Truth Tellers -vs- Truth Managers: POTUS Declassification Examples

Laying the groundwork for uncomfortable discussions is never easy. However, sometimes the best approach is to cite examples and then expand. Here’s two factual examples.

♦ EXAMPLE FACT #1 – In December 2017, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes asked the White House, specifically President Trump, to declassify the “Nunes Memo.” President Trump did not declassify the memo because President Trump was told by the concentric lawyers within the office that he should not. So, he didn’t.

[We eventually did see the memo, albeit with negotiated redactions, because Nunes (and Kash Patel) played by the Silo rules and entered a period of negotiations with the Intelligence Community. Nunes leveraged reauthorization of FISA-702 authority, predicated on declassifying his memo. We The People subsequently saw the memo, but we were screwed by the FISA reauthorization.]

♦ EXAMPLE FACT #2 – In January 2020, as he exited the White House, President Trump, using his office, played by the Silo rules and asked for the Russiagate documents to be made public. They never were.

This is such a great example of “Truth Management.”

Y’all are probably familiar with this declassification letter written by Mark Meadows. But what you didn’t see before is how it was designed to fail.

This approach is following the DC rules of the Intelligence Community (IC) Silos.

Senator Ron Johnson: “Exposing the Truth will be our Primary Weapon”

Senator Ron Johnson appears with a very excited Maria Bartiromo to discuss the possibility of Kash Patel taking the lead role in the FBI.

As Senator Johnson notes in the interview, bringing the truth forward to the American public is the greatest challenge. “The truth is a powerful weapon,” Johnson said. However, Johnson also notes “I’m not an optimist in this Maria, quite honestly, I wish I could say I was.”

Well said, Senator Johnson, well said. WATCH:

Matt Gaetz Says He Isn’t Coming Back to Congress

It looks like Matt Gaetz is done with DC politics. [Video Below]

During an interview today, Mr Gaetz has big praise for Pam Bondi and says he will remain outside government trying to assist President Donald Trump and the MAGA agenda.

WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said Friday that he doesn’t plan to rejoin Congress after he withdrew his name from consideration to be President-elect Donald Trump’s attorney general amid sexual misconduct allegations.

“I’m still going to be in the fight, but it’s going to be from a new perch. I do not intend to join the 119th Congress,” Gaetz said in an interview with conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

“There are a number of fantastic Floridians who stepped up to run for my seat, people who have inspired with their heroism, with their public service. And I’m actually excited to see Northwest Florida go to new heights and have great representation,” he added.

Gaetz, who was first elected to Florida’s state House when he was 28 years old, noted he has been in elected office for 14 years,

“I’m 42 now, and I’ve got other goals in life that I’m eager to pursue — my wife and my family — and so I’m going to be fighting for President Trump,” he said. “I’m going to be doing whatever he asks of me, as I always have. But I think that eight years is probably enough time in the United States Congress.”

President Trump Nominates Pam Bondi for U.S. Attorney General – The Deep Swamp Smiles

The nomination of former Florida AG Pam Bondi for the position of U.S. Attorney General is a big mistake; not for the corrupt background of Bondi that we presume President Trump is not aware of, but rather for the background of Pam Bondi the Deep Swamp is almost certainly aware of.

Within the background story of state AG corruption and unlawful activity, Pam Bondi is very easily leveraged, blackmailed and controlled.

I presume at this writing that President Donald Trump is completely unaware of what Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi did during her time in office.  The Florida Governor at the time was Rick Scott, who could most certainly corroborate much of the background, albeit now with layers and layers of serious political ramifications.

If you followed the story around the Trayvon Martin shooting and the subsequent arrest, jail and trial of George Zimmerman, you probably know the majority of what Florida AG Pam Bondi did.  However, it was almost 12-years-ago now.  So, for those who don’t remember here’s the story.

On the evening of February 26, 2012, in Sanford Florida, George Zimmerman fired one shot into the heart of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, fatally killing him.

The Sanford Police lead investigator into the shooting was Chris Serino; the Police Chief was Bill Lee, and the local prosecutor was Norm Wolfinger.

Detective Chris Serino questioned and investigated George Zimmerman, who used a traditional “self-defense” justification for the shooting.  Eventually the case went to trial and the same “self-defense” justification was used in court.  Despite what you might have heard in the media, it was never a “stand your ground” defense.  It simply was not needed.

In addition to questioning Zimmerman, Serino documented two eye-witnesses to the shooting.  One woman in an apartment who saw the initial encounter between Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman, and another eye-witness, a man in an adjacent apartment who saw and partially recorded, the entire confrontation as it unfolded on the pathway approximately 20 feet from him.

