India is now facing a 50% import tariff against the majority of their goods (electronics and pharmaceuticals exempted). However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed not to yield to the pressure. Modi said the world was witnessing a “politics of economic selfishness.”
For approximately a decade many western countries including the U.S. have heaped effusive praise on India as corporations viewed the massive Indian population, the world’s largest democracy, as both workers and consumers. However, after the western sanctions against Russia were delivered, India -a BRICS nation- began pulling back from western alignment and influence.
Western sanctions map against Russia (yellow = agree with USA).
What we are witnessing now is one of the ramifications of the U.S. forcefully putting an “us or them” aspect into the strategic economic relationship, where “them” is Russia. Currently, India is not flinching.
One could make the argument that undeveloped regions in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) contain the majority of the valuable rare earth minerals and magnets the ‘western’ nations need for manufacturing. BRICS has a pressure point to apply leverage, but no global trade currency, if the trade conflict escalates.
INDIA – Steep U.S. tariffs on a range of Indian products took effect Wednesday, threatening a serious blow to India’s overseas trade in its largest export market.
President Donald Trump had initially announced a 25% tariff on Indian goods. But earlier this month he signed an executive order imposing an additional 25% tariff due to India’s purchases of Russian oil, bringing the combined tariffs imposed by the U.S. on its ally to 50%.
The Indian government estimates the tariffs will impact $48.2 billion worth of exports. Officials have warned the new duties could make shipments to the U.S. commercially unviable, triggering job losses and slower economic growth.
India–U.S. trade relations have expanded in recent years but remain vulnerable to disputes over market access and domestic political pressures. India is one of the fastest-growing major global economies and it may face a slowdown as a result.
Estimates by New Delhi-based think tank Global Trade Research Initiative suggest labor-intensive sectors such as textiles, gems and jewelry, leather goods, food and automobiles will be hit hardest.
“The new tariff regime is a strategic shock that threatens to wipe out India’s long-established presence in the U.S., causing unemployment in export-driven hubs and weakening its role in the industrial value chain,” said Ajay Srivastava, the think tank’s founder and a former Indian trade official. (read more)
Keep in mind, India is a very poor albeit populated country with the average person living substantially below the poverty line. That sounds like bad news for India until you realize if they lose export trade to the USA, the majority of Indians will not notice the difference in their life.
Politically President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi always appeared to have a very good relationship. However, on the issue of sanctions against Russia, President Trump is stepping into the middle of the BRICS relationship.
Modi feels strong due to a decade of effusive praise from all countries. Trump feels strong due to current effusive praise from all countries. Two hippos are facing each other.
There are multiple dynamics at play including President Trump’s Indo-Pacific strategy, a counterbalance to the influence of China, which is dependent on India. Prime Minister Modi appears to be calling President Trump’s bluff.

American treatment of other nations and cultures has, for decades, been overbearing, ignorant, cruel and generally immoral. The Rest of the World is right to stand up against her. What I’m hoping is that Trump can reorient the States to being a regional hemispheric power instead of a global one based on criminal credit cartels. But it seems he’s not yet fully in charge or he doesn’t have that sort of vision and by America being Great Again he means domineering all others, which is the neocon supremacy doctrine. He gives signs regularly that he can go either way so it’s hard to tell. If he comes down on the supremacy side, then soon Russia, India, Iran and China will harden their stance and build an alternative world civilization without the US being able to dominate them. And so they should.
Go away
America is first
Ashley had a good well, thought out opinion. Why should she go away?
Because she’s been indoctrinated by liberal professors that couldn’t properly wipe their rear ends to save their lives.
Not really. This has nothing to do with recipricol tarrifs. Most here are aware of the deep state crimes in Ukraine. Frim a rational Russian perspective, ( bith historical and conteporary realties) they were forced to war with Ukraine. The US use of the dollar as a weapon is real. The sanctions are a massive failure and force independence. India is a needed counter weight to China. All of the above is NOT taught by liberal professores. I think Trump is wrong here.
Should you not check your comments PRIOR to posting?
Yes, yet sometimes very busy. Besides “it is a man with a poor imagination that can only think of one way to spell a word”
write you are
President Trump is trying to end the r/uke war. No $, no war.
Yes. I think he is. Then dont send weapons at all is an option with good and maybe not so good potential results.

