Pavel Durov is the founder, owner and CEO of Telegram, a communication platform used by 900 million people globally to text, chat and video message privately with encryption security. Telegram is an excellent tool for safe communication and has been used by me and others I know for several years.
In this interview Tucker Carlson discusses privacy and freedom in the modern era with Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov, a former citizen of Russia who was encouraged (under threat) by the Russian government to leave his country. Pavel now lives in Dubai and operates Telegram from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
For me personally, this is one of the best interviews I have watched Tucker Carlson deliver. Part of the reason is the content of the discussion is exactly critical right now in the era of this global information war.
There is so much I could discuss from this interview alone it is remarkable; however, I want to focus on two specific points as highlighted: (1) the government interface, and (2) the geopolitical inversion currently underway. WATCH:
First, I am in Russia. I arrived a few days ago, and this experience is a visit through bizarro world. I will be sharing more, including an AMA on my experience in the next few articles. Back to Pavel Durov, first…
The BASELINE – The Durov brothers are exceptionally gifted. In reference to the principle of freedom and liberty that guides Pavel, he has my respect and I understand his value system with great clarity. Pavel Durov recognized very early, much earlier than most, that information would be fulcrum challenge, and without private communication the value of information is always eroded. Privacy is critical in order for accurate information to flow. That is the value of Telegram.
I continue to receive strong negative opinion for my cynicism of Elon Musk. However, pay close attention to what Pavel Durov says about his contacts with U.S. government officials and you will have a stronger baseline to understand part of why I do not trust Musk.
♦ THE TOUCHES – Durov controls Telegram. Durov is the owner and proprietor of Telegram. Durov talks openly about the *touches* from U.S. intelligence and government officials toward him and his communication platform. He is very open about the contacts by FBI and various intel officials, and notes those conversations were always unnerving.
Now, we ask ourselves: why have we never heard Twitter owner/operator Elon Musk talking about this issue.
Beyond the decade plus of independent research on these issues, we get a very good context for how the IC approaches and interacts with the communication platforms from this interview with Pavel Durov. What he shares does not have to be taken at face value because we have background with which to review it. Everything he said aligns with all the research on these issues we have previously discussed. Quite simply, he’s telling the truth as we know it to be.
That said, where is this conversation from Elon Musk? Where is Musk discussing the government contacts and intentions of the intelligence apparatus, FBI, DHS and various Intelligence Community institutions toward the Twitter platform.
I cannot overlook that Elon Musk was talking about the importance of user privacy and security at the exact same time he was secretly complying with the DOJ to give the metadata of all Donald Trump supporters from his platform. These things do not reconcile, and I refuse to pretend this conflict does not exist.
♦ The INVERSION – I call the change in freedom and liberty values West to East an inversion. Pavel Durov does not note this directly, but he outlines the basic issues within his discussion and experience.
For decades the USA and proverbial “west” transmitted messages of freedom and liberty into the “east.” We are all familiar with radio and television broadcasts, and specifically the content therein, from the free West that were blocked by what we called the oppressive East.
There are millions of stories, movies and books written describing how the west tried to send communication to the east showcasing the value of free markets, liberty, and freedom in general. However, in the past 20 years, since the advent of the internet something very curious has happened.
I can tell you from personal experience that now it is the WEST who are blocking the ability of the people from the EAST to receive the message. If you in the EASTERN zone (grey) and you attempt to engage in several communication platforms that connect to the WESTERN zone (yellow), you are more likely to find yourself blocked by the WEST.
Why would the USA or western alliance block the ability of those outside the west to engage with their platforms? One could make the argument they are putting walls around the USA/WEST not to keep the East out but to keep the west locked-in to a specific narrative.
In the example of Russia, I originally thought the blocking issue was exclusive to banking and finance; however, the restricted interface extends beyond those explainable by sanctions. In the modern communication era, some information is more equal than others.
What Pavel outlines about the Russian government asking him for data on users, is identical to what the Twitter files outlined about the U.S government asking the platform for users. Pavel refused to participate; Jack Dorsey willingly participated.
More to follow…
Outstanding!
👉This analysis by Sundance regarding information blockades by “Western” governments is a similar control mechanism within our current AntiConstitutional Bureaucracy as has also been diagnosed by Sundance with these 😈infernal “information silos” used to exert communication and information control over our Citizens 👈
✅️Thanks Sundance for the SitRep and continued prayers 🙏 for your safe return home 🏡 👍👌
Here is a great article that outlines how the US is planning to regulate tech companies so that they are more in line with a “global agenda”.
