God Bless The Diplomatic Restraint of Secretary Pompeo – Joint Presser With Sanctimonious Freeland…

God bless Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for having the diplomatic restraint to stand next to the absolute worst diplomat on the planet and retaining his cool.  Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland stands atop her proverbial high-horse and pontificates a diatribe that only a smug leftist can deliver.

If you are familiar with world events,… and you don’t want a blood pressure cuff to explode,… then don’t watch this joint press conference. [Transcript likely later today]  If you’ve ever watched two diplomats pretend to have any commonality, while simultaneously jabbing each-other in the eye, this is an audio-visual exhibition:

.

To say the Trump administration and Trudeau administration are ideologically oil and water would be the understatement of the year. The U.S. and Canadian, political, cultural, geopolitical and economic outlooks are entirely divergent.

That reality is one of the reasons why an open U.S. Ambassador to Canada position is unlikely to be filled.  Seriously, who wants to talk to these smug and condescending jerks?

The Canadian ambassador to the U.S. also recently resigned. There is just no point to it. Everything is pretend now; and neither country is very good at pretending. Under Trudeau Canadian political policy, and the downstream issues therein, just sucks.

Both nations pretending to the international community it’s just a trial separation; but the whole neighborhood knows it’s a divorce.

♦Within the press conference Minister Freeland starts by using the worn-out and tired talking points about how the U.S. and Canadian military have worked together, fought together and died together… blah, blah, blah.  It’s the same narrative positioning used by Trudeau/Freeland every time they clutch their parasitic pearls and demand equivocal status -in all things- from the U.S.

Minister Freeland literally stands atop her podium and spouts about the importance of NORAD and the U.S-Canadian military alliance within NATO… While simultaneously Canada doesn’t even live up to their NATO funding obligations:

Canada hides behind the skirt of the U.S. to inflate its self-importance, and yet it won’t even live up to its financial obligations.  Hubris thy name is !

Also keep in mind, Canada is in the G7 for no apparent reason other than the historic connection to the U.S. has allowed them presence on the world stage.

Why isn’t Brazil in the G7?

The Canadian economy is far below all other G7 members; they only exist in the G7 group because of their relationship to the U.S.

Fortunately and rightly, Secretary Pompeo jabbed Freeland and Trudeau over their lack of  NATO funding during part of his presser remarks.

Additionally, remember the big stink Trudeau and Freeland made about the Section 232 steel/aluminum tariffs President Trump put on Canada?  Well, Freeland was pontificating about that again today, only to her surprise a Canadian journalist caught her off-guard.

In the Q&A portion of the presser Minister Freeland was specifically asked about why Canada continues to allow Chinese Steel to be dumped into Canada, and how the Canadian Steelworkers were impacted by this never-stopped (despite promises) process.  The issue surrounds the Canadian LNG pipeline and export hub (port).   Trudeau and Freeland are allowing super-cheap (dumped) Chinese Steel for the project.

You think she would answer the question about her hypocrisy?  Oh, hell no… she spins a yarn about how LNG is so much better to save the planet; and never addresses the issue of the Canadian government allowing China to dump steel in Canada, which was the entire purpose of President Trump putting 232 tariffs on them in the first place.

Hopefully Canadians can get rid of this insufferable duo in their October elections.

It would be so much easier to like Canadians again if they could just get rid of these condescending leftist nuts that have taken over their government.

I digress.

Kudo’s to Secretary Pompeo for his restraint…. It was quite obvious during several moments that Pompeo was actively using that thumb tack he put in his shoe before the presser. (guessing)

Her ideal mate is a garden gnome. Same height, goofy face, and concrete head.

We’l surround Canada when we pry Greenland out of Demnark’s fingers. In exchange for our female national soccer team. That’ll turn Dane PM Femme Fredricksen’s head.

And then we’ll ask the reasonable provinces (Ontario thru Alberta) if they want to join our ongoing experiment in democracy.

Canada lost a lot of their best French settlers when the Brits deported the people of Acadia (aka Nova Scotia) to Louisiana and elsewhere. Their descendants are the Cajuns, who helped Andrew Jackson at N’Awlins in 1815.

The Cajuns eat snakes, kill gators, and save people from drowning. And speak French, cook great food, and are faithful spiritual sons and daughters of patriot and saint Joan of Arc. Anne Murray’s ancestors were Acadians who escaped the deportations, and she has talked about that piece of her history for decades.

All I can say is I’m glad we have the Cajuns. They make this country better. And they vote for Le Grand Orange — Donald Trump.

This presser tends to confirm something about USMCA chess gambits suspected earlier.

