Both President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have provided updates on the current status of negotiations with the Iranian regime.
President Trump delivered an update from his Truth Social Account:
PRESIDENT TRUMP – “Negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are proceeding nicely! It will only be a Great Deal for all or, no Deal at all — Back to the Battlefront and shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever before — And nobody wants that!
During my discussions on Saturday with President Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, of The United Arab Emirates, Emir Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, and Minister Ali al-Thawadi, of Qatar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah, of Pakistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, of Türkiye, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, of Egypt, King Abdullah II, of Jordan, and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, of Bahrain, I stated that, after all the work done by the United States to try and pull this very complex puzzle together, it should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords.
Those Countries discussed are Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates (already a Member!), Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain (already a Member!). It may be possible that one or two have a reason for not doing so, and that will be accepted, but most should be ready, willing, and able to make this Settlement with Iran a far more Historic Event than it would, otherwise, be.
The Abraham Accords have proven to be, for the Countries involved (The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and Kazakhstan), a Financial, Economic, and Social BOOM, even during this time of Conflict and War, with the current Members never even suggesting leaving, or taking so much as even a pause.
The reason for this is that the Abraham Accords have been great for them, and will be even better for everybody, and bring true Power, Strength, and Peace to the Middle East for the first time in 5,000 years. It will be a Document respected like no other that has ever been signed, anywhere in the World. Its level of Importance and Prestige will be unparalleled! It should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit. If they don’t, they should not be part of this Deal in that it shows bad intention.”
“In speaking to numerous of the Great Leaders mentioned above, they would be honored, as soon as our Document is signed, to have the Islamic Republic of Iran as part of the Abraham Accords. Wow, now that would be something special! This will be the most important Deal that any of these Great, but always in Conflict Countries, will ever sign. Nothing in the past, or in the future, will surpass it.
Therefore, I am mandatorily requesting that all Countries immediately sign the Abraham Accords, and that, if Iran signs its Agreement with me, as President of the United States of America, it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition. The Middle East would be United, Powerful, and Economically Strong, like perhaps no other area, anywhere in the World!
By copy of this TRUTH, I am asking my Representatives to begin, and successfully complete, the process of signing these Countries into the already Historic Abraham Accords. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
DONALD J. TRUMP
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke of the current status during his trip to India, shortly before his visit to the Taj Mahal. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed reporters in New Delhi before departing for Agra, discussing Iran nuclear negotiations, Hezbollah tensions, India-U.S. relations, Pakistan concerns, and President Donald Trump’s stance on diplomacy. Rubio stressed that Washington will “give diplomacy every chance to succeed” while warning against a nuclear Iran and reaffirming strong ties with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Blessed are the Peacemakers….
A country that has referred to the United States as “the great satan” for years on end, and has many proxy groups that push for the destruction of one of our allies in their Charter, is NOT a Peacemaker, nor do they want to be.
99.9% sure Decimus Magnus was referring to Trump
They aren’t talking nice because they’ve changed their tone, but because they have much to lose otherwise.
The mullas, not the Persian people, did what you described.
👏
Thanks a lot! Now I want a sandwich and they’re closed today.
The intense involvement with all of the countries around Iran in cutting this deal was always sending a message that Trump wanted to leverage the involvement into something more — and there it is: getting a bunch of them to sign on to the Abtaham Acvords!
So not only will Trump get Iran out of the nuclear business…he’s looking to get most of Israel’s Arab and Muslim neighbors to “normalize” diplomatic relations with Israel!
Huge if it occurs.
It seems that if he cannot get a new regime in Iran, then he will at least surround them with as many others as possible who want peace in the region and are united in refusing to put up with their nonsense anymore.
I know it’s a massively overused term, but…..
MIC drop
Talk about rearranging the map and the world order. Wow!
Europe who?
Eric is probably already negotiating terms for all the Trump hotels and resorts in each country. : )
I believe there are some already in the works there.
“No dust, no dollars”.
DJT
Thank you Lord for sending us President Trump!
Someone is funding the IRGC. No oil exports where is the money coming from.
The City of London?
Maybe China, Pakistan?
What money?
You have verified info that the IRGC is getting money?
Maybe they kill for free.
Of course they do 🙂 They are 9th century religious fanatics!
There is some rail traffic in and out of Iran. But not much oil.
They have “secret routes” supposedly, through which they can still export some oil. Trump has allowed Chinese bound shipments of oil to pass. They can sell drones to Russia. Even Persian rugs still bring in $40-60 million per year with existing sanctions. There are other transit points besides the ports in Hormuz… over land, so theoretically they can still sell things even though their economy is hurting.
