Sunday Talks: Steven Schrage Appears to Discuss His Role in “Spygate”…

We have a saying in the south: ‘hang around a one-legged man long enough and eventually you’re gonna start limping‘.  This interview is an example of how that cuts through the BS, spin and political chaff and countermeasures.  Steven Schrage should be trusted as far as you can spit into a hurricane – which is to say, not at all.

First, in an article to accompany his media effort, Schrage waxes philosophical and woefully about how his years-long good friend and phd supervisor, Stephan Halper, the one-legged character in the metaphor, turned out to be a politically motivated snake and spy.  Oh, but all the years previous this wasn’t noticed?  Not buying it.

Second, Schrage sat and watched Michael Flynn and Svetlana Lokhova get raked over the coals for three+ years only now, right now, to find his conscience bothered by his participation in assisting the lies pushed by his friend against them?  Isn’t that convenient timing?… Yeah, sure. I might have been born at night, but I wasn’t born last night.

Third, Schrage notes he was interviewed by John Durham. Horsepucky. Durham doesn’t interview anyone; someone else does, someone very specific; and the fact that Schrage has no clue who that person is implies an aspect to the side-show he now presents as total nonsense.  In short, this is a distraction story…. Look over there…. shiny things.

I’ve watched and researched these intelligence characters for so long their M.O. screams like visible strings on marionettes. And yes, once you see the strings it’s impossible to return to a time when you did not see them. This interview is a purposeful ruse.

[His article here]

I also do not fault Matt Taibbi or Maria Bartiromo for falling for it.

Devin Nunes was right about Schrage a YEAR AGO:

[…] What you have there is, you have an American citizen, somebody who’s long been involved in politics, and the guy’s name is Steven Schrage. Now, knows that the House Intelligence Committee, the Senate Intelligence Committee, the FBI, we want to talk to anyone and everyone who was dealing with Carter Page and other Trump associates, especially in early 2016.

Schrage is the one who invited Carter Page to this event. Schrage is the one who organized this event. So — but instead of coming forward, a guy who’s been involved in politics for this long doesn’t come forward? I want to know, did he know about the Steele dossier at that time? When did he find out about the Steele dossier? Did he have control of the Steele dossier at any time? Did he give it to anyone?

Those are the types of things that Steven Schrage needs to come clean on, because, you know, look, maybe he was just a guy working for minimum wage sweeping the floors around Cambridge. I highly doubt it.

And the fact that he hasn’t come forward in two-and-a-half years is highly suspect. Now, when you look at the other Brits that were involved there, Maria, if you — this also ties in with General Flynn, because these Brits were the ones who went public and said — specifically, Christopher Andrew said that General Flynn had a Russian girlfriend.  (more)

Nice try…

Crickets so far from MSM concerning Schrage’s interview with Maria and his tape of Halper’s predicting Flynn would blow up just before he did. The Deep State generally orchestrates MSM coverage to amplify their stories. So I’m keeping an open mind as to his motives. My initial guess was that he is part of Barr’s partial hangout plan, by which some version of accountability will play out, while not doing too much damage to our clandestine services.

As to Durham never interviewing anyone, I find that assertion contrary to what I know of good prosecutors. First interviews would all be done by FBI, yes, but prosecutors have to assess their key witnesses, too.

He’s clearly been so close to the Deep State as to either be a card-carrying member, or someone able to describe many of its workings.

Good to keep an open mind.

The “crickets” might only indicate that not all the pieces of whatever the narrative is to be, have yet been dropped. If so, once they do, that’s when to expect the MSM to go full-bore with it.

Starting it up with Zerohedge, which calls Schrage a,”Whistleblower ” in tonight’s headline. That will make the rounds on Twitter. Plus Taibbi is currently playing “real journalist who refused to put his head in the sand.” Which may be true. But maybe not.

Nevertheless, there aren’t many journalists left who were on neither the average CNN viewer’s “how dare you even give that person the time of day?/automatic lalala fingers in the ears” list nor on the soon to be “wait, they outright lied to me/were rubes?” list.

Taibbi has actual credibility with people across party lines, and can’t be discredited with clips from just two years ago carrying water for Avenatti and McCabe . . .

He’s a good choice by the DS to introduce this “hey, here’s some nuggets of truth and let’s run some fall guy trial balloons” effort.

Note: this has not been validate but it makes for a good story until then

The Cambridge meet was set up by Steven Schrage who was listed as a doctoral student of Halper’s. He was also DoS and CIA. He was on Romney’s Election staff 2008. Steven Schrage sent out the invitations. Carter Page became close with Schrage and Halper. Schrage also introduced a former CIA operator to Romney named Cofer Black. Black served on Burisma’s Board in Ukraine at same time frame as Biden. IMO Schrage, Black, Halper and Romney are CIA assets. They set up the meeting offshore.

  10. John E. says:

I believe he actually did say he was interviewed by Durham during the Bartiromo interview. I spent more time thinking about why someone would claim that if it weren’t true and the only thing I came up with was that it would lend some credibility to his story. That can make sense if you suppose that most credibility from DC swamp creatures is of the manufactured sort, as opposed to actual, earned credibility.

