!

Carney, the self proclaimed financial world bank guru championed by the deep state money people is getting his ass whipped by a so called stupid man named Trump and his people..
How about that ?
We all know who the financial genius is in reality.
Trump the self made American billionaire .
Not Carney the globalist so called elite grifter.
I think is about time we consider changing the definition of elite .
Calling someone elite is more like an insult these days.
A bit of advice to all Snow Mexican’s.
You better reconsider Trumps 51st. State suggestion and quick.
Its is your ONLY WAY OUT of this mess.
If you let foolish Canadian pride get in your way and stick with your grifter political class you all will deserve what you get.
Go Trump .
No statehood. Look at all the socialist programs and the overabundance of foreigners leeching off them.
Give them territorial status.
“Deserve what you get” is a little harsh for our ordinary, hard-working neighbors to the north.
I’d go with “What you get will be inevitable.”
It is not pride, many are stuck. Old age, illness, family commitments or financial.
Careful..don’t get too smug..the U.S.A. was only a few millimetres away from a catastrophe.
Harris/Walz or worse Nikki or have you forgotten.
Cheers!
Good advice about being smug Dekester.
We are not out of the woods ourselves here in the USA but I also am aware that we have our own elderly, people suffering with bad health and family and financial ties that affect their quality of life.
I am not sure but I doubt that many Canadians worry about us and our difficulties.
For the USA to climb out of this huge mess we need to be all in for AMERICA just as Canadians need to be all in for Canada.
Mutual respect and economic deals can be made to work for both.
We have not forgotten that the world is full of misery and suffering and are trying to do something abut it for the people we are responsible for.
But you are right, in the process we need to avoid the smug smart a** attitude and get on with fixing our own problems.
Agreed 100%
“ Sweep our side of the street” some to mind.
Cheers!
Those who can, build…
Those who cannot?
Well, I give you Carney, whose whole world is based on graphs, dot plots, self enrichmemt, and ego.
Predictable results always follow.
So true Betsey J.
Far too many of the worlds leaders have lived and governed like children in their own fantasy world, protected from the natural consequences of reality by parents.
They are finally being forced to grow up and pay the piper and they are very unhappy.
I expect quite a few huge tantrums from these brats.
But they will learn.
Life gives you the test first, Chloe…and the lesson after.
Do you think they will learn?
I’m not so sure, sis.
Those that can, do.
Those that can’t, teach.
Those that can’t teach, become foremen.
Those that can’t do any of above, become politicians.
“Those who can, build…
Those who cannot?”
Become building inspectors.
Then tell you how your doing it wrong and how they would do it.
True story.
My gosh yes!!!
My British husband and a builder himself, a jack of all trades (master of them all), got a chuckle out of this. because it is so true over there as well.
The stories he could tell you…😂
Perhaps Red Green and his crew could come up with a solution?
We do not want them voting in the US. There is tons of corruption and tons of Communism. Treat them as a territory and let the smart provinces leave Canada. The Islamists up there are a decade more radical than the US, maybe two decades ahead.
No one knows and does business better than Donald J. Trump. Everybody else is at extreme disadvantage.
https://elizabethnickson.substack.com/p/just-how-demented-is-the-demented
Just read Elizabeth Nickson’s latest yesterday – seems like perfect timing for this thread. Alberta, COME ON DOWN!
I’ll be part of a charter flight of Alberta golfers and gamblers heading for Laughlin, Nevada in the next month. We went there last spring and can’t wait to get back there even with the exchange rate.
I thumb my nose at all the elbows up crowd refusing to travel to the USA. I hear flights to Mexico from Canada have nearly doubled in price.
Mexico, land of the drug cartel war lords.
We have avoided it for years even though I grew up right on the Az/Mexico border and spent a lot of time crossing back and forth to various places down there.
We lived very rural on a ranch, there was a small grocery store in a little town in Mexico that my Mom had me run down and get something that she needed and had run out of.
The American stores were a lot farther away it made no sense to travel hours to them when the one across the border was 20 minutes away.
