Representative Bob Goodlatte is the House Judiciary Committee Chairman, and the senior chair of the joint Judiciary/Oversight committee looking into the activity of the DOJ and FBI during the 2016 election. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is scheduled to appear before the committee leadership on October 24th.
Maria Bartiromo has stayed on top of this story almost from the beginning. Bartiromo has a very strong foundational knowledge that allows her to probe Goodlatte on his specific intentions for the upcoming testimony of DAG Rod Rosenstein.
While Carter Page was the primary victim within spygate, George and Simone Papadopoulos have been put through the targeted wringer. George Papadopoulos has been punching back lately and exposing the origins of the corrupt weaponized intelligence operations used against the Trump campaign in 2016.
Against a rather enlightening week of activity from within the DOJ and FBI, last night I posited the question:
“If the FBI and DOJ were not institutionally corrupt wouldn’t we have seen multiple whistle-blowers this year?”
The purpose of the question is to draw attention to an empirical reality. By now we understand many of the big picture details behind DOJ and FBI efforts to weaponize the institutions of government to target their political opposition, namely Donald Trump.
With the removal of so many officials within the institutions, the question becomes less rhetorical. If the corruption is removed, where are the ‘rank and file’ whistle-blowers surfacing from underneath the now replaced leadership? Why haven’t we seen anyone from within the system come forth to tell their story?
Where are the voices of the officials within the FBI data forensic units who were given restrictive analytical instructions on Clinton laptops and hard-drives? Where are the voices of the investigative field agents charged with finding leakers? Where are the voices of the non-corrupt employees inside the DOJ-NSD or FBI who watched for two years as the small group within upper level offices controlled/scripted the activity? etc. etc.
The larger question is not asked to state emphatically no such honorable “rank and file” exist; but rather to highlight: if they do exist, then why are they invisible? (more…)
Representative Ratcliffe is a straight shooter; unfortunately he also has confidence in Trey Gowdy. Mr. Ratcliffe discusses the DOJ negotiating with congress for the terms of appearance for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein; and other matters….
Congressional Testimony Today – [Background] The political opposition research and propaganda delivery firm, Fusion-GPS, hired Nellie Ohr in late 2015 to work on Russia-centric issues due to her expertise and language fluency. After Hillary Clinton and the DNC hired Fusion-GPS for opposition research and political assistance Nellie Ohr was part of the “Trump Project” which evolved into the “Steele Dossier.”
Nellie Ohr’s husband Bruce Ohr was the number four official in the DOJ and participated on behalf of Fusion-GPS, the DNC and Hillary Clinton as a back channel of information from his wife Nellie Ohr and her co-contractor Chris Steele into the FBI to support the creation of the Trump investigation.
Simultaneous to these events the FBI Chief Legal Counsel James Baker was meeting with lawyers (M. Sussmann) representing the Clinton Campaign and DNC. The Clinton lawyers were also providing political opposition research toward the same collective FBI effort against their political opposition, Donald Trump. (more…)
Former FBI chief legal counsel James Baker appeared before a joint committee in congress today for his second round of questioning about the DOJ and FBI activity during the 2016 presidential election. Nellie Ohr is scheduled to appear tomorrow.
Previously James Baker informed the committee of his contacts with Michael Sussmann, a lawyer representing the DNC and Clinton campaign, and the objectives of using opposition research provided by the DNC as evidence to support a politically motivated FBI investigation.
Mrs. Nellie Ohr, scheduled to testify tomorrow, was hired by Glenn Simpson of Fusion-GPS to coordinate with another subcontractor for the writing of opposition research which became known as the Steele Dossier. Like the information provided by the DNC through Sussmann, the Steele Dossier was also used as evidence by the FBI against their political target, Donald Trump. {Go Deep on Nellie}
The latest development now has Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein agreeing to a very limited and very controlled interview by only the chairmen of the joint committee on October 24th. (more…)
Methinks Mr. Lou Dobbs is encapsulating a great deal of MAGA frustration the American people currently have with the United States Department of Justice:
.
It appears that Team Mueller is waiting for the outcome of the midterm election to determine how they write their investigative summary. Team Mueller has absolutely nothing to do with a presumed figurehead, a human person, named Robert Mueller. It was the “team” who selected Mueller, not vice-versa, for exactly that reason.
Meanwhile, everyone might remember the useful idiot called James Clapper. There again, was another doofus who was enlisted to run the ODNI specifically because he was too stupid to run anything, and simultaneously could not realize he was a tool for others. Well, they didn’t break the mold when they created Clapper, they only shelved it for a few years and took it back down to appoint current FBI Director Christopher Wray. (more…)
You might remember back in May 2018 when sketchy porn lawyer Michael Avenetti was releasing U.S. Treasury notifications on Michael Cohen received from an unknown source within the Treasury Department [See Here]. You might also remember when New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow wrote a sympathetic article after talking to the leaking treasury official [See Here]. As a result the Treasury Inspector General began an investigation.
Today, a U.S. Treasury employee named Natalie Mayflower Sours-Edwards was arrested and charged with leaking to numerous reporters multiple financial reports about suspicious financial transactions related to: Paul Manafort, Richard Gates, Maria Butina, and others. [DOJ Notification HERE]
EDWARDS, 40, of Quinton, Virginia, is charged with one count of unauthorized disclosures of suspicious activity reports and one count of conspiracy to make unauthorized disclosures of suspicious activity reports, both of which carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
Appearing for an interview with Marth MacCallum Judiciary Committee Representative Jim Jordan discusses Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and the refusal of Glenn Simpson to deliver testimony to congress.
The DOJ Office of Inspector General released an interesting investigative summary report today following a review of a “senior FBI official” accepting tickets from a “television news corespondent” and lying to investigators about the events. The IG noted “criminal prosecution was declined”. Now Senator Chuck Grassley wants the details:
