Loretta Mester, the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, appears on CBS Face the Nation to discuss inflation, the economy and monetary policy. Ms Mester is in a tough place, because she cannot admit the influence of federal monetary policy is far outmatched in the era where Joe Biden energy policy is limiting oil and gas development and creating massive inflation.
Mester does admit the supply chain crisis will extend well into 2023, but blows hopeful unicorn wishes by projecting that price inflation will temper by the end of this year. From the perspective that 20 to 50% price increases on critical goods (housing, food, fuel, energy) are unsustainable in repeated cycles, she is correct; the rate of inflation will lower. However, that’s only because the baseline prices will have increased so high the rate of increase measure falls. WATCH:
A $4 item that gains a $2 increase holds a 50% rate of inflation. The next year that $6 item again has a $2 increase, but the rate of inflation drops to 33%. The price increase is the same, but the rate of inflation drops. That’s what is going to happen in the second half of this year. FUBAR
The White House is doing this on purpose in order to chase their ideological dreams of sustainable energy and climate change. Energy prices underline the entire economy, because oil and gas prices touch everything. Insofar as they continue the war against coal, oil and gasoline, there’s nothing monetary policy can do to combat inflation. The Fed must however, pretend not to know things.
I’m planting a bigger garden this year.
We are too.
Added a greenhouse, chicken coop, a couple farm animals to the outdoor garden. I have an artesian well that feeds a large fish pond. The “sludge” that comes out of the filters when added to my compost makes incredible soil, and all the fertilizer the plants need for a growing season. Tons of dried and caned foods of all kinds, just in case. Just added a really nice cross bow, and an air rifle that can take down a deer. You need a special compressor to fill the tank, but well worth it as the bolts are super cheap and available. Already had all the standard arms everyone should own. 1500 gallon tank of Diesel, buried. Large root cellar with generator, filtered air, refers, kitchen ect.
Who knows how bad things will get, but I won’t be kicking myself wishing that I had prepared a little more no matter what happens.
Can I marry you?
Show off. 🙂
It used to be the size of a man’s wallet. Now it is the size of his chicken coup.. Let me help you out.
Here is the famous bertdilbert pickup line. All you have to do is walk up to a woman and say to her; “Lady, if I was your man, you would have absolutely nothing to worry about.”
To a woman, that sentence they can never get out of their head. You just described female Disneyland. While her head is spinning from the implications, you follow up with: “Would you like me to show you the size of my chicken coup?”
Disneyland plus the thought that she is never going to run out of eggs is totally overwhelming. You have to be fast here. She is about to lose her ability to stand and drop to the floor. This is where you will need to catch her and throw her over your shoulder.
Funny how a collage level word salad triggered garden talk.
H/T to Bert – ‘TreeHouse Bee’ headline:
Growing Inflation Causes Drunken Sailors to Cut Back on Spending
Horse manure and gardens are closely connected.
Listening to the Federal Reserve will often induce a bowel movement.
And it is not just me. As soon as she started speaking the cats ran out to the plant beds.
Demonstrating multicatteral appeal.
Politicians and bureaucrats seem to have a phobia to answering questions directly.
Our benevolent govt sure as hell ain’t gonna feed us..m
Plus pressure canning all of the proteins (chicken and pork) that you can find at a reasonable price.
I need to buy a pressure canner, lids and jars.
I started restocking on lids over a year ago, knowing what biden would do to prices and inventory in all areas.
It was obvious by last April/May that lids were no longer even IN the supply line. They were GONE. Most retailers still don’t have regular inventories of lids available.
Wal-Mart has tons of them where I live.
Walmart here in central Oregon has had NONE for at least a year. I check almost every single time I have the chance. When/if they do get some, I’ll clean them out.
Fortunately, I had already stocked ahead before last year’s disappearances.
It’s become a regular practice over this last year to go down the canning aisle to see if lids are available. They are still a hit and miss item for when they are in supply so always keep a look out for them.