“Progressive Antitrust’s Agenda Is a Perverse Rx for a Nation in Debt”
Excerpt:
hard-left American Economic Liberties Project and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), who argue that domestic regulation of Big Tech is thwarted by the robust presence of these Americans companies in world markets. Gone is the long-standing U.S. opposition to forced data localization and the mandatory transfers of intellectual property. Tai is giving her nod to a balkanized internet that will give despots the power to wrest source codes from U.S. tech companies to the detriment of America’s competitiveness and foreign democracy activists. Even Senator Ron Wyden (D., Ore.) called the move “a win for China, plain and simple.”

It’s becoming pretty clear the US might be, or be the backbone of Great Harlot Babylon of the Bible
The Communists / Globalists have targeted the West and have created Totalitarian government within the cultural norms and institutions of the West
This Western Communism first target is the domestic foundational citizen, especially the middle-class
i.e. European Christian patriot national Democratic Republic loving foundational populations are being destroyed
an replacement invasion is accelerating and these new arrivals are being used to economically displace and soon physically attack en masse
internationally, the West is committing suicide and becoming a clown world suicide cult and the entire world is hating us
This is exactly what happened in Russia and China and all the other “Communist Revolutions”
destroy the domestic enthic groups and the national culture, give away your country domestically and internationally, become a pariah for 70 years
that’s where we are heading
see Richard Poe, the author of the Shadow Party, the first serious book about how George Soros is an op by the City of London. The City of London doesn’t want the USA as super power, they want a balance of power, and so USA, China, Russia, BRICS all need to be constantly competing and the USA must be systematically and continuously sabotaged

Thanks for this astute observation and the link.
I have some experience with Californian Communism, unfortunately
Ah, the City of London and its ancient corruption from the Venetian Republic. This “Da Vinci Code” wealth never seems to be far from the scene of today’s political crimes.
I wish they had stayed in the Adriatic.
Freedom of INFORMATIONAL flow was the FIRST and foremost of our Constitution.
People misconstrue the meaning of “free press” to refer to the media/newspapers/journalists but what it is actually referring to is the ability to freely disseminate information, and the press is referring to the printing press, i.e. the ability to print and spread information freely. Technology has made it to where anybody with a phone/camera can do journalism which is a threat to the government. Not just to their propaganda, but sooner or later people extrapolate being their own journalist to being their own law enforcement in lieu of the government being derelict in enforcing existing laws.
Yrs, it did start with the Guttenberg press.
Prior to it, books and knowledge were rare, prescious things reserved for the Church and upper classes.
And knowlege was POWER, as the illiterate populace were dependent on the priests, for access to the Word.
When the internet was first rolled out, many wrote of how it was a disruptive technology, and just as Fords model T impacted horse and wagon, the internet would reduce/eliminate newspapers, MSM, and the Entertainment industry, with predictions of not only citisen journalists, but citisen movie/tv show makers and musicians.
Thing is, people are creatures of habit, and if the content providershadn’t gone woke, the vast majority would have probably been content to continue to get their news/info, commentary, entertainment and mudic from the MSM and studios.
Its their insistence on shoving woke garbage down the throats of an audience that, as much as anything, has created the market for, and therefore providers of “alternative” programming, both in news/commentary (MAGAMEDIA) in Movies/entertainment (Sound of Freedom) and music Joe McDonald, Oliver Anthony, etc.
If they weren’t so blatantly spying on us, there wouldn’t be such a premium put on apps that are encrypted.
In the end, they can not win,…its just in the interim that they make gains.
But, like holding a fresh caught fish, the tighter they grip,…
I am sure that cave and rock drawings also had problems with truth because some tribes did it to help others and others overwrote to conquer. Egyptian hieroglyphs are known to have been censored concerning Tutankhamen and his change in god worshiping.
There is still one belief system on Earth where the majority of its followers are dependent on receiving knowledge from their clergy… islam.
100 percent accurate.
Cat and mouse?
What good is a free press if one can’t read? (historically speaking)
What good is a free press if the fabric for processing information (the foundation an education system is supposed to provide) is itself controlled/manipulated?
What good is a free press if the family structure that is supposed to inculcate foundation moral values and self-control is broken?
The egalitarian Left/Socialist wing of “thought” may be populated by mediocre idiot ideologues, but it nevertheless knows how to wreak chaos in any society.
Leftists reply, “Freedom of speech is not freedom of reach.”
The founding fathers were very, very farsighted.
