We were in the middle of a (near) whole house tear-down remodel last year and depended on electric space heaters (the heated oil type) to get thru the winter.
My PG&E bill for 4-months last winter was $6,000.00!!! Yes, $6,000.00!!! We had replaced our main electrical panel and meter right when we started using the space heaters … and PG&E stopped sending us an electric bill for 4-months while they sorted out the change (you’d have thought their “Smart Meters” would have sent data to them immediately?)
I’ve never had a winter bill greater than $400.00/mo.
What this taught me is that if and when I ever plug-in an electric car and charge it every night/day … my PG&E bill will necessarily skyrocket!! PG&E “green” electric rates are the effen highest in the nation … and going higher.
Soon, the average schlub won’t be able to afford either a gasoline automobile OR an electric one. It’s onto the stabby-busses for the lot of ya! Yes. This is by design. Evil design … pure evil.
