Twitter CEO Elon Musk has provided some convincing commentary about his willingness to forgo revenue in order to retain “free speech.” However, more recently he has qualified that outlook by saying, “Freedom of speech is not the same as freedom of reach.” Musk noting Twitter will block, remove, censor, shadow ban, deboost, downrank and stop content from amplifying based on the determination of those in charge of Twitter content.
This controlled “freedom of reach” perspective, which is really shadow-banning in practice, is generally accepted and now admitted. Against this backdrop, it becomes important to understand the priorities of the platform to understand the guidelines of the platform. Within this context the financials are key to understanding what elements are included within “approved content.” {GO DEEP}
Twitter is now a private company, therefore understanding the financials of Twitter is a little more challenging than when they were required to post their financial statements publicly. However, Elon Musk gave an interview with the Babylon Bee yesterday and revealed some of the internal financial challenges. [VIDEO HERE] I am going to summarize the status of the Twitter financial position according to what Musk himself revealed.
♦ Twitter was initially purchased by Musk and his investors for around $44 billion. The company now estimates its value around $20 billion. Musk overpaid.
♦ Musk put roughly $30 billions of his own net worth into the purchase and financed the rest.
♦ Current outstanding debt on the financing for the purchase is around $12.5 billion. Per Musk statement.
♦ Current debt service, interest on the loans (from investors), is roughly $1.5 billion/yr. $120.5 million per month for debt service. Per Musk statement.
♦ Previous revenue (when public) was roughly $4 billion/yr. Twitter was generally breaking even.
♦ Advertising revenue, as a result of changes in industry in combination with concerns about Twitter, are “half” what they were during the acquisition phase, per Musk statement. That puts current advertising revenue around $2 billion/yr.
♦ Per conversation, current status of Twitter is -$3 billion/yr and could be as high as -$4 to 5 billion/yr. This makes complete sense if $4 billion in revenue was generally the breakeven point (before acquisition), and now they have $2 billion in revenue and $1.5 billion in additional debt service [as they trim operational costs (including labor) to offset].
♦♦ For the bottom line to be an operational loss of $3 to $5 billion (est) per year, Twitter is generally losing around $300 million per month.
♦ There is only so much Tesla stock Musk can sell to support Twitter. He has limits. Per conversation.
♦ Twitter has around $100 million/mo in liquid cash available. Per conversation.
Twitter is in locked contracts with AWS and Google cloud services through 2025 at roughly $300 million per year for both [AWS $100 million, Goog $200 million].
There’s your prism for platform content!
Elon Musk needs revenue desperately.
Twitter urgently needs advertising revenue.
Without revenue or acquisition of another platform (with assets) to offset the current status of Twitter, it is only a matter of time before bankruptcy. [Note, Twitter investors are backstopped with Tesla/SpaceX as collateral against default.]
The tightrope… Elon Musk must appease the Google advertising control agents and adhere to content rules and regulation (DEI etc.) in order to maximize his revenue. That’s where Linda Yaccarino comes in as a critical player.
Bottom line, Musk has to make decisions through one prism, THE ECONOMICS. Musk’s decision-making, pro freedom or not, is constrained by this financial dependency. Hence, a lot of the platform censorship elements remain (including some personnel) and now the outreach to appoint Google/WEF approved Linda Yaccarino in an effort to enhance the revenue.
When you are perplexed about Musk decision making…. THERE’S YOUR ANSWER.

He put in $30 billion cash, but much of that was funded by a loan secured by Tesla stock. So there’s additional leverage, once removed.
Warlord Dilley?
appreciate the breakdown thanks Sundance be well
God bless
R.D.
I knew it!
I heard only $15 Billion value instead of $20 Billion, but that’s immaterial.
The cash flow / expected cash flow cannot sustain Twitter with its expenses, particularly those contractually fixed costs.
His cash reserves are nil in the grand scheme of things. His VALUE was all on paper (tiger). (Contrast to a billionaire like Trump in real (estate) assets)
His other government supported entities are collateral and subject to government whips in funding additionally.
Musk is leveraged in more and various ways than most can imagine or comprehend.
The DS is reining him in just I expected.
He will either fully acquiesce to their demands and orders or they will bankrupt and destroy him completely. Everyone in that world is expendable!!
Whether he is a willing active participant or coerced participant matters not, the bottom line is Elon is DEEP STATE!!!!

Black Knight- you stated many OBVIOUS a Musk Facts – Blew out the BINGO board. Why do so many people ignore this absolute reality (let along many other Facts/actions often confirmed by Musk the Globalist shill- who knows he sold his soul to the devil
Thank you Marty and I don’t know why others are so enamored. Never understood it.