The Founding Fathers were fairly well-read and educated about matters in the Bible. As a result they were mostly fairly devout Christians. That baseline of strong faith is what influenced all of their deliberations surrounding the establishment of our nation, its most preferable type of government, and the Constitution that would outline how the government would operate. Central to all of that was the individual citizen’s sovereignty and Divine Rights.
” Pavel now lives in Dubai and operates Telegram from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).”
So he now has more freedom there than in Russia or the USA.
Debatable. I have friends who have lived in the UAE for 30 years. But to pretend it is full of freedom is a joke. You have freedom as long as you don’t step out of line.
We have relatives that located their from the U.K. approximately thirty years ago “they saw the writing on the wall”
Cleanliness and order is the name of the game…is much preferred by many than the “ freedom” of say Jan 6 hostages, or President Trumps “ Lawfare “ handcuffs “
Or the stench of human excrement of S.F. etc.
Cheers!
And you maintain that freedom as long as you have the wealth to do so.
Funny that President Trump is quite wealthy, likely several of the J 6 hostages too.
Peter Navarro as well.
Naw…The U.S is corrupt t9 its core!
I will forever be indebted to President Trump for exposing this.
Cheers!
My sentiment exactly. A deeply religious Muslim country. They let the westerners live in their isolated bubble and spend their money.
But speaking of Durov, it doesn’t matter where he lives. His sponsors or, better, handlers decided that Dubai is good for them.
The entire conversation about freedom in context of Durov and Telegram is as preposterous as the drivel and nonsense we used to hear from our fellow conservatives about the “White Knight” Elon Musk.
I am certain Pavel Durov has more than one Linda Yaccarino-type chaperone.
Pavel has freedom in the UAE because he’s a man and willing to obey the local Islamic customs. Let’s not pretend that it’s a bastion of freedom of there.
And he is unlikely to challenge his handlers when they tell him to remove content that doesn’t align with their domestic interests and propaganda.
However, Telegram is great if you live in the United States as you are unlikely to be de-platformed or censored for dunking on the USG and IC.
I seriously doubt it. Same handlers, same funding, unless you believe that Santa and his flying reindeers are real…
None of these people is free, not Pavel, not Elon (particularly Elon), not Jack, not Mark, not Sergei or Larry. They all have been funded by a state actor. The only difference is in that actor’s allegiance.
However, Durov is undoubtedly one of if not the most talented of the bunch.
And yes, the real owners of Telegram don’t care about us posting something that angers, humiliates, exposes or simply undermines the USIC or the puppet theater known as the White House. You can use Telegram to dunk on the USG and any other western government with no fear of being censored, shadow-banned, or cancelled by that particular platform, which makes it more valuable for those of us who live in the U.S. and disagree with the current regime.
The freedom he has in Dubai is the freedom to operate his business the way he wants to. He did not find that in Germany, Singapore, the USA or UK.
Very likely true.
But how is that measured?
You’ll get no flack from me re: Elon Musk. I never trusted his word about anything.
(1) He owns slaves by Chinese proxy. (2) He’s a gubmint welfare queen. (3) He’s a transhumanist.
I’ve never used twatter, fakebook, instagram, reddit, telegram or any of the others… including Truth Social & won’t going forward regardless of who owns the platforms.
Now I’m off to listen to that interview…
It’s still pretty censored, they just TELL you how they censor you now, you don’t have to guess.
Elon Musk is in a long line of people that get the “trust but verify” treatment. I still think his “free speech platform” is a setup for Conservatives to get comfortable and say things that will get them a predawn knock.
Elon shut down the ability for non twitterers to read.
🤨 Clearly, he does not really want the free-flow of information; so , he cut it off, using membership-money as his excuse.
Shame on Elon! 🤥
Especially onerous considering Twitters looming role as an information source and communications medium during natural disasters, something I remember well during the summer of violence and, in CA and OR, among other states, the trials by fire.
Twitter was often the primary contemporaneous method of law enforcement and other first responders to get their message out to ordinary citizens. I listened in on their radio communications but many folks don’t have that interest or capability. Twitter mattered.
We’ll adapt and overcome. It’s in our nature 🙂
No, he reserves the right to charge for his service, and that’s perfectly OK … In a free market. Or do you want everything for free?
If Elon is sincere about the freedom (and the importance) of information to the general public
he had no reason to cut off reading to non-posters.
Curious to know if x membership increased by ending the free reading.
You can always ask him. But he’s not obligated to provide things to people for free… He’s running a business.
And one of the reasons he did is because of the “scrapers”, free readers who took loads of data for questionable purposes.
I was disappointed about it, too. But I won’t sign up because I got kicked off three times before, LOL. It’s his prerogative.
Elon raised rates because of AI data scraping.