Most people have only one middle name.
G.O.A.T. President Trump has two: “Think Big”
Donald “Think Big” Trump
He is one of the best operations guys I have ever seen.
He accepts and successfully completes projects that most senior executives wouldn’t touch with a 10′ pole.
I am proud to be part of President Trump’s MAGA / America First movement.
He makes us proud is an understatement.
MAGA / America First isn’t just our motto, it is our duty!
He’s fearless, his courage, devotion and love of our precious country inspires us daily. He’s unstoppable with God.
Thank God for saving him.
💥✝️🇺🇸🦅🙏❤️
I would have gone a different route.
And yet you won’t even HINT at what they would be….or why 🙂
Turkmenistan?
I’ve said this for months. The natural, regional and philosophical allies of Iran is Israel, a kinship that will be boosted by the latter’s role in freeing the former (the IRGC’s lifespan can be measured in months/weeks if the deal goes ahead)
This is what terrifies the globalists, the Lion of Persia and the Lion of Judah more united than divided, so have activated their anti-Semitic mouthpieces, and media has-beens, to help target the MAGA links with The President. A fact seemingly acknowledged when The President recently ruled out any domestic considerations when negotiating a deal.
The peace process creates something greater. The process becomes the purpose.
“Therefore, I am mandatorily requesting that all Countries immediately sign the Abraham Accords, and that, if Iran signs its Agreement with me, as President of the United States of America, it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition. “
What is mandatorily requesting ? Mandatory is ordering, or at least demanding, and requesting is simply asking. It is a flat contradiction in terms if there ever was one.
And an honor to have Iran be part of an unparalleled World Coalition ? With the current regime still in power? What planet am I on?
mandatorily
adverb
In a mandatory manner. Not optionally; required.
In a manner that cannot be evaded.
I think you know the answer. But I’ll play anyway.
He is requesting that all named nations join. Doing so is mandatory for the peace process to progress. It’s not that hard.
It is simple English, as linguistically, the phrase “mandatorily requesting” is oxymoronic because “request” means choice while “mandatory” means no choice.
You are using the wrong dictionary. Try Trumpionary volume 47 and you will soon discover words like Bigly and Cofefe.
Seems like you are here just to pick at PDJT. I actually love the phrase and understand and appreciate the space he gives people to make good choices while maintaining dignity. He is a very persuasive man, but likes to make his victim leave the room feeling respected. It leaves the relationship open to further positive dialogue.
I think the world is going to be shocked at how this all turns out.
You obviously STILL don’t get how Trump negotiates. Bombast. Hyperbole. Grand gestures. Outrageous demands that open up room for compromises. Face-saving exit ramps.
He clearly stated that there are reasons some might not sign the Accords. He knows he won’t get 100% participation. Then he says “mandatorily requesting” to emphasize his strong desire to have other nations sign-on, but still trying to be polite and diplomatic about it. He is, after all, making this request to KINGS over there. Is it so hard to figure out that he’s threading a needle? Maybe you should stick to watching the View instead.
Planet TDS.
Patience, Persistence, Perseverance, and PRAYERS!
Any agreement we sign should state clearly that if you chant “death to America”, we have the right to kill you.
seems reasonable
Did we suddenly forget Qatar being the financier for the MB? And what are we to make of their sudden offer to send the IRGC $12B of “humanitarian aid”?
Appears from its absence on the call list that Pres. Trump has chosen not to take another run at persuading Oman to commit to the Abraham Accords.
With Oman presently in league with Iran to control the Straight of Hermuz, it would be interesting to know the administration’s strategy on that alliance:
Pressure Oman to break the link in order to increase leverage on Iran to free up the SoH?
Focus on the SoH feature in the demands on Iran, expecting Oman to yield following Iran’s capitulation?
Some combination?
Qatar has now offered to ‘loan’ Iran (the IRGC) $12 billion for ‘humanitarian aid’, which is the same amount of Iranian assets that the US has frozen. While I’m all in favor of negotiations, deals and agreements, etc, I do not believe that it will ever be possible to make any kind of satisfactory peace deal with the IRGC, primarily because they are not a united entity. There are too many factions that disagree with each other. And now the situation changes somewhat…..the IRGC brought in mercenaries from Iraq in particular, to join their forces against the Iranian civilians. Now the IRGC and those Iraqi mercenaries are clashing in the streets with each other. IMHO, it’s really time to dismantle the IRGC and let the Iranian people have their country back.
