The western market ‘justification’ per se’ was the Iran war and the oil disruption from the Strait of Hormuz, but that’s not what drove up the price. The timing of the drop tells you the story that many deniers maintained for the past several months.
Additionally, we can now watch as Zelenskyy stops targeting Russian oil refineries, again removing one of the justifications that was being used by the “market speculators” who were intentionally driving up the price. Zelenskyy will justify the sudden shift in drone targeting by using the ever-present, and always Machiavellian, magnanimous explanation.
As the Ukraine and Russian teams meet with U.S. intermediaries in Abu Dhabi next week, Volodymyr Zelensky will claim his instruction to stop targeting oil refineries shows his commitment to a ceasefire and peace talks. However, if you have watched events closely and tracked the narrative and the assembly behind it, you will see the truth and timing behind events.
There is no longer a need to target refineries because the energy market speculators are going to dial back the upward pressure and allow prices to drop. Vladimir Putin was correct when he said, “How, in fact, is the price of gas formed on the European exchanges? It is not determined by producers, but by exchange traders.” {Go Deep}
People are only now just beginning to realize what folks like you and me have been outlining for months, this energy crisis was a justification for upward price pressure. There is no ‘free market’ factor in this system. The output never changed but the prices skyrocketed; the ‘speculators’ made billions from the manipulation, the energy companies banked the profits and the geopolitical stakeholders benefited from the political consequences.
Accepting this reality is why we were able to predict the exact moment when fuel prices would begin a precipitous drop.
The reality is that ‘western market prices’ are not an outcome of supply, demand or even availability or production capacity. Western market prices are determined by speculators, traders and regional benchmarks created by “independent agencies.”
Remember those pesky housing loan bond rating agencies, Standard and Poor’s and/or Moody’s during the lead-in to the 2008 financial crisis. That type of rating ‘independence’ is akin to the benchmarks of these regional independent agencies within the energy markets; which is to say, they are not independent at all – they are part of the manipulated western financial system that determines ‘market pricing’.
Behind that curtain are the traders, speculators, ideological banks and financial systems who create the finance system for the energy market. Want to stop oil exploitation, change the lending requirements to favor windmills and solar panels etc. Not coincidentally changing these lending rules and regulations was Mark Carney’s former job. Does that sound like an open market approach?
Thus, when you really understand how this pricing is structured you begin to realize the price of diesel has nothing to do with the supply of it and the price is more controlled by those who wish to generate financial -or political- outcomes from it. (read more)

The sick and twisted part of what is coming. The part that is going to gnaw at your gut (and Trump’s), is that simply due to timing leftists and Democrats will now take credit for the stunning economic growth that President Trump has seeded for the past several years.

While it is correct to say the White House overall messaging on this was not effective, perhaps even terrible, the underlying truth of the economic situation is very positive. The frustrating part is the predictability of Democrats to exploit the results that are certain to continue into 2027, while the price of gasoline drops – by design.

To be able to override a veto, the Dems will need significant participation by Republicans. That also requires give and take. And Republican participation will improve the chances of President Trump signing any bill.

I could use a little help understanding how the speculators made a killing while we sacrificed with paying higher gas prices. I don’t know how those dots connect. Futures markets are a speculator’s gamble on what they believe the eventual price of the actual product will be, or what speculators down the line feel it will be and be willing to purchase the futures contract for. Eventually the contract comes due and the last one holding the contract *has* to sell the product for the amount the market will actually bear, and for his own good he better not have guessed too high. It’s a game of hot potato.
Now, the gasoline we have been filling up with has some of that actual product (oil) in it. Contracts obviously came due; oil was truly sold.
So, how did the manipulated speculative price become the “real” price? Once the product was actually sold (which was not burdened with the “Hormuz” excuse the speculators used) why wasn’t it sold for the lower price based on market reality while leaving the last futures contract holders with the hot potato?