Oh boy! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤷♀️🥴😬🥴
Xi, Putin and Modi….plus 20 other countries.
🤔🤔Wonder if Sanctions…err..additional tariffs if

Also, Trump cosying up to the Pakistanis and equating them with India in a terrorist incited border skirmish will never play well in Indian politics. They are not equal in any sense of the word. The terrorists went from Pakistan occupied Kashmir, cornered the tourists, and asked their religion to kill all the Hindus while leaving the Muslims alone. That’s not equal. That’s terrorism and should be universally condemned. There are no relativisms there.
We seem to have F’up lot’s of places where we had no business interfering like…
A: Suez Canal
B: Vietnam
C: Grenada
D: Serbia
E: Iraq 2001
F: Afghanistan

Ashley is correct as to what the people think
I think Yosemite Sam works for a foreign intelligence agency. He’s relatively new.
These nations were already messed up in more ways than one.
Democrats are destroying the USA.
Trump is trying to make everyone play fair.
The USA is not responsible for the poverty of India or Mexico or the violence of Islamic nations.
Modi is taking India down a darker path.
“A darker path?”, how so? Do tell.
We needed to mind our business even more then!
Oh- I’d add Libya & Egypt to that list during so-called ‘Arab Spring’. Maybe Tunisia.
Thanks Hillary & Obama.
Granada? Cuba left troops there they couldn’t supply or protect.
Right, sounds like Obama’s apology tour to me.
So…..what do you think about what has been
happening the last 2 weeks?
The extra tariff is the brain…er…cramp…of
Ms. Lindsey Graham, neocons, Euroweenies…
and even Zelensky.
Do any of the above want to stop conflict?
🤔🤔 I would say….No.
The blathering from Ms Graham was “bone crushing “