Yeast for baking bread has also been a hot item that empties out the shelves more than before; have been buying up the smaller packet ones, since they freeze well and the larger jars of yeast, once opened have a shorter shelf life. When the shut downs first happened store shelves were emptied of yeast just as quickly as t-paper.
Never really thought that canning lids and yeast for making bread would be the items to be the first to disappear.
Have a bunch of yeast packets in the fridge but also feed my sourdough starter and make both kinds of bread. Ordered a packet of dry sourdough starter from Kensington sour dough in Toronto for $10 last year when our local grocery store kept running out of yeast.
You can make your own starter. Takes about a week to do, but if you know how to do it you will always have “yeast.”
I got the instructions off the internet and printed them out, just in case the power and/or internet never comes back on.
Yeast was hard to find in ’20 when we went into the 1st Covid restrictions.
Everyone was baking at home.
Was at an Open House yesterday, opened a couple kitchen cabinets totally jammed w/ the most beautiful canning jars.
Glad I’ve already got my own, but wow, it was a beautiful sight!
If you have not bought them yet, you’re behind the 8 ball. But if you wait until harves time, there won’t be any at any price.
That’s the truth. X 75.
Mouths and lids are finally back in stock and on the shelves. They have been very difficult to find the last 2 years.
My local seed and spice company sent out a copy of last years dreary seed forecast letter again this year. They said, some things are better, but most are not.
Time to go lid and jar shopping. I just got in from the garden. I planted more asparagus, potatoes and cabbage. I usually try to garden some every year, but this year I plan to be more diligent and grow more as an inflation hedge. I will probably give a lot away to friends and family if I’m successful.
With the idiots in charge, we may be looking at a Weimar situation .
Book marked a prepper guy years ago.number 1 item was saurcraut.has a lot of what we need.he talked about the ship’s hundreds of years ago at sea for months on end ,many barrels of saurcraut.
I’m planning on making sauerkraut, if the rabbits leave me some cabbage, lol.
I picked up lids and jars at the grocery.
My sister-in-law (a real city girl) recently moved to a small farm (they rent); just a couple of acres and she’s discovered she loves raising chickens, collecting and selling eggs! They are trading eggs for things they can’t grow.
If you have a small plot of land, chickens are easy, don’t cost lots and can produce an income and food to trade.
May need some livestock too.
I’ve been thinking about a couple of steers, since the Joebamas want to outlaw cows.
Wish I could but I have to stay with container gardening on my front and back patio now that I’m an old fart! Hey, it’s better than nothing and tomatoes grow like mad in a container. So do several other “crops”. Lettuces of all kinds, green onions, etc. We do what we can to help ourselves from my generation. Never depend on anything “gubmental” because they’ll let you down every time.
You’re correct “old timer” – I’m with you. Social Security and small pension have put some of us behind the eight ball big time. Too old to get a high paying job and too infirm to farm.
“WE LIKE IKE!”
Just at Dollar Tree. Everything is now $ 1.25 instead of $1.00. Thanks Joe!
I still like FJB!
So if I’m doing the Brandon math,
When we go to Dollar Tree a year from now and all items are $1.50,
Joe will have reduced inflation.
Got it.
Typical dimwit democrap math.
But then again, the people at the “top” don’t have to worry about any of this, do they . . . most of them have never even driven a car, much less filled one up with gas.
And yet, THEY’RE the ones making the rules for ordinary people?
Uh-huh, now I see the problem (it’s actually been pretty obvious since the dimwit dems started protecting Hunter-boy during the summer of 2019).
Again, however, it was OUR bad – we could have/should have seen this coming after we discovered all the cheating going on with the voting numbers. Our elected “representatives”, however, dropped the ball. Kick them all out, both parties, and start over with brand new people. It won’t improve anything but it might make you feel better for a day or two.
I remember the 10 gallon limit at the gas station in the 1970s.
That was another democrat inflation fest. I ran a couple of gas stations in Chicagoland at the time.
Was that the same time as when Dems instituted the
‘Odd or Even Day’ license plates for permission to get on line at the pump?