I’m not inclined to do either one with Elon or twatter.
They all seem to want to invade my privacy & make a $1 off their invasion. I’m a hard no on that.
I’m with you, mom. Never had social media and don’t miss it at all.
I also know a lot more than most people who use these platforms. That right there should tell us something.
Whenever they herd us together the motive is clearly for control, not camaraderie. And oh.. I need neighborhood watch groups like I need a hole in the head. Just sayin 👀
What exactly remains to be verified? Elon Musk gets praised for saying things normal people get imprisoned for. Like the teacher’s pet who just gets frowned at for things other students would get detention for. You don’t have to know the details to know there is an unfair relationship there.
Dead on. Just look at Elon’s other businesses. He would have gone bankrupt overnight if he decided to make a move unsanctioned by the IC and USG.
The difference between Musk and Durov is their allegiance.
Both are talented, both are anything but free…
Ironic that SD is likely safer in Russia than in the U.S.
Yes, but only because he isn’t trying to go against their government (not that I’m telling him to, I’m a non-interventionist).
Only because he poses less of a threat to TPTB in RUSSIA, than he does to TPTB in the U.S.
I am reminded of all those who moved from NYS to “the Free State of Florida” because they fell for the CON that was the DeSantis P.R. Campaign.
Also, notice Pavel states openly that he DOES comply with requests from Governments, when he agrees with the reasoning.
Which means he is still engaging in Censorship, and even if its for something universally recognised as abhorent, like pedophilia, he is still trusting that the info being provided to him is accurate.
And, Musk could say he is doing the same thing.
“even if…he is still trusting” Excellent point that we all need to keep in mind regarding all news sources.
Initial reports were that
the Crocus Hall terrorist
attack was arranged through
Telegram.
If he was presented with
an official request, combined
with evidence that he could
aid in the investigation …..
I would not hold it against
him if he released the needed
information.
… like pedophilia which is a criminal offense in non 7th century cultures.
Censorship of that which is criminal isn’t a bad thing. Is he supposed to leave it in place until there’s a conviction?
Dead on and accurate. Bottom line: we can use Telegram in the U.S. to dunk on USG and USIC without fear of being banned by Durov.
I hope Sundance has a long, but quiet, chat with ES.
Durov has the safety of living far from the US govt.- in the UAE. Musk lives in Texas, I believe, so is subject to the current tyranny of the US govt against him and/or his children, if he stands up too much against them. Musk has to practice a pretty tight balancing act i believe.
It is the NEED to practice a “balancing act” that is INFURIATING! WHAT HAVE WE COME TO?
After a recent posting, I am attempting to self-censor, out of a concern NOT for myself, so much as for this site, ..THATS what we have come to!
I really enjoyed a certain survival oriented blog with a very active comment section, much like the CTH. The commenters were on-line friends and shared prepping, gardening, survival tips and life stories.
The comments on the blog just suddenly stopped one day, with no explanation. I queried the owner who wrote back that the comment section just took too much of his personal time, so he just stopped. I understood, yet I felt somewhat bereft of a source of information and fellowship.
My point in bringing this up is that the CTH comment section could also one day meet the same fate, due to any number of reasons.
I think we all should be as wise and thoughtful about our comments, as you have indicated.
The preservation of the opportunity to read and comment here is greatly cherished.
This….but not just for practical reasons.
Uninhibited free speech is a chimera.
There has to be individual responsibility as well.
I used to appreciate your”derp” comment. Sigh.
In the grandest irony of all…is Biden really a succubus? Which, with a one letter change, comes dangerously close to what he really stands for?
Tyranny. Beria. “Show me the man, and I’ll find you the crime”.
Particularly if he doesn’t want to lose his gumbint welfare.
Musk is not a White Knight. Never was, and neither is Durov.
Go with God, Sundance, and thank you again for all you do to open the eyes of so many.
🙏🏻 for your safe travels.
I’m only partway through this interview but heartily agree it is worth the time.
I am looking forward to watching this interview – I share Sundance’s concerns about Elon Musk and his motivations, even though I like many of his publicly stated positions. Frankly, I feel the same way about Tucker Carlson…even as I watch his interviews, some of which are excellent, I just can’t figure out if he really believes what he claims to, and is still just incredibly naïve, or if, in fact, he is a planted Pied Piper, whose goal is to lead people in the wrong direction!
Stay safe, Sundance, and may God bless and protect you in the coming weeks and months!
I think you, I and others sense in TC, and Musk too,…an AGENDA.
THATS what sets off our ‘spidey sense’ and suspiscious cat.