I had no fear crossing and then shopping there, it was like a little Mexican Mayberry.
The store owner would wait on me and chat a bit, telling me to tell my Mom and Dad hi.
Now even the American side is a war zone, ruled over by the brutal vicious soldiers of the war lords.
Trumps border policies have made a huge difference but it will take a while for life to get back to normal down there,
You Canadian friends who choose to visit there for recreational purposes are taking a real chance.
Lovely post!
Cheers!
We vacationed in Mexico many times since the early eighties but it’s lost its appeal for us. The military doesn’t have regular beach patrols for nothing.
Great article/opinion/insights ….Thanks for posting!
There ARE some sane normal people left there 😅 …..
Winning. For US.
This is what happens, boys and girls, when we Let Trump Be Trump.
The man effing knows what he is doing.
Thanks Mr. President. 😁
I voted for that! 🇺🇸
I made Vermont Maple Syrup Great Again!
That’s what all my peeps got from Santa…
I take that back…One family faction got goodies from Gethsemane Farms…also good and locally sourced yummies!
The Snow Mexicans are going to have to either bite the bullet and seriously rethink their stupid policies…..
…..or they are going to economically, and then societally, implode.
Either way, look for a couple of the western provinces to start seriously think about detaching from Canada and either try to go it alone or maybe associate with the US in some manner.
Good. Mark Carney and the Canadiens who support him can all go F- themselves.
Reality is a bitch sometimes.
And she doesn’t really care whether you like it or not.
hey tim, sorry hey mark,
here is the solution, Just lower your tariffs against the USA to zero and President Trump will lower ours to match yours…
I want to make fun of Canada as an American. Minnesota though…
Now we don’t have a place to stash minini0lace….maybe Anartica?
That 51st state thing may not be looking too bad now, eh Mister Prime Minister?
Canada is already said to be informally part of China’s belt and road initiative with its economic activities and trade relations with China reflecting informal connections to the BRI framework.
Not too mention that “Chinese operatives in Canada are involved in various activities, including espionage, election interference, and the operation of clandestine police stations that may intimidate and control the Chinese community. These actions have raised significant concerns about foreign influence on Canadian sovereignty and democracy.”
Even Wikipedia is admitting things you normally don’t see there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_government_interference_in_Canada
China is deep in Canada already and who knows how deep that rabbit hole really goes.
If Canada is not able to trans ship China goods into the US then the Canadian part of the Belt and Road is a dead end.
You think China’s going to leave their most politically valuable host in the Americas. That’s not how the Chinese operate. Read “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. China is playing the long game and will simply wait Trump’s presidency out and begin to politically exploit weakness again afterwards when it manifests with whatever corrupt or inept buffoons are back in charge. If you want to see how China operates, look at how they took so much of Africa. They come in and they never leave. “Ideological evolution is a long-term process” -Xi Jinping.
Meanwhile, Canadian PM Mark Carney has 91% of his personal investments in the USA.
So far, Trump’s strategies have been working. Here’s to hoping he can squeeze the Canadian government enough for them to recant. Canadians don’t deserve bad managment any more than Americans. They have the same problems we do, in that, the Liberals are generally in “blue” cities, and the rest of the country could function well if the liberals would shut up and leave everyone alone.
Mexico and Canada should allow US troops to operate in their country to stop the drugs. It could save them a LOT of money on their own law enforcement. 🙂
I’m watching two western Canadian provinces closely to see when they will leave Canada and join the USA. Canada’s federal government is doing everything they can to stop this of course and it’s ugly. They shouldn’t have punished the truckers or the farmers or the ranchers and especially not killing the ostriches.
“Mexico and Canada should allow US troops to operate in their country to stop the drugs. It could save them a LOT of money on their own law enforcement.”
That savings would be offset by what America should charge them for providing policing and security services. Freedom isn’t free…….
I can hypothesize that Trump wants Canada to re-invigorate its industrial capacity in order to do proper business with the US. This will change the mindset of the average Canadian to a more independent, self-sufficient outlook. Ottawa will hate that. They only want serfs for the illegitimate Crown.