He and others are total maroons.🤪😜
President Trump put the tariff at 25% extra…

Because America and its citizens has done more for other countries than has any other country ever done for others.
Well, here we go again. What if, the middle class in America was now “forced” to become a productive manufacturing base for our country. Our sons and daughters having decent jobs, skilled labor, and a healthy respect for our own culture and an ethic of hard work.
Would it keep us out of endless war? Would someone else fill the vacuum if we stepped aside and would someone else be worse than our current CIA overlords? You know, the guys that can smell us in Walmart as we shuffle along.
Instead of taking care of the rest of the world let those other countries learn to do the same for their own people? What would happen? A real diversity of cultures without our influence or a new dark age?
By the way Bill Gates and friends, thanks for promoting all the vaccines in every third world country, the climate change manipulation, the Covid pandemic, the assassinations, the drug cartels..Way to use all your power and influence.
Obviously our own Intelligence/globalist citizens have made their fortunes on the USA being the superpower..
But events in the last decades, culminating in Obama, the Clintons, the Uniparty manipulations have led me to believe we are not always the good guys. Our guys do not even like USA citizens or our Constitution,
Modhi talks about the “politics of economic selfishness”but as Sundance says we are in an abusive relationship with our own government. The world is in an abusive relationship with us.
Agree. Perhaps Jeff is the one who should go away.
Soon Russia will finally crush what’s left of Ukraine and Trump/U.S. will have to learn to live and let live. I applaud PDJT for ending wars around the world, but it’s beyond obvious that Zelenzkyy won’t agree to ANY peace terms–he backs off each and every time a reasonable effort is put in front of him. Sanctioning India won’t work either.
both will work fine. The minute you kick out all h2b visa holders india will fold. they can not survive without the remittances.
you prevent all sales by the eu in the US then zelenskyy folds. bc they are supporting him.
“………….they can not survive without the remittances.”
As has been said and repeated time and time again:
Rule number one: Follow The Money ! !
Interesting comment, now apply your rule number one to DJT.
Not just h2bs all Indian visa holders and the cartel that placed them in USA jobs through theft, deception and other means. When you post job apps not on a true public posing site and then hire Indians, this is a clear cheat and all must be undone and those involved jailed, fined and all this corrected. This has gone on for years and is massive and it has destroyed our middle class and especially those from stem degrees and others that did the work and paid to be in those jobs, USA citizens.
^^^^^
And I’m sure the Americans that get canned love having to train their replacements before they leave!
I suspect you are right Ilyod India is more dependent on the remittances than the Latino’s.
Oh sorry did I not use the correct term?
Explains why we just got all those Chinese visas for students!
Show me the math that supports your assertion about India not surving.
Zelenzkyy sees his future will parallel Benito Mussolini if the war ends
it appeared to me that america gave away trillions to other nations. how ignert is that?
She’s a he. Old family name!
Like Ashley Wilkes.
Not sure but I think Ashley may have died in his first skirmish.
Any attempt to deny a readily available energy source by abusing a third party that brokers the product is a losing proposition.
Blame America First.
The rest of the world has been dumping our good nature for far too long. We are tired of it
Hey booger you’re the first poster I’ve recognized tonight.
And sweet! You’re a Missourian.
I agree Ashley. This may not end well for us.
India has no options for replacing the oil that they buy from Russia. The oil is used to maintain the economy for 1.5 billion people. What alternative do they have? Let their people starve? Is this really what the USA wants to do?
India is running a racket, selling that oil on the black market. I don’t particularly care that they are doing it, but let’s not pretend.
It’s not the black market! India is selling oil on the FREE MARKET. We are the interference over a war we started, we continue to fund and refuse to stop. India is not the bad guy. We are!
Yup!
According to India, when sanctions originated — Biden kiddos
told India OK to buy Russian oil……to keep prices stable when
Euweenies started with their Sanction package idiocy.
I believe Euweenies on Sanctions package #19-20 now.🤣🙃🙃
💁♀️
‘Perplexed’ by extra 25% tariff as US told us to buy Russian oil: EAM Jaishankar | India News – Times of India
Not our job to feed india africa anybody.
Not cogent to this conversation.
Horse puckey. What was India doing ten years ago for oil?
India is reselling the oil, not using it.
They are selling most of it to Europe so it’s not for domestic use. Whyever they are refusing to knuckle under it’s probably not being fully explained. Some say DJT & Putin are tag-teamed against same Enemy. If true, India is on board too; they would love to see the current incarnation of the British Empire brought low.
Patriotism is one thing, but using it to get men to give their lives so banksters get more wealthy is something else. Not good.
Except Europe is now obligated to buy US oil and natural gas under the trade plan that the EU capitulated to because they are in no position to lecture the US about economics. And please explain how favoring US energy companies results in “banksters get more wealthy”.
I hope this hidden alliance is correct. Modi and Trump had a very good and important relationship.
Good point and possibility of behind the scenes.
The fact that Modi in now in process of
restoring/strengthening relations with China🤔
🤷♀️💁♀️
Instead of the 100% tariffs that Euroweenies,
Ms Lindsey,neocons …and Zelenskyy wanted….
and have been relentless in pushing for……
President Trump kept it at 25%.
Optimal solution to appease them?
Yeah, sending our young men and lots of $ from our treasury to end their wars, rebuilding their countries & favored trade policies and then going home is really something to be ashamed of.
The golden goose (we the citizens of the USA) can no longer afford what you call arrogance. Obviously President Trump wants to see our leadership put her own citizens first for a change.
that’s what the US – the ww bully – does best; the flooding of impoverished Latin countries citizens is just a symptom as their countries been turned US vassal states with their their resources looted by powerful US multinationals, releasing its attack dog (CIA) to topple their govts. , creating never-ending wars… the C-19 shows it ‘graduated ‘into a genocidal criminal monster by unleashing ww this bio-weapon cooked in a commie lab for plausible deniability as all the fundings came from the US – the head of the snake – …But in a world of make-belief better “PRETEND” – Sundance dixit – to keep this thin veneer of moral high-ground.
“America being Great Again” is not a zero-sum game, or certainly doesn’t have to be.
That’s one opinion. Another is the days when other countries can outright ban certain U.S. industries and /or place high tariffs on U.S. goods to make them non-competitive but expect unfettered and free access to the U.S. market are over. Level playing field or you don’t get access. The world won’t like it. After all who wants to give up their preferential treatment? But they’ll have to accept it.
