A Cautionary Tale: Britain Faces Massive Blackouts Due To Green Politics

I’ve been reading articles for years now about energy initiatives in Great Britain, in a politically-motivated effort to force green energy on the citizens of the British Isles.

Guest Post by Michelle Hart – Gun Ban, Part 2

titleHistory is replete with the failures of man, it highlights his cruelty, his desires, and often reveals his true nature no matter what social or moral standards have been established.
In 1895 the English author H. G. Wells laid out the exact template for how The United States would be overtaken by a brutal enemy that is completely malicious and incapable of mercy. Decades later in 1938 the Columbia Broadcasting System radio network, directed and narrated by actor and filmmaker Orson Welles, put that sordid template into action.
While I don’t know if H. G. or Orson were communists, nor do I care, the template and plan of attack is the focus not their personal philosophies. With only the spoken and written word both convinced a nation that is was being overtaken by a foreign invader that sought their complete subjugation. The same holds true today, but it’s done in soundbites, and digital form with far greater speed and reach.

Mailboxes and Old Barns: "Treasures of Age" by Stella

My mother, Jessie, was born in 1906 on a farm in the Michigan Thumb.  She was the seventh of eight children, one of five girls.  In those days there was no running water in the house, no electricity, and no central heating.  HurdFarmTheir dad was a good farmer, the land was rich, and everyone had their jobs to do.  Farming was done with horses, except when the traveling steam harvester would come by in the fall, and everyone would come together to get the harvest in.

Defending The American Dream

This video is a speech made at the Defending The American Dream Summit in Orlando, Fl, last August.  It’s a good message, and even if you’ve already seen this one, I would like to hear your opinions about the message.  Enjoy!

HHS Director Quits Job, Writes Letter That Exposes HHS As An Inefficient Mess

David Wright, director of the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) in the Department Of Health And Human Services, just quit his job in a big way. Wright wrote an insanely blunt resignation letter that was recently published by ScienceInsider. In it, he exposed the dysfunctional bureaucratic red tape that limited him from doing his job more than half of the time.
dysfunctionjunctionMr. Wright exposes the dysfunction of HHS, the government department that administers Obamacare.  It seems that Mr. Wright will continue to expose the dysfunctional nature of HHS, by publishing his logs as the ORI Director.  His frustration, in his own words:

The Last Refuge Celebrates – 20,000,000 Visitors!

Treehouse Hits The 20,000,000 Mark!

tree-houseThe Last Refuge – officially, The Conservative Treehouse – celebrated its third anniversary on February 1, 2014.  Now it’s time for another celebration (and we love celebrations) as we welcome our 20,000,000th visitor!

The Tree has been approached over twenty million times, tapped for information, moved into for refuge and signed up for learning.
Twenty million times someone has said, “Self, let’s check out the Treehouse and see what’s up.”
Twenty million times someone perhaps said, “I saw that link—wonder what they’re up to….”  (more…)

The Unmarked, Matte-Gray Crown Vic

Why are the authorities becoming more militarized and treating Americans like the enemy? Bill Whittle shares his thoughts.

The Narrative: The Origins of Political Correctness

As you all probably know by now, I am an unabashed Bill Whittle groupie.  I ran across this video while hunting for something else.  Can anyone say serendipity?

This is powerful and informative.  It’s not new, but it was new to me, and I highly recommend it!

The Last Great Race On Earth

In a little less than 11 days, on March 1, the Iditarod race will begin.  The Iditarod is an exciting dog-sled race from Anchorage to Nome – a total distance of 975 miles.  It is exciting even in our modern, perhaps jaded, view, but the story behind this race is historic.

route_northern1Alaska in winter can be a treacherous place.  The modern race is as safe as it can be made, with regular checkpoints, where supplies have been pre-placed, and mushers and their dogs can rest along the way.

The original “Iditarod” was another matter, indeed.