We SENSE some “hidden agenda” beyond or behind the public agenda they are ‘putting out there’, and we don’t know WHAT this agenda is, which is WHY we don’t trust it.
Like the message, but DO NOT elope with the messenger, its the flip side of “don’t shoot the messenger”.
Such a refreshing and compelling perspective. So glad he decided to give Tucker this interview.
“Where is Musk discussing the government contacts and intentions of the intelligence apparatus, FBI, DHS and various Intelligence Community institutions toward the Twitter platform.”
Wasn’t that the entire point of the Twitter files, helmed by Matt Taibbi, the abuses now under review by the Supreme Court of the United States of America?
SCOTUS isn’t going to do anything about it. They pretend to care on issues that don’t matter as much (Roe v Wade, affirmative action, etc) but on issues of the IC they punt or provide cover for it. These people are institutionalists. They can’t define their lives beyond that. They only care about the institution on why it existed in the first place.
Lets see what happens. On Bruen they did great. This case and the Chevron review (Loper bright) will reverberate for years to come.
Sure, the problem is it (Twitter files) was all RETROSPECTIVE, looking backwards.
And yet, there are people/entities saying they are STILL being censored, shadow banned, etc. NOW, with the “New X” format.
Or so I understand. I have nothing to do with twitter or X.
No disrespect….but there has been shadow banning of a sort even here. I know cuz it has happened to me – not by SD and admins – but other posters. Some were careless and let the cat out of the proverbial poster bag.
Doesn’t bother me.
Group dynamics are a fascinating thing to observe. There are no free passes.
Hard to locate accountability in some of this.
Is the primal node Musk?
Or is it such as Obiden and Bush who established the structural (e.g., NSD) and legal (e.g., Patriot Act) framework that enables control and two tier justice in the first place?
Looking forward eagerly, SD, to your next few posts, and the discussions.
Sundance, so glad you made it safely.
I figured Russia but it’s amazing to now be able to get onto this site with the organized crime syndicate no longer being able to to knock us off.
We can actually read and post in peace.
Thank you,thank you.
What happened?
I don’t know but am guessing with the controls he has and the protections of Russia, they can’t get to him there.
Its going to be an interesting AMA when we get the answers he feels it is safe to provide.
Its obvious Sundance knows what he’s doing.
Oh, no!
Elon has been outed, again.
He he he he he.
Like, even love the message, just do not fall in love with the messenger, just because he whispers what you want to hear.
Cause their are a # of “cads” that will say anything, just to “bed” us, and we’ll end up getting screwed!
DeSantis, Tucker, Elon, Jr., Gaetz are the top 5 that come to mind,…
I keep waiting to hear Gaetz call out the Mike Johnson he vouched for, and apologize.
Excellent, SD! So glad to hear “living to best life” has brought you back to Russia, because you have a servant’s heart towards Gd and the Lord Jesus. I have never trusted con-man Musk, but other reasons tipped me off. So many of us have your back in prayer and otherwise.
*”Living Your Best Life”
FYI, Tucker’s Telegram channel has 182,999 subscribers as of Wednesday 11:30 am CST.
Last night when I joined, it was under 100k, I think about 97k.
Might we have a Telegram channel?
I don’t know much about Telegram…
The quickest way I know to spread information is Tellawoman 🙂
😂 but be sure to tellawoman over the fence!
Anyone have experience with Voice of America, Radio Liberty or Radio Free Europe?
What is their format like these days? The equivalent of leftist NPR on the short wave bands?
Happy to be corrected but I always thought of them, those mentioned, as U.S. propaganda channels. I picked up RFE on skip back in the 60’s and it, to my young ears, was solidly anti-Soviet; at the time though, I didn’t yet understand what the CIA was and how their missions worked.
Through the miracle of the internet we can listen to them now without all that radio and antenna gear. The stations you refer to have web sites or are available on Radio Garden.
Also, if one is proficient in various foreign languages, one can listen to local chatter via Radio Garden; in some cases a VPN is helpful. Having been a long-time listener to the FSU, widely available stations appear to have lessened in recent times. I’d need to dig deeper to see what has been blocked and what is attrition from the war. There are still dozens of stations available to listen to in Kyiv, as one example, some English and some Ukrainian language.
Thank you dune
They play the tune of
our Government.
If they don’t…the risk their
funding being cut off.
I refer to them as the adult
version of PBS…only because
they don’t have Sesame Street
and Big Bird.
Thank you for providing the insight on this subject. As well, apologies for unintended but probably annoying comment.
Be blessed.
