The extreme vitriol against the recent OPEC+ decision to cut oil output, specifically the extreme Biden anger toward Saudi Arabia, now takes on additional context as the New York Times writes about a secretly negotiated deal between the Kingdom and White House officials that was never executed.
As the Times reveals, over the summer the White House thought their team had negotiated a deal with Saudi Arabia for increased oil production that would have lowered oil and gasoline costs in the U.S, strategically timed before the midterm election.
With that agreement in mind, Joe Biden went to Saudi Arabia a few months ago. However, as the western alliance began putting more pressure on Russia and increased the activity within Ukraine, the Saudi’s aligned with OPEC+ to support Russia via lowered oil outputs. The White House felt double-crossed, hence the fury.
(New York Times) – WASHINGTON — As President Biden was planning a politically risky trip to Saudi Arabia this summer, his top aides thought they had struck a secret deal to boost oil production through the end of the year — an arrangement that could have helped justify breaking a campaign pledge to shun the kingdom and its crown prince. It didn’t work out that way.
Mr. Biden went through with the trip. But earlier this month, Saudi Arabia and Russia steered a group of oil-producing countries in voting to slash oil production by two million barrels per day, the opposite of the outcome the administration thought it had secured as the Democratic Party struggles to deal with inflation and high gas prices heading into the November elections.
The move led angry Biden administration officials to reassess America’s relationship with the kingdom and produced a flurry of accusatory statements between the two governments — including a charge by the White House that Saudi Arabia was helping Russia in its war in Ukraine.
[Democrat] Lawmakers who had been told about the trip’s benefits in classified briefings and other conversations that included details of the oil deal — which has not been previously disclosed and was supposed to lead to a surge in production between September and December — have been left fuming that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman duped the administration. This approach makes sense from the perspective of a White House intent on manipulating the U.S. economy to achieve ideological goals.
The climate change agenda is a larger picture scheme all about power and control. Downstream mechanisms of government, and institutions in the private and financial sector, collaboratively created by people in power, want to take advantage of the fraudulent dynamic for increased influence and affluence.
The love of money is always at the root of evil enterprise. The Build Back Better / Green New Deal is ultimately about controlling people and assembling more wealth amid a small tier of self-described elites. Inflation that crushes the working class around the world is an outcome of this larger dynamic of manipulating energy.
“The Great Reset” is designed to the benefit of the few.
…”I think they may have wanted a sword dance, lol”…
Diesel shortage already?
Petro Truck Stop -West Memphis, AR today
You see the Zero Hedge piece about the diesel reserve supply running critically low? Idk know Team Treehouse but 2023 promises to be the year from hell. It’s probably due to kick off in Europe just about any day. I know we have been concerned about SHTF since 2020 in particular but thus far we have weathered the storm pretty well as a whole. 2023 is going to test our mettle I’m afraid.
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/forget-oil-real-crisis-diesel-inventories-us-has-just-25-days-left
I heard about the fuel shortage, but this is the first time I’ve seen so many pumps down.
Thanks for the article.
It’s even worse than that. Remember diesel is also fuel oil used for home heating. The only difference is the dye to mark if it’s taxed or not. And they’re already rationing oil deliveries in some NE states.
I am a “grandpa” and I can assure you that most my age are WELL aware of what FJB and the Dims and their WEF are doing to us! Don’t let one stupid, gullible granny make you think otherwise. We came from one of the last generations that actually were taught useful knowledge in school. And we’ve been ‘around the block’ more than quite-a-few times. ‘cept now that we are getting to retirement age, we spend a LOT of our time shaking our damn heads at these younger gen’s and the utter fantastical B.S. that they believe in! Life will not be at all kind to these idjits.
I just traveled from Wisconsin to western Colorado. No diesel shortage that I could see. I did see one small station with 2 diesel pumps bagged, but I assumed it was just broken pumps given there were like 6-8 others working.