So sad, and so avoidable.
I have always found Canada difficult to do business with. There’s always some government office that need to approve, and they always need to get paid way more than it should cost for them to look at something that already has US approvals.
I kinda pissed off a Canadian recently when I told him as far as I was concerned it was no different than doing business with Pakistan — pay to play.
Ironically carneys companies and investments are all safely tucked away in USA.
That photo of Carney……….. always reminds me of Herman Munster.
Epstein Island Carney could care less about Canada. He is a board member @ Berk/Hath and that is where he funnels anything and everything he can out of Canada; he cannot lose.
Sundance, it’s amazing that Carney and others didn’t read your numerous articles since Jan what Trump’s plan was for Mexico and Canada. You wrote volumes on this. It’s almost like liberals are retarded, to even think Trump was not telling the truth to Trudeau at Trumps election dinner. He told everyone from day one. Carney even thinking Europe could help them, don’t understand EU got rolled over on US tariffs. Would the EU come to Canada and support his idiocy? NATO to them in Europe, is not protection for Canada, and it will never be protection for the US. Meanwhile Carney pledging his support for Europe and Ukraine is retarded. A NATO country opposing the US that created NATO, is retarded. Carney is not a brilliant person.
It is amazing what self destructive behaviors people will exhibit rather than admit error and change course.
Maybe somewhere somehow Carney’s investments are shorting Canada.
Could do like the EU. Give up trade and become a war machine. After all, you did put boots on the ground in Ukraine, didn’t you?
Of the three North American nations, Mexico was traditionally by far the poorest, while the US and Canada enjoyed a far higher standard of living and prosperity. It seems that Canada and Mexico are going to be switching places.
There is a saying popular with immigration restrictionists: “Import the 3rd world, become the 3rd world”. Canada imported the 3rd world and, much like Minnesota, they are proving the saying to be true.
Canada has no options to replace USA, to think so is just pretending.
What’s surprising it took this long to find out Carney is really not in the club. All carney’s hatred of Trump didn’t buy him a ticket in world trade via the EU. It makes one wonder, did Canada fail to realize Trump and Team have been studying and creating this plan since his term #1. And Canada in all their liberal hubris didn’t take Trump seriously. The other thing they totally fail to understand is Trump is never insulted by what they say. Its all fun and world gaming for the US to win.
World Trade is the life blood of America. And Trump has known this all his life. Trump is the preeminent patriot of the US, and will do anything he can to win for America. Thats why the corrupt bankers can’t win, he literally can’t be insulted, and he’s 10 steps ahead of any of them.
You mean they can’t trade with Ukraine and their EU buddies???
Canada’s current conundrum was set up by past American Presidents of both parties and Congress who all believed it was a good idea to send our manufacturing facilities and factories to foreign countries!!! Can’t explain the rationale for that thinking! Ross Perot called it that “giant sucking sound” which no one in Congress could hear but the workers in the rust belt heard it loud and clear and felt it, some never worked again!!!
😂 oh Canada
Soon to be (a) Ho..
Doh Canada
Carbon Dioxide had never been called ‘carbon’ until the climate scam began.
The climate scammers are trying to evoke images of soot by referring to ‘carbon’.
It is imperative to call out the scammers by constantly forcing them to use truthful terminology.
Try it next time you’re having a climate conversation and watch how hard it is for climate scammers to change their language. Usually, they say that the word ‘carbon’ is simply an abbreviation. If you say ‘No, it’s a different thing’ and force them to acknowledge the phrase ‘carbon dioxide’, they nearly die on the spot!
Whats funnier is that the stock photos they commonly use of “dirty” exhaust towers is really just off-colored photos of cooling towers for STEAM from thermal plants, ie plain old water vapor.
They also have Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide confused in those tiny little brains of of theirs.
Carbon dioxide is taken in by plants, including growing food, and they give off oxygen. The whole climate change fraud reeks of idiocy. We need more carbon dioxide to grow more food for the increasing population of the world!