Yep, just got my drivers license. Ran out of gas in line and had to push my old beater more than once….
Dumb and dumber. Dumber on the left
Notice the packages containing multiple items now have fewer items in the package for your$1.25.
It’s called shrinkflation. Only way to get best deal is to calculate price per ounce.
You can thank these FREAKS too.
I was at my neighbourhood Walmart yesterday where I know all the staff, as I made it a point to do.
They have more of them changing prices than they do restocking. Now that’s a tell.
“Mai” works at the self-check line at the WM near me. She knows that I take photos of every shelf tag. It turns out that the folks at this store don’t do a very good job of changing tags. Pretty sure that prices are being changed at the Corp. HQ.
Bottom line: I get to purchase at yesterday’s prices.
I don’t believe there’s any question corporate decides the prices, HK. And the lower ranks replace the old with the new. From the looks of it, that seems to be about once a week.
Was at a Dollar Tree yesterday and stocked up on Q-tips.
The checkout guy said I did good buying the boxes of 300, since all the new boxes come with less than 100 q-tips.
So not only did everything go up a quarter, but the sizes are all getting smaller, too.
It’s sad to consider that These may be “The Good Old Days”.
This is the best it will ever be.
No, the “best it’ll ever be” was a four year period from early 2016 to late 2019.
I remember reading somewhere that the pinnacle of living standards for ordinary folks happened in America, in August of 1973 and has gone downhill ever since.
No! Having President TRUMP as our leader “were the good ole’ days!”
On one hand, I sadly agree with you…until,
I remember PDJT saying, “The best is yet to come!”
While optimism is not always my first urge,
today, I choose optimism.
He will get back in.
He will bring us back, “so fast that it will make your head spin”.
(that last quote just sounds like something he has said)
Unless we drive Mitchand his gang of Decepticons, out of Control of the Senate, and McCarthy and hisgang of Decepticons out of the House, and replace them with MAGA, AmericaFirst people who will represent US, I fear PDJT’s SECOND term, will be a repeat of his first.
McConnell did FAR more to derail PDJT and his agenda, than all the Dems in the House and Senate combined.
I think you said this before.
And I agreed with you before.
I still do!
IMHO We the people will get us back to the ole days Because we won’t last until 2024 so we must street lamp these people and install Trump into the presidency in 2022!
Exactly! When Biden deliberately shutdown oil drilling, refining and oil/natural gas pipelines it became a SUPPLY and DEMAND issue! The resulting price increases all throughout the economy had nothing to do with inflation. If you shutdown a substantial percentage of the production of oil and gas it causes the price of oil and gas to increase. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out. It just takes an idiot to blame it on inflation and we have no shortage of idiots!
As long as there are mentally ill Liberals, there will be no shortage of idiots who assist the totalitarian Globalist war criminals by their stupidity and liberal Monarch mental slavery
The word “Inflation” gets tossed around with abandonment.
Many don’t realize there are different types of inflation.
1) The government “prints” more dollars so they can spending more on their pet-projects. Since there was no increase in the amount of money; each dollar is worth less. Think of a pie? If you cut it into more pieces; each of those smaller pieces is worth less, because the whole pie costs the same.
2) The economic laws of supply and demand cause prices to increase. When FJB attacked the energy/petroleum supply; it caused an increase in the price of available supplies.
3) When it costs more to produce something; the price goes up.
All intentional.
I definitely believe it is intentional. However, I DO NOT believe it is for the purpose of “chasing their ideological dreams of sustainable energy and climate change.” That is their BS shield that they hide behind and then promulgate their holier than though, save the Earth crap. The REAL purpose is to destroy our US economy, crush the middle class, and corral their elite-POWER all for themselves so THEY can rule the planet. As a wise man keeps telling us: Once you see the strings being pulled, you can not unsee them!
Well said, that sums it up.
We attempt to explain their actions, based on trying to explain their motives and goals.