I had a running argument with another commenter just days ago on another post.
Was absolutely obstinate to the nth degree and tried to deflect with projection on every point.
…..’in the end, you are, exactly, what you are….’
I THINK the answer to your question is,…lets call it the “fanboy phenominom” for lack of a better term.
I cringe when I see people say “I LIKE” so and so (a public figure they have NEVER met or interacted with) or even worse, “I LOVE,…”.
Right after Lindsey did his little 2-3 minute rant at the end if Kavanaugh many were saying “I like/love Lindsey”.
Even months later I talked with a R party precinct captain, who said he had always despised Lindsey, thought he was a snake, “but now I have done a 180” he said.
Its similar to “liking” or “loving” a movie star, based on the parts they play.
“Like”” or “Love” WHAT THEY DO, or sure, even WHAT THEY SAY, but don’t transfer the emotional responce to their words and actions, to a person you have never met; your just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Many/most ‘loved’ Johnie Carson, and felt like they “knew” him and he was a “great guy”.
I have read accountsof those that interacted with him, that like many comedians (Robin Williams, etc.) JC was depressed, bitter, mean sob to be around, off camera.
I have no personal knowledge, and not demeaning JC, just saying.
Politicians, like actors have a public persona, and far too many suspend disbelief and logic, and believe its real.
So well said – thank you!
Funny thing Dutchman, I ran into Johnny Carson on the French Riviera about 40 years ago. I saw him at a restaurant with this 3rd wife and was amazed that no one recognized him. I then remembered he liked to vacation in France for exactly that reason. I followed him out of the restaurant and walked down the street until I was absolutely convinced thru his mannerisms and speech that it was him. So, I went up to him and said “I don’t want to bother you, but are you Johnny Carson?”…and then prepared to run away. He was actually very gracious and spoke to me for a few minutes…while everyone else just walked by us. I think after a couple of weeks of anonymity, he didn’t mind being recognized. In any event, that’s my story…good memories even if no one believes me :o)
the interest of debt comes out to be 1.5 BILLION each year. Not only did he overpay (waived due diligence), but he also agreed to very high interest rate loans from venture capitol sources.
this does not include also a variety of unpaid leases, claims made from former employees and lawsuits…
even IF elon musk has plans to turn the company around, there is no evidence that he has anything in the wings right now that he can implement…It’s a race against time (time being the single most critical factor in loan debt).
I agree with sundance, there is a very high probability that elon makes some compromises to his absolutist free speech position…The ad and marketing types that have deep ties to commercial lenders and insurance underwriters need to see twitter transform quickly back into the marketplace that can show revenue and reliably provide it. This is where acquiescing to a woke, dei, esg, and alphabet perversity interest is going to happen. These companies that buy twitter ad space are never going to help twitter until it “complies”.
the secret police spy state/censorship influence is almost certain regardless…but it will come in the form of twitter protecting itself from negative reports and allegations…it will be coupled into a larger “right think” policy….the recent selection of the CEO kind of tells the story where it’s headed.
This is going to be the test for elon…he is now hated by EVERYONE..left, right and business…He has to pick sides.
I think he is going to choose business..which is of course, compleat with the woke idealogy and the speech shutdown programmes it directs. (sort of like fox media…noting: fox news now, on roku, carries water for joe malarkey and the script readers are clearly a gope/rino/uniparty crowd….I’ve been watching fox news now on roku for the last 12 months to get a sense of what fox media does in all its branches….not surprising…fox media has a flavor to sell for any taste… the baskin robbins of main stream maniacs)
God Bless America
I agree with your assessment, R.
But like I stated (paraphrased), whether ‘willing’ or ‘coerced,’ he is a DS asset.
BTW, started using Roku myself this past Christmas.
Love everything about it so far, especially the lack of monthly costs.
Ha ! But “Trump inflated the value of his assets”. If you believe the political persecution of NY Prosecutors
To rid ourselves of twitter and musk in one swipe would make my day.
#MeTOO, Patrick…me, too!
Great comment Black Knight. The DS has their hooks in Elongated Musket (his full name, obvs)…at this point he may have less control over the dragon he’s riding than Jack did.
Hunter just needs to sell a few paintings and buy him out cheap. The Big Guy will find a subsidy to keep things going.
Hunter and Andy Warhol have a lot in common …
Lots of kinky bisexual sex with random people … and really crapola “art”.
He knew much this during due diligence and waded in anyway. There is a message in that.
THIS. Almost as if he was forced to do it.
Of course he could make it profitable. I don’t think they need more then 100 people on staff In reality.
I’d love to get In there and have a whack at it. I’ve turned two companies around from brink of bankruptcy to their most profitable years ever. Both times in under 18 months. One small company and one large. It’s all about getting to know the business from the admin to the exec. Once you map that you find your waste.
