As the political elite decide they have some form of unknown authority to force working class U.S. taxpayers to fund the choices of others, a furor starts to build.
In this video excerpt a father confronts Senator Elizabeth Warren over her advocacy to cancel college loan debt for those who made a choice to take out those loans. Across the American landscape this moment rings as representative of two fundamental outlooks colliding. I think most readers here would relate to the cold anger of the father who confronts the Senator. WATCH:
Cold anger does not choose the path of division, it simply responds to it.
There is a great chasm within our nation between to diametrically opposing worldviews. When one side is forced to pay for the indulgent choices of the other, cold anger turns hot. It is difficult to contain rage in the face of such sanctimony, yet the abusers are prepared to claim victimhood as soon as we respond to the abuse.
This is the powder-keg that sits underneath the quiet surface of cold anger.
Cold Anger tries not to go to violence. For those who carry it, no conversation is needed when we meet. You cannot poll or measure it; specifically, because most who carry it avoid discussion… And that decision has nothing whatsoever to do with any form of correctness.
Foolishness and betrayal of our nation have served to reveal dangers within our present condition.
Misplaced corrective action, regardless of intent, is neither safe nor wise….
All thoughts appreciated.
“Thank you for your time” is NOT the response ANYONE would be looking for in this situation.
But the VERY FAKE Indian clearly says it at the end of the clip….
Thank you for your time.
Nice lol
😀
It’s not Pocahontas’ wampum.
Yeah totally belonged to Tecumseh
I think my reply would be something along the lines of:
“Thank me for my time??? F you you piece of crap. You should be thanking me for my money”.
That’s because she’s never ever going to admit the truth. She feels she doesn’t have to. It’s that sanctimoniousness rampant in WADC.
It is the expected response from a soulless, left-wing sociopath.
From Bloomberg News:
“A ‘Tsunami of Shutoffs’: 20 Million US Homes Are Behind on Energy Bills
Surging electricity prices spur worst-ever crisis in late utility payments.”
One in every six homes in the US is behind on their utility bills! Let that sink in!
Many are ALREADY having services cutoff. For those of us who are paying
attention, this is a huge wake up call. This economy is going to unravel… big time! Of course, the vast majority of Americans are Non Compos Mentis….
as usual.
It’s going to get worse, they are sucking all the natural gas and oil out of this country as we speak. Be prepared and read your bible!
In the Midwest and Northeast utilities will have to shut off power before winter gets here – once winter is here by law they can’t shut the power off till April. It’s going to be a dark, cold, cruel winter for many working Americans thanks to Joe Biden, and Ditch McConnell.
That means they filled their credit card to limit to buy gasoline . Every power or gas company takes credit cards..
That is a leading economic indicator. That means also less back to school spending which has not been reported yet and less Christmas spending.
Don’t worry, Curt. The potted plant in the White House has already increased ‘food stamps’ by 25% and now is looking to forgive student loans. There will be plenty of money to pay the utility bills. s/
Potted plant? Me thinks you give potted plants a bd name.
Is ANYONE going to stand up and trumpet that HE DOESN’T HAVE THE G.D. AUTHORITY?!?!!
To forgive loans, raise EBT amounts, or ANY OF THAT CRAP??
I wonder who will pay all the illegals’ delinquent power bills?
You and me ………… of course!
And paying customers will pay even more as a result. Utility companies are entitled by law to charge paying customers more to make up the difference. So 1/6th of the population will get “free” gas and electric paid by the other 5/6ths.
That’s just SOP. There are a lot of illegals here who use energy also. Someone has to pay. Guess who? Look in the mirror.
I spent around $220,000 putting my daughter through 5 years of college. Worked an extra job. Now the potted plant in the White House is cancelling much of the student loan debt. That means I, and many others, get to pay for the deadbeats and others who have not paid their student loans!
There is no end to irresponsible government and the socialist failures. However, if you’re looking for a handout or some promise of a better life for voting communist, then you will be happy……. temporarily!
Unfortunately, this is the new American way. People never seem to learn from history.
She’s just one of 7.5 million employed in the government…
Remember that the next time you want to ramble on about elections.
My fiance’s 33 year old liberal Democrat son has student loan debt. He started an excavating company, a career which is outside the realm of his education, financing the purchase of an $80,000 heavy equipment Caterpillar excavator. Are the Dems going to pay off his excavator debt? What about the debt of those that did not go to college but took out loans to start companies? I have debt. Are they going to pay off any of MY debt?
Nope.
The people this helps won’t be dem voter’s for life, they’ll be looking for more handouts.
This whole thing is absurd.
As are most things right now.
Earlier, a Treeper commented that his “mortgage” identified as a student loan. I agree.
That dad showed far more grace than I could have when face to face with an evil witch
Bitch slapping was coined as a phrase because of she-dogs like Lizzie Warren.
