It’s odd how no one in the American media seems to ask how Obama and Biden went from a friendly “reset” with Russia in 2009 to full geopolitical antagonism in 2011.
♦ What exactly led to the complete reversal of intent?
I digress…. However, having some deeper understanding of the current status of the conflict, I also find it curious how the New York Tims can just seemingly bury the lead in their story about how U.S-led military “mercenary” soldiers are on the ground fighting, while seemingly forgetting their prior outline about how the CIA was conducting all the military operations in the same area. Not funny, that.
“In Ukraine, Killings of Surrendering Russians Divide an American-Led Unit” – […] Hours after a battle in eastern Ukraine in August, a wounded and unarmed Russian soldier crawled through a nearly destroyed trench, seeking help from his captors, a unit of international volunteers led by an American.
Caspar Grosse, a German medic in that unit, said he saw the soldier plead for medical attention in a mix of broken English and Russian. It was dusk. A team member looked for bandages.
That is when, Mr. Grosse said, a fellow soldier hobbled over and fired his weapon into the Russian soldier’s torso. He slumped, still breathing. Another soldier fired — “just shot him in the head,” Mr. Grosse recalled in an interview.
Mr. Grosse said he was so upset by the episode that he confronted his commander. He said he spoke to The New York Times after what he regarded as unwarranted killings continued. It is highly unusual for a soldier to speak publicly about battlefield conduct, particularly involving men whom he still considers friends. (read more)
This type of ground report follows a pattern created by an incurious international media. There’s a reason why the State Dept and CIA control the narratives delivered by western stenographers. Meanwhile, the U.S. taxpayers are the ones funding the payroll for the “official” and “unofficial conflict.
If you don’t think Vladimir Putin is very well aware that he is fighting Americans in the USA proxy province called Ukraine, then you are infected with the current strain of pretending that has seemingly swept the west.
Russian President Vladimir Putin knows he is not fighting a Zelenskyy led Ukraine military operation. Spend some time in the forbidden zone and you will quickly learn that Russia is very clear-eyed about how USA forces are the proverbial unofficial boots on the ground, and they have been for years – long before Russia “invaded” their eastern neighbor.
KYIV — Ukrainian forces are pulling back along parts of the frontline under fierce Russian pressure; Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blamed the difficult situation on a lack of weapons for his soldiers.
That’s likely to increase pressure from Kyiv during next week’s NATO Washington summit for its allies to speed up arms deliveries.
“This is not a stalemate, but a problematic situation,” Zelenskyy told Bloomberg on Thursday. “A problem can be solved if there are tools and desire. We have the desire, but the tools have not arrived. We have brigades without weapons. We have 14 brigades that do not have the appropriate weapons that have already been voted on and talked about.” (read more)
In 2022, the New York Times published an article saying the CIA and Pentagon special forces are organizing and conducting the NATO war effort from a secret operation center in Kyiv.
Some viewed the article as the NYT violating operational security for the U.S. led effort. However, that perspective belies the nature of how the media is used in war by Dept of State and intelligence officials. The details of the Times article were attributed to “three U.S. officials,” and should be looked upon as purposeful for the intent of provocation.
♦ To answer the lead-in question….. Ultimately, if you drill down the conflict to its core and essential origin, you will find the USA spending several years in Ukraine on behalf of a small banking group who controls the ‘western’ global financial system.
If the bankers took no proactive action, the dollar-based global financial system was going to erode further. Take away the western financial system and the powers that inevitably control all global conflict would see their abilities diminish. Peace is not a lucrative enterprise for the continuation of assembled affluence.
You cannot have “world peace” and simultaneous retention of global financial control by a small group of benefactors. Independent wealth leads to hindsight questions amid those previously impoverished.
The solution to the historic truism? WAR!
And here we are!

Sundance:
Great article, but you do not tell us who the bankers are?
read about the bolshevik revolution in Russia, the take-out of ‘worker’s notes’ in germany, $34 trillion in debt (money stolen from the U.S.) and
Jakob Schiff and the Loeb Wall Street Firm raised $100 Million for the Bolsheviks!
There was funding out of the City also. Trailloads full of gold shipped from there and Switzerland on armored rail cars.
One Wall St Masonic group backed the Bolsheviks and another backed the National Socialists. The ultimate Hegelian Dialectic. Antony Sutton’s impeccable research backs it all up. You CJ should be able to figure out which Wall St group backed which side of their contrived war. It’s very easy to figure once its put this way.
….and sent it all by train from Bern (Switzerland) to St.Petersburg in diplomatic baggage in the April 1917… p*gs…