Twitter can make money. Just need to identify the waste. And do it quickly.
There was a lot of talk of him backing out midway thru the process. I thought then that thumbscrews were tightened to force him to complete the purchase.
From the DS-
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/12/technology/twitter-musk-lawsuit-reasons.html
I strongly doubt he knew what he was getting into.
We can add the sword of financial sanctions some nations are wielding above his head if he doesn’t adhere to their rules.
His intentions were and are honorable but it’s a battle between life and death.
I think he believed because he was one of the wealthiest men in the world that he could do what he wanted with Twitter. He did give us the Twitter files and for that i am grateful. But it is still a board to put forth DS propaganda. No changes… we just now know for sure.
No Fauci files, as promised though.
Been months and months now, and nothing. He will not answer anyone who asks why we haven’t seen them yet.
Its quite obvious, he was threatened to keep those out of the publics view.
No changes. Surprise surprise.
Does anybody really think that the communists running our country right now, would actually permit free speech leading up to the 2024 election?
Of course not!
Doesn’t matter on bit what his motives or altruistic notions of free speech are or may be.
He is in the moral dillemma just like Manafort vs Cohen.
Unless you are actually THERE, you really can not say whether you would cave like Cohen, to try to salvage SOMETHING (like not having you and wife spend 7 years in prison) or “hang tuff” and be “a stand up guy” like Manafort, and kiss EVERYTHING good bye, in order to do “the right thing”.
And people are surprised? Musk depends on big. gov to survive as he is one of if not the largest private contractor for government. Even Tesla doesn’t make money on its cars. Tesla revenue is selling government invented carbon credits to other companies. If big. gov. dumped Musk’s companies he’d be worth next to nothing. Freedom of speech for Musk depends on what his clients want it to be, not what the constitution says. Musk is not our friend. When Trump gets back into the White House watch Musk change and be in line with Trump due to big. gov being his client. With the current occupant, FJB, Musk will be what they want him to be as big gov is his client. It is some justice that he overpaid for Twit but that may change long term. Time will tell.

I am totally in favor of Bush sending rice to Georgia … and any other country that is in desperate need of food
Never heard of any business person, willing to forgo revenue ! What a crock !
Musk is a CCP asset, globalist shill, deep stater and a con.
Again “in the end, what does it really MATTER?”
I/C, deep State, Gummint had content control over twitter, and by association over all major “social media” platforms, and search engines before Musk bought twitter, and we all had figured that out.
And, they retain that control. Now, we have CONFIRMATION of what we all “knew” and have some factual incites into the mechanics of how it works, due to ‘limited hangout’ of the ‘twitter files’, and thats,..helpful.
Bottom line is, both Big Tech and major media companies each “lost” 1 billion last year, projected to do the same or more this year.
TGP, CTH Bannon War room, etc. are getting more daily ‘views’ than Fox, or even all MSM media combined.
The rebel alliance of “alt-right” media is “kicking *ass, especially since Fox’s masquerade as “the Conservative alternative” has been stripped from them.
THIS is and has been a MAJOR front in the War, and WE are winning.
Dutch,
Our preferred media is growing, like MAGA. We are gaining more supporters, as ppl are fed up with the higher cost of living, incessant spending in Ukr, open borders and rampant crime.
In recent weeks, Bannon’s gettr feed went from 600k to 1.4 M followers. Lefties i know are fed up with Biden, and pledge to vote for Trump. That’s a big tell.
They can’t kill my hope or joy, keep on keep on going.
We are winners and winning, attitude means so much.
😎 ❤ 👍
Dutch
That is a prescient observation.
Not sure, but this may be the first PSYOP war ever of this type, at least at this scale and importance.
Usually, a PSYOP campaign is unilateral in theme (although 2 adversaries could produce different type campaigns against each other simultaneously).
This one is different in my estimation. 2 opposing sides conducting campaigns against each other over the same subject matter, essentially.
And you’re right, the tide does appear to be exponentially accelerating towards our (MAGA) views. Winning as you state. I look at as a sports team making one helluva a run on a comeback. Like a 2 minute drill at the end of a close football game where the winner had to run up some points in the last half to catch up.
Interesting take you made there. Makes me more hopeful.
Momentum is on the lover’s of liberty’s side. Let’s keep pressing. There is no accounting for momentum, but it is always strived for and leads to unbelievable victories every time.
But he is a GENIUS, don’t you know! I guess we imbeciles weren’t meant to understand such things.
Oh I forgot ! I’m sure he’s totally enamored with himself ! 🤣🤣🤣
“Let a hundred flowers bloom, let a hundred schools of thought contend.”
