The full speech (both video and transcript) by President Obama yesterday at the National Counter Terrorism Center, McLean Virginia.  Presented below for two reasons.

• #1 To share the substantive information provided by the President of our United States.
• #2 Because, in my humble opinion, having spent considerable time following nuance and inter-governmental messaging, this speech -and included insurances- as outlined within the President’s delivery, are 180° divergent from the FBI federal complaint released yesterday in the San Bernardino terrorist investigation.

You just have to read the criminal complaint to understand how supremely jaw-dropping the entire construct against Enrique Marquez actually is.  Two things to note:

• #1.)  Pay attention to the actual 911 call by Marquez on page 26, 27 – GOOD GRIEF !
• #2.) Someone please explain to me why his “Green-Card Wife”, Mariya Chernykh, aka Mariya Gigliotti, is not also indicted.  Please explain this.

The sense of it is the FBI-DOJ people who wrote this complaint are trying to send a signal to the rest of America – around a Presidential office hell bent on avoiding reality and downplaying the content. You’ve just got to read it.

During one of the FBI debriefings, in the aftermath of the San Bernardino attack, it was noted that reports had come in to local law enforcement about specific mid-Eastern males casing movie theaters.  The mention quickly went down the rabbit hole.  However,….

(Via Deadline ) With a rush of holiday moviegoers and following some suspicious activity outside theaters in at least two U.S. cities — one last week in Southern California and another in Arizona last night — exhibitors across the nation have “doubled” workforce security in preparation for the 4,134-theater release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

It is understood that armed guards will be on duty in some cases and that heightened security at the nation’s theaters will be in place throughout the holidays.

The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) sent a notice out to its members about both suspicious incidents, Deadline was told, including the latest incident in Tempe, AZ.

When contacted by Deadline, a NATO spokesman said, “As a general rule we don’t comment on security issues.” (more…)

The first trial by Marilyn Mosby against officer William Porter has resulted in a deadlocked jury. According to CNN and Fox News a mistrial has been declared.

Day Two of Jury Deliberations – Judge Williams tells them to start over and try again…

BALTIMORE – Jurors in the trial of Officer William Porter reported Tuesday afternoon that they were deadlocked — but Judge Barry Williams sent them back to continue deliberating.

The jurors considering whether Porter is guilty of manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office had spent about nine hours deliberating when attorneys were called back into Williams’ courtroom at about 3:30 p.m. for a jury note. (more…)

Interesting sub-story to the Jessica Chambers murder investigation.  Reporter Therese Apel provides information on considerable gang and criminal sweep occurring as an outcropping of the year-long murder case.

The arrests are unrelated to the Chambers case – they are as a result of information gathered during the investigation which revealed additional criminal activity in/around the Panola County area.

MISSISSIPPI – Seventeen people have been charged in north Mississippi as a part of a major operation targeting suspected gang members called “Operation Bite Back,” officials said.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Don Alway announced the offensive early Tuesday morning.

The jury is now deliberating in the case against Officer William Porter.  Baltimore Mayor Rawlings-Blake has activated emergency operations in anticipation of the verdict – in case of riots.  Legal observers think it could go either way depending on the emotional influence in the jury.   (Legal Insurrection has a breakdown of the closing arguments HERE)

(Via Baltimore Sun) Prosecutors said in closing arguments Monday that Officer William G. Porter‘s failure to help Freddie Gray turned a police arrest van into a “casket on wheels,” while Porter’s defense attorneys said the state’s case was based on theories and asks jurors to fill in the blanks.

While prosecutors had hinted at it during trial, Chief Deputy State’s Attorney Michael Schatzow directly accused Porter of lying about his account and suggested a “coverup.”

Defense attorney Joseph Murtha said there were high legal bars for the state to reach with its evidence in order for jurors to convict — bars they had failed to reach. (more…)

President Obama and DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson at the heart of the issue.

( WASHINGTON DC )  A secret U.S. policy that prohibits immigration officials from reviewing the social media messages of foreign citizens applying for U.S. visas was reportedly kept in place over fears of a civil liberties backlash and “bad public relations.”

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson refused in early 2014 to end the policy, even though several other officials in the organization pressed for such a policy change, ABC News reported Monday. (more…)

Two reports from Europe highlight the ongoing concerns of additional terror threats.  In the first report from Switzerland the Swiss authorities have arrested two Syrian males traveling in a vehicle containing trace explosives:

(Via AP) GENEVA — Two Syrians arrested in a vehicle containing traces of explosives have not been clearly linked to four men with suspected ties to the Islamic State group who are wanted by Swiss authorities, the Geneva prosecutor said Saturday.

The arrests of the two Syrians on Friday came amid stepped-up police patrols in Geneva. Authorities raised the security vigilance level and announced a hunt for at least four suspects allegedly linked to IS who were believed to be plotting a “specific” attack in the city.