Curios to find out if that question, the what happened between the 2009 reset and the 2011 full geopolitical antagonism?
Hoping your recent trip to that part of the world may have uncovered whatever it was that went on behind the scenes to get us to where the world now is.
I assumed it had something to do with all those trips war-monger McCain took to Ukraine given his insipid hatred of Russia due to his, McCain’s, time in the Vietnam prison. Was it because he will ever be known as songbird he set out to make sure the world punishes his nemesis Russia even after his death?
But that’s just a guess given his hatred seems to have known no bounds even when it came to American citizens actual wants and needs, going out of his way (the thumbs down moment) when PDJT through Congress had that chance to fix the health care mess created by The One.
money and power, power and money…..champagne, caviar and prostitutes that is it…. period, super simple, we just have to drop all purchases other than from farmers, ranchers and local craftsman.

“Curios to find out if that question, the what happened between the 2009 reset and the 2011 full geopolitical antagonism?”
It is probably faked—a GREAT PUPPET SHOW to fool the masses in both countries. It is like all the capital, including entire factories, our big shots moved to CHINA. Those created the Superpower that is China. Our people even got their government to approve the creation of the SARS-COV-2 virus in the Wuhan laboratory, as such a move would require regime permission for US people to make business with any facility based in China for any purpose. Our State Department and Commerce Department is supposed to do that sort of thing for us.
These governments don’t have that much trouble getting along behind the scenes. If, every once in a while, peasants in both countries have to kill each other for a while, that doesn’t bother either government.
But: modern wars are not won by wonder-weapons. They are won by industrial production. Which we and Europe no longer do. But, Russia can. They didn’t “outsource” anything, and they don’t have to import anything.
Your “Almighty Dollar” is being phased out because of what YOU did. Stop and consider: how long would “real war” last before you ran out of … everything?
This is the first real war we have been involved in since WWII, when we had a massive industrial base and an educated labor force sufficient to operate it. We, and the EU, no longer have either. The myth of “wonder weapons” surfaces when regimes become desperate facing inevitable defeat. While our proxy vassal state of Ukraine is toasted, the takeaway is sobering. Our weapon systems are proven to be 2nd rate, and the Russians are gaining critical experience in technolgy for improving theirs. The rapidity with which they are able to integrate improved technology into mass scale production and deployment for use at the Line of Contact is remarkable. There is no doubt they will share these technologies with China, Iran and North Korea.
Not to mention a strong and diversified small-farmer agricultural base, instead of the tenuous, globalized hydra we now have.
Couldn’t agree more on how tenuous our agriculture system has become. The loss of family owned and operated farms to corporate also has led to disintegration of extended family sovereignty, cohesiveness and overall societal decay.
Ukraine isn’t in NATO or the P.U.
The war on DVEs(domestic violent extremists) is a real war.
Wow! How pathetic what this country does to its heroes and everyday people!
The almighty dollar is a federal reserve note. It’s written at the top.
Forever wars are not meant to win. Everyone knows Raisin.
Inflating notes pays back debts cheaper. Helicopter Ben.
If the CCP shuts off the dollar stores, we’re all doomed.
I’ve pondered that pivot regarding relations with Russia for years. They went from Hillary and her button and State Dept pushing the sale of Uranium company in the US, and their reserves to Russia to a coup (color revolution ) in Ukraine by 2014. Red line in Syria and ISIS, overthrowing Qaddafi, … lots was going on and all of it very aggressive.
China wants the empty space of Russia.
Is that why China is buying up American farmland, funding subversive organizations on college campuses, setting up military installations in Cuba, Panama, possibly Mexico and other places near our shores, bribing the Bidens and spying on or compromising other American politicians instead of Russia??
Bingo BK! 👏
At the present time Russia is very useful to China as is. Russia supplies China with all the reliable and cheap energy, agricultural and mineral resources needed, along with sharing advanced military technolgy. In turn, China is able to mass produce weapons on a scale the west cannot cope with. Controlling the entire Eurasian landmass allows for un impeded trade, safe from interdiction of hostile powers. Sea lanes, which we rely on, are easily disrupted. It is impossible to predict the future, but for now our leadership has caused a generational alliance impervious to our manipulations.
Proof positive that our politicians are selfish, stupid, short-sighted fools. We will be paying for their perfidy and foolishness for generations.
I want the empty space in my wallet back from mooches, marxists, and migrants.

