CLEVELAND – An exclusive 5 On Your Side investigation reveals millions of dollars worth of fresh fruits and vegetables are being thrown in the trash in school lunch rooms in Ohio and across the country.
The National School Nutrition Association blames new federal nutrition standards requiring students to take more fresh fruits and vegetables as well as increasing the amount of whole grains.
It’s operated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and spends nearly $12 billion dollars a year and insists more students are eating fresh fruits and vegetables and the program is aimed at making students healthier.
The USDA points to a recent study by the Harvard School of Public Health to support its claim, but the same study also shows that 60 percent of fresh vegetables and 40 percent of fresh fruit are being thrown away. (more…)
Rochester Michigan is located North of Detroit. I wonder who the school worried would be “offended”?
MICHIGAN – A U.S. Army officer from Rochester, Michigan, was denied entry into his daughter’s high school by four members of its security staff, told that his uniform might “offend” some students.

“Before he was allowed in, the security guard stopped him and said sorry you’re not allowed in the school. Security told him men and women in uniform weren’t allowed because it may offend another student,” Lt. Col. Sherwood Baker’s wife, Rachel, told a local Fox affiliate.
Col. Baker was was on his way to see his daughter’s counselor regarding her class schedule when the incident occurred.
“I can’t even believe they would think like that after all [soldiers] do for our country,” Jim Reynolds, a local resident, told the station. (read more)

The Peoples Cube has bravely identified Chicago District #214’s rebellion. The revolt is a danger to the collective, therefore the message must not reach surrounding districts. Be a good citizen – you have a duty. Good citizens support healthy compliance.

Apparently it was the banishment of Hummus, Hard-Boiled Eggs, and the brutally dangerous Freedom Yogurt which finally pushed the Chicago school district into open rebellion. District #214 is the second largest school district in state of Illinois.
CHICAGO (CBS) – The state’s second largest school district has started the school year with a new look for its lunch menu, after opting out of the National School Lunch Program and forfeiting nearly $1 million in federal funding, to gain more freedom in the food it serves students. (more)
(EAG NEWS) – CHICAGO – Hummus is too fatty, pretzels are too salty. Even hard-boiled eggs and yogurt don’t make the cut. Those restrictions and others imposed on schools through the revamped “healthier” National School Lunch Program convinced officials in Illinois’ second largest school district to forfeit nearly $1 million in federal lunch aid to serve students food they want to eat, rather than what the government tells them to, CBS reports. The evidence of the fraud, within the totally false construct of a crisis with “Unaccompanied Alien Minors”, continues to mount.
We began documenting three months ago the “border crisis” of unaccompanied alien children, UAC’s, was a pure ruse, a figment. Constructed simply to create the optics of crisis and support the demand for comprehensive immigration reform prior to the congressional recess.
Evidence continued to mount week after week as we followed the money flowing out of the DHS and HHS agencies to various left-wing social constructs who were profiting from the scheme. Panic and alarm sounded as $3.7 billion was demanded by Obama to cope with the non existent “border crisis” – couched more favorably as a “humanitarian crisis”.
Last week we shared how the Federal Government had given up on “housing for UAC’s”, because there were no UAC’s to house. We’ve previously proven the statistical manipulation by comparing DHS data to Immigration Court data.
Now here’s a report of what happens when these fully adult “UAC’s” register for school. The children with grey hair and wrinkles who admit to being 35-years-old and OLDER.

These middle school students will be collecting Social Security when they reach college
(MoonBattery) When the media wants to advance its agenda by deifying sociopathic thugs like Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin, it portrays them as children or “teens.” Lately the same approach has been used to quell resistance to the massive hordes of Third World welfare colonists who have been illegally pouring across the undefended border. The whole farce has been taken so far that some of the needy foreign children who will be flooding American schools this fall have gray hair: (more…)
Can you imagine the outrage if this was a kid in school, or worse, a conservative. Swat Teams would have surrounded the house – and conducted a no-knock raid.. It’s the ridiculous double standard that irks me.
California – On her Twitter feed, a Newark Memorial High School teacher described in explicit terms her desires for her students. She wanted to pour coffee on them. She wanted to stab them. Some of them, she said, “make my trigger finger itchy.”
Alerted by one of her colleagues to the tweets — which are laced with profanity and racist remarks — the district disciplined teacher Krista Hodges with a written reprimand, and she continues to teach.
Hodges has apologized, saying she meant none of it seriously. But some in the school community are stunned by the turn of events, given the alarming sentiments the teacher expressed. […]
In an interview with this newspaper, Hodges conceded she handled herself “unprofessionally.”
But, she said, “Everyone knows I’m one of the most liked teachers on campus. And that’s because I form meaningful and long-lasting relationships with my students.” (read more)
The Struggle For Stupidity
And Standard, State, Stupidity at that
What 8th-Graders Were Expected To Know in 1910
Only in a state where the official government position is to value the parasite more than the host, can you find this level of moonbattery logic.
(CNSNews.com) – Giving what was dubbed the “California Welcome,” Gov. Jerry Brown told attendees at the 31st Annual National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Conference in June that affluent families seemed to not be “producing” children in the state.
“I don’t know what the affluent families are doing,” Brown said. “They’re not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families.”
At the conference, held in San Diego, Calif., in late June, Brown said California had addressed the fact that millions of children in the state’s school do not speak English.
“You have to do more to be able to create that opportunity and that pathway for those families that are not having that same skill of speaking English as others,” Brown said.
“In California, out of six million students, two million are designated English-language learners, and that means extra money for that school, as well as for low-income families, and that’s about half the students in California,” Brown said.
“It’s pretty amazing,” Brown said. “I don’t know what the affluent families are doing.
“They’re not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families,” Brown said.
Brown also spoke about immigration and “brown power.”
“Yeah, there’s a border, but there’s something bigger,” Brown said.
“And that is the human family,” said Brown, adding that California works with other countries on issues ranging from trade to climate change. (read more)

A former senior advisor to Nancy Pelosi, now on the Civil Rights Commission, wants to restrict free speech on campus because college student brains are not completely formed…..
…. which begs the ultimate “D’oh” question:
So why allow them to vote ?
Wait,.. wha.. huh?…
(Via Daily Caller) A Democrat on the U.S. Civil Rights Commission has urged campus restrictions on First Amendment-protected speech because, he believes, the still-developing brains of college students cannot properly process certain dangerous ideas.

The civil rights commissioner is Michael Yaki, a former senior adviser to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
The Washington Post’s Eugene Volokh was present at a commission on a briefing on sexual harassment law in education last week when Yaki made his bizarro comments.