Lets assume Canada ratifies soon after the October election. Trudeau wins, its his deal. Scheer wins, he needs it with Canadian economy sinking. That very day PDJT triggers NAFTA§2205, unilateral exit on 6 months notice. Puts a timing gun to Congress’ head to replace with USMCA.
Remember PDJT has said can live with a no NAFTA no nothing America first outcome.

Lets assume Senate approves it around yearend, soon after Canada. No reason to go before, which is why PDJT has not been pushing yet for Congressional approval. Not yet timely.

Hands Pelosi a no win situation.
She gets it approved, hands Trump a big promises made/kept election year victory.
She balks, and PDJT immediately cuts a USMCA equivalent called USMA (no C) bilateral under 19USC§2902. Good for up to 10 years with NO congressional approval. Keeps AMLO happy and stiffs ‘insufferable’ Canada. And hands PDJT a great ‘retake the House’ election issue.

And if my assumptions are wrong, PDJt triggers NAFTA§2205 any time he sees fit (say Canada dawdles after election), then does the Mexico bilat under 19USC§2902 and still ends up in a very good MAGA place. Canada NOT in forecloses that China route via tariffs, and a Mexican bilat forecloses that route by agreement.

No way after this presser that PDJT cannot win, and Pelosi cannot lose. Thanks, Freeland.

Interesting take on the possibles. Not sure if the taking of the “C” out of USMCA is workable, but POTUS runs on a line of thinking we aren’t all that savvy with yet. I’m still trying to comprehend that Greenland deal that came out of left field. POTUS doesn’t do things half-a$$ed, so there’s a rhyme and reason for it. Time is definitely on our side though.

Mineral resources. Greenland (and Antarctica) are the two last remaining landmasses that have not been thoroughly explored for ores, and Greenland’s geologic age (Precambrian, much of it) simply screams ‘mine me’ to the less ecologically sensitive. One Belt, One Road. The problem with the Han Empire is that they don’t have the navy to protect its vast overseas investments from disruption (and are unlikely to have for a while), and right now they can’t count on the US Navy to protect the shipping lanes for them.

Plus a more effective military. The TX Army & Air National Guard, after borrowing all TX based USCG assets, could probably handle the Canadian Armed Forces without too much trouble. Only RCN Halifax class frigates have much capability; a few Harpoon SSM and Sea Sparrow SAM, but small magazines. Four 1980’s-era Victoria class diesel subs, that may still be able to put to sea. (Serious issues with those UK hand-me-downs.) RCN Kingston class patrol vessels are defanged; just two M2 HMG for weapons now. Less combat capability than the 154′ USCG Sentinel class cutter.

Interesting, I had just been over on c-span.org and had started watching this and turned it off after one minute because of the need to say everything in both English and French. Drives me crazy. Then I came over here and saw a better video quality so I watched the whole thing and man, does that woman drive me crazy with her sniffing…the sniffing is actually an elitist thing that professorial types do to show how smart they are or something. I know because I have a sister that does that when she is pontificating and she’s an elitist academic leftist.

And Canadians used to be such nice people…well, I suppose they still are but from others have said here they are all anti-Trump because of their media.

The silver lining is that Trump/Pompeo have a competitive advantage when negotiating with the Canadians because Trudeau/Freeland’s motivations are transparent. In other words, rather than working on behalf of the Canadian citizens best interests, Trudeau/Freeland will behave like democrats in an attempt to defeat Trump. It is not in the best interests of the Canadian people to allow Chinese dumping of steel, however if they stopped the dumping, it would look like a victory for Trump. Knowing this, Trump will always be able to get what he wants by forcing them into a position that is opposed to the best Interests of the people. We have seen this in the U.K. and now they have elected someone who will work with Trump instead of the democrats.

Minister Freeland stated that over 300,000 Canadians live in Hong Kong. I don’t have complete stats to determine how many of these Canadian citizens were involved in the “birth tourism” industry in Canada but it is a contributing factor.

“Under the Citizenship Act, all babies born on Canadian soil are automatically granted citizenship, except for children of foreign diplomats” and as the Supreme Court of Canada decided, the children of Russian spies that were born in Canada.

In the western province of B.C. alone, “more than two dozen private “baby houses” were set up to accommodate pregnant mainland Chinese travelers. Infants with non-resident mothers made up 22.1 per cent (474 babies) out of all newborns in the 2017/2018 financial year at Richmond Hospital, where the practice is soaring.” (South China Post 2018). The article’s facts are accurate and possibly free advertising for any Hong Kong or Chinese person hoping to acquire Canadian citizenship and the access to “free” medical and schooling for their child in Canada later. The family then usually returns to China unlike the USA’s anchor babies and their parents.