Seriously. Fake News Junky.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the mask is off. Behold the demons who are running this country.”
They should all have cloven hooves.
And as for Americans killing POWs and wounded trying to surrender, executions for war crimes. Few acts are as atrocious as murdering those who are captive.
The spawns of Lucifer!
Hi friend Mims, your description may not be that far off. It goes way way back.
Omgosh I’m so happy to see you, I’m crying 🥹
this is total BS (as usual) from Graham. There is nothing particularly unique about Ukraine minerals – they have coal and iron ore. Both are plentiful elsewhere. U.S. ideologues frequently make bogus claims about mineral resources to motivate reluctant colleagues to back their crazy neocon schemes. But where are the geological reports to back up Graham’s BS?
Why can’t we just buy them from Russia like we buy everything from China? LOL.
How we get a creep like Graham (staining the Montrose descendants) as a long standing “Senator” is a great example of the whole corrupted/criminal/treasonous IC controlled political charade masking as a government of the people.
SC has a huge MAGA majority and has been stuck with him and many other clowns like him. Did the real story of SC “patriot” congressman Jeff Duncan come out to the Treehouse? Colkitto! I’m ecstatic to have you back!
Ty for your warm welcome my long time friend here. You’ve always been a pleasure to communicate with. Ty for that.
It’s because SC has Clyburn, open primaries, and that certain kind of Southern corruption that would make Boss Tweed blush.
Very true Missy, I think I’m going to dump SC info here soon. My regards
You are correct!!
Correct! Columbia good ole boys. Yes we are stuck with Graham & Clyborn

The Royal Scots Greys and Russia | Foreign & Commonwealth Office
The most striking symbol of the relationship with Russia is the fact that Tsar Nicholas II was Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Scots Greys from 1894 until his death. Queen Victoria appointed him Colonel-in-Chief on the occasion of his wedding to Victoria’s granddaughter, Alexandra Feodorovna. Tsar Nicholas wore the uniform when he visited Queen Victoria at Balmoral in Scotland in 1896. The Scots Greys played a prominent role in the visit, escorting the Tsar when he disembarked at Leith and later when he arrived at Ballater railway station.
The death of the Tsar in 1918 ended the relationship with the Royal Scots Greys until 1998 when the remains of the Tsar and other family members were interred at the Peter and Paul Fortress in St Petersburg. There were nine coffins containing Tsar Nicholas and his wife, Alexandra, three of the Tsar’s four daughters – Anastasia, Olga and Tatiana – and Alouzy Tropp, the Czar’s valet, Eugene Botkin, the royal physician, Ivan Kharitonov, a cook, and Anna Demidova, a lady-in-waiting. The remains of the Tsar’s other two children, Alexei and Maria have yet to join the family at their resting place in the Peter and Paul Fortress. President Yeltsin attended the service as did his Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent. The then commanding officer of the Scots Greys (by then known as the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards), Colonel Andrew Phillips, and three colleagues, also flew into Russia the day before to participate. They took a prominent part in the service. An icon of Tsar Nicholas was presented to the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

Interesting. Thanks..

The Obama/Biden Communist regime and our State Department has transformed our country into the EVIL EMPIRE that President Reagan feared, whilst the MEDIA and the GOPe slept.
I don’t think the media and the GOPe slept. I think they were complicit in the whole thing. And you have to include the Clintons and Bushes along with Zero and Bribem.

For anyone following the conflict through the eyes of Ukrainians and Russian participants in their telegram posts, which are created in the hundreds on a daily basis, the presence of American officers and servicemen (along with French, British and Poles) was never a “secret”. Videos of Ukranians murdering Russian POWs have been published by the units themselves. In Mariupol, the last Azov holdouts trapped beneath the industrial plant shot and burned the bodies of dozens of US, French and British officers before surrendering. They failed to burn all the passports which were published. At least 3 underground bunker NATO command posts have been eliminated by Khinzhal missile strikes killing hundreds. Along with the crews of dozens of Patriot, ATACOM, HIMAR and Taurus weapon systems taken out. This is the most covered war in history, with unfiltered real time events documented and accessible directly by the public 24/7. There is no excuse for anyone to feign ignorance or be manipulated by propaganda.
Sundance, do you have an answer or speculation about the question you posed?
What exactly led to the complete reversal of intent?
…looks more like a who than a what….
I can answer that.
They finally came to the realization that Vladimir Putin was not going to play ball with their intent to carve up Russia for it’s resources in service to Blackrock, et al.
Yes–also Syria.
The other question is why State Dept./NYT is publicizing this now.
Perhaps to normalize the war where our general was just killed?
ps; where is the Abu Gharib Outrage(tm)?
Does the public acknowledgement of American boots on the ground change how we view the constant requests for more money?
In a sane world – long gone – this activity would have required action from Congress.
A Parliament of Wh0res, who refuses to do an annual, MANDATED, appropriated budget; exercise it’s constitutional prerogative to declare (or NOT declare) war; excise the gross corruption in its midst; impeach the installed “president” & his coup-conspirators; refuse to forbid insider trading … Ad nauseum.