Chairman Mao, in 1956, invited intellectuals across China to submit ideas, suggestions and opinions.
The following year, hundreds of thousands were targeted. They were discredited, made unemployed, or sent to reeducation camps.
Are we experiencing the same?
The difference being that in 1956, people in China knew what the government was capable of. Here in America, we actually are used to our right to free speech, a lot of us still speak out as we always have, and our government does not yet have the power to cancel/jail/kill all of us, or we wouldn’t be having this conversation in plain sight on the Internet.
So, no, I don’t think we are experiencing the same, but the reminder is important because if we don’t fight back, we could experience it, and soon.
So is Musk over in China right now looking for a bailout?
Sure is on some of his ‘assets’ there. Chinese officials just spoke glowingly of him regarding his ‘support’ to communism.
Check either BB, ZH, or TGP. Saw and read it early this morning on one of those sites.
and china economy is taking a shellacing…
oh, the pain…
Musk can’t support communism and be for Free Speech at the same time.
There is a reason our Founders put Free Speech as a 1st Amendment.
It’s that important to liberty.
Trying to understand this in relation to “Jack’s Magic Coffee Shop”. If the public Twitter was breaking even with 4 billion / year, was that revenue from ads or from government financing? So Jack had enough money to break even, but not make a profit?
After Musk took over, the corporations and businesses that were previously funding the coffee shop decided the coffee wasn’t tasty enough and dropped out. The only way to get them back is to go back to the original coffee recipe? The one that had the strong censorship flavor?
Jack wasn’t paying the bills. You and I were through the 3 Letter Agency middlemen.
The point of the Coffee Shop was not to make money. The point of the Coffee Shop was to shape and control public opinion. Private advertising dollars helped defray the costs while also letting advertisers in on the Public-Private partnership game. But Twitter’s ad buys were never about revenue.
When Musk took over, the existing Private advertisers began to pull out with their Public partners and the reality that Twitter is a financial black hole became apparent.
For whatever reasons, Musk took ownership of the platform. Whether it was to maintain an illusion of choice and a facade of freedom, or a genuine interest in promoting genuine forms of those things, he is saddled with the reality of the financial black hole.
Even if he wants to transform Twitter into what he claims he wants Twitter to be, he cannot just do it overnight. The financial realities simply won’t allow it. Such a process would require very delicate balancing act to buy time while searching for ways to make the platform financially viable in a world where both Public and Private are hostile to that mission.
As I understood ‘Jacks coffee shop’, the point was that there was no way the financials made sense, given the homongous ginormic computer or “server farm” capacity needed, to support the platform.
That the Govt wasn’t putting $, per se into Twiiter, they were effectively saying “Here, we willlet you use this computer capacity that your platform could NEVER justify in its own right, in exchange for which we want to use your platform to control/manipulate public opinion.
Without the Gummin building such a capacity, platform whatever, twitter, faceplant too could never have had the financial justification to be able to do it.
That is the way I understood it when SD first explained it. He did emphasize that there was no way the ad revenue could cover the cost of the technology needed to run the site.
I guess what I was wondering was if people thought twitter was a successful business because they weren’t “in the hole”. Or maybe nobody ever questioned it either way.
But what’s happening now is twitter is being shown to be financially unsustainable and it’s being blamed on them not making enough money from ads. But even if no advertisers pulled out, they still could not run the site without help from the government.
And as bshaw7369610 said, the US Government owes all American’s their share of the revenue generated by us footing the bill (lending) with our tax dollars.
BINGO
I think you are correct. I simplified it for the sake of brevity.
If the Fourth Branch was paying for or supplying the servers, they were covering the vast majority of Twitter’s expenses.
By “public”, are you referring to the Government supplying the building and all the other necessities of opening and maintaining a successful coffee shop? If the private advertisers come back, won’t Jack still need the government censors for that?
Public = Government support via servers, infrastructure, and direct funding.
Private = globalist corporations.
And yes, Private will not place pre-Musk levels of ad buys on Twitter without Public’s greenlight, and Public will not greenlight without maintaining its control.
The advertising pulls were likely a campaign coordinated by Public-Private to either leverage Musk by via the financial pressure we are observing now, or to maintain an illusion of conflict between Musk and themselves.
You also need to take in to consideration:
They were breaking even after paying their own salaries. The amount of money they made selling equity when they went public. The rest of the business was breaking even only due to you and I subsidizing the hardware to support the site.So they paid themselves well, made a ton in equity sales, and still broke even. The US Government owes all American’s their share of the revenue generated by us footing the bill (lending) with our tax dollars. The government is using our tax money as their own personal bank account and it has to end NOW.
So one of the premises of Jack’s Coffee Shop now makes no sense.