I visited the Canadian climate change web page and was asked very politely to leave feedback to improve the site. I told them to include alternative viewpoints to the World Bank and WEF which, essentially, is “give us your money and we will save the planet”. Nobody in those circles ever thinks that the models could be wrong, despite an abysmal track record. All models are wrong, some models are useful. The ones which have a good track record are useful, all the others are not.
So many of these leaders are like small children who have had their Mom’s telling them how smart and wonderful and special they are.
As children get older most parents try to allow the kid to learn how consequences follow actions and they mature.
These useless adults ego stroke each other and live in a bubble.
Reality is now hitting them hard and they are not happy.
Sucks to be them.
Sounds like our Congress Critters.
Another big problem for Canada especially Ontario is the export of electricity. Canada can’t export electricity anywhere else.
The percentage of electricity in Canada’s total exports is approximately 8%, and all of this electricity is exported exclusively to the United States.
In 2024, Canada exported 35.64 Terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity, a notable drop of 28% from the previous year.
Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Manitoba are the leading provinces for these exports.
United States: Acts as the only destination for Canada’s electricity exports. Canada supplies 85% of the electrical energy imported by the U.S. There are no significant exports to other countries.
It’s why Ford’s threat to shut off electricity to the US was such a joke, where else is he going to sell that electricity? It would also decimate Ontario’s economy.
I think it’s worse than what Sundance is implying. And that is because the economy of the future will not be commodities but will be all about intellectual property. And while Canada has very good science and engineering, we are terrible at monetizing ip. According to Jim Balsillie (the former Blackberry guy), Canada was taken to the cleaners during the last free trade negotiations because the Canadians focused on commodities while the US made sure to secure ip rights. Here is one link to his thinking:
https://nationalpost.com/news/balsillie-tech-catrastrophic-costs
This isn’t just theoretical. Canada arguably was the birthplace of practical AI. But Geoffrey Hinton was unable to commercially develop his work in Canada so he went to Google. Canada basically gave away what is probably a trillion dollars worth of licenses and royalties. For nothing.
The Liberals are so obsessed with the Green agenda that they can see nothing else. If these clowns stay in power, Canada will descend into third worldism. In the meantime, all of the brains in the country will head south. Nothing will be left.
I think the Americans are taking their time on negotiations with Canada because time is on their side. Slow bleed or fast, the result is the same.
I envision a scenario in which Canada can no longer take care of itself (certainly not militarily) and either becomes a future 5st state or a Chinese satellite country.
The China satellite is my concern. I can see China looking to take full advantage of Canada’s predicament.
Yes, China will likely demand ownership in exchange for access. This means seats on the board, controlling the future direction or the companies, and sharing the technology of the companies. Some call it IP strip mining.
Probably 100% correct re Canada running to China. Due to the severe anti-Trump attitude by the leftists in the Canadian government, they’ll likely sellout for pennies on the dollar to China rather then admit their Green New Scam/WEF socialist BS and hostile actions against the US was all wrong from the start. BC and Alberta for the most part would likely prefer joining the US rather then being under communist rule with China.
Canada has become a liability. Can China’s economy absorb Canada’s economic disaster when their own economy is failing. WHO will buy all those Chinese widgets?
America cannot have China on their northern border and this Canadian does not want China anywhere in the country.
Unfortunately the LPC is a branch of the CCP and has been since Chretien.
The US will never accept China on its Northern border FAFo
Respectfully… ‘than’ and ‘then’ have ENTIRELY different meanings.
Question, did you understand what was being said, yes or no?
Alberta born and raised but now living in BC. Alberta may be a candidate to join the US, though it would work better at least initially as an independent but US-friendly nation. You can forget about BC though, it is as socialist as California, maybe moreso. There is no way BC would join the US and it is the most radical red/green jurisdiction in Canada aside from Quebec. The better bet by far is Saskatchewan, it is nearly as conservative as Alberta, and if Alberta leaves Canadian confederation there is a very good chance that Saskatchewan would join up with Alberta. The 2 would be a dynamic, ideologically conservative country and a strong ally and asset to the US. The rest of Canada is essentially a socialist shit hole.
