This is a remarkable story that has not gained significant attention. Late last week FBI Deputy Director Andrew Bailey, the Dept of Justice and various law enforcement agencies announced the indictment of two Mississippi Sheriffs, city police chiefs and more than a dozen police officers who were running drugs and taking bribes from Mexican drug cartels.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Norther District of Mississippi coordinated the indictments [SEE HERE]. U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner of the Northern District of Mississippi; Deputy Director Andrew Bailey of the FBI and Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff of the FBI Jackson Field Office made the announcement and held a press conference.
Apparently, what tipped off the feds was several arrested criminals complaining to state and federal law enforcement that local police were demanding bribes they could not afford. The Mexican drug cartels were paying up to $30,000 to the individual officers, sheriffs and police chiefs’ and the local criminals could not compete with that scale of bribery demand.
MISSISSIPPI – […] “Law enforcement is only effective when the community they protect can trust the law enforcement officers are honestly serving the community’s interests,” said Robert Eikhoff, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Jackson Field Office. “This type of corruption strikes at the heart of the community.”
Nineteen of the 20 people indicted are also charged with violating federal gun laws.
In addition to the two sheriffs, those charged include: Brandon Addison, Javery Howard, Truron Grayson, Sean Williams, Dexture Franklin, Wendell Johnson, Marcus Nolan, Aasahn Roach, Jeremy Sallis, Torio Chaz Wiseman, Pierre Lakes, Derrik Wallace, Marquivious Bankhead, Chaka Gaines, Martavis Moore, Jamario Sanford, Marvin Flowers and Dequarian Smith.
Court records show that the federal defender’s office is representing 16 of the 20 people charged, including the two sheriffs. (more)

Death penalty. I’m ok with their heads buried with them instead of on pikes after conviction and sentencing.
I have to agree with this.
The penalty for anyone in an elected position of one of public trust should be exactly twice that of an average citizen. IMHO
Wow, (2) Obama voters on the take, having no problem destroying children’s lives with illegal drugs.
What a shock.
I wonder how many people these “law officers” managed to kill? At least 80,000 people died of drug overdoses in the U.S. in 2024. Maybe we should have a death penalty option for situations like this.
80.000 ?
There are over 100.000 Americans killed yearly of fentanyl overdoses.
80,000 is a drop in the bucket.
Where’s Kash?!?
Sadly, I’d bet money that this isn’t unique to the delta. They were just dumb enough to get caught.
They got greedy for the Big Score and their dealer cohorts ratted them out because they couldn’t pay!
There’s a reason prisons are full.
That’s why enforcement isn’t better. I’m sure a lot more than law enforcement is in on the action.
And politicians.
🤷♀️El Chappo bragged about the number of politicians and
officials he had on payroll.
He may be in super max prison …but his…and the other cartels are
up and still running.
What do we think now about the troopers in 2022 who stopped Abrego Garcia with an expired license transporting illegal aliens in a car previously owned and used by a convicted smuggler?. No luggage was found for those passengers in the SUV.
The troopers did not arrest Garcia and did not pursue any investigation. Seems very suspicious that they did not arrest or detain Garcia but just let him go. The incident was later flagged and picked up by higher ups generating an investigation.
This is like the southern version of The Wire at this point.
SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEET.
Now this is a win, win.
A little bit of research shows that Gaston and Williams are democrats
Do you be jivin’ me?
Naw mhain, it do be like dat..
Naw Doggg ….. black bribes matter…..
That is wholly unsurprising.
And i betcha the rest of the officers arrested look juuuuussstt like these two
The names for the most part, say it all.
I could have saved you some time.
In Mississippi the locals are all Dimms.
Could we get a breakdown of the ethnicity of these people ?
You can guess, and that’s why this story hasn’t gotten more publicity.
I’m wondering how many of our DC politicians are on the take.
That is the question many are asking.
Thin blue line just got thinner.
