Interesting choice of media outlets for his final nail delivery. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) appears on Fox News to confirm the Build Back Better negotiations are done, and he’s done, and the $4.5 trillion legislation is dead. During the expanded explanation by Senator Manchin, he points to two primary issues with the bill.
First, it is a massive takeover of the U.S. economy, and the basic outline of the bill details never changed. The ‘negotiations‘ that were taking place amounted to the White House putting an ever shorter end date on the legislation. The Senate was giving the appearance of a lower cost by shifting the sunset clause; however, from beginning to end the scope of the legislation never changed.
Second, the issue of inflation has been created by Joe Biden policy. Regulations, energy policy, monetary policy, reckless fiscal policy and massive spending have led to massive inflation. Manchin explains how inflation is not sustainable for his constituents in West Virginia.
In my opinion, Manchin is positioning himself for a Democrat presidential race.
It is not coincidental that Manchin makes this statement today, on Fox News, as polling shows massive drops in support for Joe Biden. Manchin knows he is sitting in a spotlight of an inflection point. Manchin is politically astute and cunning to the ways of politics. Manchin comes across as meek and mild-tempered, a man of reasonable disposition… but that doesn’t accurately portray his cunning. This is his chance to make a big move.
Senator Joe Manchin also knows that Democrats are going to implode, as the Obama allied communist puppet masters behind Biden have a one term agenda to exploit their control over the dementia patient currently occupying the White House. Manchin knows the collapse of the Democrat Party is his opportunity. He also knows THE REALITY behind the released Marist Poll [data here] showing a majority of non-communist Democrats want nothing to do with the senile occupant of the White House.
Manchin is again making a BIG club move by positioning himself as reasonable right now.
Manchin is testing his strength.
Manchin will likely be the #1 contender in 2024, and he knows it.
Manchin is cunning.
Manchin is not only reaching out to ‘moderate’ registered Democrats….
Manchin is reaching the minds of registered Republicans.

Bill Clinton played the “Triangulation” strategy better than almost anyone else…but, IMHO, he was never anything more than a jovial narcissist, with an “Aww, shucks” good ol’ boy attitude, who learned how to play the political games well enough to get girls, which was clearly his main goal in life.
Hillary was always the radical one in their relationship, but she is (and always has been) an unlikable grifter and shrew, with a known propensity for lying through her teeth, so she had to find a guy who was a rising star and hitch her wagon to him, which probably galls her “I am Woman” soul to its core! Manchin was around in those days, when the Blue Dog Democrats were on the rise, and I suspect that he watched and learned a lot and is smart enough to see that the Squad is overplaying their hand and pushing away a lot of people! Sundance is correct – he is positioning himself to be the sane voice that can “bring people together” (ironically the same promises that George W Bush made – remember when he called himself “a uniter, not a divider”?) I wonder if Tulsi Gabbard is seeing the same opportunity and is playing the same game as Manchin, maybe positioning herself as a VP pick?

By positioning conservatives as far right, compromising with the left appears as a move to the middle. It’s actually a move to the left if one uses “level of government control” as the scale. As you move left–there is more control leading to tyranny. As you move right, it is less control which leads to anarchy. Moving right is actually libertarianism not conservatism. Conservatism is positioned in the center as it “conserves” the original intent of the Constitution–no more, no less.
As the Great Reset proceeds (Tower of Babel 2.0), the younger uber billionaires can wait out another iteration of overreach, tolerate the political pendulum swing back (a Manchin-Gabbard type ticket) and then another push to the left again. Wonder if the George Soros and similar elder urber rich crowd have that much patience to go through another cycle or two. Seeing how big the cheat is in the 2022 election will be a strong indicator of their level of patience.
Keep in mind that Joe Manchin was Governor of WVa and in that role learned at the elbow of one of the most successful Congressional Pork Masters in history, Robert Byrd (whom Manchin replaced).

In a weird way Joe Manchin is trying to do to the democrat party what Trump has done to the Republican Party.
His success or lack thereof will depend on the level of grassroots support he can muster from the non- woke democrat contingency and independents. If he creates a significant following he could bury the wokesters and GND crowd and be an ally in the short term by
splitting the dem party.
Many will be tempted to feel sorry for Manchin when the Communist Democrats attack Manchin.

Some moderates like Joe Manchin and Tulsi Gabbard (who also appears on Fox from time to time) would bring back the Democrats to a moderate position, BUT, it would split off the progressive/communist wing unless there were agreements in place to “appear” moderate and actually be all for the green new deal, voting reform, gun control, etc.

Make no mistake, Joe Manchin aligns with the Democrats in control. That should be kept in the forefront of everyone’s mind. Had Joe Manchin truly wanted to do what was right, he would have left the Democrat party. WV has gone from old world Democrats (aka Blue Dogs) to a Republican State. Being a Republican in WV no longer means failure in politics. Just the opposite now. Where is Manchin? Still a Democrat.
As someone who has lived in WV for most of my life, I can say that Manchin will vote whichever way the Democrats want, provided it allows him to stay in office. And the Democrats in control know without a doubt that as soon as Manchin votes for any bloated bill, he’ll get tossed on his rear end by West Virginians. And the Dems also know that they need every single one in office to absolutely stay there because of the massive losses coming up in 2022.
So, Manchin is doing exactly what he’s done all along … bargaining with the Dems in control for more power for himself. He holds the cards right now and is using them. He’s done this before. He’ll do it again. I’m sure Manchin is eyeing the White House … but like Sanders, I can’t see him making it there. Those in control need a malleable agent, like Obama and Biden. Manchin doesn’t fit that profile. Manchin may think he’s being politically astute, but he’ll get played in the end.
Oh, Manchin may toss his name into the presidential ring in 2024, but the Dems in control won’t allow him to grab the nomination. They’ll play him like a fiddle all the way up to that point. He doesn’t fit the profile for whom they want in that office. Mancin’s ego is big enough for him to miss the fact that he’s being played. He’ll think he’s got the upper hand … he doesn’t and I highly doubt he ever will.
Regardless they are all Uniparty so I will count this as a win for now.