….Victoria Nuland….
The corporate elite in the United States and the UK worked hard through the Great Depression to export capital and jobs to the Soviet Union just as soon as FDR recognized the regime in Moscow. Here is how the bonanza in industrial might helped make the Soviet Union (now the Russian Federation) a ranking Superpower starting in the 1930s:
FORD MOTOR COMPANY—Constructed an entire automotive plant in Goki, Russia. In addition to automobiles, the Russians produced military vehicles including armored cars and tanks. The results can be read in the official WAR DEPARTMENT manual, “Identification of Foreign Armored Vehicles: German, Japanese, Russian, Italian, and French” dated June 30, 1941 in Section IV
Armored Car Engines:
BA Bronnieford Number 7 Armored Car–FORD ENGINE
Bronnieford 6 Wheeler—FORD ENGINE
BA Ford Amphibian—FORD ENGINE
Tank Engines
T-27—FORD or CHEVROLET
T-26–ARMSTRONG-SIDDELEY (UK)
T-28–VICKERS-ARMSTRONG (UK)
There were many factories built by US firms in the Soviet Union of the 1920s and 1930s. All of them were primarily used to make weapons. It wasn’t just the US firm which had its name on the product the plant was supposed to produce, such as tractors at the Chelyabinsk works which CATERPILLAR TRACTORS had built. There were subcontractors involved in the construction and produced many of each factory’s components and provided the engineering and personnel who trained Russians to run the factories.
Ford Motor Company—Gorki, Russia “automotive plant” and the Kharkov “tractor” plant.
Caterpillar Tractors—Largest tractor plant in the world at the time of its construction. First finished products were tanks. The Russians used mostly tracks on their tractors so that the assembly line could swiftly move from tractors to tanks and other armored vehicles. Another Caterpillar plant was constructed with the aid of 80 US firms to produce the T-37 tank. This plant was delivered in component parts and assembled in a building supplied by McClintock and Marshall company in Stalingrad. Albert Kahn, Inc. designed the plant while the Forge Shop was R. Smith, Inc. design. Those are not Russian names.
Without steel, tanks are impossible, so the largest steel plant in the world was constructed in the Soviet Union. Shortly after Stalin took power, he developed his “GOSPLAN” to expand the Russian economy starting with his plan for a “Steel Triangle.” American firms contracted with the Stalin regime to get “Gosplan” off the ground. The leading firm was Albert Kahn, Inc. of Detroit, Michigan, the designers of most of the US automotive industry. Kahn’s plans for Stalin were huge, emphasizing the construction of electrical equipment to feed the next wave of construction of finished product plants, such as steel and automotive works that require high-capacity generation of electricity. Kahn’s URALS ELMASH plant multiplied Russian electrical equipment by 7 times. General Electric’s factory in Kharkov produced large generators to aid in producing electricity for future Soviet manufacturing facilities like the largest steel plant in the world at that time, a copy of the US Steel Gary, Indiana works.
US firms like Nitrogen Engineering and Dupont brought the Soviet military-industrial complex the ability to mass produce refined nitrogen, a necessary component for high explosives and ammunition of all kinds, from artillery shells, aerial bombs, and small arms ammunition. The Czarist regimes could not mass produce refined nitrogen, but US firms solved that problem for Stalin and future Soviet and Russian Federation regimes.
Great article! However, you asked but didn’t answer why “Obama and Biden went from a friendly ‘reset’ with Russia in 2009 to full geopolitical antagonism in 2011.” I suggest it was the Clintons who drove the reset scenario to facilitate their Uranium One deal which was consummated in 2010. And I would argue that “full antagonism” with Russia wasn’t reached until 2013 when Russia banned “gay” propaganda to children in direct defiance of Obama’s prioritization of his global LGBT normalization campaign launched by presidential memorandum on 12/6/11.
Remember all of the farmers protests in the EU, where the tractors were blocking traffic, etc.
It was REPORTED that (lies, half truths) the farmers were protesting green requirements, like limiting their use of nytrogen fertiliser, diesel fuel and pestisides,..only partly true.
Ukraine farming operations were exempt from those EU restrictions, to “support Ukrain” (eyeroll) hence Ukrainian grain and produce could be sold for less, undercutting the EU farmers, and driving them out of business.
And, it really wasn’t “helping” Ukraine, as here, the Ukrainian farmers had presold their harvest (as in commodities futures) before the seeds went into the ground.
Sold to Cargill, ADM, Monsanto, who are all owned by Blackrock/Fidelity/State Street,…who set this whole thing up so that they could drive the EU farmers out of business, and buy up the farms at pennies on the $.
So, ONE aspect of the Ukraine operation is a LAND GRAB, and just another way these demons are profiting off of the war.