However, I do think that trying to sanction India for buying Russian oil is bad strategy that won’t work. India really has no easy way to replace that supply from elsewhere and certainly not at the discounted price they are getting from Russia.
Fair point but I think other countries have much less agency in this than our own elites who engineered a global supply chain to make themselves wealthier at the expense of national sovereignty all round.
This is the new battleground geopolitically – sovereigntists vs corporate transnational globalists. US is trying to restore its republic, outcome ytbd; I suspect China is in same situation with big struggle for control of CCP. European States are about to go through internal turmoil, outcome ytbd but I take comfort in the English flying English flags from their rooftops, not the Union Jack which is an overarching construct like the EU: both must be dismantled along with Deep State they help run in US.
Trump had von der Lying leave sometimes during the meeting; she is not a national leader speaking for people.
Interesting times…
Agree….
At the beginning of threat on secondary tariffs
on India if they continued to buy Russian oil…..
India response was…….India First! What a Novel idea.👏
India-US-Russia: Will buy oil from where we ‘get the best deal’ – envoy
sure. but it is the 5 eyes intel spooks and the bankers. not the US or it’s citizenry.
Gabbard gave order not to share any Ukraine relayed Intel with 5 Eyes.
Trump is pressuring the Fed.
The times they are a-changin’.
Everything is so simple sitting in your recliner and making sweeping declarations.
The nations of the world have long histories of violence, poverty, corruption, and political pathologies.
Trump is doing his best in the short term he has.
The USA has spent billions of taxpayer money around the world to aid the poor and destitute in corrupt
nations. Taxpayers have suffered from millions of immigrants, legal and illegal, who burden us with
their needs. And THAT is “supremacy.” God help us. Russia, India, Iran, and China deserve all the suffering they get.
“Russia, India, Iran, and China deserve all the suffering they get.”
“With what judgement you judge…”
Historically you are not wrong. For two decades it is not rational to count much of our ” aid” as aid. Remember USAID?
👍👏👊🏻
I find that a very cliche-ridden speech. But you do you!
Nope.
First time I’ve seen you post, Ashley.
That doesn’t mean a thing because some of us don’t live here 24/7/365 because we have lives we’re trying to live to the fullest. You may have been here for some time.
And I agree that the deep state has been subverting the natural progression of countries since the end of WW2.
What bothers me is the preponderance of commenter who agree with you that the US should align itself as a regional power.
Quite the opposite for me.
I am for pulling US out of NATO and the ME litter box.
And dropping Ukraine and ME…..like a hot potato.
Bringing our Troops back 🇺🇸
Becoming non-interventionist.
And focusing on…America First🇺🇸🇺🇸
Get the UN off USA soil. Move it to France, or China or India. Good riddance UN.
My computer keeps throwing up different names on this account. Usually I’m a Scorpion but this time it only offered my real name so what the hell. I use my real name on Twitter-X now too. I think the anonymous handle convention is making all of us impolite!!
I don’t live in the US. I did for a while in the 70’s and 80’s and was born there, but have lived most of my life in Europe or Canada. I retired in Mexico mainly because it’s more affordable but also I don’t like US health care or political setup. That said, it’s a great country compared to all the others and I want to see it do well. Most of my family lives there even though my siblings started out in London back in the Swinging 60’s.
I’m pro Trump but not convinced either that a) he can prevail or b) his support of the Zionistas will allow him to make substantive reform since they boost the MIC agenda Yugely. So I am waiting to see how it turns out. I hope Trump can do what Promethean Update gals say he is doing, namely getting US out of being the Global Hegemon controlled by the Gnomes in Basil and the City (and Wall St and Deep State etc.) and go back to a rebooted version of the 19C ‘American System’, i.e. based on productivity and sovereignty, not global credit cartel cabals. A regional hegemon and hopefully not a bully.
But again, I’m waiting to see how it turns out. Keep getting mixed signals. Trump ain’t boring, though, that’s for sure. And by far the most competent President as Chief Executive I’ve ever seen. He’s up there with the greats.
The most important thing to remember is that at every level, government is not representative of the people. We the common people do not do this. And we shouldn’t own it or feel responsible for it and certainly not defend it.
I’m loyal to the Constitution but not to the people who violate it.
We have been taken advantage of for decades and we are fed up with it.
We? As in the Marshall plan or USAID, etc.
I believe it’s and, not or.
Sorry, I don’t believe the Marshall Plan and USAID have anything to do with each other. But, that is just me.
I think that’s a simplification. All the ‘help’ we gave, including Marshall Plan, came with strings attached and made US corporation billions – or Trillions as Sundance likes to say. The whole thing has been about business and profits, never altruism. China’s rise is due to Western elites finding a way to boost profits and control, otherwise it wouldn’t have happened. Talking about China as a big rival is a con: we created China, and all the leadership’s children study or live here. They are part of this one world system, not enemies. The Globalists decided that US was the service economy, Russia defense and raw materials, and China manufacturing (give or take). Of course each country gets restless and tries to push the boundaries and indeed it looks like the Globalists have lost control so we will probably have a war to sort things out.
But we haven’t been taken advantage of, IMO. We were the ones doing that. Not We the People, We the Elites.
Wow. The economic ignorance/TDS is strong in this one.
The US entered WWII last, and was the first to help rebuild nations after the war ended, including offering the Marshall Plan to the Soviet Union (rejected) as well as Europe (accepted). For 80 years, the Marshall Plan favored and helped these nations at the expense of American jobs, manufacturing, infrastructure, and financial strength. During this time, EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY had tariffs and non-tariff trade barriers against US products. The US is 37 trillion dollars and debt; leveling the field is long overdue. It’s not dominance, it’s fairness.
And on the one hand, the Trump-haters say he should punish Russia, and when he does (increase sanctions on Russian and tariffs on countries that trade with Russia), it’s “domineering”. Can’t have it both ways.
India, China, Brazil, and South Africa are poor, unstable, and imploding. Their very existence is predicated on a relationship to the US, but it is these countries that refuse to change, not the US.
But thanks for the good laugh today. By the way, I am assuming “Ashley Howes” is the fake account for noted whiny Trump-haters Jonah Goldberg or Bill Kristol.
DITTO!
Your post lacks balance. USAID is not the Marshall plan, and India is a fair player in the world. Russia is not the Soviet Union and our own hands are not clean for more then two decades.
I have here and elsewhere consistently supported President Trump policies. Not here. I am hoping this is a bit of a ploy.
The secondary tariffs …errr…Sanctions
is the idiocy pushed by Ms Lindsey Graham,
Euroweenies, Neocons…..and Zelenskyy.
They have been talking about the tariffs
non-stop.
Ms Lindsey and his blathering about
“ bone crushing “ 100% Sanctions on any