And in doing that we make a critical error; we ASSUME they are sane and rational, and therefore that their motives and goals are based on their own self interest, and grounded in REALITY.
This, despite them regularly saying things, and engaging in behaviors which clearly demonstrate they have NO contact with reality, and are doing things which are NOT in their own best interests.
When someone says and does things which demonstrate they have no contact with reality, and engages in self-destructive behaviors (not in their own best interests) we have a word for that; its called INSANE.
And, we do not spend endless hours, trying to understand the motives for their actions and words, as its a waste of time and energy, unless you are a psychiatrist or FBI “Profiler”.
They are INSANE, and that is, or should be sufficient explanation. Trying to “make sense” of insane behavior is a wasted effort.
IMHO, wresting control away from these insane people is worthwhile, trying to analyse and explain their actions is a waste of time and energy.
i agree with you about insane people.
But then there are evil people who aren’t insane who do things based on what they believe is best for themself with no care for those they harm along the way. It is those kind of people whose motives we should try to understand.
Yes….
And another wise and great man said –
“Everything woke turns to shit.”
According to FRANCE 24 News, “Emmanuel Macron has topped the voting in this first round with 28.1 %
Marine Le Pen is second place with 23.3 percent.
They are now France’s two finalists for the April 24 run-off.”
GOOD LUCK LE PEN !
Quite a few candidates. She’s close enough that she can get the “2nd choice” vote and win. 🙏
Seems insane to me Micron got any votes. SMH
The French like their free stuff too!
Dominion voting machines, may have been involved.
“Asked an answered”; France has a voting system we WISH we had; no machines, paper ballots, hand counted, transperency, ID required, etc.
However, there are NUMEROUS ways to control the outcome of elections, messing with the ballots (in numerous ways) is only the most obvious.
Creating or infiltrating the “controlled opposition” party, so the choice presented is really no choice, is far more prevalent, and less obvious.
And yes, Parliamentary systems, with mutiple parties creates additional opportunities to “game” the system.
WE have an Elite; they enjoy and benefit from being in CONTROL, and so are going to game the system, to insure THEY stay in control.
Not sure why that is on this link – but she will not win unfortunately -same result as before ~ 3rd place finisher with 20% is a French leftist /socialist , a spoiler – his voters will migrate to Macron not to her – she doesn’t have enough votes to pick up IMHO – France is a socialist country
Just like Buchanan was hijacked after he won the paper ballot NH primary in 1996 after the polls said he was going to come in 5th or 6th to try and siphon votes away from him and his Anti-NAFTA/WTO/Immigration Moratorium campaign.
True. Unfortunately, if the top 8 candidates voters move enmasse LEFT or RIGHT; the election result later this month will come out about 55-45 for the socialist/globalist Macron.
I just read an article somewhere this morning, saying that France’s election is on a Sunday. What a great idea! The USA needs to do that.
Hungary’s recent election was also on a Sunday.
The other candidates will coalesce behind macron, as usual, and it will end up 75/25
N O P E!
They are coming for ordinary people.
Mester has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barnard College, Columbia University in Mathematics and Economics and a Masters and Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University. She was also a National Science Foundation Fellow at Princeton.
Again, you see in these Elitists backgrounds and the same associated elite Colleges… Columbia, Harvard, Yale and Princeton almost always show up as their education…. You’ll also notice how many Lawyer Politicians went to these 4 colleges….Almost half of Congress are Lawyers…
Lastly, 8 of the 9 SCOTUS Justices went to either Harvard or Yale..Wow, what are the odds???…..Barrett is the only one who didn’t….Boston college I believe…..
Loretta Mester also has never ran a business, made payroll or has worked in the private sector….Yet, she’ll tell you how to run your business…..
Truth be told, in the circles of power if you don’t have a degree from an elite institution, then you will never be part of the club.
Barrett got law degree from Norte Dame I think.
Yes, she did.
Rhodes College, then Notre Dame law school.
OKI Dopey: She was “allowed” by the Club to become a Supreme, but, she’s not part of the Club. She just gives the Club a nice face.