I don’t trust Musk. I trust very few people. However, I am grateful for the platform to connect with likeminded people. I usually mute the vitriolic leftists. I love being part of the Spaces… very informative with a chance to ask people in the know questions… re whatever the Space is about.
As for this interview… watched it last night. It was great. Durov is talented. His story about being in San Francisco says a lot.
When Fox stupidly cut Tucker loose, the shock was epic. They clearly didn’t think their rash action through. Because Tucker being Tucker and having the financial resources to do so established a platform which allows him to interview people like this man, Putin (would we have ever been allowed to hear directly from him without media manipulation anywhere else?), and others.
And we are the more informed because of it.
My point…
When life deals you a serious life changing blow which upends your world from which you think you’ll never recover, look up!
A window slammed shut, but a door flung wide open.
If Almighty God denies you what you think you want, it is often because He has something better and for His purposes designed.
Every time I listen to Tucker, this is the first thing I think of.
Excellent interview.
I learned at a young age:
“Man closes doors, God opens windows.”
I did as well. In this case, my switching was deliberate.
I seem to have spent a considerable time in the dark hallways between the doors and windows. 😁
And the idea that God doesn’t give you what you want, He gives you what you need.
Amen, Unicorn 👍🏻
Exactly Betsy. Exactly. It’s spoken often in our home.
Always recognized in hindsight.
Absolutely correct.
Truer words …
Well, they jettisoned O’Reilley without much of stumble so they expected the same result.
Yes they did. As an intellectual exercise only, I wonder if the Murdochs (assuming it was their call) ever kick themselves for booting Tucker.
Nah…who am I kidding.
I think Tucker engineered it. He chose his time had his studio, etc all set up, did his deal with X, and then pulled the trigger.
I believe it was his choice, not Fox’s.
Telegram…LOL….Never seen so many BOTs, spam, schills & fake accounts ….. dont miss it at all !!
I’ve never been on it, but Greg Phillips (works with True the Vote) warned his followers some time ago to get off Telegram. I still don’t know what for, but I tend to trust Greg Phillips.
He was definetly under some heavy scrutiny.
Ill have to watch the vid later, but I love telegram. Its easy to use, I correspond with friends and groups I belong to, and it has a nice block feature to handle the pesky scammers. You can also make your groups by invitation only, and set up ‘Rose’ to challenge potential bots and scammers if your site is open.
The first time I heard about “encrypted messaging services” I figured (being a retired burglar) that “locks only keep honest people honest” and any security system a man can devise, another man can figure out how to bypass,…
AND I figured if Government wants to monitor the communications of terrorists, spies and criminals they would create and market an “Encrypted app” with a built in back door.
Just seems obvious to me…
Logical there Mr Pink Panther /s
Just dont fall for scams. If it looks too good to be true, dont do it!
Safe travels Sundance our prayers and thoughts go with you thanks for everything you do to keep us informed.
Much love
R.D.
Chores to do at the minute, so I can’t watch the interview yet but I am looking forward to viewing it.
What’s fascinating is the lies that need to be maintained in order to keep the pretence going.
Telegram has 900 million users globally in one way or another.
Furthermore he is located in an extremely wealthy a nation.
Interesting times indeed.
Cheers!
In trying to understand how the world really works, it is essential to remember that it is a complex system.
This place we have right here is one of the most valued places I have to read every morning. The analysis here, especially in US politics, is invaluable. Should I stop going to X because Elon Musk does not “toe the line” as perfectly as I would like him to?? X reaches a tremendous number of people who would not have a clue to what we get to read here on a daily basis.
I would only suggest that people do a bit of reading about chaotic systems and complexity. I would suggest starting with James Gleick’s excellent book “CHAOS: Making a New Science.”
Elon Musk is tied to government – don’t we all know that? Is that something new? The space program . . . electric vehicles . . . and, yes, X. What is the net effect of the space program? Electric vehicles (other than whether we are for or against them)? And, especially the platform called X?
Doesn’t sundance use X to reach many, many more people than would otherwise never read what he has to say?? Where else could he possibly get that much exposure to the ideas that we all think are so important??
If you have a mind that insists that things need to be simple, do not assume that is how they really are. If you dig just a little, you will find complexity almost everywhere you look. Sundance’s previous article on Thomas Massie is one good example.
👍👍
Insightful, Kermit.
Just heard John McEntee of The Right Stuff on The Charlie Kirk Show talking about Congress dealing with the very important issue of banning TikTok, He made the point that if we give Congress the power to ban any platform, based on “disinformation,” “misinformation,” “national security,” or any other putative reason, what’s to stop them from banning other platforms because they don’t follow the State narrative? Maybe this is an insidious way to justify banning Telegram next.