But I’ll be honest: I’m angry: to Americans who are fickle and appear to have forgotten the Biden years after less than two years of Trump 2.0 and handed the keys back to the Biden crew, now 100X worse; and even a little angry at God. But then I think: God cares more about our hearts than our election results, more about helping us reach our home with Him in eternity than winning majorities in House/Senate. And if He ever gave us what we truly deserved? I shutter at the thought.
I pray that He allowed what to happen for the same reason he allowed 4 years of Biden to happen: to shake us awake. Hindsight being 20/20, those four years opened the eyes of many. But I really don’t know if we’ll ever get another shot at righting this ship of state in 2028 (Presidency and House) and Senate (2032 at the earliest). At some point, does He not just hand us over to our follies and false gods/idols, as He did throughout history?
I don’t know, but I know I’m praying for his mercy and praying for insight for what He wants MY PURPOSE to be going forward in these uncharted waters–do I run for school board? city council? Where should I volunteer to make my world a better place? Where do I need to lay down false gods/idols in my life? (And I’m praying He throws A LOT of wrenches into the evildoers’ schemes too 😉

I understand the numbers and I agree with everything you’ve said, but let me explain.
If a young (White) male cannot get a decent job, afford a place to live, afford a $20 burrito, or find a non-whore girlfriend, then their real economy is abysmal. If they have to watch Indians displace them economically and socially, and hispanics everywhere, then they don’t believe in the economy – to them the numbers are just lies that they reject, no matter how good they appear on the screen.

But a young man who can’t find a decent job that pays enough, is repulsed by the economic numbers when he sees another $40B to the middle east… you can try to explain the nuances, but you can’t get him a job or a girlfriend.

so true! The government does not owe anyone a job or a girlfriend. Government is only supposed to make the conditions exist to pursue these things yourself (as optimal as government can within limits) and then protect the law-and-order citizenry from those who would lie, steal, cheat, kills.
Many young people (and too many older adults who should know better by now), want the house at age 21, the corner office and company car and expense account by age 25–especially if they grew up in a home where mom and/or dad had these things. It does back to being woefully and intentionally ignorant about our history, our founding documents, civics, etc.

Awhile back I began to question the reported record low number of cattle in the US. The numbers may or may not be correct, but when you look at the pounds of meat sold per year, suddenly a lot of questions pop up.
Without getting into all of that, the cattle futures fell out the bottom today.
I do remember 2008. I do remember Moody’s, Standard and Poor’s,,banks, subprime loans, mortgage backed securities, and collateral debt obligations. What you failed to mention and/or understand is the root cause of that mess. The Democrats forced banks to loan money to people for homes they should not have been able to finance or buy. The icing on that cake was no or low money down. Based on The Minnesota Democrat theft, it would make sense that all those subprime loans were originated by democrats.
If the speculators and oil companies colluded to raise the price of gas and diesel, haul them all in to court. To say that disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz will not affecr oil prices is nonsense.
The problems are these: (a) Trump didn’t help his own cause by adding to the conflict in the volatile Middle East, and (b) almost no one really understands economics.
Matt Walsh is right: better a nuclear Iran than a communist America. We needed to ensure against the latter, even if it might bring about the former.

This is spot on and why a lot of Christian voters refuse to vote. I’m pretty frustrated and thinking of cutting off all internet. Already do not participate in “social” media. President Trump should start his weekly fireside chats to educate the low info voters over the next two years as to why oil and gas prices fluctuate as they do as well as his plans to improve affordability.
The GasBuddy chart also does show the huge impact the military action/war against Iran had. As Vance and others have said, it is up to the reader to decide if a higher risk of a nuclear Iran was more important than $1 or $1.50 higher gas prices for a period of time.
Regardless, many in the USA put higher value on lower gas prices, and voted that way.
I’m gonna say what I shouldn’t but…
I know that the Obama dealings helped them along, but do we have concrete evidence/intelligence that Iran undeniably *was* on the brink of having a nuke? For that matter, do we also have concrete certainty that if they were on the brink, that the war effort has put an end to it?
This is conspiracy type thinking I guess, but what I’m getting at is, is it possible Trump was intentionally fed bad information on the Iran nuke threat which pushed him into bombing them to leave us in the state we are now?
