But seriously, you must watch this video of Kerry on Meet The Press. He seems genuinely stunned.   This is incredulous, unbelievable….. this is just… incredulous, abhorrent, cannot be happening.

On March 6th 2009 then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously used a prop, “a reset button“, to announce a new approach toward relationships between the United States and Russia.   Clinton presented the button to her counterpart, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

In an attempt to break the ice with Lavrov, Clinton handed him a makeshift “reset” button wrapped in a ribbon at the start of their meeting. Laughing, she told the foreign minister that “we want to reset our relationship” and “we will do it together.”

Lavrov promised to keep the button on his desk, but pointed out that the Russian word written on it, “peregruzka,” meant “overload” — not “reset.”  (link)

At the time many people forewarned the Obama Administration was taking a very naïve position if they collectively thought the Russians would in any way align with U.S. interests.

The reasoning for the caution was simple. For two decades the general Russian political class had felt “the West” in a general sense, and the U.S. in particular, had been dancing in the end zone about the collapse of the Soviet Union. Death may cast a frightening shadow, and we accept to be helpless in its presence, but we are not alone.  We can struggle with other enemies – pain, suffering, disease, injury – but strength and courage cannot overcome death. It has the final word. Only one person can walk with us through death’s dark valley and bring us safely to the other side — the God of life, our Shepherd.

Together in faith, as they have been throughout life – – At 3:30am Eastern Time the journey for Sharon and her Dear Husband came to an end.    Our eternal Shepherd took home his beloved child, Sharon’s husband.

Update “Off Again” – Rep. Darrell Issa doesn’t know what he’s talking about, the attorney for former IRS official Lois Lerner said Sunday.

Issa, the California Republican who chairs the House Oversight and Reform Committee, told “Fox News Sunday” that Lerner, the former head of the IRS tax-exempt division, would testify before his committee Wednesday, which he said he had been told by her attorney.

That attorney, William W. Taylor, said Issa is wrong.  “As of now, she intends to continue to assert her Fifth Amendment rights,” Taylor told POLITICO. “I do not know why Issa said what he said.” (link)

WASHINGTON DC – Former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner, a central figure in the IRS scandal, will appear before Congress Wednesday after refusing to testify last year on the matter, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said Sunday.

Issa, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, told “Fox News Sunday” that Lerner’s lawyers said she will testify before his committee, after saying last week that she would not.

“It’s going to be a good, fact-finding hearing,” he said.

The convoy includes at least 13 troop vehicles each containing 30 soldiers and four armored vehicles with mounted machine guns. The vehicles — which have Russian license plates — have surrounded the base and are blocking Ukrainian soldiers from entering or leaving it.

From a very young age I remember my family heating with wood. Our house had a masonry fireplace. And later a wood-fired boiler.

 Early Memories

Up through my early grade school years my father owned his own construction company. Business was good and our heat came in the form of saw logs delivered, for a fee, from a friend at a tree service company. I remember some of these maple and oak logs being larger in diameter than I was tall. The log trucks would drop them right in the drive way and we would turn them into cord wood. I was not allowed outside while dad was bucking logs, but I spent a lot of time watching through the window that over looked the driveway. He had a McCulloch 10-10 saw with a 20” bar. Even from inside the house that saw was painful to the ears. I can’t recall if it had a muffler. If it did, it wasn’t very effective. I’m sure the neighbors were pleased… (more…)

Traditionally, the U.S. military has always enjoyed high approval ratings from the American public at large – they support the military in funding; in its non-combat humanitarian missions as diplomatic outreach (such as the US Navy Hospital Ships, USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy); and are, for the most part, proud of the work that the US military does in defending freedom and the highest ideals of “America” –

individual liberty, peace, free trade, domestic stability among the many hallmarks of the “shining city on the hill”.  In very few other countries, do so many citizens have direct experience – having served, themselves – or a first degree relative connection to someone who has served in the armed forces. Anyone else here catching on to a trend ?

(Via Daily Caller) Police charged a New Jersey man with resisting arrest and assaulting an  officer, but recently revealed footage from a dashboard camera told a different  story: Not only did the officers start beating the man for no apparent reason,  but they actually crashed one of their vehicles into the man’s car.

Then they allegedly lied about what transpired and suppressed the evidence,  but were somehow found innocent during an internal investigation.

Prosecutors, however, dropped all charges against 30-year-old Marcus Jeter, a  black man, once they saw the incredible video footage, which fully corroborates  Jeter’s side of the story.

Jeter was not resisting in the slightest. And yet he was eventually charged  with eluding arrest, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. Prosecutors  offered him a plea deal of 5 years in prison, according to Watchdog Wire.