You can’t convince me that President Trump has not brought arms to the Iranian people to use in a rebellion.
It wouldn’t take too many to make IRGC and the morality police think twice about persecutions knowing that there might be civilian snipers watching them as they harass normal citizens as they try to live their lives.
I understand the difference between the big picture and the small picture. The big picture is a peaceful Middle East, the small picture is the ending of Iran’s terror games. Iran has produced about two generations since their ’79 revolution. Hate has been embedded into the minds of millions of Iranians toward Israel and the United States. Their military personnel have families and relatives that support such hatreds, offering energies that go into daily lives supporting anything and everything that works toward achieving those goals hate has created.
How does one kill such hate? Do you contain it? Or do you try to wipe it out? One depends on a slow death, the other a quick death. Is there a middle plan one could attempt? If one equates this Iranian hatred with a cancer, what will the observer have to say? What will the person who has the cancer say? Some can learn to live with a cancer. No one lives forever-that’s just a simple fact. Cancer will kill you if it can! Hate is supposed to be neutralized by love, right? Histories are replete with such stories and attempts. If cancer doesn’t get you something most certainly will…another fact of life.
Years ago I was asked to help in the restoration of the extra nuclear bomb casings for Fat Boy and Little Man at the Kirkland Museum. I thought about the tens of thousands who were killed by these bombs. Visited the Trinity site and looked at the glass laying all over the ground created by that tested weapon with my son.
Today is Memorial Day. Just finished watching American Sniper–yet stopped before Chief Kyle was killed by Routh. Not sure why I chose to watch this movie, yet know just how lucky I was 60 years ago in a far away place.
For 47 years Iran has maimed and killed numerous Americans and Israelis. We’ve killed a bunch of them too. I want this to end. I am not alone. I can only hope President Trump has a game plan to bring about real peace. I can only hope after this ends, those Iranians left will turn away from their hatreds and move toward love as I also hope those other Middle Eastern nations do regarding Israel. It will take time, probably years.
If Iran’s leaders continue to play games, I will be on the side of those Americans who will demand “all hell breaking loose” on their country so that the only thing on the Iranians’ mind is to survive and live a new life without such hatreds. It is never fun at my local Veteran’s Hospital to see the price my brothers and sisters have paid to be free, never!
Very well written. I am onboard with your thoughts on the Iranian dilemma.
Now THAT is redistricting. 😎
The Iranians appear to believe the President is smoking something really good. At least if one reads reporting on Reuters, BBC, etc., the Iranians have no intention of concluding a deal. The ceasefire as merely allowed the Iranians to regroup and rearm. It will be harder for us the next time. We should have kept up what Trump started.
It will not be harder.
What navy do they have? Did they float all those sunken ships back to the surface?
Did they rebuild all those runways and already buy new fighter jets? That’s a neat trick. Built new ones in just a few weeks!
And trained new leaders with years of experience in the same few weeks.
Maybe we should just surrender now.
🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Seismic.
Iran can never be trusted until it is no longer the “Islamic Republic.” Without a complete end to the IRGC and its enforcers, the Iranian people will still suffer, and nothing their government says or signs can be trusted.
I’m guessing we are figuring out a way to get small arms into the hands of citizens.
Let them do their own dirty work and earn the right to reclaim their Persian nation.
Color me disappointed
I’m far, far less enthusiastic about grand, grand gestures like asking Iran to support grand, grand principles like the grand, grand Abraham Accords …
… than I am about a comprehensive Phase II of the recent kinetic attacks
… to include A-10 strafing runs on all small-boat marinas and boat yards to obliterate all the Boston-Whalers and other brands of so-called “fast boats”
… so we can stop hearing about that pesky nuisance
… and … a bunker-busting bombing campaign to blow up all remaining missiles and missile launchers Iran has moved into underground tunnels … America’s strategic teams likely have had time to identify and map all such tunnels into a comprehensive targeting list by now
… to ELIMINATE Iran’s ability to make war at ALL levels — from nuclear all the way down to shoulder-fired missiles and grenade launchers
There used to be a phrase: “Bomb them back to the Stone Age”
Instead, PresTrump seems to be enamored with burnishing his reputation as the consummate dealmaker … as if he’s negotiating with US corporate CEOs rather than the demonic Islamic extremists that they are … who will discard any agreement they agreed to in an instant if it furthers their goals
I ask: What part of “Death to America” is being misunderstood or failing to be grasped by PresTrump’s “negotiators”?
hey, I woke up grouchy today, I better start that 2nd pot of coffee