Barrett may not be part of the Club, but she gives the Left her vote.
Sure about that?
As I recall both Barrett and Kavanaugh worked for GW Bush during the 2000 Florida recount effort.
Yeah, and wasn’t GWB such a great Uniparty hack choice?
Ticked all the right boxes for the confirmation. In practice? Not so much.
Betsy jones: Yup.
I’ll double your “Yup”… and raise you.
Columbia U is the epicenter for Cultural marxists aka Critical Theory=Critical Race Theory that is racist against Caucasians and wants to destroy our culture/society/economy/nation. Traitors and criminals comes to mind.
Loretta Mester also has never ran a business, made payroll or has worked in the private sector….Yet, she’ll tell you how to run your business…..
Somewhere out there there’s a meme of a woman wearing a hardhat and holding a notebook at a construction site. The caption reads:
“I have no idea how to do your job, but my book tells me you’re doing it all wrong”
The entire illegitimate administration, spends every day pretending not to know things. While the White House imbecile, limits oil and gas development, to combat the climate change illusion. Climate change, global warming, or whatever other BS term is used, continues to be the ongoing democrat hoax.

I cut the cord in 2005! Cheers to me!!
My sanity and blood pressure levels are very important to me. Did the same.
WOOHOO! The feeling is like going on a lifetime vacation! I did move to the Yucatan too!! Freedom!
Good luck to you. Had a time share there in Akumal. Enjoyed it as it was as yet undiscovered by the world and his wife. Good while on it lasted..
Watch that movie it will lower it! Cheers btw Bet.
To you as well, C! Will do.
We did too but still get plenty of news wihout so much bias. Not to mention all the TeeVee we can stand.
Chart of who “owns” the Federal Reserve

The 1906 Jewish Encyclopedia described the Rothschilds as “the guardians of the PAPAL TREASURE”. Jewish solidarity in the family was not homogeneous. Many Rothschilds were supporters of Zionism, while other members of the family opposed the creation of the Jewish state (ISRAEL).
None of this would have happened had Mitch McConnell and establishment Republicans not played along with Biden and the Democrats. It’s all malfeasance.
To further the point at the manipulation of numbers. That $4 item that went up $2 and $2, means you need a 100% increase in after tax income to keep up with inflation.
You can be certain the the Uber Wealthy and Politicians have always had a plan to make others pay for their profligacy.
MMT. Modern Monetary Theory, is just an old fake. Debasing the currency.
I don’t know about inflation sticking at a fixed dollar increase, $4, $6, $8, $10. Even a fixed percentage increase, $4, $6, $9, $13.5, may not be enough to satisfy these malignant cancers running the show.
Everything is connected; all part of the plan to enslave humanity. Mel K shares the people involved and how they are actively working to control every aspect of our lives:

Lying is an effective mechanism when the audience is willing to be deceived.
I don’t even want to know exactly how much of our population believes that electricity is derived from the wall socket, food occurs at the grocery store, and health care is primarily a political issue.
And that the latest round of inflation is because of “Greedy Corporations”.
They’re really feeding that line to braindead Dems and the stoopidest among them are eating it up>>> great way to take the blame off of Joe and Crew.
Federal Reserve 0.25% interest rate increase will do nothing.
Inflation is a lot higher than the phony CPI of 7.9%.
Inflation is well above 35%. The price of everything from
Homes to food to gasoline is constantly going up.
Price is no longer Stable.
Spoken from the mountain top of truth.
And will never come back down.seniors on fixed income will be back on dog food if you can find it.
Election Fraud put Joe Biden in the White House.
The Economic Policy of Democrat politicians will economically
cripple the USA and demolish the Supply Chain.
Inflation will obliterate the buying power of the Middle & Lower Class.
True, BUT we could never have gotten to where we are today without that GOP/Republican Party side doing their best to comply with the globalist agenda in the first place. It took all of Congress and the politicos to get us to where we are today ALONG with the compliance and consent of the people.