Of course, that’s too good for that piece of Massachusetts trash.
One of the plethora of constitutionally illegitimate items our government lavishes taxpayer money on. A miracle of prosperity and abundance would occur if we could force our so-called representatives to adhere strictly to that which they are lawfully empowered to do. The savings in bureaucratic reduction alone would be phenomenal. States could start by asserting their sovereignty and taking back the usurped functions the parasitic feds use to fill their coffers.
We already have a program for those willing to join the military and “earn” their college education by serving.
What a slap by our Congress and President.
US DOD
https://www.militaryonesource.mil/military-life-cycle/friends-extended-family/how-the-military-helps-pay-for-college-and-job-training/
My common sense thinks in the future, boy meets girl, employees over the water cooler, neighbors and new friends will bring up college attended and ask if their student loan was paid for by Taxpayers ( Government doesn’t pay anything, they only have the pen to sign the checks we give them).
A yes answer could generate instant judgement, a silent declination of friendship, an application for a loan, a job and certainly magnetize a stigma.
My son used his military service to pay for his college. Will he be compensated for wasting several years of his life as well as risking it in one of our useless wars?
I am 47, have a degree, worked blue collar jobs all my life, got disabled, and here I am. I still owe money (note: I am against debt relief).
I never ever realized I was being “indulgent” by taking out a student loan. I sure did live high on the hog in those days, eating ramen and drinking warm water. Indulgent, Sundance?
Was your mortgage “indulgent”, then? Your car loan? You can rent, after all.
Y’all picture AOC or some blue haired trans person bitching about his/her loans. A lot of people wanted a better life, not dissimilar from taking out a mortgage or financing a car, etc.
You know how you make the caste system in America worse? Take pride in your class and ascribe it morals , attributes it doesn’t necessarily have.
By SD’s definition, loans are always “indulgent”. Remember this.
You signed your loan papers. Are you trying to say you didn’t know what they were? Try carrying your own weight.
I said nothing of the sort. I said it wasn’t “indulgent”. Again, stop assuming thing and filtering it through your class resentment/hard working man b.s.
Hi Norm. Maybe Sundance was painting with large strokes. I get the point he was making. Getting a sociology degree or a Chicano studies degree is indulgent because sociology and Chicano studies don’t produce anything. They only drain resource. There’s lots of worthless degrees to be earned as well as some that used to be respectable but are tainted by ideology (psychology for one).
I got a worthless degree in religious studies, and I too had noble, respectable intentions. I’m gladly paying off my loan, understanding the lesson it’s teaching is more valuable than anything I learned in the classroom. I’m trying to say I’m right there with you.
Boomer’s Outrage is at record highs today. They’d rather see millions of young Americans saddled with debt forever than feel once ounce of sympathy. Most disgusting narcissistic generation to ever live. Thanks for watching as America was destroyed and enjoy the miserable future in store for your grandchildren as you spend your weekend at the local winery chatting about your bootstraps and how tough and resilient you all were.
Piss off.
WeWeed
Thank you.
You said what I was thinking!
You hit a nerve.
It’s true the boomers are the most self indulgent, materialistic generation to date.
They are not the only ones though. Materialism is why no one will be taking back the country or marching on there Capitol steps.
Sundance is right though it’s coming. The only issue I see is that no one will take advantage to right the ship. The situation will create more cries for the government to fix the problems it’s creating.
Everyone wants POTUS Trump to save us. He is a perfect example of why we won’t right the ship. He was as close to the steering wheel as anyone will get. He admin did a hell of a job.
And the reaction was swift and the end state will not be a return to your mother or farther or grandparents days of apple pie and fireworks.
Prepare your communities and circle your wagons.
De Opresso Libre
No one is coming.
Pay your own way like we did scumbag !
If it wasn’t for boomers, you’d be speaking german or japanese. And so would your family and everyone you know.
Show a little gratitude…and failing that, try some common sense.
There is NO argument you can make, that will make it make sense for plumbers and electricians and factory workers to be paying the school debt of those who DECIDED to go to harvard and DECIDED to get a loan.
Maybe that’s why you went right for the heartstrings, because you know it just like everyone else.
Speaking of narcissistic, only a young, foolish narcissist equates making payments for 20 years with “forever”.
Lastly, if America is being destroyed, it’s the uniparty and the left doing it. Not conservatives, and definitely not America Firsters.
You got that so wrong. They get stupid majors which offer stupid prizes. like a job at Applebees. AOC was a waitress.
Unmarketable skills. Paying BILLS after graduation is another continuing education learning opportunity.
(My CPA/Consulting firm employer paid for my CE credits at the Petroleum club)
Most diplomas have a low ROI.
