CTH 2.0 UPDATE – Your Feedback To Find The Best Way Forward

The original post was an assembly of thoughts from the fantastic team helping to keep CTH level and steady.  It was accidentally published prior to my review.. /SD.

The Treehouse previously operated on the WordPress/Automattic platform without a lot of fanfare; a genuine labor of love. At first it was just a blogging platform, but as technology became more sophisticated, things got better for you, the loyal reader and the admin team.  Specifically, CTH was able to monetize the site with advertising, which allowed me to spend more time doing research, writing articles and managing the direct concerns of the readers.  Running ads was a checkbox, we turned it on and it just worked.

It’s safe to say that we were unaware of the amount of technical value, managing day to day technical issues, that blogging platforms like WordPress.com delivered. That all changed when CTH was deplatformed by Matt Mullenweg’s WordPress.com.

Fortunately, the software that operated the site was “open-source,” which means we had the option of moving the whole site to new servers without a lot of TECHNICAL issues.  It was was really the scale of content and the goal to preserve the decades-long  library (w/internal citations) that provided the greatest challenge.  However, keeping the machines running is a different game when every page view now comes at a cost.

Ground Reports At the Migrant Camp in Tijuana with Ben Bergquam

Ben Bergquam delivers live reports from the U.S-Mexico border showing exactly what is happening at the border as a result of President Joe Biden promising to allow any/all migrants into the United States.   This Tijuana ground report aligns with an earlier report from Axios about conditions at the border.

Axios – Fresh internal documents from the Department of Health and Human Services show how quickly the number of child migrants crossing the border is overwhelming the administration’s stretched resources.

Driving the news: In the week ending March 1, the Border Patrol referred to HHS custody an average of 321 children per day, according to documents obtained by Axios. That’s up from a weekly average of 203 in late January and early February — and just 47 per day during the first week of January (read more).

Ground Reports, Real Life Examples of Economic Impact from COVID

Friend of the TreeHouse John Spiropoulos provides some more examples of how COVID is hurting small businesses while local and state government seem oblivious to their plight. John notes these are real people, middle-America, not statistics, that are hit by policies and regulations that local officials dictate often by fiat.

As John shares: “This is another in our ongoing series of reports on the adverse impact of government China Virus restrictions on small business and their employees. This is the story of a Flagstaff, Arizona businessman that invested nearly his entire life savings in a business that was hit hard by restrictions imposed by the state government.”

.

“This next story features a Phoenix, Arizona business owner that began his business when he was laid off by his previous employer.  This features a start up air conditioning business in Phoenix. One of the owners was laid off at the beginning of the China Virus crisis, so he decided to team up with an associate and launch his own business. They’re making a go of it.”

Let’s Roll America – Ground Report on COVID Impact

Friend of the TreeHouse John Spiropoulos files a ground report to showcase some lesser contemplated impacts from the COVID-19 regulatory rules and restrictions.  As John shares:

“The larger story is the impact on their “customers” — young ballplayers. My report is about one small business involved in one sport in one state. The shutdowns have hurt every young player in every sport, tens of millions of them. Youth sports fulfill a vital role in a young person’s life, providing valuable life lessons. It matters not whether they make it to the “next level” or whether that’s even their desire.”

Let’s Roll America – Recovering From COVID Lockdowns, The Move to Freedom

As John Spiropoulos works his way back to California he stops to talk to middle-America about the impacts of the COVID lockdowns and how people are adjusting their family life to retain their values.  This short segment is the story of a family of five who were fed up with the lockdown in Oregon and so they picked up and moved to South Dakota.

…”There are more of us than them; they just control the systems that allow us to connect, share messages and recognize the scale of our assembly.”…

When we initially asked the question: “where would you choose to live“, we had no idea a virus would be purposeful to enhance the objectives of social engineering, isolation and ultimately, painfully, oppression.  Oblivious to the grand design, we allowed a seemingly disparate network of big tech companies to control communication.  The COVID aspect now generates in the physical world exactly the same distance created in the digital world.

John Spiropoulos “Let’s Roll America Reports” – Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Friend of the Treehouse John Spiropoulos attended the January 6th rally in Washington DC.   On the way back to California John is stopping to visit CTH readers and patriotic Americans who have been impacted by the COVID-19 lockdown economy.

In this first “Let’s Roll America” report John shares a success story from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he met up with a “roughneck” member of the Rebel Alliance who understands the scale, scope and issues we face as a nation; while personifying -and holding tight to- the ‘git r done’ spirit that flows through the veins of our great republic.

The next segment will feature a young family with three kids who moved from Oregon to South Dakota in search of work. Another Rebel Alliance team. From South Dakota John will be traveling to Albuquerque, NM, and Flagstaff, AZ, where he will have shoots tomorrow, then on to Phoenix Tuesday and Wednesday before turning for home.
