Starts at the local level. Elect MAGA style candidates. Vet them and hold them accountable. It also starts in the education system. Make a point to see what your kids are being taught. Elect school boards that reflect your values and hold them accountable. This is winnable.

Last year the Minneapolis City Clowncil had an unvetoable majority in favor of abolishing the police; they had to put it on the ballot but the mayor couldn’t do anything the way the city was set up. It was a free-for-all with 14 people in charge, which is untenable. Last week we voted for 1) a strong mayor, so no more free-for-all, just one guy in charge; 2) retaining the police department and 3) half of the Clowncil was replace including the dork whose solutein to all the crime was to fire the police spokesman, he later emailed the City Clowncil President demanding to know how people were finding out about all the carjackings! That gives me hope.
That is only good in the long term. We have to get this garbage under control now!

The “green” energy advancements are good for the economy is they provide energy at lower rates – I believe the advancements in battery technology will be amazing in the next few decades.
We average Americans simply want abundant, cheap energy. We don’t care where it comes from: solar, wind, coal, natural gas, oil, etc. There’s no reason we can’t have cheap oil (read gas/diesel) while the “green” movements occurs – we can have both, one doesn’t hold the other back.
We need abundant, cheap American made energy. We need American manufacturing – look at Tesla and Space X.
Most, importantly we need the swamp drained ASAP.
They have to keep the price of oil high to make green energy competitive, but its a double edged sword for the Democommies, because higher oil prices helps the smaller producers like DanTexas wrote about above. Higher oil prices will cause more production to come on line. More supply lower prices.

How many of those wells are in remote areas away from any sort of infrastructure that could be utilized vs flaring off natural gas onsite for less than it would cost for transport by any means?

While Xi’s pledge [to stop build coal-fired power plants aborad!!!!] is a step in the right direction, the fact that it does not extend to projects within China’s borders will greatly lessen its impact. China, the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases, generates one thousand gigawatts of coal power domestically, accounting for over half of the globe’s total and more than four times that of the second- and third-largest users (India and the United States).
China continues to add coal-fired power plants within its borders, bringing forty-one gigawatts of coal power on line in 2020 alone, which accounted for seventy-five percent of the global total. Even if Xi’s announcement reduces future carbon dioxide emissions by two hundred million tonnes per year, that is only half a percent of annual global emissions. Until China moves away from coal-fired power domestically in addition to fulfilling Xi’s pledge to stop backing coal power abroad, it will be much more difficult to address climate change.