Wow, what a stretch! Have no idea how you extrapolated that opinion from his comments! Huge assumption on your part.
Or you could just pay your bills and the loans you sign because if you get a loan and refuse to pay while buying every new iPhone, have Netflix (and the 20 other streaming services), have designer clothes, etc….yeah, you’re indulgent.
Don’t have netflix, don’t have an iphone, or even a smartphone, don’t have netflix, I buy all my clothes at Dollar General and Wal Mart. I use a laptop from 2009.
Sorry Dwayne, you’re not gonna win this one, mmkay? Stop the class resentment b.s.
I’m disabled, I can’t get disability, and I do my best. And I can tell you I’m as indulgent as you are intelligent. Stop the fake tough guy/hard working/libertarian bruce springsteen marlboro man b.s.
You’re disabled but can’t get disability?
I’m sorry you feel life is unfair. Not my issue.
Fake tough guy act? Nah. Hard-working, yes, that’s me. Bruce was before my time. And cigarettes are for idiots.
What am I not going to win, by the way? Is there a contest I didn’t know about?
Class resentment? The only class of people I don’t like are those who make excuses for their own lot in life. Would you happen to know anyone like that Norm?
Don’t take everything so personally.
If it applies to you then take it.
If it doesn’t apply to you ignore it.
It’s part of putting on your big boy pants.
Telling you that the responsibility that YOU CHOSE to take on is YOUR responsibility and shouldn’t be put on the shoulders of those who chose otherwise, has nothing what so ever to do with class envy.
YOU aren’t going to win that one, norm.
Just look at what’s happening to the people who DO go to college. How on earth did they ever get into college in the first place? This vid is just one of many I’ve watched recently, and the content is stunning. Do you think people are really that stupid? Guess so.
Check it out. You’ll laugh your butt off.
Love how the guy says, “Yes” to all the stupid answers.
where are these stupid people congregated? nuke it from orbit.
I know. This is what happens when college admittance goes from a totally academic standard to a what category of person do you belong to to standard. That change along with the government taking over the student loan business results in what you see right now.
Going to college and getting a degree in which you will rarely earn enough money to pay it back is an indulgence. I have listened to enough Dave Ramsey callers who spent $200,000 to $300,000 to get a worthless degree in a worthless career that pays $35,000 and year. One would think that with the internet one could to a search on how much money one earns with said degree and how much does it cost to get said degree and then make an informed choice. Taking out student loans is not an indulgence. It becomes an indulgence when one expects other people to foot the bill for one’s stupid choices.
Indulgence is not the act of taking out a loan. Indulgence is expecting other people to pay for and/or bail you out. Do you see the difference?
Oh, Dave Ramsey, ok.
Who says I have an indulgent degree?
Since you appear to be quite young and stupid, I’ll fill you in. During the 90s the hot majors were computer programming and industrial tech. People took loans to work in those fields. They were replaced by cheaper labor from overseas. OR the companies left the country.
And you can find many other non-useless major where this happened.
You know how you can make money? Get a radio show like Dave Ramsey and lecture people. You clearly don’t live in the actual world.
By SD’s definition, any time you got a loan you were indulgent. Off you go.
You are either projecting or reading between the lines. When he said “When one side is forced to pay for the indulgent choices of the other”, what he is angry about is not the act of taking out a loan to go to college, but the act of forcing others (non-degreed workers) having to pay for that choice. It would be no different than if Biden said he was going to forgive $10,000 in mortgage debt for those that took out a Fannie Mae loan.
Weak argument pal. Taking out a loan for chattel property is a bit different than taking out a loan for an experience. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you, but the lender can repo your house/car/boat/ etc., not your “education”. You invested in yourself…..and lost.
So how does this make me need to pay your debt ?
You obviously made some bad choices.
How is that anyone elses fault but your own?
Norm, I am 63 years old and I am a college graduate. I took out student loans and got scholarships. Not once did I expect for someone else to pay my debts. It is an indulgence to think that other people should pay for your debts.
I’ll fill you in on a few tidbits: welcome to the club, buddy. Welcome to the US government screwing over their own citizens. They did it in the 90’s with computer programmers. They did it to manufacturing in the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. They shipped millions of high paying jobs out of this country screwing over countless people who bothered to get educated in their career. Recently, they have screwed over people working in the US oil drilling industry. Remember when they told those people to “go learn to code” or “go make solar panels” when they saw their livelihoods disappear. Did you know that we used to make fine quality wood furniture in this country? It’s all gone. We used to make appliances that lasted forever in this country. All gone. Remember during covid lockdowns some people were called essential and could still work while the rest of us had to stay home? Do you know how many people lost their jobs and businesses because their government screwed them over and made them close down while the Big Boys (Home Depot, Walmart, Lowe’s) got to stay open? Our government has been screwing over the middle and working classes for 50 years. So, take a number and get in line. This happened long before you got screwed over.