Doesn’t Alberta have most of Canada’s oil reserves? If central Canada secedes, the rest of it will freeze to death clinging to the green agenda.
Over 65% of all Canadians vote the socialist line, liberals are socialist/communist, the n d p are the same, the blockheads in Quebec hate Canada and only stay because of the grift and their position at the public trough. The conservatives are liberal lite. Canada is a broken country and people, they no longer have a work ethic or moral values.
BC is as Liberal as they come. Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Yukon, where people understand the value and integrity of work (over gov handouts), will hopefully part ways with the rest of the country if the Liberal gov gets too cozy with China. They are already telling Ottawa that they will NOT participate in the gun confiscation- er buyback.
BC is already owned by China.
Yep, especially if their feckless pols cuddle up to China out of spite for the US. Maybe a few harsh years will bring them to their senses and they’ll elect rational leadership.
You nailed it! The Canadian leftists will reject everything about the US and run to China out of SPITE. Look at the leftists in the US. None of their policies make sense to the majority of Americans. They turn violent and hateful when challenged because they can’t defend their ignorant positions. Canada will do the same only on a broader scale.
you’re assuming that their elections are fair and honest
Any election run on a a computer should be assumed to be illegitimate. There is ZERO transparency in computer run elections.
Mandatory voter ID, one day, in person elections, indelible ink stamps on hands to indicate a person has voted. Votes counted by hand at the poll locations (not at a central location) on the same day.
We had this in the USA prior to the 1990’s and the elections were believable. Now they are all suspect.
No multi-day voting, no mail-in voting, no same-day voter registration, no voting machines
They mostly are. It’s the Canadian people that are the problem.
Canada uses Dominion Voting Machines, and the public for the most part, have never heard of any issues with those.
I would think PM Ford has already seen the harsh reality of his govt.
Ontario’s auto industry is collapsing as auto mfg is moving south.
Ford is not returning UniFor Prez urgent calls
We had ten harsh years under King Trudeau II and the retards in my country voted for more of the same.
I’m really sad that happened in your homeland. I almost think Carney is worse. Trudeau seemed to bumble his way into stupid decisions. Carney seems to make them quite deliberately. He seems to have motives that go beyond just grifting and getting reelected.
I work with the Chinese regularly, they want nothing to do with Canada other than to tap into their communication system so they can gain access to US communication systems that is about it. what people may think about the Chinese, particularly the CCP, is irrelevant because the CCP doesn’t fool around with garbage that doesn’t have results for them.
Bingo
monroe doctrine.
China on the US’s doorstep, lol, I don’t think so. We have just been watching the results of NATO (Ukraine/EU) knocking on the door of Russia and that ain’t turning out to well for the European absent minded inbreds, lol
The US will NEVER ALLOW Canada to be a satellite of the PRC and will take military action if needed to prevent that occurrence.
nope!
Depends who’s in charge. Trump wouldn’t allow it. Autopen would have been all for it.
Autopen would not have cancelled USMCA in favor of two bilateral agreements. So status quo would not have precipitated what is coming down the pike for Canada
This, and weather balloons agree.
I guess we’ll see what happens
it won’t be all of Canada that becomes a 51st 52nd or 53rd state. In my opinion, what we see will be individual provinces, reaching agreements ceding from Canada and joining the United States. first as a territory, then eventually as a state if they meet all of their agreements.
We are so used to ‘normalcy bias’.
So many of us think, that the ‘ways things are’ is the way they’ve always been – and will always be.
The people of Pompeii probably thought nothing would ever drastically change their daily routine.
The kings, emperors, and czars of Europe probably never thought their world of 1914 would ever radically change.
The communists who cobbled together the Soviet empire probably thought it would last and last.
The one constant,
Is
Change.
Canada has never taken care of itself militarily.
During WW2 we pulled way above our weight. It has been downhill since then.
It already is a chinese satellite country. It has been for over 30 years.