Let’s take the essentials.
A reported $4b in revenue
$300m to AWS and Google per year
Other expenses, salaries at $3.7m per year
Equals break even under Dorsey.
Musk buys it.
$2b per year revenue
Massive cut in salaries, laid off 2/3 of the company
Still has the $300m/year to AWS, Google
Add $1.2b/year in debt service
So what is the $2b ? Is that actually ad revenue he’s lost by not censoring as much as before or is that Deep State pullback.?
It doesn’t seem like the computing power costs were hidden. They seem to be upfront with that.
Only an engineer on the inside who can do server load and bandwidth calculations at peak times vs purchased capacity can answer this question: Are the AWS/Google fees of $300m all Twitter actually uses or is there other capacity used that is not public and for which we do not see any cost accounting?
Well, there ya go then!
So whatever Musk said before didn’t really mean what y’all thought it meant (i.e., “free speech” doesn’t really mean “free speech”).
Matthew 5:37 comes to mind: “Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the evil one.”
P.S. I wonder what else Musk said that he didn’t really mean!
Maybe Musk didn’t realize how expensive “free speech” was going to be… 🙂
I sure wish Tucker wasn’t using the Twitter platform for his comeback…
Yeah, it does not look like Twitter is stable.
And, Tucker will drive away more advertising while increasing viewers.
Do we see the problem yet?
Corporations belong to the WEF, buy lobbyists to own politicians, and advertise to sell product to people.
People generally do not like to “organize”, never contribute to anything and do not consciously listen to ads.
BUT, people want someone FREE to show the hypocrisy of the corporate/political state (Tucker), knowing full well any kind of media (Fox or Twitter) is expensive and has to be paid for somehow.
In a world long ago, Tucker could have been hosted on NPR, but that is laughable since Obama.
And they used our money to fund all these pedo fantasy.
SD – FYI – That twitter video of the florida Trump organizer in your article a couple days ago is now gone from twitter. Funny? Not.
Musk is not being honest. Censorship is totally dependent on revenue. If it causes Leftists to pull advertising or threaten boycots, it gets censored….so much for his LIES about Free Speech on Twitter….
BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-hailed-brother-ma-110849880.html
Censored like this:
Twitter Cancels Deal With The Daily Wire To Stream ‘What Is A Woman?’ Over ‘Misgendering,’ Will Label Film ‘Hateful Conduct’
They are still being allowed to stream their show, but they aren’t getting the “free” opportunity originally offered.
Naturally, the objection was weak sauce concerns over “misgendering,” evidently a father referenced his daughter as “she,” the horror of it all. 🙄
In light of this article by Sundance it well be that revenue was the kicker; fear of the wokies.
Backtracking . . .
Elon Musk says “PC” means “polite corruption”
Seems like he’s been doing a lot of ‘backtracking’ lately.
But only when Twat gets caught.
I don’t know but I always thought a competent businessman executive/CEO laid the law down on how his company’s employees followed SOPs (standard operating procedure) and that consequences would occur for recurring bad behavior?
Oh well, what do I know? Or, is it that Elon doesn’t have control; or is really all that good of an executive?
Things that make you go, hmmm 🤔!
With or without Elon Musk, I have never subscribed to Twitter, or any social media for that matter, and I never will. It’s the principle of the thing.
I may be in the minority here, but with the world in the sorry shape it’s in today, maybe the hive mindset isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Your not in the minority, me either.
Even before the obvious bias became apperent, it just never appealed to me.
Follow the money…..
Indeed
Elon isn’t about “the money.” Money is how the US IC gets some things done. Intimidation, blackmail and other forms of threat is another. Elon has spoken uncharacteristically and that’s pretty alarming. The only “spin” he makes is usually attempted humor. This is not that.
He is now captive as was Jack Dorsey famously begging for congress to regulate Twitter.
Let’s hope that “Truth Social” is not in this same fix. I know that TS is not based on Google support, but hopefully they are completely independent from any Deep State entity.
Reader’s Digest version.
The deep state has Elon Musk by the gonads.
Yawn. Don’t be a twit.
Starve the pig!
Maybe revenue from the FBI and other feral government Deep State “agencies” can keep Twitter afloat.
I suspect the Fourth Branch let Twitter go, at least partially go, because it is on to CBDC or whatever the next big thing is.
Do you understand that the Fourth Branch is controlled by the global central banking cabal?
we know in this latest budget iteration, the GOP gave the FBI/DOJ, etc everything they wanted in spite of knowing what they’ve been doing for the past decade (likely many decades really). There’s tons of taxpayer cash being funneled to all of these big tech outfits for propaganda purposes.