Well said. I know of several young men who got tech degrees, and their superiors who also had lots of continuing education to keep up with the latest changes, made themselves valuable employees. Played by the rules, got screwed by the employers need to squeeze every last cent out of their employees.
We used to live in a country where people had a Christian conscience bequeathed to them, and greed was deplored. Then we got “greed is good”, better than God who said “to be on guard for any whisper of greed”…Because He knows to what end it goes.
If you borrowed money, you indulged. Period. Don’t bitch today because of your choices yesterday.
Joe Boy, I’m bitching about the misuse of the word “indulgent”.
You have debt too, Mr. Indulgent. And you most likely have a loan from someone. That’s not indulgent. If you need a degree to climb out of poverty, it’s not indulgent. If you want a car so you can get to work, it’s not indulgent. If you need a loan to pay for chemotherapy, again, not indulgent.
If you take out a loan to buy a boat, you’re indulgent.
And if you give money to Donald Trump so he can renovate his jet, you’re an idiot.
Words mean things, kid.
https://www.google.com/search?q=indulge+definition&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari
Once again i don`t take advice from disabled losers that want freebies . Limp your lame as$ down to the college and get a refund ya sniveling POS .
Having a loan is not indulgent. Having someone else pay it off is.
Exactly. Or a better word might be “entitled.” Since this Norm says he lives in Appalachia he is among the most entitled bunch of losers in this country. I lived near there for quite a while some time ago and there is no bigger whiners and bellyachers than the inhabitants of this region. People who have left that area make jokes about the mindset of the people. My favorite involved folks there having a “$1000 house and a $5000 mailbox.” When I asked why that was, he answered, “They don’t want them checks getting wet.” A large percentage of these people claim various (likely phony) disabilities and even teach their children to act mentally unstable to increase their SSI payments.
Sorry, no sympathy for backward losers.
Many of us Treepers including me are totally debt free.
Took years and a lot of sacrifice. But it’s done.
Sure, we still have to pay for necessities- and we still have to pay taxes, utilities and insurance.
But other than that–zero..nada…nothing.
No credit, no mortgage, no car loans.
Oh, norm, you’re just asking for abuse.
Yes, words mean things. That’s true in a number of ways. First, there’s the dictionary definition., Then there;’s also the definition of the word based on the context of the person using the word, which you’re trying very hard to ignore.
NO ONE needs a degree to climb out of poverty. NO ONE.
“And if you give money to Donald Trump so he can renovate his jet, you’re an idiot.”
And with that sentence you’ve told us exactly who you are.
What degree did you get that you ended up with blue collar jobs?
Talked to someone last weekend about this and learned of journeyman electricians making 200k/year. No student loans, no sitting in cubes…great benefits. I have to wonder at this point why a lot of people even go to college when there are really good alternatives.
Scarlett, you’re a woman, so you have it a bit easier than most men do. I appreciate your anecdotes, but here in Appalachia it doesn’t work as you think.
I also assume you’re young and can’t remember what life was like in the 90s, where I came from. Or you’re a boomer and, well, are part of the most spoiled generation in history.
But each person is different, each person has a life to live, people to take care of and his or her own share of tragedy. The idea that any of us can live life like 2 + 2 = 4 is almost a fantasy. It happens to very few people.
Now with the misogyny! You’re a clown.
I’m thinking his disability is in his soul, instead of his body.
Sorry for your predicament.
I’ve always lived on the west coast and now in Seattle.
Fukkkkin loser ^^^^^^^^^^
You assume a lot Norm. Caste system in America? Really?
Women have it easier than men? Really?
Before you say it I am far from rich, live in Appalachia also but have no debt by choice and hard work.
What Is your disability ?
Who is making you stay in appalachia? Or is that yet another of YOUR indulgences?
Again, if it weren’t for boomers, you’d be speaking german or japanese.
Show some respect to your betters, they’ve earned it whether you’re smart enough to realize it or not.
That’s coming from a genXer by the way.
The Boomer’s came AFTER WWII. I’m a boomer and there isn’t a one of us who fought in WWI.
Correct.
And loans are something which is paid back by those who choose to take one out.
If it’s fair for lefties to come here and try to redefine “loan” to suit their arguments, I feel fine redefining “boomer” to suit mine.
I agree- fair is fair.
And, the boomers or WW2 were the greatest generation to defend freedom. And then came home to 60 years later become one of the biggest groups to institute and vote for the oligarchy and socialism you see in the US today. Why? Because they were bamboozled by FDR and the BS programs he put into place. You can hate that statement but it’s a true statement.