No, not the 51st State, but several. I really wouldn’t want a lot of the Eastern lefty ones, but many people of the Western provinces are fed up. Especially with the equalization payments that rob them of money they could use locally.
Like the U.S., the coastal areas are liberal.
A territorial possession at best.
China already owns BC and much of Ottawa. Go to Vancouver -the road signs are in Chinese -I was shocked!
That’s not something that can really be predicted or redirected. Trump is moving the economy to one of self-reliance. Even when I was a kid (I’m mid-50s now) I wondered why the USA was not more self-reliant. We factually have everything we need. Sure, we may enjoy Italian cars or various other luxury things but when it comes to running a nation that is self-reliant, the US is pretty well situated.
Trump has a magic wand and will bring full manufacturing back to the USA and when we get back to making chips and the latest new thing is made exclusively in the USA? We’ll have exports like you won’t believe.
For the short term (5-10 years) the US’s growth will be local and internal.
We don’t have practical AI. We have AI that hallucinates. The LLM was the first stage of AI development and it’s not bad, but reliance on it is a comical tragedy for anyone who tries. The Geospacial AI is the next stage that will lead to interesting transportation and delivery but also weapons I hope we never have to use. The stage after that will be closer to final, terminator level.
Canada will dissolve and parts or all of it will become part of the USA.
The reason for “global diversity” is to erase things like national identity. Canada’s national identity was weak from the start and it’s only getting weaker. Just one interesting kink the outgoing Canada may do…. return Canada’s land to the aboriginal tribes that remain in Canada. That would make joining the USA a little bit complicated unless a couple of those productive western provinces leave sooner rather than later.
Daniel, I like your assessment, and I don’t necessarily agree or disagree in whole. I do believe it is plausible. My comment is more focused on Canada giving land back to the original tribes, per se. I say let them do that. It only hurts them not us so I don’t care.
North America as a single political and economic entity would be a real power house. If only we can clean house of the illegals and welfare immigrants and religions that hate us. Then take back our individual freedoms.
Excellent food for thought, Daniel.
It’s a long unsupervised border. We, US, must figure out what to do with Canada for the sake of safety and security of US. It would be trillions spent to secure the North border. Canada is the shitty relative that the family must save so it does not destroy the whole family.
Judging on the number of Fentanyl ODs still happing all across the northern parts of the US, it would be a pretty safe bet that China is still supplying the chemicals to the Canadian labs which produce that poison
I disagree. We could bring all our service members home from overseas and have the northern border closed as tight as the southern border in a a matter of months. All those bases, equipment and personnel would do just fine strung along the border.
Rather than protecting other’s borders, lets do our own for a while.
An initial step, which would benefit both canada and the USA, would be for the USA to aggressively move to motivate all the canadians (including dual citizens) in the USA (owners, executives, workers, et al) to return the king’s realm.
Closing the border and securing it would also seem appropriate. Send all canadian diplomats packing; severe USA diplomatic relations with canada.
Perhaps such actions and more would incentivize the king’s subjects in canada to revolt and topple the “puppet” national government in ottawa. As well, the revolutionaries could arrest and imprison the governor general, who actually administers the territories of canada for the king (and all his OWG/WEF/EU comrades); and, terminate canada’s obligations to the commonwealth.
Then the “freed” canadians (or whatever they chose to call themselves) could sue for peace with the USA.
[Who knows, perhaps canadians would inspire the aussie and new zealanders to find their own sense of “self-determination”.]
We have resources that we and the world needs, not using them is criminal. Intellectual property means squat if you are cold, hungry and living in a tent in Canada.
> If these clowns stay in power, Canada will descend into third worldism.
Canada already is a third world country lol, you are a colony of China & India!
Chinese doctors execute the poor & sell their organs, Chinese mafias sell your people fentanyl & buy all your land.
Canada is not a real country, the Canadian people are not a real nation, you are just deluded slaves.
If you want to prove me wrong, then start preaching THE TRUTH to other Canadians, and bully the local cops into compliance.
Tell that to Silver!