Time to end the consent to be ruled by these evil criminals.
Pretending not to know things that we, John Q Public, know just makes them sound incompetent, stupid, and not in charge of their brief.
Which I actually think they are…or we wouldn’t be in the inflationary mess we’re in. Keynes has a whole lot to answer for.
“How high’s the water, mama?”
“Five feet high and risin'”
Just keep bringing in illegal aliens and Indian green card holders to suppress wages ……. That will fix everything. Did someone say “Let’s go Brandon”?
ya just came from the grocery store to get few things. Average price of everything is $5, cereal, bread, milk, any snack bars…
The primary role of all the Fed Governors is to contradict each other.

Good day btw friend!
It’s likely that the inflation RATE will temper later in the year because of how it’s measured.
This gets a little arcane, but imagine the price in January 2020 is 1000, February 2020 is 1001, March 2020 is 1002, and April 2020 is 1003, and that low inflation is sustained for more than a year. The year-to-year inflation RATE that is measured is January 2021 versus January 2020 is 1012 versus 1000, or about 1.2%. February 2021 versus February 2020 is 1013 versus 1001, about 1.2%, and so forth.
Let’s say in June 2021 instead of 1017, the price is 1018 (+2 instead of +1). July instead of 1019 (+1) it is 1020 (+2). The true inflation rate has doubled, but as it’s measured year-to-year, you’re looking at a much more gradual increase — August 2021 (1022) versus August 2020 (1008) is an increase of about 1.4%, when the reality is that on a monthly basis prices are increasing 2.4%.
So by the time the full increase is baked in, as it is now, whenever it levels off it will overmeasure inflation for a time until the leveling off is fully baked into prices, which will take a year. So yes, tighter monetary policy could be working, but it would not be visible for several months because of the way inflation is measured.
Troubled by these days and times.
Loretta Mester: “And we’ve also put out some information about how we are planning to reduce our balance sheet assets that we also bought in great quantities to support the economy during the pandemic. So that process is underway and that will help to reduce excess demand, which is outpacing constrained supply and bring price pressures down.“
If the Federal Reserve sells off assets it will pull money out of circulation. If it’s assets are sold at a discount, similar assets will be marked down by the financial markets.
This will shrink the balance sheet of any entity holding these assets, e.g., retirement accounts.
If banks are holding mortgage-backed securities that the Fed bought at par but sold at a loss, their reserves will shrink. Loan activity will decline.
So yes, the Fed can reduce inflation but not without bringing on a recession.
“Among those who think the economy is bad”
So…. they omitted government officials from the survey.
Yeah, plant a garden. It might be wise to put razor wire around it with a few booby traps. Keep an eye out for thieves sneaking in to strip any fruit trees at three in the morning also.
jasi joe: Another optimist. Glad to meet you.
Already happening sadly. Gas kicked it off now stealing food from gardens and fruit.

Don’t blame them. It was completely out of their control. Completely….like Dangerous Liasons.
Is the FED just pretending not to know or do they really have no clue how markets and the economy work in practice?
With everything I have seen in the last 30 years I’m having a really hard time deciding if they are just a bunch of clueless, overpaid bureaucrats or a truly evil group of globalists working as hard as they can to destroy America’s economy. Either way, we are in deep do do.
Never stop posting this
“If socialists understood economics they wouldn’t be socialists.”

I don’t think anyone in the Biden administration believes in the climate change ideology . They use it to manipulate their control over people and it profits those they want in place.. Useful idiots.
Oh, rest assured they are mostly crazed true believers.
They secretly worship at the altar of man-made global warming.
Imo, the crazed true believers are the ones being lead by the nose and towing the fear porn propaganda that allows evil to operate. Those in charge don’t believe in anything but raw power over people, truly evil.
Observing the obvious here, but all of this is mostly on-purpose. Giving them credit for everything happening as-planned is silly because they really are pretty dumb. They want as much instablity as possible and destroying our sources of energy is a great way to achieve that. It’s really the foundation of our modern existence.