The only caveat- it might be the boomer’s kids who have pushed the policies. I don’t really care because we are where we are and I know most of this was in action before I was born in the late 70’s and continued to grow as I was a kid into adulthood.
Not all boomers but c’mon boomers…..stop defending those your age who sold us out.
And, yes, I can say that because most of my life the boomers have criticized my generation. Well guess what boomers- my generation was created as a result of your parenting….you parented kids who had us, who then parented us. The roots are deep.
Indulgent:
sometimes disapproving : willing to allow someone to have or enjoy something even though it may not be proper, healthy, appropriate, etc.
Sundance is correct in his wording since he was talking about people who take out loans and then expect others to pay it off
What’s your degree in? How much is your debt? What happens if you get a mortgage and can’t pay it, or a car loan? At least supposedly you, with your degree, have this wisdom and knowledge that the school supposedly imparted on you and makes you employable. If they repo your car, you walk, or take public transportation. If they repo your house you’re homeless, or back living with your parents.
But the bigger picture problem is that the federal government should have never gotten into the student loan business. It drove up the cost of education causing this huge debt.
His degree is in whining and pointing fingers at the boomers, who literally saved the world from the germans and the japanese.
“Obtuse” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
That wasn’t Boomers, that was the Greatest Generation, the parents of the Boomers.
I clearly remember when Obama did this, students (that had terrible repayment rates) screamed that rates were too high, and that student debt was “unfair”.
So…They got a loan with no collateral, no salary history, no IQ test, no approval of curricula, no class attendance history, and no cosigner on the loan. And STILL THEY WHINED.
SO Obama took over all the loans (which put taxpayers on the hook, instead of banks as before), then in 2010, the bankruptcy bill excluded student loans from bankruptcy.
Then he OWNED THEM, screwed us taxpayers, and created this mess.
Everything gov’t touches, it defiles. Not to mention the entitlement mentality it creates.
The loans we took out in our day were quite different than what’s given out to Millenials. Ours were limited in size and what they were allowed to be used for. Mine went directly to the school and i never saw a penny. Cost of books came out of a school account funded by the grants loans and scholarships i gathered. Ramen and $1 soups! Millenials often have money left over in their hands to spend on whatever. GenX loans were a completely other creature.
He never said that, nor does he believe that. He’s been talking about the improvidence of useless debt for a long time. So don’t slander here.
Thanks again Bitter groomer
Don’t miss that this move is calculated to be a win for the Deep State on multiple fronts.
– it triggers deep emotional outrage (appropriately so), but that emotion can be twisted and used by those positioned to do so. When people start thinking with their emotions instead of controlled critical analysis, bad things happen.
– It allows the Decepticons to posture, for fundraising and maintaining the illusion of choice. See the perfidious Sea Island attending Tom Cotton’s tweets today. He is doing just that.
– it pours gasoline on the inflation fire and brings us closer to economic chaos. See Sri Lanka and how the WEF managed that to their benefit.
– It appeals to both the SJW crew and the upper class suburban moms who are fretting how to afford college for the kids into whom they have invested 10, 15, 18 years worth of travel soccer, ballet lessons, summer science camp, private or public private schools, and SAT prep. That means a tiny bit of anxiety relief, which will result in suburban votes, or at least tamp down the anger at the price of food and gas.
Don’t lose the bigger picture in the outrage. Cold anger needs to stay cold, and be channeled into local action with national impact.
That approach is winning the day.
Disagree? Read the article Mother Jones just released about Liberty Moms.
Smell their fear.
A local school board voted this week to install “grooming and indoctrination” for the little ones. The opposition to this agenda was met with vile bullying. Vile in your face language, pushing their own children into opposition leaders to confront them, locking doors to prevent access, violating state law, mocking Christians, and more. An encounter with the Devil himself.
Yet parents (and I use the term loosely) continue to bring their precious children to these evil predators.
Parents need to DROP what they’re doing and remove the kids en masse.
They have no defense against the money they’d lose.
The Most Powerful Moms in America Are the New Face of the Republican Party – Mother Jones
Link to article Alex referred to above.
I’ve made use of both the GI Bill and student loans to get me through both an Associate’s and a Bachelor’s.
Cannot say I have been indulgent much at all in life but I’ve not had good circumstances either.
I’ve just had extremely difficult times just trying to make it in Maine. Wiser maybe to have moved out of State years ago where the grass is greener, ie where more of the better industries and jobs are. But then who would that leave to fix the problems here?
Sorry, bro, that won’t fly. You are “indulgent”, so says the hard workin men and women on this blog who never ever took out a loan, or even bought a DQ Blizzard.
These people are better than you. Remember this
You are making one hell of an assumption and you do not know much of anything about me in life.
I’ll leave it at that.
I’m being sarcastic, using the actual reasoning of the guy who runs this site. Don’t be mad at me, be mad at him.