I’m not on TikTok, but I believe strongly that the answer to wrongthink – or wrongspeech, as the case may be – is more speech.
Yep, the regime love to use the slippery slope
I wanna know Pavel Durov!!
-He is a gem.
His parents must be so very proud.
I agree.
What a role model he
could be for so many
young people.
His outlook on life and
accomplishments are
commendable.
clear eyed, intelligent young man. I see there are skeptics about him here but being the simple person that I am, I was impressed.
Just gotta say I had a hunch.
My half-kidding prediction made on Dec 12th (to my aunt)… few days later, on 12/17, we first learned he had visited there.
Can’t say I’d blame him. I know how hard it gets once they target you… evil [bleeps]!
One comment about Telegram. While the direct intervention of government may not happen with Telegram, insofar as privacy, etc., that does not mean that ‘representatives’ of governments are not on Telegram, posing as private entities, and portraying government propaganda as ‘opinion’.
With regard to Musk, I never went back to Twitter. There is not one company that he has been involved with, from his early days with PayPal (the original X) to Starlink, Neuralink, ‘green energy’ etc. My personal opinion is that the advent of Musk goaded those ‘anti establishment’ voices back on to Twitter, right where the government wanted them.
Didn’t Tucker’s Daddy run Radio Free Europe? You can not make this stuff up
Clay More: Yes. Tucker comes from Deep State blue blood. You could not ask for a more made-to-order insider who pretends to be a renegade outsider.
There is, of course, an analogy.
Think of the child brought up in a ‘strictly Democrat’ household, living and breathing all the teachings he is imbued with – who, upon reaching a state of maturity and understanding of the actions of others, one day awakens and realizes he really is a ‘Conservative’ at heart – and proceeds onward through life on that basis.
And vice versa, of course.
What then?
This is not meant to imply that you are wrong, Bill – it is simply something I have observed so often over many years.
“But the sons of the slayers he did not put to death, according to what is written in the book of the Law of Moses, as the Lord commanded, saying, ‘The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers; but each shall be put to death for his own sin.’” 2 Kings 14:6
Whatever Tucker’s father did is irrelevant. Tucker isn’t doing it. He is following his own path which happens to be 180 degrees opposite from broadcasting propaganda for the U.S. government.
I’m listening to the video now. So Dubrovnik advises that in 2013, the Russian government wanted him to disclose the names of the Ukrainian organizers for the Ukrainian protests. Here’s a thought experiment: What if those names turned out to be Nuland, Kagan, or other American operatives looking to begin the Maidan situation. Would you have wanted the Russian government to know??
My apologies for predictive text writing ‘Dubrovnik’, rather than Durov.
Zucker boy whadda con
Confirms my opinion of him; NOT an innovator, a thief; only skill is in stealing other peoples innovative ideas, and Capitalising on them.
Interesting what he said about how Publically traded companies van’t streamline, without being downgraded by the Larry Finks…
He probably was only the public face for the CIA investors
‘The social media site Twitter informed Brazil’s Supreme Federal Tribunal (STF) Minister Alexandre de Moraes in a letter that it would not challenge a long list of censorship demands issued this month, Reuters reported on Monday.
If confirmed, the move marks a dramatic change in position following Twitter owner Elon Musk’s public condemnations of de Moraes, the STF generally, and the integrity of the 2022 Brazilian presidential election. Musk announced the platform’s intent on April 6 to defy the STF’s orders demanding the censorship of an undisclosed number of accounts belonging to Brazilian individuals, restricting their access within Brazilian territory….’

“I continue to receive strong negative opinion for my cynicism of Elon Musk. ”
Never trust a fella that dresses up as lucifer for halloween, and dates a witch that calls herself grimes.. talk about bizzaro
oh, and that is somehow allowed to “purchase” intel asset frameworks
X is square and compass, let the reader understand.
I am not in the club and prefer to keep it so.
Sundance, be careful, our government may not let you come back home, praying for your safety
Elon’s silence on said issues is deafening.
Why would the USA or western alliance block the ability of those outside the west to engage with their platforms?
I think the communist socialists in the west are big sad about the fall of USSR, even years later. This explains coziness with China and the hate directed at Russia because the communists were canceled. They are now blocking everything that may hinder what they perceive as a new socialist world order (don’t say communist even though that’s what it is) movement in Europe and US.
If they block freedom and liberty messages around the world many would only see their narrative about the globalist communist agenda. Transnationalism, or Tranzis, written about in 2004 by John O’Sullivan is a good primer for what is causing this and very relevant today.