Mexico’s federales and state police reflection in the rearview mirror; Sicario is real life.
There’s nothing thin about those two in the photos….
Despite Mississippi being the poorest state, they’ve obviously been eating “high on the hog”.
From observation, I long suspected collaboration between politicians, law enforcement and cartels especially in blue cities. I also suspect the politicians used the cartels to meddle in the 2020 election. Many judges too.
That big cartel boss testified in court to the money he gave Hillary and Co.
U.S. doesn’t have a drug problem, we have a democrats problem.
Fo Shizzle !
Between disrupting the drugs and the sex slaves, cracking down on illegals cuts HEAVILY into uniparty fundraising and “lifestyle” amenities…
It’s a safe bet that this sort of thing is quite common. The little hometown sheriff where I grew up (town of 500 in PA)? He was weirdly close to the drug dealers in the area. The town eventually fired him for corruption, but guess who his biggest advocate was?
The local newspaper editor.
It was only later, when the same town cop was arrested by the State Police for running a shakedown operation in the next town over, that the local paper admitted they had been wrong all along. Tore my hometown apart, they did.
The borough council of my hometown tried to warn the next town over, but was ignored. Largely because of the local newspaper / media influence.
They’re all dirty.
Next look at AZ and NM.
For sure ! Im in NM and read that it is one of 21 states refusing to give audit info to Feds on SNAP recipients.
Which made me wonder if many illegals here including cartels are getting hundreds of millions $$$ with kickbacks to the governor on down .
My Az American Mexican coworkers told me about
the Mexicans who lived “ across the line” that
would use family members addresses on the US
side and get SNAP benefits.
Co- workers were Not happy about it.
They also did the same to get into the Catholic school.
And co-workers were peeved because the school was
not taking students because it was full. And how those
across the line were preventing their children from going
to the Catholic school.
I saw it many times when I was at the border when school let
out…groups of them in their school uniforms walking through
the checkpoint.🤷♀️
I know in my neck of the woods….we still catch
some dirty ones now and then. But most of the
citizens and coworkers know what to look for.
And that really discourages most not to even try it.
Of course, there are always some really stupid people
out there.
I actually had coworkers who were caught
working part time🥴as coyotes…or drug mules
for the cartels.
And it is always sad to see people ruin their lives
and those of their families by taking the bribes.
Absolute stupidity.
Now what about the mayors, sheriffs and police chiefs and officers on the receiving end of the transactions? Guarantee you Memphis is NOT innocent.
If they wanted CIA jobs, they should have just asked.
They’re enhancing their resume before applying for a position with the world’s premier traffickers.
I wonder if all the cities where the National Guard has need to be deployed are on the receiving end of LEO assisted drug trafficking?
Get a load of some of the names of these perps.
Filed under “things that make you go hmmm.”
Marquivious and Dequarious? Good imaginations their moms had!
Banana Dequarious? Marquivious Maximus Dumbassiciss.
Those are some fine upstanding names right der.
I knew a NICU nurse that worked at Grady Hospital. The county hospital
for Fulton and Dekalb counties.
She took care of a preemie baby girl. I wish I was kidding, but the girl was
named “Syphllis”, because mom liked the way the word sounded.
Their moms are Roman.
And I’ll bet their moms are still Roman the streets at night.
They missed Defecatorious, he was chillin inda baffroom.
Yes, the FBI is so busy investigating crimes everywhere that they now have no time to investigate the crimes committed the last decade in the CIA, DOJ, White House, Senate, and even the FBI itself.
I mean where would we be if the FBI hadn’t broken up an illegal gambling ring that even the victims knew was illegal before they bet their money.
This is just the latest squirrel 🐿️ designed to give the appearance that the corrupt institution called the FBI is redeemable.
It’s not. It’s completely overrun with corrupt liberals that will do anything for a paycheck with no regard to the actual law they’re supposed to be enforcing.
But, but who’s going to monitor the PTA meetings?