The Fed has over-driven its headlights too. We have massive inflation while at the same time artifically-low interest rates. They have completely f’d up our financial system and me thinks it’s mostly on-purpose.
I remember the 70’s with similar inflation numbers. Bank CDs were paying 10-15% APY depending on term. Most local banks today are paying .25%. They are basically stealing 10% of your wealth every year on top of all the other theft they commit. How much longer you think this can go on without a complete financial collapse?
Counterfeiting will be making a return, the black market always has customers.
Even someone with no more than school Math knows that if you do not live within your means you cannot borrow your way out of debt and poverty. It is quite baffling that these financial gurus think they can convince us plebs otherwise. Debt and poverty can be addressed by working hard and becoming more productive but not by becoming more reliant on a nanny state, the printing of enormous amounts of money and manipulation of the numbers.
This lady needs to explain where all the goods and services are that warrant printing of tens of trillions of dollars. How can this prevent a massive devaluation of the hard earned savings of frugal people making it ultimately worthless?
see the website of demonocracy dot info with its video that visualizes in physical cash the $10+ Trillion that has been pledged to be printed in 2020 by US Gov and Federal Reserve. (an average of ~$27 Billion per day).

Yes! I agree. But we’re still not addressing the root cause. And they’ll continue to step on our faces ’til we do.
Why r u referring to it as Joe biden’s energy policy when he’s nothing more than an installed relic w dementia… if all alternative news sites started exposing / naming who r running the wef show, more sheeple would wake up. It’s no longer humorous
This has been DECADES in the making… And not one single president or party has done anything but help us off a cliff!
We like it ignore monetary policies when Republicans are in charge and then rave about them when the Dems are in power.

The $4 item inflated by $2 in year one for a 50% rate and inflated again by $2 in 2nd year for now a 33% rate can be looked at another way.
A $4 item inflated by $4 over 2 years is a total 100% inflation. Or an average of 50% per year.
This is the way to respond to the Washington DC spin.
The Fed is going to jack up interest rates massively which will throw the economy into a deep and painful recession with high unemployment. It’s historically the only way to wring out inflation. This is going to get very ugly. Biden will be blamed. But the Democrats have no intention of running him in 2024 so he’s expendable. The Democrat 2024 candidate will claim to not be associated with the Biden regime and will ride to the rescue to fix everything. And the dumb rubes will of course vote for that.
It’s fairly simple to fire the retro rockets on inflation: the House goes after the budget with a double-bit axe. When the government stops spending money it doesn’t have, inflation hits a concrete bridge abutment. That’s why people consider voting Republican: they think the GOP will show some fiscal restraint. History, however, informs us that that’s truly the triumph of hope over experience. The GOP has NEVER for its entire existence produced a budget that was smaller than the year before.
So, you’re thinking of voting R in November because you think that will slow or halt inflation? That’s so cute 😉
I’m studying cannibalism options! Elections matter more than ever. it’s us versus dedicated Marxists led by President Obama.
The products which make it to our store shelves, are delivered by trucks & vehicles motored by gas. When fuel more than doubles, with expectations of going higher, it’s safe to assume that prices will rise & availability will fall. Beijing Biden’s first action as POTUS was to create this dilemma. by punishing the oil industry. He & his administration, with the help of the Partisan Protective Propaganda Press insult the intelligence of the people, by blaming it on Russia.
The incredible and sad irony is that by choking energy production, the Fed’s are also choking the innovation they hope to spur in “clean” or “renewable” energy. You can only innovate and advance technology so far by candlelight. The pace of innovation increased as reliable cheap energy became a constant. When reliable cheap energy is reduced or withdrawn, the pace of innovation will slow. These are truly shallow, stupid people.
Someone needs to figure out how to burn coal, gas and oil efficiently. I’d bet money that these industries have the technology, they just don’t want to spend the money too soon, thinking the inevitable Republican landslide will overturn current policy. But what if it plays out the same way as 2020? There was a 2020 landslide, but he isn’t in the White House.
