DOJ Fast and Furious Election Eve Document Dump – Justice Department Turns Over 64,280 pages of Claimed ‘Executive Privilege’ Operation Fast and Furious Documents

(Via House Oversight Committee) Last night, in response to an Order from a Federal judge, the Department of Justice turned over 64,280 pages of documents that were withheld from Congress after President Obama asserted Executive Privilege on the eve of a contempt citation for Attorney General Eric Holder in June 2012.

The sheer volume of last night’s document production—which consists entirely of documents that the Justice Department itself acknowledges are not covered by Executive Privilege—shows that the President and the Attorney General attempted to extend the scope of the Executive Privilege well beyond its historical boundaries to avoid disclosing documents that embarrass or otherwise implicate senior Obama Administration officials.
In effect, last night’s production is an admission that the Justice Department never had legitimate grounds to withhold these documents in the first place. Approximately two-thirds of the universe of documents that the Justice Department withheld from Congress has now been shown to be well outside the scope of Executive Privilege. (more…)

Valerie Jarrett Key Player In Fast and Furious Cover-Up…

Judicial Watch – President Obama’s trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, was a key player in the effort to cover up that Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about the Fast and Furious scandal, according to public records obtained by Judicial Watch.
Obama with Valerie JarrettThe information is part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) “Vaughn index” detailing records about the gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious. JW had to sue the agency for the records after the Obama administration failed to provide them under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). A federal court ordered the DOJ to provide the records over the agency’s objections. Yesterday JW reported on the broad information in the records, including that Obama asserted executive privilege for Holder’s wife as part of the administration’s efforts to cover up the scandal.
Practically lost in the 1,000-plus pages of records is an index that shows Jarrett was brought in to manage the fact that Holder lied to Congress after the story about the disastrous gun-running operation broke in the media. (more…)

Stunning: Trying To Protect His Foot Soldier – President Obama Exerts Executive Privilege Over Letters Between Eric Holder and His Wife (Sharon Malone Jones)…

Judicial Watch has just CRUSHED mainstream journalists. Here’s the backstory and link to the full FOIA outcome:

(Judicial Watch) […] On June 28, 2012, Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt by the House of Representatives over his refusal to turn over records explaining why the Obama administration may have lied to Congress and refused for months to disclose the truth about the gun running operation. It marked the first time in U.S. history that a sitting Attorney General was held in contempt of Congress.

A week before the contempt finding, to protect Holder from criminal prosecution and stave off the contempt vote, President Obama asserted executive privilege over the Fast and Furious records the House Oversight Committee had subpoenaed eight months earlier. Judicial Watch filed its FOIA request two days later. Holder’s Justice Department wouldn’t budge (or follow the law), so JW filed a FOIA lawsuit on September 12, 2012.
But then the Justice Department convinced U.S. District Court Judge John D. Bates to stay our lawsuit, in part to allow ongoing settlement discussions between the Holder’s government lawyers and the House Committee to continue. Unsurprisingly, the “negotiations” between politicians running the House and the Justice Department went nowhere. (more…)

Politically Obvious – Obama Appointed Judge Will Not Hold Eric Holder in Contempt of Court Even Though Holder Is Defying "HER" Court Order…

You just can’t make this stuff up. A liberal activist judge -forced to follow the law and legal precedent- tells the DOJ they must turn over Fast and Furious documents. The DOJ refuse. The federal judge then gives the DOJ a deadline for producing the documents. The DOJ ignore the deadline, and again refuse. The judge is now in a position of having her own court order defied by the entity under her jurisdiction… so she punts, or, well, ‘kicks-the-can’ down past the election.
holder and obamaWASHINGTON DC – A federal judge has declined a House committee’s bid to have Attorney General Eric Holder held in contempt of court — and perhaps even jailed — for failing to turn over documents related to the Justice Department’ s response to Operation Fast and Furious.
However, in a ruling Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson also denied Holder’s request for an indefinite stay of her prior order that the attorney general must turn over any “non-privileged” documents the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee subpoenaed as part of an investigation into the botched gunrunning investigation. The judge previously ruled that Holder must give the panel any documents that are not both predecisional and deliberative in nature. (more…)

A smidgen of sunlight: DC District Court orders DOJ to release Fast and Furious documents sought by Judicial Watch

Eric+Holder+Fast+and+Furious+Policy
In response to a lawsuit filed by government watchdog Judicial Watch, a federal court rejected legal arguments by the Obama administration and ordered the Justice Department to release certain information about “Fast and Furious” documents it is withholding from Congress and the public. Analysts and lawmakers have long argued that Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, the latter of whom is still in criminal contempt of Congress, are trying to cover-up details in the deadly “Fast and Furious” scandal, which saw the Obama administration put thousands of weapons into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. The latest order could finally shed some light on what the executive branch is trying to hide.

