That’s not entirely true. The situation in Ukraine was mostly frozen but there were still clashes occurring here and there.
That last sentence seriously lacks context.
The “clashes” that you mention were the Azov Nazi battalion’s deliberate provocation and harassment of the primarily Russian people who lived in demographically-similar communities in the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Nazis shelled those communities indiscriminately every day, using random targeting to generate the most widespread fear among the victims. Properties were continuously being destroyed or damaged, and people were dying or being severely wounded as a result. One could find videos of this on several social media sites. It was horrendous, and after Ukraine refused to cease and come to a negotiating table, Putin finally had enough.
All of the above is correct. They were doing this while Obama was in office, they were doing this while Trump was in office, and they were doing this while Biden was in office. And all that time, they were receiving lethal aid from Washington with Porshenko/Zelensky being the intermediary.
Which means that yes, even under Trump we were waging a proxy war with Russia. No doubt Trump continued it because he naively believed that being “tough” on Russia was America First, or at least would win the neocons over to his side.
I’ve concluded trump is in on it with the neocons. He’s just controlled opposition.

I came across some information a couple of days ago. Apparently prior to the Maidan overthrow, U.S. Government and military officials inspected/toured the Crimea. They talked about establishing U.S. Military bases there. They were said to be even discussing establishing a naval base. Instead of a Russian lake, the Black Sea would be a U.S. lake.

I don’t know whether those visits you cite actually happened, but it was clear that Russia was very concerned as the Coup was going on that the Crimea base they had was not secure in the current borders and that the US/Ukraine were thinking about denying them the base there.

i respectfully disagree. if you remember, all the personal visits to India, S. Korea, Japan, the thawing of N. Korea, I don’t remember if he went to Austrailia…and if i remember he had negotiated new trade agreements with each one. These agreements if i remember correctly were not only to open markets for the U.S., but allowed like with Mexico, and expanded import of certain manufacturing items…BUT with an exclusion of Chinese manufactured technologies, which always was a win/win for both countries. It was connected with a defense policy for the region to build defense alliance to contain China through strength and cooperation. Putin, in wanting to protect his countries heritage, had not only the issue with the west globalist, but also with the growing ambitions of the Chinese with a massive border. Russia itself because of WWII, it’s overextended military while the U.S.S.R., including there own tragic Afghanistan problem, they are only 143 million compared to Chinas crazy population. Except for the crazy globalists, China is a larger security threat. If not for their nuclear arsenal, China would be tempted to move. And we saw even military cooperation between the U.S., Russia and Turkey with the elimination of ISIS and the Syrian region. Trump had to be careful because of the Russia crap, but they had each others back, when Saudi Crown Prince MBS went wild after meeting with Putin with the idea for Russia and the Saudis over produce oil to put the U.S. frackers out of business by reducing market price, and Putin told the young man to pound sand. i wonder how much back door communication the two have, especially Putin with Trump to be in the know of Trump’s progress on this end.
Unfortunately, Trump made three serious mistakes along the way. The first was bullying Germany over Nordstream; the second was taking a hardline stance against Iran; and the third was pursuing a special relationship with Saudi Arabia.
From the perspective of Russian geostrategists, both Germany and Iran are critical to Russian national security, so any country that messes with Russo-German and/or Russo-Iranian relations would be an enemy of Russia. Furthermore, a strong Saudi Arabia would be a major threat to Russian national security, sp any country that tries to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s geopolitical power would be an enemy of Russia.
On that note, doesn’t it seem a little peculiar, that while Washington is successfully draining the West of its own weapons and ammunition, and effectively rendering the Military insufficient and unprepared; that while making ourselves implacable enemies of Russia and China; THEY ARE BUILDING UP AND PREPARING, AND WE ARE NOT?

Serbia is certainly in the cross-hairs of the EU. Serbia has applied for EU membership with pressures to agree to the European “rules based order” and to support the EU sanctions on Russia. Vucic reluctantly agreed and told the people of Serbia in a televised speech that he would have to agree. Serbia is surrounded by many NATO countries and shares no border with Russia. Opposed to that western pressure are: the Serbian people’s feeling of friendship with Russia and no friendly feeling toward NATO, that Serbia gets all its natural gas from Russia, and Serbia’s one oil company is owned by Gazprom.

When the US entered Iraq, Darth Cheney opined on the extensive work that would need to be done in reconstruction.
It was striking to me that Cheney’s remarks came not too long after an Iraqi who was a supervisor/whatever at a power plant or water plant showed how they were able to restore service rather quickly after an attack. He said that having been under sanctions for so long, they had become rather good at fabricating their own parts. The man said that their power plant used older, simpler technology. Apparently that was a common characteristic among other infrastructure elements.
Cheney made a point of saying that the technology in public works in Iraq was outdated and would have to be replaced.
What a windfall.

I have a dear friend who had an Aunt in Budapest, since passed away (RIP), who my sister and I stayed with when we visited my friend who was in the Peace Corps at that time. My friend’s father and brother (twins) escaped to the US when Russia invaded. The Aunt stayed behind. She was formerly an Olympic champion swimmer. She was not afraid to stay behind, and lived a full life.
That the US, actually a teeny weeny infant in comparison to Hungary, etc Has NO CLUE of the history of the Hungarian culture. There are buildings still standing there dating to the 1400’s that haven’t been razed to put up a parking lot and a bunch of US chain hamburger joints. Some high rises so old, that they are reputed to house vampires.
Just like Russia, Hungary is a VERY old culture. Of course Tucker would be welcomed there. He not there to SELL them something. But to listen and learn.

You always find the connections that must be examined in depth but never seem to be looked into.
The key one for me is the convenient timing of the beginning of the J6 riot that prevented the House members from making motions to suspend to allow the evidence of voting fraud to be entered into the public record.