Your sarcasm needs work.
No you aren’t. You’re equivocating and hoping everyone wont notice.
Hey Norm. GTFO if ya don’t like it here. And don’t come back.
Am I being indulgent by challenging the slack-jawed groupthink here? I apologize.
No your just clogging up[ a site meant for working taxpayers that are not getting their crap paid for . your useless degree was your indulgence .
Theres a difference between group think and like minded individuals.
That difference is lost on those who lean left.
Bye bye now, Norm.
You’re just so very tiresome. Go away.
Might want to go back and read the last line of Sundance’s article.
Nope
No fast food.
It’s an indulgence to me to waste my money on fast food.
It’s cheaper to fix and make at home!
Besides root beer floats always taste better when I make them
Maine is not an easy State to “make it.” I’ve lived here for 42 years. By the time I got here, the woolen mills, the paper mills, etc were gone. Then the State shut down the Air Force Base in the middle of the State.
Most of the kids today are leaving this State either to pursue a degree from another State, or if they were graduates of Uni Maine System, leave to get actual jobs that this State just does not offer.
The WEALTHY Lefty libturds have infiltrated this State. Very sad.
Hoping LePage gets elected Governor, but not holding my breath. This State has been ransacked by the Left.
Agreed, I lived there for 30 years. Very hard finding work. I lived there from 1970 to 2000. When I moved there it was a poor red state. When I left the libturds were moving in but since then it has gone crazy. They even have that ranked choice voting.
I completely understand RF Burns and his desire to live in a beautiful state and make do as he can. When I lived there, on one of the islands, didn’t matter if you had a college degree, which I had, but you did what you had to do to continue to live there..I even worked in an egg factory cracked eggs all day..ugh..but it payed the bilsl. Back then the cost of living was pretty low so that helped. Now I could never live on that island again…rich libturds have taken over.
I’m not about to give up on this State and leave it a leftist wasteland.
I have friends and family here still, and deeper roots.
And don’t forget, you have Stephen King. s/
One of the reasons that tuition is so high to begin with is because you have “professors” like Fauxcohontas being paid $350,000 for teaching ONE course. Yes, folks, ONE COURSE! And then there’s the interest-free loan she got from Harvard to buy her mansion in Cambridge, because she was a woman of color. Hahaha Yeah, I wish I was kidding.
My friend’s daughter is a professor at a college in California and she was recently called by the college she did her graduate work at (University of Michigan) to teach a two week course this summer. She got paid $11K for two weeks of work. I was an adjunct. I made $3,500 for one course for the entire semester.
It is obscene what colleges are able to pay their “staff.” Same as it is obscene that people who play “national” sports are being paid. Apparently, there are a lot of wealthy patronizers who who are fine with this and even pay over a thousand dollars to go to a game.
Same with the music industry, charging thousands of dollars to go see a current singer or band.
What the heck is happening to our country?
Affluence… For example, can you imagine the Roaring 20’s youngsters fighting in WWII, Guadalcanal, etc? No, they could fight and endure because the hardships of the Depression hardened them up.
Can you imagine todays mewling spoiled brats fighting against China or Russia, or both, and only feeling that they had “done their duty”?
We NEED some genuine hardship here, so people will learn to be self sufficient and grateful for what they have. Drive an old car, use an old phone, work 60 hours a week.
And for God’s sake, cut the entitled gubmint people first!
Federal funding of colleges, in the front door, thru grants, through the entire back door, ad nauseum. Too much easy money chasing too many goods of too little or of fleeting value.
An obvious cash-for-vote deal to get the graduate student voting bloc out to thwart a potential red wave. Hopefully, the broad middle will make them pay for their brazen disregard for the Constitution (Pelosi said last year Biden couldn’t do what he just did.)
Someone call me when cold anger turns into hot lead anger.
Should always have cold anger. That way your aim won’t be off.
I feel that a great many of us are biding our time, waiting for the midterms, to give the system one last chance to work. After that, who knows?
Exactly. Last chance before all hell breaks loose
I’m here, I’m with you, and I love you buddy.
Yeah, Cold Anger. It’s all we have left.
“They” have us boxed in with the “insurrectionist”, “domestic terrorist” crap. It’s really a projection as are most of their false narratives. “They” are the gravest threat to “muh democracy”. “They” like to say democracy because they want their emotional followers to believe they can do whatever they want if they are a majority. Constitution, rule of law be damned. “They” don’t want people to know about the more measured, rational approach that a republic provides.
“They” can’t fool God with their lies and corruption. Justice awaits them on God’s timeline.
Unfortunately, our fate at this time, is going to be the one already experienced by millions of people who lived under godless totalitarianism. Oppression, punishment, and death.