Any involvement with the judiciary? I doubt the cartels changed their Mexican model for Mississippi.
Not just LE and judiciary, but politicos as well.
It’s likely the entire city government is involved. I wonder if these police officers will flip?
I wonder if they will live to go to trial.
Wonder how deep Soros is in this! How about all those AG’s that he and the Left funded! Don’t stop at the Sheriffs! Keep going up that ladder!
All sheriffs departments throughout the US should be nervous. If local law enforcement can be bought, they need to be treated to the same consequences.
Another tale of greed destroying the free market…
Now here’s a SURPRISE. NOT.
Thanks Biden. You worked with the cartels to bring in illegal votes.
“Apparently, what tipped off the feds was several arrested criminals complaining to state and federal law enforcement that local police were demanding bribes they could not afford.”
Apparently, criminals became stupid Karens.
Good one!
👏👏👍👍
“Dread. Truly dread.”
(….some Seagal movie…)
Tip of the Iceberg.. this happens across the Republic. Let’s ask the Spooks what they know..
They’re paying the cartels to pay the cops
Spooks will tell you all about that with some big stories! Almost believable!
Remember all the rumors around Jessica Chambers???
If you read the names of the PO PO involved you can certainly see that they are from one particular race.
When I saw the photos I realized why the media hasn’t reported on this huge story.
Exactly!
We had a sheriffs dept. sgt. who got caught forcing the lower ranking deputies who picked up the drugs from hospice deaths to turn the drugs over to him where they disappeared.
We had a county commissioner who kept up her drug habit by confiscating hospice pt. drugs after death of people in her county. Never found out who was telling her about the deaths, but was very surprised at the families handing the drugs over without questioning her.
They’re supposed to be accounted for by the hospice nurse, who comes and declares time of death, logs the drugs on paper, waits for funeral home to come retrieve the body.
Everybody on the take.
Pure ignorant greed. I wonder if these people realize the danger they and their families are in with the Cartels?
keep in the see aye eh is the world’s largest trafficker of weapons, drugs and humans
Let me guess, Boasberg will somehow assign himself the case and order the Sheriff’s and police chief reinstated.
The judiciary (attorney’s, judges, etc) is corrupt. A lot of law enforcement (especially through civil asset forfeiture- side note: I wonder if these departments did a lot of civil asset forfeiture “stealing”) is corrupt and/or too politically motivated to enforce laws. The politicians and election process in a lot of areas is corrupt.
I believe we will eventually prevail, but my God what an uphill battle.
I strongly believe a great many small money donations going to our politicians also come from the cartels.
Open borders was designed to let drug pushers and modern slavery flourish.
And for Americans to suffer.
Imagine if “Kamala” were in the Oval Office …
This Thanksgiving, we should be TRULY thankful for Divine Providence.
I see more of that now than ever before! People are “waking up” to this line of thinking! Spirituality seems to be gaining traction!
Corruption is under every damn stone, rock or pebble one might turn over. It’s disgusting…
Agreed, just appreciate the fact that more rocks and stones are being looked at a little differently now than ever before! Even sea shells /s
If the punishment is not worse than committing the crime, it ( crime ) will continue.
to illustrate: SunTzu the Warrior, was speaking to is troops when he heard chatter a few rows back. He arrived, and the miscreants were noted – he asked one to step forward – in the blink of an eye – his head was on the ground. Attention
was from then on rapt.
So goes the lesson.
Perhaps, but he didn’t have to deal with Laws that have almost always have a bent towards the wealthy and powerful.
Note every persons voting record – since the Gov. forms ask race – answer. This is in fact a sort of double crime –
The product will always meet the market. Always. The only thing that changes are the costs incurred, and the finished, delivered price. We all know this, and re-learned it with alcohol. I don’t know what the best solution is, but the drug war is a complete failure. Complete.
Bingo.
We need an adult conversation and policy that recognizes the reality of drug demands. Making all drugs illegal does not make them disappear and only enriches and empowers the cartels.