I think the communist socialists are very unhappy that Communism failed in the Soviet Union because these people were planning on joining the Bolsheviks for a one world government after WWII. We were allies of Stalin during WWII, after all.
Interesting take:
I agree with you, SD. It was an incredible interview and I am praying for Pavel. The fact that he doesn’t want to own a home or land or anything, but just a company that is so important to maintaining freedom of speech for 100s of millions around the world, close to 1 billion he said, speaks volumes about his character. May God bless him and his family/team.
Its the REASON he rejects land ownership thats the real insight; because if YOU own land, THEY own YOU.
Not owning any real property or large assets gives Pavel maximum freedom and flexibility to live anywhere in the world – and relocate quickly if the need arises. He apparently owns a lot of crypto, so banking failures aren’t a major concern for his survival. He reportedly has 2 children but no wife (that pair of facts could benefit from a bit of clarity). So he has structured his life to minimize his “target size” to any government.
A very interesting interview. One observation: Some time ago, I was told to watch how someone blinked their eyes, as this was considered a ‘tell’ as to the speaker’s honesty. I was therefore totally disconcerted with the way Durov was constantly blinking. Perhaps I’m getting way too paranoid……
Blink rate, how many times per minute, is ONE measure of stress.
Firstly you have to take into account lighting; on videos, are the lights in their eyes?
Secondly, lieing is only ONE cause of stress.
An early experiment with blink rate was situating cameras throughout a grocery store, to record blink rates.
The researchers anticipated high blink rates AS the shoppers were going up and down the aisles, assuming they would be stressed with making many decisions.
They were surprised the blink rates were just above hypnotic trance levels, although they rose as shoppers got to the end of the aisle closest to the registers,..and went really high once they got in line.
The assumption is “do I have enough $ to PAY for it?” was the cause of the stress.
Point is, yes a rapid blink rate CAN be a sign of stress, and lieing CAN be one cause of stress,..but its only of value if you can first rule out any other explanations.
…. not to mention
that while he seemed quite candid
he chose words with thought.
One should always choose one’s words with some thought – to do otherwise is an injustice to both yourself and those to whom you speak.
Words do have meaning – although many may misinterpret those words to suit their mindset.
One should not trust someone who made their money off the backs of the taxpayers,
including Elon Musk and our corrupt government officials.
The issue is the Christian Church.
Russia and the east are, as a society, getting closer to Christ, while we here in the west, as a society, are getting closer to satan.
I think that pretty much answers everything, imho.
Russia is. The rest of the East not so much.
Brilliant, ethical, & a cutie… found my new crush 😍!
Inversion is great subject matter. More please.
Watch your 6. Not a threat, a prayerful warning…
The kid starts out stating he knew what was going on at birth in the 1980s. At 4 YO he moved to Italy and realized freedom was better than communism. Strange. Always some brainy kid like Gates who outsmarted them all becoming a super IT Guy with no Govt. Help I call BS.
5G warfare, who knows, but it’s only safe to assume that your data isn’t safe once it leaves your domain, and even then…….
The “X” business model is unsustainable from a revenue stream standpoint. The only way it makes sense to keep the doors open is if there is a public/private partnership between X and US Govt that provides the hosting servers. X is still chugging along after suffering its own demonetization. Does this mean that the Gubmint has its hand up the back of Mr. Musk’s shirt? Walking and Quacking
A LOT of ads are running on X.com. Also a lot of users have opted for the paid subscription which allows longer posts and other features. Are you still certain Elon’s current business model is unsustainable without government money? Whose X.com revenue vs expense reports are you using?
I listened to this earlier today and immediately signed up for Telegram.
Thank you for highlighting
this interview!
I watched it last night and
I agree – he is one impressive
young man.
He appears to have more insight
and common sense than most
people twice his age!
A Lot of information in that
interview. And I mean a LOT.
I also have been on Telegram
for quite awhile.
The same government that has OPEN BORDERS is the same government that requires knowledge of all of your financial transactions and accounts “for the purposes of SAFETY and MONEY LAUNDERING”.
If the nation had tariffs and subscriber/user fees–alone–there would be no care in the world for money laundering…because all money would be owned by private parties, and what they did with it would be no one’s concern. But, all money is OWNED by the government, so everyone has to account for their possession and exchange of it.
This is a great piece. Fantastic
I would join telegram but using my phone number is ridiculous.
They could have invented a different way for us to use it. I don’t see how they can say anything is private when they have my phone number. Lol.
They sound like all the rest.