All we wanted was to work hard, play hard. We helped others, paid our taxes. “They” devoted all their efforts to their gubmint religion and how it could be used for their selfish efforts to serve their Master of Deception.
So people who didn’t go to college, like tradesmen, and now make a good living without having any student debt will be paying for the people who got a college education and still can’t find a job with their Women’s Studies majors. Seems fair, right?
BINGO! According to THEM. This will be defeated in the Courts. The sooner the better.
Our American concerto is ready for violins.
She was not humiliated in any way. Annoyed at being confronted, maybe, but definitely not humiliated. The “thank you for your time” was about as insincere as you can get.
Cold anger is turning hot very quickly. Only God can judge but I sure do want to speed up the appointments of a handful of these evil people…
What if those “forgiven debts” get 1099-C forms next January or February and all of that forgiveness is now counted as taxable income? Is it a vote-buying trap?
Pelosi eliminated the potential tax liability in the American Recovery Act. This moment has been planned for 12 years plus.
I still believe the colleges and universities that took the student loan money should repay any portion forgiven or defaulted on! Let them take it out of their endowment funds rather than our pockets, they were in on the scam from the beginning!
I read today that the loan forgiveness is not for government backed loans, but only for loans from government plans. Of course, this means that the bulk of forgiveness will be for minority students and very little for middle class non-minorities.
Another wedge in the class war that they are fomenting in DC.
I am becoming a racialist.
The guy in the video clip probably voted for Warren in the previous election.
Just sayin’.
wipe the smirk off her face
“All thoughts appreciated.”
That Father in Iowa did the right thing IMHO. He was not violent, he did nothing illegal, & confronting ‘lying-lizzie’ in that manner was probably the best thing he could’ve done considering the limited number of ‘things’ available to him.
Am hoping we can find legal, non-violent ways to resist the evil that is overtaking us. The election will be here soon. If ways are not found & implemented to keep it from being stolen, then we are one step closer to defeat. Sooner or later there will be a reckoning.
Enough of this BS. Give me a 2024 presidential candidate who vows to appoint an Attorney General who will prosecute Biden and any other government officials who hatched this loan cancellation scheme to defraud the United States.
Department of Education General Counsel has already stated that the executive branch does not have the statutory authority to provide mass loan cancellation.

This meme is so stupid…but oh so good lol
Ack !!!
makes me not even want to do the folding trick
What a memory from childhood. I still remember my dad showing me. Nothing ever like happened before or after. I still remember how strange it was coming from him. What a pigeon hole that was in. Thx
MTG SWAT is all you need to know what’s going on.
This latest move, hilighted by this and the previous article is puzzling on its face.
As a political calculation, its pretty straightforward; “will this actions get us more votes in November, than it will lose us?”
I SUPPOSE its possible the “red diaper” babies running the show, from their distorted worldview, MIGHT think this would get them votes from millenials buried in student loan debt and livingvin their parents basements, and the parents who stupidly encouraged theirckids to sign the papers.
And, perhaps they assume any votes they lose are “Trumpsters” that weren’t going to vote for them, anyway.
A more cynical, Uniparty view might be a recognition this will ANGER R voters, and once emotionally triggered, and so with their critical thinking muted, they will fall for the old “Vote for the R, cause the D is WORSE” forgetting that its the R’s that have been screwing them with their pants on, lo these many years,..
Even more cynical is this was not a “political calculation” just as shutting down oil wasn’t, it was an IDEOLOGICAL consideration, and the Insane Idiots In Charge are, being insane, NOT acting in their owb self interest.
Cold anger rolls off these people like water from a duck’s back. Fire and brimstone might get their attention, not much else. My daughter graduated from engineering school in 2016 and has never missed a payment on the loans, did not defer during COVID and now is excluded from “forgiveness” because of income level….I am so proud of her. FJB
You should be proud!
Kudos to you for raising a responsible daughter.
And Kudos to her for succeeding!
If you cancel 10k the amount of outstanding debt will return to todays levels in just 4 years
There’s something wrong with this chart. Full cancellation is back in 14 years?
The best thing we can do in our cold anger to to “Virginia” and “Arkansas” ALL the states this November. There is no reason for anyone to be voting for ANY Demon Possessed Marxist Dem, for they are either co-conspirators or useful idiots to the party out to destroy the greatest country in world history. While we have contingency plans as part of The Great Awakening and Devolution, by far the cleanest solution will be at the ballot box with absolutely overwhelming majorities for every MAGA Patriot first, then any GOP, then anyone not a Marxist Dem.
I worked never less than 40 hours a week as a college kid. Not a penny of school loan.
Hospital job. School all day, summer school and 2 under grad 2 grad degrees in 4 fields.
It can be done without borrowing. I pay for these students and nobody paid taxes for mine.
Employer reimbursed tuition which is why I had new cars and boats. new 30′ sailboat for myself as a graduation present.