Stalin and Mao never had it this easy (or had such a willing population begging to be controlled by their government)
His horrible due diligence continues to astound me unless the fascists made him a deal he couldn’t refuse.
And if he goes too woke, there is looming the Bud Light treatment. So much for ad revenue.
Hey Sundance, the BOT activity has really picked up on Twitter especially their targeting of Pres Trump supporters similar to 2016 when Dems employed their BOT FARMS! Musk doesn’t seem to interested in addressing this like he was last Summer regarding BOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen a couple of stories that allude to the Dark Angel Ken Cuccinelli and the Desantis Campaign gearing up and utilizing these BOTS, especially to target Pres Trump supporters!!! I NOW DESPISE DESANTIS!!! 😡
Sundance is getting his share of Twit Bot attention too.
Would not be the least surprised if the Derp State Operation Meatball is driving it.
I’m sure he gets a vote!
Sundance absolutely slays on Twitter.
It’s glorious to behold.
Not to mention you’ll be shut down if you say ‘I’d like to see Obama hanged for treason’, even if it’s just an opinion.
Why that would be blasphemy!
Challenge Musk on the bots issue. If it’s about the money (and it’s not) then he would work to end bots in order for the value of ad revenue to be maximized.
Losing me and those like minded will NOT increase his cash-flow. Guaranteed.
“freedom of speech is not the same as freedom of reach” Elon Musk.
Elon Musk claims he is a “free speech absolutist”.
The definition of absolutist:
Anabsolutist is someone who believes that the best form of government allows one person to hold all the power. North Korea is an example of a country that’s been run by anabsolutist leader for many years.
So Elon believes he and the government are the best arbiters of free speech.
Now we know why Elon Musk gets along so well with China.
I thought he meant something completely different by free speech absolutist.
It’s his money and his company to do as he pleases. I hope it goes down the tube along with his reputation.
A motivated business owner–even one who made a major mistake in buying an existing business by overpaying, will decide how much energy is needed to correct this mistake and then go about creating the profit enterprise initially imagined, giving all one has to give. It is about the owner’s personality in the final analysis, plus the ability to put in place the right people to make it happen.
Elon Musk has such a track record. He is a gambler of the first order. He is now the richest person on this planet. He has a vision he intends to implement as best he can.
I wish him the best…and if I were much younger he would have my CV before his eyes!
Business is always about the 💰💴.
Musk may be the richest man in the world but he’s still nothing more than a slave of the US & Chinese gubmints.
Pretty simple to understand—Google and Amazon wield a gargantuan amount of economic power, means and influence—and both are committed to the core with Leftist ideology. And as the same as with uniparty politics, once the powers that be reach a critical mass where their power (and now reach) is secure from outside threats, they become our jailers—as Musk is learning the hard way.
Money/wealth in and of itself is not the problem like so many believe, it’s the concentration of it across the select few that creates the corruption.
Ask yourself why the entirety of massive corporations (national and multinational) would begrudge the idea of Trump’s America First national economic policy when it would make all of us majority working/middle class types wealthier and more financially secure, while their bottom lines would not be sacrificed in some catastrophic Wall Street meltdown? Answer: elites perceive the value of wealth based on its scarcity. The less we have, the more valuable theirs is.
So Musk is an oddball for sure, but he’s no business dummy. Normally you’d basically know all of this before making a decision to buy. The math here ain’t complicated, nor are the politics of Big Tech.
I’ve always wondered what Musk was up to buying Twitter and I’m still wondering. Me thinks there’s a deeper backstory with Musk and Twitter, but maybe my tin foil hat is too tight?
I’ve gone on there enough to thank Elon for revealing what he did of the Twitter files. I’m sure the rest will come after people are desensitized to corrupt govt interference to help their boss multinational corps. His eventual goal seems to be world domination, thru AI, without govt or google or JB interference, so that will be the big showdown no need to be on Twit for now.
I think those numbers are off a little bit, just straight from the interview. Musk says they have a billion in the bank, not 100 million (14:50). And he says they’re almost at break-even (15:30), revenue versus expenses. Don’t forget we’re talking about a guy whose net worth is about 200 billion dollars, and will probably be double that by the end of the year. Twitter is not going to stay worth 20 billion. He’s got all kinds of ideas to turn it into a money machine. I think you’re getting a little over your skis on this one. Time will tell. And as far as his love affair with DeSantis, I think it’s based on the image of DeSantis as a get it done kind of guy. This is a guy who claims to have voted for Biden. In just two years he’s jumped from Biden to DeSantis. He was on Trump’s economic advisory committee early and quit because Trump wasn’t interested in the zero carbon thing. Let’s face it, that’s what this guy spends most of his time on, and he’s the only guy who’s really come up with practical ways to do anything about it. Let’s see what happens when he sits Trump down for an interview. You never know how wide his eyes might get opened.