U.S. Border Patrol Under Machine Gun Fire – "I don't know why we're out here like sitting ducks," one Border Patrol source said. "We need help."…

Last week we shared the story of reports from inside the Border Patrol who refused to participate in removing the Murietta protesters.   When DHS riot squads were called into action by the Obama administration the Border Patrol warned they would ‘stand down’ and not enforce -or participate in- the aggressive tactic.
In response to that article many people said such a position was hard to believe because the current federal government has so radicalized and militarized so many agencies – people simply find it hard to believe the BP law authority would refuse to obey.
I kept quiet and chose not to argue the point.    However, what many people forget is how the Obama regime began their tenure.  Remember Brian Terry, or Fast n Furious?   The Obama administration has been openly and specifically hostile to the U.S. Border Patrol boots on the ground.   The BP know this administration does not care about their personal safety.   Today’s border activity is yet another example of why, if push comes to shove, the Border Patrol will side with citizens, not the administration:

FOX EXCLUSIVE: RINCON PENINSULA, Texas — U.S. Border Patrol agents on the American side of the Rio Grande were forced to take cover Friday night when high-caliber weaponry was fired at them from the Mexican side of the river, sources told FoxNews.com.
The weapons were fired at the U.S. side of the riverbank in the area of the Rincon Peninsula across the Rio Grande from Reynosa, Mexico, at about 8:30 p.m., sources said. Bullets ricocheted into an area where Border Patrol agents were positioned, Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, told FoxNews.com(more…)

Eric Holder: I'm Not Directing our Use of The Race Card Toward Everybody, only Toward "some people"…

The ridiculous claims by Attorney General Eric Holder are belied by a wide range of diverse aspects;  I’m going to point out two.
First, as Holder admits he plays the race-card directed toward “some people”, not all people.   However, the stupidity of this deflection is inherent when you think of the result as compared to the approach.
Stating he can direct the playing of the race-card, toward specific personages is counter intuitive to the reality that the policy he shields behind it cannot be similarly divided.

You cannot defend legal policy, or the application therein, by saying “fill-in-the-blank people” won’t like this, ergo my policy is subject to attack by racist recipients, without yourself being racist as you consider its construction.
Either the policy stands scrutiny regardless of contingent or coalition or it does not.
If you assemble the legal policy based on the color of the skin carried by the recipient of the policy, then the policy itself is racist.

The Consequence of The Bundy Standoff ? – Eric Holder: We Need To Revive “Domestic Terrorism Task Force”

Clouding the “Domestic” aspect under the guise of “radicalism” allows Holder to conflate the intentions of his goal.

Eric Holder Finger PointWASHINGTON DC – Attorney General Eric Holder, citing an “escalating danger from self-radicalized individuals within our own borders,” said Tuesday that the Justice Department will revive a domestic terrorism task force.

The task force was established after the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 to share information about domestic threats. It was set to meet the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, after which the country turned its focus to terror overseas.

“But now, as the nature of the threat we face evolves to including the possibility of individual radicalization via the Internet, it is critical that we return our focus to potential extremists here at home,” Holder said in a weekly video. (more…)

Sharyl Attkisson Interview Part II – Questions of Phone and Computer Hacking Asked… Interesting Response

Howard KurtzFinally someone, actually Howard Kurtz, asks the question that many people want to know the answer to.

BACKSTORY – For those who might not have paid attention over the past two years, Sharyl Attkisson was doing some great investigative reporting on the DOJ, Eric Holder and Fast n Furious gun running scandal. Her reporting then shifted to look into what actions were taken by the DOJ *AFTER* the scandal broke, and the wagon circling around the White House began.
Then, in the fall and winter of 2012 and 2013 Sharyl began looking closely at the Benghazi fiasco.
In the midst of her investigative reporting (May 2013) a mysterious series of hacks began into her computers both at home and at work, in addition her phone was tracked and hacked.
CBS publically admitted in June of 2013 something nefarious was going on.   Sharyl reported after several weeks of looking at the issue she knew ‘what’ and/or ‘who’ was to blame.
Howard Kurtz asks what was the outcome of all of this ?

Whoah ! Sharyl Attkisson Resigns CBS – Report: "Frustrated by liberal bias"…

We predicted this outcome a few years ago – but it still comes as a shock:

Sharyl Attkisson was the best reporter, by far, on both the Benghazi story and Fast n Furious scandal. You might remember her phone and computer were hacked by unkown government entities who were monitoring her hard hitting reporting immediately following the Benghazi investigation.

Sharyl Attkisson is known to be a direct albeit brutally honest reporter, a real patriot for truth.   Twitter feed HERE

[Via Politico]  CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday.

Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network’s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air. (more…)