The second witness called 911 and described in real time what he was seeing.  Trayvon was straddling George in an “MMA style” position and slamming Zimmerman’s head into the sidewalk.  During the 911 recording you can hear Zimmerman calling out, “help me; somebody help me.” [NOTE: Both of those witnesses as well as the recording were later buried but came out at trial.]

After a thorough investigation, all of the statements by George Zimmerman were corroborated by the eye-witnesses, the forensic evidence, the audio recording, and all the physical evidence found at the scene.  Detective Chris Serino gave his investigative report to Police Chief Lee along with the recommendation that Zimmerman’s claim of self-defense was valid and justified.  Serino and Lee then consulted with prosecutor Norm Wolfinger who reviewed the evidence and agreed.

New York Times Claims “Hacker” Has Accessed Legal Files on Matt Gaetz

Oh, it’s those infamous “hackers” again, only this time they are not Iranian or Chinese, this time it is a mysterious “hacker” under the presumably fictitious name Altam Beezly, who has intruded into the files of a civil lawsuit filed by lawyers representing a Florida businessman tangentially tied to accusations against Attorney General nominee, Matt Gaetz.

As the story is told, “according to a person with knowledge of the activity,” there is transcript testimony from a woman who claims to have had sex with Matt Gaetz when she was 17-years-old.  The DOJ previously looked into the accusations and never went further.

New York Times – […] The file of 24 exhibits is said to include sworn testimony by a woman who said that she had sex with Mr. Gaetz in 2017 when she was 17, as well as corroborating testimony by a second woman who said that she witnessed the encounter.

The information was downloaded by a person using the name Altam Beezley at 1:23 p.m. on Monday, according to the person, who was not authorized to speak publicly. A lawyer connected to the case sent an email to the address associated with Altam Beezley, only to be informed in an automated reply that the recipient does not exist.

The material does not appear to have been made public by the hacker. (read more)

Which begs the question, if the material has not been made public then how does the New York Times have any awareness of it?

Senator Bill Hagerty Outlines Case for Matt Gaetz Confirmation and Leaves Andrea Mitchell Speechless

MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell just didn’t know what to do with Republican Senator from Tennessee Bill Hagerty, after he outlined all the motives and justifications for President Trump to appoint Matt Gaetz for U.S. Attorney General.

Senator Hagerty cites examples of the Main Justice targeting of President Trump from the 2016 campaign all the way through the IC manipulation of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020, to the continued use of Lawfare to target President Trump throughout 2024.  Of course, that background makes the appointment of Matt Gaetz understandable.  WATCH:

Accordingly, President Trump has provided a bold litmus test for Republicans in the Senate, they are either with the American people or they stand in the sunlight of a transparent and intentional disconnect. (more…)

A very strategic plan for Main Justice transition delivered today by President Trump.  President Trump has announced Deputy AG Todd Blanche to be #2 in charge behind Matt Gaetz, and Emil Bove to serve as interim Acting DAG in case the Senate drag their feet on confirmations.  This makes a very quick transition period in Main Justice with President Trump officials immediately taking charge.

President Trump Announces Nomination of John Ratcliffe to CIA Director

President Trump announces via Truth Social, his intent to nominate former ODNI official John Ratcliffe to the position of Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

[Source]

Former DNI Ratcliffe passed through the Senate Intel Committee nomination process in 2019 after being blocked by Mitch McConnell in 2018.  With a prior SSCI confirmation being successful, the path to confirming John Ratcliffe as CIA Director is essentially a foregone conclusion.

As CIA Director, John Ratcliffe will control the world’s second-most powerful intelligence agency. Ratcliffe has almost no attack vectors for the internal IC apparatus to use against him, that’s why I previously thought a role in the Trump-2 intel system would be good.

Ratcliffe was/is the lead transition team member on all things related to Intelligence.  Prior rumor put him in the NatSec Advisor role, but CIA Director is a good fit.  John Ratcliffe is very stable, vanilla, no drama and can be expected to deliver on the priorities of the Trump administration.  He will work very well with the White House.

The concern would be Ratcliffe’s ability to remove the corrupt players within the darkest part of the darkest IC system.

President Trump Asks for Confirmation Support from Senate Leadership

Recess appointments have been a general source of contention for those of us in the deep weeds who did not like Republican Leader Mitch McConnell keeping the upper chamber for four straight years 2018 through 2020, when the Republicans eventually lost their majority.

Now that the Senate has flipped back into Republican control, President Trump is proactively looking to confront the “recess appointment” issue withing the current Republican leadership contest. [Truth Social]

A recess appointment is an appointment, by the President of the United States, of a senior federal official to fill a vacant position while the United States Senate is in recess.

Recess appointments are authorized by Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, which states: “The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.”
