I don’t know if the war in Ukraine is satisfying everything China wants. I see that they are the big winners in how this is playing out, but I think that even if our media doesn’t acknowledge it, American consumer spending is shrinking. That doesn’t serve China’s interests. Neither does an anticipated short fall in wheat crops or the rise in world wheat prices that seems to have resulted.
I think that is why Xi might have said in effect, “This war doesn’t serve anyone’s interests.” The funding for it is increasing inflation which depresses US consumer spending further.
To the extent the entire world economy contracts simultaneously to the United States, China will be affected yes.
Less economic purchasing by consumers (U.S. and Global) means a smaller Chinese GDP (economy). However, smaller is relative to stability. The U.S. and EU are profoundly unstable economically, financially and fiscally. China doesn’t have that same weakness.

Major U.S. conservative news seem to have been compromised contributing to political warmongers and many on the right pressing for no-fly zones and getting Americans to support sending weapons to Ukraine. They don’t offer these suggestions with an exit plan for WWIII. They just hope it happens sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, they treat Volodymyr Zelensky as a messiah figure despite his historical governing records. Many causing deaths are elements of Zelensky’s governmental history of authoritarianism, Nazism, and a hard embrace from both George Soros and Klaus Schwab. America’s politicians, corporations, big tech/social media platforms and news outlets are all no less guilty of the ongoing war crimes.
