One way to get this to happen is for PDJT to offer them a choice, either the EU disbands NATO and incorporates the organization into a EU defense force, or America withdraws from NATO. Once they have their own defense, America will sign a cooperation treaty for defense that doesn’t require the US to adhere to the same rules as Malta.
This is an offer that can help the EU survive, versus them suffering the embarrassment and instability of America withdrawing from NATO and removing much of our military and it’s economic connections. I don’t think they will make the right decision.
Either way, we should turn our heads away from Europe and spend the next 50 years focusing on our hemisphere. Europe can have Africa, we’ll take South America.
