However, with these two points in mind, what does that say about the current state of our national pretense?

Ever since Nov 3, 2020, I listen to everything, but believe almost nothing. These people do not utter a single word that is not designed to enrich themselves in some fashion. I’m sure there are some honest patriots in power, but it appears to be a very short list. Because of my faith in God, I remain hopeful and confident, and prayerful that this fiasco ends relatively soon with minimal collateral damage.
One could say the purpose of both Musk and DeSwampass is to create the illusion that some things are getting or will be cleaned up when nothing really is changing.

From a secular standpoint I would have to say both assertions are true. There’s little or no chance that Mr Musk was unaware of the deep state potential machinations. A little or a-lot who knows? I would argue that Elon had a come to Jesus moment around 2019 and he clearly grasps the gravity of the situation unlike the vast majority of normies. As for governor DeSantis of course he was going along with becoming the president. What politician wouldn’t ? Musk/Twitter – it was widely reported that elon specifically declined due diligence before the purchase. It was quite literally the most asinine business decision of his life by far. That was the narrative among the woke radical left haters. They mocked him for not seeking due diligence. (and still do). My own view/opinion is that elon skipped the due diligence because he genuinely held two things: 1. there was no deep state controls…he suspected twitter was applying unfair practices, but I rather doubt he actually understood fully just how much control USG had over censorship and narrative engineering at jack’s magic coffee shop. during the final sale elon tried to renegotiate terms based on “new information”…this went to court..the judge in delaware chancery denied most of his arguments and sided with twitter. 2. He saw an opportunity that was conspicuous and he is actually a rather bold restless operator – how can a company reach into the billions globally be not making money? Perhaps he felt it was worth the risk of just paying 42 billions without any inspections because the opportunity seemed very attractive. He was using twitter…he was using lots of other social media companies…why isn’t twitter monetizing into profitability like the others? So maybe this was the risk impulsive decision he is known for. (not all of his impulsive acquisitions have been winners…solar wall…boring company…yikes)

Musk wanted a shiny toy and simply bought it. That is why he overpaid billions and had no clue what he was really buying.
Meatball was lured by money and the promise that higher powers would be eliminating President Trump and he would waltz in as a savior. He underestimated so far, maybe. We don’t know just how far the powers will go against our President just yet.
The two situations (DeSantis and Musk) are entirely different; DeSantis is dishonest, he knows he’s dishonest and that’s the chosen path. I think with Musk, there is something in him that seeks the truth and a desire for the advancement and betterment of humanity. But this conflicts with his self-interest, so he didn’t see what was really going on with Twitter, or he thought he could overcome it, or he rationalized that he could have truth (the new paradigm) and the self-interest (the old paradigm) at the same time, which is, of course, impossible. The deeper he gets into this thing, the more he is confronted with the conflicting paradigms – and he will have to choose one or the other. Ultimately, truth is powerful and non-truth is not – so what will happen? If that is his true commitment, his life might explode, fall apart, or maybe he finds his way seamlessly into a new, greater reality.
This process is, I think, what we’re all doing collectively too. A greater truth is emerging, and there is no stopping it. But our self-interest, survival – the part of us represented by the establishment – is fighting to the death to avoid the new paradigm, stop it, overcome it. So there’s a lot of lying going on! Ultimately, truth prevails, but we’ve all only begun to experience the death throes of an old paradigm. Our power is staying away from fear and aligning with the greater truth – of God and life – moment by moment and day by day. And we prevail! (I think Musk will prevail too.)
“DeSantis” is just the latest construct of the Republican wing of the Uniparty. (For proof see his donors).

I am really ‘late to the party’, as this post from Sundance was asked yesterday.
I needed to think.
So, I will go with my gut.
I believe Ron DeSantis has been a good Governor for Florida when he needed to be. He did some good things — and some ‘not so good things’.
The alternative to Ron DeSantis as a Governor for Florida would have been an absolute disaster.
So, there is that. And, think about that. It could have been far worse!
Kudos for Governor DeSantis for doing some good things for Florida! He could have done even more — IF — his mindset & focus DID NOT turn (become corrupted?) to the possibility of running for President of the U.S.
Ron DeSantis should have stayed in his lane.
As far as Elon Musk is concerned, I believe his heart is pure — only his perceptions are skewed.
I applaud him for having reservations about AI, yet at the same time he is employing StarLink.
I applaud him for believing we need to save humanity, yet at the same time he believes in Global Warming.
The complete belief in Global Warming — includes — the belief that the number of humans needs to be reduced.
Yet, Elon Musk has stated that there needs to be MORE people on earth.
So, to believe that Elon Musk is totally honest in what he has to say, is to also believe that he is a contradiction.
To be a champion of Free Speech is apparently not adverse to also believing in being coy.
Elon Musk is a contradiction. He is a conflicted man.
There’s a moral core within him that causes him to pause, yet he will find an argument to obscure that moral obligation.