The drug war has been one of the nation’s worst and cynical policy failures of the past 50 years.
The streets and nation are full of all sorts of illegal and recreational drugs. They are **everywhere.** Anyone who thinks otherwise, and that incidents like the one described here are isolated and one-off, needs their head examined and is not paying attention. The reality is that every once in a while, someone gets caught doing something obvious and they have to get busted. The rest of the time, there is a monumental massive flow of drugs into the US from South America and elsewhere. Every day, every hour, thousands and thousands of paths and routes and planes trains and boats.
Drug demand is undeniable–like it or not. Its going to be provided by cartels, or by a government regulated / tested / taxed / documented system. It is one or it is the other and there is no third option.
We learned all this during Prohibition, these are irrefutable laws and principles and denying these realities just keeps the cartels in business money and power. They don’t care that these law enforcement guys were caught. It will have zero effect on drug supply flows they’ll just move it by different routes different people.
Time to cut off the cartels and legalize it all.
This is like. 1980’s A-Team episode script
This was inevitable. With President Trump cracking down hard on the smuggling of illegal drugs into our country, the Mexican / Colombia / Venezuela Drug Cartels needed to get creative again. Watch for the exact same bribery, threats, coercion, extortion operation to be happening in Texas and throughout the USA.
“Plata o plomo” the saying goes. Of course, U.S. law enforcement is strong enough that they can do their job and prevail (with the help of the Feds if necessary). But the “plata” is too shiny and the path of least resistance too easy for some.
Checks out.
Didn’t we recently discuss here at CTH how bad Memphis area crime is?
Light up some more Venezuela drug runner boats President Trump!
No country can long survive the level of drugs and corruption fron drugs we are experiencing.
Under Obama/Biden/AutoPen…..hundreds of hardened criminals were pardoned. That was not out of the goodness of their hearts. One thing is certain…….when the top guys sell you out, all the little guys join in. When Pelosi is the leading stock picker, the folks downstream start cheating too. When local law enforcement is paid off with drug money, the DC boys join in. The rot in this country is EPIC. And another month goes by that the biggest criminals are still walking around. Bondi and Patel…ZERO meaningful arrests. If there is no punishment for treason and sedition, we will get a lot more of it.
I can hear them now, we can’t arrest them during the holidays. We can’t arrest them due to the primaries…….we can’t arrest them for the good of the institutions. The institutions will remain, but the country will be dead.
People are dumb.
“beer is good and people are crazy.”
You know, every time you see an article about some city, county, or state employee doing anything illegal for money, it is 95 percent ALWAYS the “usual suspects”. It it not stereotyping people anymore. It is fact I have to say that I am surprised when I look at an article and they are…how do you say it?…WHITE. It seems to me we have a very “Dark” problem on our hands that will not be going away anytime soon….Call me what you will, but as Sundance says, stop pretending.
We can have cartels meeting drug demands in the US; or we can drop the failed ‘drug war’ and have a regulated/taxed supply overseen by government (as we do with alcohol).
Cartels, or legalization, there is no third option.
So many crimes, so little time!
Sadly, it’s too late to return in time to raise up better people from the last four generations.
I realize that it is Mississippi, but are there any lighter-colored faces involved? Asking for a friend.
Good to see that handsome fellow in the grey suit Andrew Bailey Deputy Director of the FBI (technically co-deputy director) on scene to make sure these turds are properly prosecuted.
The operations in Memphis are related as Memphis is in Shelby County:
Hmmm Martavius, Jaquarius? Where’s Mookie?
Mookavious is still on the run..
Are they still kickin’? Maybe changed their avatar.
The best part is the end of the trailer.
(Tom Cruise in American Made)
I am not shocked.
Did these two contribute to – which state and federal politicians. Follow the money.
Hmm. I guess we can wonder why it didn’t get significant attention.
Show us a photo of all of them Amish boys.
