This sounds exactly like something out of the State Dept playbook from an era when the U.S. military had the actual strength to back it up. However, against the current state of affairs, specifically the U.S. control over the western NATO alliance, sending additional troops to Taiwan just because the U.S. is upset about China and Russia’s relationship, is simply poking the Beijing dragon.
There are approximately 30 U.S. troops in Taiwan on a regular rotating basis. Nothing large or significant. However, immediately after China and Russia announce there is no distance or limit in their relationship, according to the Wall Street Journal, the Biden administration is sending an additional 200 U.S. military troops into Taiwan.

One of the lessons that China likely learned (Russia sure didn’t) over 20+ years of watching the US battling/bombing Afghanistan from the 7th century into the mid-6th century, is that of logistics. For all of its problems, and they are many, the US military is exceptionally good at moving people and stuff over long distances to where they need to go.
China will have a very vulnerable supply line from the mainland across the strait. Unless they disarm the US first – balloon borne EMP anyone? – they’ll fail rather quickly, even if they attempt to bomb Tawain into submission first. And that 50/50 balance regarding unification will go from theory to fact by force. And no one likes to be forced into anything.
That being said, China has maybe 5 years or so to attempt a reunification by force before demographic decline sets in good and hard. That’s to say nothing of their ticking debt time bomb. Like Putin, there is a real chance they’ll go for broke with this bought and paid for administration running the show.

I disagree to our ability to move troops and equipment around the world. China and Russia both have put defense of their countries as top priorities. They don’t have air craft carriers as we do. They have hypersonic missiles ready to sink them before we know what hit us.

While the US and the West, in their sick, insane obsession, are wasting Billions of dollars in an unwinnable war in Ukraine they are also depleting their arsenals faster than hey can replace the spent material.
The US defense industry is hardly able to deal with the war in Ukraine but it is sure as hell in no shape to deal with two simultanious conflicts.
Add to that that the IAEA has recently found 84% enriched uranium (90% is weapons grade) in Iran.
All Iran and China have to do is simply wait till the arsenals of the West are completely depleted.
A simultanious move against Taiwan and an Iranian breakout to an atom bomb would be the nail that finishes us off.
An Iranian breakout attempt would most likely trigger an Israeli preemptive strike which would be answered by a massive rocket barrage from Iran’s proxies in Lebanon, Hizbollah.
The IAF would have to bomb Hizbollah at a frantic pace and it would rapidly deplete its stockpiles of munitions, especially smart bombs.
Remember when the Obama admin refused to give hellfire missiles to Israel during their Gaza operation?
This time the US might be not unwilling but unable to support Israel.
That would ensure that the war in the Middle East would be prolonged and that it could get our of control.
Meanwhile the US would not be able to support Taiwan with the weapons they need to fight the Chinese.