Lots of trucks in truck stops and on the road. Diesel prices ranged from $4.99 to $5.55. Simply outrageous knowing it is self-inflicted by a Turnip in the oval office.
On another note…
“have been left fuming that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman duped the administration.”
Color me shocked that MBS would do this after how viciously the left went after him on Khashoggi. Truth and facts didn’t matter. Or long term consequences.
The fuel prices are outrageous! And we just know they are not coming down.
I believe that they will go after semi-trucks next. It’s already horrible to work on the road. Restaurants closed. Staffs kept at the minimum. Everything so expensive. Many old timers retired during the “plandemic”.
I think voters, particularly Democrat voters, will soon be fuming at Biden and his handlers because they will feel duped. Gas prices will spike like the geysers at Yellowstone after the election.
You mean the 81 million STUPID demomarxist voters the voted for joementia?
Brandon might or might not have received 81 million votes, but, if he did, there is no chance they came from 81 million voters.
It’s amazing how these demomarxists leaders , si call leaders of human rights and social justice, are actually leading their minority constituents into a revolution, under the guise of social justice, that will lead to a revolutions further undermining the middle class and the poor, leaving them susceptible to the ultimate takeover of the Illuminati cabal.
You forgot the “”‘s as in “81 MILLION” voters. Yeah. No one believes that! Not even Dims. But they’ll jail you and have you fired and blacklisted if you question it. “TOLERANCE!”
My Kwik Trip in New Ulm, MN had some diesel pumps with bags on them a few days ago.
We found place north of Branson a couple of weeks ago with all but one diesel pump covered.
I totally despise this administration of freakin’ idiots, every one of them.
Agencies, Departments, and committees need to be downsized and/ or eliminated, and a minimum of 3/4 of the entire Congress needs replaced.
I doubt it… There’s been a big propaganda push on that subject but I read these things with much skepticism.
The Right’s juxtaposed MSM factor is just as real as the MSM it’s self.
So, the CIA is wanting people to know about this…..hmm. Wonder why?
There are some factors in this quid pro quo that aren’t mentioned in that article unless it was something that was behind the paywall.
1) At the time of the OPEC+ meeting, the world price of oil has gone down to $83 a barrel and was headed even lower. In order to meet the Saudi’s budget, the price of petroleum HAD to be above $80 a barrel. It was not in their interest to increase production. So, yes, they agreed to reduce production as the rest of OPEC+ voted because they needed the price to go back up. The purpose of OPEC+ is to keep the price of petroleum stable and profitable.
2) I don’t know, but Biden or his handlers may not have told the Saudis that he would be releasing millions of barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve at the same time that he was asking them to increase production. Biden’s move lowered the world price of oil.
3) I think that the constant harping on sanctions here, sanctions there, punishing any country which crosses the US agenda – is not winning friends around the world. The severe sanctions on Russia are an example of what could happen to any country if it crosses the US. That repellant policy could have played a part in the Saudi’s and OPEC+ vote.
That’s easy (wondering why?) – so the FJB administration can declare Saudi Arabia as part of the new hitler brigade to justify sending more pallets of cash to Iran.
I dpn’t know what the current sanctions on Iran are. Some time ago, they were responding to one by sending more oil to China. Iran is probably cutting back its production, it’s an OPEC member, one of the five cartel founders (1960).
Belle, at that point he had started to drain the S. Oil reserve. And now he wants to filler up again at 70 or 80 dollars a barrel.
President Trump was filling it at 24 dollars and Sleepy Joe has been draining, and we all know why.
This is a self inflicted wound. and we are all paying the price.
I think it is worth mentioning that democrat warmongers fought and stopped Trump from filling the SPR.
But, he did it anyway!
And now the oil companies know where the floor for oil will be and in light of the sunk costs to develop new wells they have basically said no thanks because they can not make an adequate return on their capital.
And the Saudis are having none of it which is why MBS publicly mentioned the misuse of the strategic oil reserves.
Even the Saudis are telling Biden he shouldn’t be using the strategic oil reserves.
