The superior court is the first level court in New York. The case has not yet risen to an appellate level. I don’t think the US Supreme Court would review a case until it has been appealed in the current jurisdiction.

The New York court system is oddly named. There is the Supreme Court- Trial Division, the Supreme Court-Appellate Division, and then the highest court, the Court of Appeals.
In other states (NJ, PA, for example), the Superior Court is the next level up from the trial court.

Celebrities such as DeNiro aren’t used to getting crowd reactions like this. The horsesht they espouse in their delusional bubbles is done to feed their fragile egos and dysfunction. They get slobbered over and praised in their usual milieus by underlings, suckups, and fans, even for irrational nitwit political commentary.
Movie stars especially thrive on this; love their parties and self-congratulatory awards shows because their performances are not before a live audience. Many apparently believe the fiction in the movies and tv shows has realistic portrayals of the world and people outside Hollywood.