  11. Paul Hanlon says:

I read his piece on Matt Taibbi’s blog, and I thought this was great information, but it didn’t sit right. Listening to his conversation with Halper, he wasn’t pushing back, in fact it was as if he was drawing Halper out. Also, what was the conversation that led up to Halper talking about the NSC? It sounded to me like Schrage said he wanted to work for Flynn, and Halper was warning him off.

So from earlier comments, it sounds like he worked with Mittens and McCain. He mentions in the piece that he’s going to out a guy who was trying to get a very important job, in order to undermine PDJT. That sounds like Mittens to me.

He’s outing him to cover up something, and I think that that something is he was the one who gave the dossier to McCain. Conveniently, McCain is dead now, so he might just be able to get out ahead of what’s coming by coming forward now. I don’t think it goes any further than that.

Has the IC (C.I.A.) put up a candidate to go head-to-head with Sundance’s information who would vie for airtime with SD’s “bridge”, diluting such information, causing confusion, constant “shiny object” crapy, all the while being given credence by continuing to appear w/ Maria B., whose last comment was referencing his return?

IC/C.I.A./Go8/MullerTeam interjecting all this just before en banc hearing and Sundance’s release.

It looks like what he is saying is true but not the whole story. All the info he provides doesn’t help now when it could have helped much earlier.

Can Durham get ahold of foreign intelligence assets for an interview? It was reported he interviewed MIFSUD. Was Halper ever interviewed? How about Dearborn or the other guy? Probably not, and it can’t be accomplished now before the election in all likelihood.

Schrage as the conduit for the dossier to McCain based on what Devin Nunes said about him a year ago makes a lot of sense but we already have a record of McCain’s chief of staff(?) going to London to retrieve the dossier. He may have been complicit, like helping set up the exchange.

  15. Remember the old Clintonian scandal strategy employed whenever they got caught:

    1) Deny, deny, deny (until credible evidence is uncovered then)

    2) Delay, delay, delay (until they run out of stalls then)

    3) Claim that “everybody does it” (If a real investigation is undertaken then)

    4) They control the justice system and no one is ever held to account (then)

    5) If ever asked about it again, say that it’s old news and there was nothing to it

We are at stage 3 where they’re throwing their republican accomplices into the mix and No. 4 isn’t the reality anymore, so things ought to get real interesting real soon.

Steven Schrage is packed so full of it that it is spraying out of his mouth.

I read the tripe and Matt Tabbi’s site and it is clear that Schrage is trying to steer the narrative away from the truth. He his happy to spin away on half truths about Flynn and Carter Page, but keeps well away from Papadopoulos. Schrage is trying for the “Comedy of errors” excuse.

But his avoidance of the OCONUS lure operation against Papadopoulos reveals Schrage to be a disingenuous player.

Papadopoulos was supposed to take the bait offered by Mifsud and go chasing mysterious Russians with “Dirt on Hillary”. All would be tracked by searchs of the NSA database. But Admiral Rogers blinded the co-conspirators on 18 April 2016. They had to send Downer to check if their plot had worked, and found out late that they had failed.

After that “Comedy of shrieking panic” would best describe the actions of the co-conspirators. Admiral Rogers is on to them and they are suddenly needing a Title 1 FISA warrant and they don’t have a plausible target …

Using Carter Page was never part of the original plan. That was an act of desperation by weasels driven mad with fear.

I think the guy is trying to paint himself in far too favorable of a light. Like Oh I just now listened to the tapes and golly gee I realized Halper already knew about Flynn. Baloney. The only question is why this piece. It’s really not that much of a diversion and will not go anywhere given the large amount of info that still needs to be public. A pretty weak attempt IMO

We that have been reading the powerful work of Sundance everyday since 2017 knew after the interview and article were posted today that this was a ruse. Any man that had this knowledge about Flynn and kept silent this long is guilty of false witness by omission and silence. He knew and said nothing. He’s guilty and the injustice done to Flynn is on his name forever unless he calls Flynn and makes a public apology with money behind it. That’s how it works–you don’t get to absolve yourself in an interview with no cost to you. How about you write a check to Flynn for one year of your salary to show you are really repentant you lying creep.

Further…it’s all the Cambridge 4 we need to pin it on. See, they, not being US Citizens are not subject to US criminal laws.

    so you are wondering:

if this guy schrage is part of the setup why would he appear to be implicating halper.?

first, these a trained spooks in the dark arts of misinformation.

second, when there is a real danger of getting exposed the smart play it to proactively send out the first layer. schrage is not out here trying to separate himself. hes not looking to insulate himself.

what this is: lying in broad daylight…live..

its sets the early narrative….with just enough facts to be authentic “looking”

halper is in zero danger here. it was likely his idea.

    the taped audio is key

it will be later shown that this audio is not admisible….that is why it was played.

it also serves to provide a legal argument that halpers rights have been violated…and a very long suit of course against schrage about recording it and then playing it on live tv…(wink wink)

no man could ever have a fair trial argument. yadayada

    do not look away.

the deepest early members of the coup are actively steering a course toward a certain conclusion.

Obviously something has occurred to warrant this sudden urge to come forward.

Durham is going to interview Brennan with regard to technical workings of the CIA. The CIA is heavily involved in Cambridge University and Brennan would most certainly know about the Cambridge 4. Maybe Schrage is worried about how his activities might come to light and as SD says, he is trying to get ahead of the facts coming out.