So Old Joe and his gang got played. Nobody f’s with a Biden.
Played like a rare Stradivarius. “Excellently!” Back room deals and all! Underhanded Dems’s pants on fire!
They always said don’t try and outdo the rug dealers – they’ve been at it for 100’s of years.
Yeah, they’re going to get angry when they start being treated the way they treat other people.
This Times story is bullshit. Trying to cover for Biden. Three weeks ago the reporting was that the secret deal was to delay the OPEC production cut announcement until after the midterms.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11311835/Saudi-Arabia-confirms-White-House-begged-delay-OPEC-deal.html
I’ve always believed that the Saudis want a president they can trust. They don’t have to like him, just be able to trust him. I think they want rid of JoeBama and all their minions. Trump didn’t lie to them/
Bet the Saudis miss Trump.
I do.
Imagine the absolute outrage by the media and the entire “Hate Trump” organization if he had been caught trying this during the months leading up to his reelection.
Of course there was no need for it, but just imagine. Such a double standard.
The double standard is not a double standard, it needs to be addressed as what it is is; an authoritarian government flexing it’s might.
The “adults”are really showing the world who is in charge, aren’t they ??/s
McCarthy has already promised the RATS he will not impeach the braindead Prop if the Republicans take the House.
McCarthy said he wouldn’t do a POLITICAL impeachment but will entertain a legit one if they have the evidence
Everyone with an IQ of 70 or higher should know by now that goblojoe’s admin couldn’t negotiate their way out of a paper bag… when u elect an illegitimate puppet, the house of cards will fall
Joebama is easily duped! Because he is a dupe! Now we see why he was “installed” by the regime as POTUS! Once the strings are seen, ya can’t unsee it! Joebama, word salad Harris, and Pelosi gotta go!
Yes, but need to destruct the foundations these strings are hanging from.
Haha
Double crossed by the body loppers!
Delicious irony. First they demonize MBS then they make a secret deal, then they BEG him? Glad MBS told them to pound sand
Biden’s ‘secret Saudi deal’ bungle shows he’s terrible at foreign policy (and a liar) By

I have to hand it to the Saudis. Well played
I actually don’t want Biden impeached but the deal with Saudi Arabia seems like an impeachable offense.
I’m looking forward to the graphic where those nations in yellow slowly turn to gray as in, “no thanks, we’re not going to play Great Re-set anymore” wondering if they will fit into one of those Hollywood squares type graphic where we can see which nations get crossed off, thinking Norway and Italy may be among the first.
Good for the Saudi’s. I believe what comes around goes around.
The entire piece here was well-written but easy reading for me because it’s so expected and so “in type” for this regime.
And, frankly, I’m literally lmao. This is like the retired mafioso in “Absence of Malice” chuckling while reading in the paper what is transpiring with a corrupt US Atty. Yeah, like that.
The real conversation here that isn’t being discussed is, energy needs to be kicked back to the states to manage their own resources for sale and use in the markets.
The feds have absolutely zero practical business in energy beyond maintaining a strategic reserve for domestic military purpose.
They have even less constitutional business in it.
That’s the problem with the two parties… They seek control of power and not beneficial end results.
Why should Super Smart Joe Biden feel betrayed, when you negotiate with your hat in your hand, the person with the energy is out to get the most for his product.
How’s that Green New Deal working fir you, Joe, you F*cking A**ache!
So there was a “secret deal” negotiated by Biden’s “top aides” to have Saudi Arabia pump more oil for his and his party’s clear political benefit, and many “[Democrat] Lawmakers … had been told about the trip’s benefits in classified briefings and other conversations that included details of the oil deal.”
Well spank my butt. If I remember correctly, “deals” — even secret ones — have benefits for both parties. You know, something like “Well I’ll give you five dollars if you sell me your pony.” It’s called mutual consideration.
Funny, but I missed the part in the New York Times story that mentioned what the top aides had promised to do for the Saudi regime. Apparently the Dem Congressmen were aware of the “details.” Did I miss something? The pony maybe?
