The Biden team thought it would be a good idea to showcase the politics of the prosecution; go figure.
Supporting the effort was the washed-up actor Robert De Niro, known in acting circles as Hollywood’s tallest midget (video below). The fact the judge did not sequester the jury … is a legit concern.
Lots of pressure and threats could have been applied over the weekend to the jury.
I pray there is at least one honest person on that jury. It’s probably not the 2 lawyers who will be persuasive.
On page 3 of comments to this article, someone posted a Mark Levin tweet about Trump being able to go to the Supremes. It’s an interesting read & made me feel a little better about a potential conviction.
1. The NY case is NOT the only case that could put Trump in prison. The GA case as well as the Florida case are both criminal cases that have serving time as consequences.
2. It is discussed regularly on these pages why the Florida case is the most important = the evidence of government wrongdoing in the 11″ binder.

I keep coming back to the 2 lawyers that are supposedly on the jury. Having gone to law school and passed a Bar exam, I wonder how they could go with any verdict beyond ‘not guilty’ if relying on their professionalism.
If the 2 lawyers remain anonymous, then their unethical behavior won’t cost them.

They have to take at least one Constitutional Law class. Criminal law, federal jurisdiction & Rules of Evidence classes, etc., all take you back to the role of the Constitution.
It is a matter of due process that a defendant know the charges he’s accused of & the judge is dead wrong on the jury instruction that jurors need not agree on the underlying crime (tax evasion, campaign finance, etc.) that’s behind an expired misdemeanor.

Dear De Nimrod – If you have to lie to make your point, you don’t have a point. Tell us again about the riot inspired by T without detailing how he did it without saying or doing anything to cause it, let alone inspire it. I’ve only read short summaries of the closings, but I think Trump’s attorney did two clever things, and the prosecutor at least one stupid thing.
One, Trump’s lawyer Blanche gave the jury a list of ten reasons to acquit Trump. People remember lists, because the sequence of numbers can trigger precise memories with each number. And, IIRC, Merchan let the jury take notes, so I’d guess, when the lawyer started with “Reason #1,” some started writing.
Two, he put the most provocative statement at the end. It s very rare that a closing is interrupted by the other lawyer, but it can happen. So Blanche waited until the end to bring up putting Trump in prison (and he used that word). The prosecutor objected, the judge admonished Blanche and told the jury to disregard it. Some may follow the judge’s orders, while others…
And the prosecutor? He said that Michael Cohen had “suffered”?? A lawyer who knows what perjury is, and got caught? A lawyer who embezzled more than some jurors might make in a year, and was never prosecuted for it?
“Cry me a river” may have gone through a few jurors’ minds.
