I’m in the energy sector- solar and wind will never replace fossil fuel power production (not in our lifetime anyway).
The capacity factor for solar and wind is very low.
Nuclear is the only viable “green” option for large power production. And, in the U.S. nukes are shutting down because the government has made their operations close to cost prohibitive. And building modern plants (i.e. vogtle 3/4) is too costly for the same reasons.