I joined Twitter in 2012, mainly for fun, and I had some friends who were self publishing on Amazon. Then Trump happened, and I teamed up with all the great patriots, and Twitter had millions of them. Many retired military who loved Trump, but I could see almost immediately that Jack Dorsey was a hard core liberal, he had been raised a Catholic and they lean liberal, and I’m Catholic so I know that. In fact, most are bleeding heart libs.
I watched the unseen fly swatter start knocking off Trump people, at first it was small, then as the election eared it went insane, I had 14k followers at that point and Dorsey was just knocking everyone’s numbers down daily, for NO REASON AT ALL, just Trump supporters! Eventually purging millions of Trump supporters.
It was a plan! I appealed many times to be reinstated with no success, five years later, when Elon took over I appealed many times, no success. Then suddenly it worked and they restored my account, which only last a few months due to the fact that I was still favoring DONALD J. TRUMP!
Elon Musk is a LIAR. He hates Trump like everyone else on the left.
Trump is the reason for everything!! I am not fooled any longer.
Trump is MAGA King!!!!!!!
Long Live Trump!
Welp, based on past experience, we can expect Musk to look for ways to use taxpayer dollars to subsidize the company.
Cry me a river, Elon. Only an idiot thought Twitter was worth even half of what you paid.
Now we get to hear the self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist” move the goal post. You see, free speech is absolutely a right. As long as you stand in your closet where nobody can hear you, you can say whatever you want*.
An then there’s the problem of idiot conservatives trying to help these evil people censor us by linking to the site which brings in advertisers who push their globalist tranny child sexual mutilation agenda on everyone with impunity. Do we get a nationwide effort to cancel Twitter accounts and destroy their business? Nope! We get Twitter links from ADHD attention whores.
*Until fascist a-holes like Linda Yaccarino bug your closet
Whoa, whoa there.
Musk cut out 70-80% of Twitters useless eaters. So you can’t leave out the huge reduction in expenses in New Twitter.
And Musk had to have known Twitter was like Parler, living entirely at the whim of Bezos and Gooble. So getting rid of Bezos and Gooble has to be a prime target.
And $1.5 billion interest on 12.5 billion debt seems pretty high at 12%.
Musk seems pretty fast and loose with his language.
Fedex was a money pit loser until it wasn’t. I’d give Musk a bit of the benefit of the doubt, unlike the Dead-on-Arrival Wallstreet Pump and Dumps over the past 10 years.
You are using simple interest. Does not work that way in the business world regarding revolving debt.
1% per month on $12.5 B in interest on outstanding debt is $125 M / month (with no draw down on principal).
$125 M x 12 months is $1.5 B per year (and you still owe the $12.5 B).
The reductions were already factored in you read carefully above.
“Free speech absolutists” who hire totalitarian dictator wannabes don’t get the benefit of the doubt. Yaccarino is evil. Her intentions are evil. There is no benefit of the doubt here.
After WWII the Allies conducted a massive de-Nazification campaign. Musk has kept 30% of the Nazis and hired Paul Joseph Goebbels to run the show.
Twitter is altogether evil. The only solution is to cast it into the fire.
“Freedom of Reach”
Brilliant. And spot on. I don’t believe Musk is nefariously throttling speech … but is conceding the REAL Politik of MONEY.
The problem is that there is NO WAY to effectively censor … a little bit of speech … you know, just the really bad stuff. Nope. That will only succeed in disillusioning BOTH sides of the political spectrum … hence … MORE users and advertisers LEAVE … resulting in a further devaluation of the platform. The ONLY way Twitter recovers financially … is to go back to SILENCING all conservative thought. You know … BAN any discussion of a STOLEN, FRAUDULENT election … BAN any suggestion there is NO SUCH THING as “Transitioning” to another sex.
Conservatives will Bud-Light Twitter. Sorry Elon … enjoy your decline.
We know what Christ will do with the lukewarm “believers” … the free marketplace will do the same to a lukewarm Musk. Spew him out …
“ Conservatives will Bud-Light Twitter”
Based on the borderline stupid levels of Twitter links posted on CTH, I think your assessment overestimates how much “conservatives” will abandon Twitter.
Social media is an addiction and too many of our friends are hooked on that junk.
“Carry on we Musk.”
I forgot to add that Elon will never ever admit that ad revenue would be soaring if he had those millions of Trump supporters back on Twitter…..never admit it, and doesn’t want it. I think it’s just that Elon wants to be as popular as Trump, and it isn’t working for him. Too bad.
No doubt about it , Twitter permanently banned TENS OF MILLIONS of Trump supporters just for supporting Trump.