I bought a farm as a student and it was paid off by graduation. (sharecropper farmed it)
No indian privilege.
Once more people come to realize so much of college is a major scam the better off the people of America will be.
I fear we are approaching a tipping point. A tipping point of no return. And I greatly fear some poor schmuck will react in the wrong way. That one morning we wake up to “the shot heard ‘cross America” on network news.
Rather than give what they want, which s violent outrage, I suggest this….:
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. (Max Ehrmann, 1927)
Sundance, it gets intense further down the thread here.
This presidential action has succeeded…in dividing a normally tranquil populace.
It will be interesting to see how things play out moving forward, nationally, as congress gets an unpleasant earful.
That’s what happens when you have no clue, no shame and wonder out of your lane. Good for him.
That man is chivalrous. He expressed the cold anger of many students and parents that worked their hands raw to pay for education. He speaks for many of “us.”
Totally agree, but where is the hot anger about billions going to Ukraine?
…
The health, energy and food shortages/crises are being engineered by the totalitarians before our eyes in real time. No surprises here. How is it that we can find no way to stop these demons who are dismantling our country and killing us in the process?
I keep thinking that the INSURANCE COMPANIES that insured these plants, farms, factories, etc, are either being bought off, or threatened by the gov’t in some way.
There have been billions of dollars of destroyed current and future value … Why no uproar about it??
I bet there’s a real pile of. Rap in there, and I’m going to ask Edward Dowd to research it. There’s definitely a story there, and it’s a dirty one.
Cold anger isn’t getting us very far. Kind of running out of options.
“The Beast and the Ten Horns you saw will hate the Harlot. They will make her desolate and stripped bare; consume her flesh and burn her with fire.” ~ APOKALYPSIS 17.16
. . . and everyone in these countries whose governing bodies have turned and began waging war against their people also hate the ‘Harlot’ which are those governing bodies. This is by design to get people to yearn for someone to come along who will perform a ‘great reset’ to save them from these traitors who’ve betrayed the social contract between the governed and the government. Hmm, I wonder who that one person will be . . .
“So, ladies and gentlemen my plea today is for countries to come together to create the environment that enables every sector of industry to take the action required. We know this will take trillions not billions of dollars. We also know that countries, many of whom are burdened by growing levels of debt simply cannot afford to go green. Here we need a vast military-style campaign to marshal the strength of the global private sector with trillions “AT HIS DISPOSAL”, far beyond global GDP, and with the greatest respect beyond even the governments of the world’s leaders. It offers the only real prospect of achieving fundamental economic transition.” ~ Prince Charles, Duke of Edinburgh’s statement on 31 October, 2021 at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) held in Glasgow, Scotland
” . . . they receive authority as kings with the Beast for one hour. These have one mind, and they give their power and authority to the Beast.” ~ APOKALYPSIS 17.12-13
The only way to fix this is to vote these charlatans out of office. To do that we need to fix the voting fraud that let them get into office. Voting fraud is everywhere: https://frankspeech.com/shows/moment-truth-summit-start-finish
Sundance – “This is the powder-keg that sits underneath the quiet surface of cold anger.”
And the ONLY reason that anger will eventually be taken serious is the 2nd Amendment, which hasn’t been mentioned here.
The father in the video was right … they are laughing at us.
They are laughing because they think they can get away with most anything now and we’ll just do what he did.
And they’ve demonstrated that they can get away with most anything.
In protests, in courts of *law*, at the ballot box, in the schools, in the media.
But there is still one thing they don’t currently control.
The fact that citizens far outnumber them and have far more guns.
But ONLY when we show we are prepared to use those two advantages, will they pause and reconsider.
Even then we may have to actually use them to stop them now.
They are that fanatical.
“Misplaced corrective action, regardless of intent, is neither safe nor wise….”
I’m reminded of the Great Resignation of 2021.
No one got together in secret. No secret email threads were created.
We just individually all together decided we would not submit to the CDC mandates.
What would happen if we stopped sending our children to college all together?
This is a way of paying the universities for their support… loans paid off means more students attend!!
“This is a way of paying the universities for their support”
Absolutely right. Leftist universities (meaning just about every university) have been essential to the indoctrination our children in leftist ideology. It’s a large part of why we are now where we are as a country..
The equitable solution to compensating those who’ve paid down student loans is to simply declare these accounts tax write-offs over n years at (say) $7,500+ per annum.
Once scuttering Pelosi-crats see substantively falling tax receipts, who they gonna call? Rat deadbeatcan can extort Randi Weingarten and SEIU ichneumenids to make up the difference..
Me Too ! Worked OT , bought used cars saved and paid for my child’s education when do I get a brake
She is a mean vulgar nasty person…in person. A witch