Another failed “Reset”.
PDJT would never have made such a rube mistake. Of course, he would never have put himself in a position to beg for foreign oil.
Saudis probably would have been more willing to go along if Team Biden wasn’t so eager to support Iran.
I believe everything Sundance says, but this seems to go against it . https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/26/energy/europe-natural-gas-prices-plunge/index.html
Sundance, any answer?
Abolt, your point? The post is about oil, not NG. And, BTW, despite the fortunate break in NG use and the resupply, this, from your link is still true…
“Despite the recent slump, at around €100 ($100) per megawatt hour European natural gas futures are still 126% above where they were last October, when economies started to reopen from their pandemic lockdowns and demand spiked.”
Too little too late. I just topped off my heating oil tank which cost me $910.73 for 141.2 gallons of bio-diesel @ $6.45 per gallon. I have a 250 gallon tank which if empty would be a bill of $1,612.50! In the last five years or so, I’ve never paid more than $500 for a tank of heating fuel. It’s a damn good thing I have excellent insulation and new windows and an efficient modern furnace but this is getting ridiculous. There is talk of potential heating oil shortages and rations. I am wondering if I will need to start wearing thermal underwear around the house all winter.
What was the deal? You produce more oil, we will be your friend?
Biden:
“nobody F’s with the Biden’s”…
Oh wait…
Biden getting bitch slapped by the Saudis! Hell Ya, America is back! After Trump, we have finally gotten our respect back in the eyes of the world, and god bless Nancy Pelosi!
God will deal with Pelosi.
When the truckers stop running, this will all come to a head, QUICKLY. Hunger is a powerful motivator.
Go to the Obamas mansion first.. thats who pulling the strings
“I did that” – Joe Biden
I hope the regime and the rest of the swamp that’s in bed with this regime, China, NWO and the rest of the evil, Nazi, communists, Marxists elites are popping blood vessels over this…..times that by thousands and they’ll start to get an idea of how the American people feel about what they have done to America, our economy, our people, our healthcare system and any and all of the trust we might have had in them. They f’d up……nobody awake trusts or believes a frickin thing from them and our main goal is to get rid of every single one of these POS! They won t go away easy….they will fight and it will get ugly! So be it! Time for them to be gone! Like when you see the wicked witch of the South…Hillary Clinton! Never seems to go away…well, it’s time!
… have been left fuming that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman duped the administration.
It doesn’t take much to dupe the dope.
The Lying Leftists pushes the Global/Climate destruction of all things that would benefit human beings. Don’t humans ask questions any more? Take whatever the leftists say and blindly follow along? Here’s a comeback fact if you encounter an all-in Global Warming/Climate Change big mouth. Are you familiar with The Great Storm of 1703? “The WEEK-LONG hurricane that struck the south of England and the English Channel on November 24th, 1703, was beyond anything in living memory. John Evelyn described it in his diary as ‘not to be paralleled with anything happening in our age or in any history almost …… A quick G O O G L E search will tell the rest of that story.
It is so funny to see the GAE being “double-crossed,” which it has been doing for all these years to their “allies.” The Saudi finally realizes it will not be a “partner” in the table of “world leaders.” and can be “cut off” at any time when the overlord finds you to be not useful. They switched sides to preserve their survival—no wonder these psychopaths are gaslighting about nuclear war. I guess if the jab doesn’t kill people fast enough, then radioactive material will.
Remember when Obama and Kerry would meet with foreign leaders around the world, just after President Trump did, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
Quote from the Times article, this administration lies about everything!!
White House officials admit they were angered and surprised by what they said was a Saudi about-face, but insist their overall strategy to lower energy costs is working.
“We have a disagreement with Saudi Arabia over the most recent production cut, but our energy policy has always focused on prices, not number of barrels — and that policy is succeeding with crude oil prices down over 30 percent this year alone,” Adrienne Watson, a National Security Council spokeswoman, said in a statement on Tuesday night.