I think its a precursor to genociding Trump Supporters.
They made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Another hero captive. Turns out most people would rather not die at the hands of villains.
Public/Private partnership is Fascism. We are a Fascist country now. Everything inside the government control, nothing outside of government control.
Wikipedia defines Fascism as ultra right wing nationalism but Wiki is government controlled too. Fascism is another name for Communism. It is all left wing ultra tribal so that the government will continue to pretend.
Wikipedia Founder Confesses: ‘We Are Democrat Propaganda’
https://thepeoplesvoice.tv/wikipedia-founder-confesses-we-are-democrat-propaganda/
Exactly.
I tell everyone that now.
Communism IS fascism and both are brutal dictatorships that create 2 classes: the very rich political party class and the 97% poor, controlled and terrorized class.
The end result of both fascism and communism/marxism/socialism is misery, poverty, terror, no freedom, and controlled by the state/govt which ultimately ends in hopelessness … which is one reason there was so much alcoholism aming the people in the Soviet Union. In China, a lot of suicides.
Both communism and fascism use the same terrorizing tactics to control and suppress its people and they use the central (fed) govt to control the masses.
I’m very worried about the 87,000 new armed IRS agents being deployed to… terrorize middle class Americans. The rich can pay for expensive tax lawyers. The middle class (lower and upper) cannot. The Tax code is horrifically complicated. The IRS could get most anyone for a tax violation… and they continuously change the code too.
When I was in college, I Summer interned for the IRS Examination Division. I heard IRS agents say they were going to audit specific people they didn’t like. That was a shock to me at 20. The political weaponization of the IRS is very scary. They can bankrupt anyone they want.
Sadly, the US is pretty much a fascist state now with merely the illusion of democracy… because We the People have been effectively disenfranchised so our govt masters do NOT have to account to us anymore which is why overt injustice and targeting of PDJT and other conservatives is SO ‘in our face.”
Even when the FBI, DOJ, Special Counsel, etc… proven to have deliberately falsified evidence, submitted it to a court for the purpose of denying citizens (including candidate and then president Trump) they constitutional rights…. the criminals/seditionists inside the govt are never prosecuted, never punished. It’s shocking and only encourages more illegal behavior.
Back to Facism = communism/socialism/marxism: I recall reading that Vladimir Lenin sent Mussolini a letter praising his accomplishments in taking over the govt of Italy. Odd b/c Mussolini is described as a fascist… and Lenin a communist.
The other evidence that fascism and communism are effectively the same is that:
NAZI (“fascist”) = National SOCIALIST German Workers Party. Actually sounds communist, doesn’t it? Nazis slaughtered 10s of millions of people throughout Europe.
USSR (communist) = Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics. Stalin alone slaughtered 30-50 million Russians
PRC (communist) = PEOPLE’S Republic of China. 75+ million chinese slaughtered by Mao. Many more since.
I posted on the change of the definition of fascism about two months ago, but you are correct, Wiki is part of the Praetorian Guard.
every form of collectivism is left-wing. fascism, nazism, etc. the ‘right-wing nazi’ is a false construct. always has been.
Did musk buy twitter so that the funding mechanism could be hidden? No way he didn’t know how twitter functioned prior to spending that kind of money with any kind of due diligence
I’ve been wondering too.
The “Richest man in the world”…
Is just a slave.
Comment of the day, imo!
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
In a gilded cage.
I, for one, could care less about Elon Musk.
Even if Elon The Electrified’s CCP masters had me on my knees threatening to hammer an empty cartridge case into the back of my skull I still wouldn’t join Twitter. Oops, they missed that fragmentation grenade in my skivves. Xin Loi.
Well, whores are getting pricey. This is what happens when you sell your soul to the devil
No way is this a true “Free Speech” platform . What a shame , the search continues .
PDJT smart not to return to Twitter.
“Elon Musk needs revenue desperately.”
“Twitter urgently needs advertising revenue.”
Which could put a bigger spotlight on the Tucker Carlson (TC) deal. I would think Tucker and his show would be a positive and immediate revenue stream for twitter.
TC seems to be more awake than ever regarding the corruption in Government and the MSM. I would expect (was expecting) his new show to be more aggressive with exposing the Government, MSM, Big Tech and Big Pharma connections.
However, it sounds like this could be a big test for Elon and his new CEO. How many shows before TC touches on a subject that Elon or Linda or their Puppet Masters from AWS and Google decide needs to be censored?
I hope Tucker has an escape clause in his contract…it sounds like Twitter 2.0 will be same old limited free speech platform, but with new managers (Elon and Linda) cause the real owners (AWS, Google and the Deep State) are still in charge.