President Trump only put 25%.
Optimal solution?
And like Biden was responsible for pushing

possibility.💁♀️🤷♀️
Look at the map Sundance posted closely.
Russia, China and India….that is not an alignment

The problem with Ashley’s argument is in her implication that America is cruel, loud, and ignorant … as if the negotiations of other major powers are nothing but enlightened, altruistic with unicorns and fairies flying amongst the rainbows.
It ignores the outcome of the culture of Christian civilization – almost all above the poverty line – by focusing on the flaws rather than the amazing success for the millions.
Fair points, within reason. I think with India that
a) we don’t really know what’s going on, no doubt much more than just Yes-No viz purchasing Russian oil
b) India is becoming a power. They have been there about as long as the Chinese. They don’t want to be in anyone’s pocket so Modi is carving out an India First policy as he should. A few months ago the Biden Administration encouraged them to buy Russian oil and sell to Europe. Now Trump Administration wants him to stop. What are they? Puppets dancing on a DC string? In any case, the story now is that Trump has driven India, Russia and China closer together where China and India used to dislike each other. Maybe. Xi is about to get demoted, according to many, so until the Fourth Plenum some unannounced time in October, no big meetings are helpful. Sept 3rd event is largely ceremonial.
I believe Trump and Putin want a Grand Bargain and if that is true then Trump is a multipolarist BRICS fan too.
Stay tuned. The Donald J Trump Reality TV Presidency has never a dull episode, week after week. More than 150 episodes left to go!
Nothing domineering about Trump calling out India’s economic support for Russia to engage in a war he’s trying to end
🥴🤔🤔🤔
By putting sanctions that are and have
been pushed by Ms Lindsey Graham, Neocons,
Euroweenies and the little green gnome
Zelensky incessantly for months?
Really….you think any of them want to end
the conflict? Nope.
And then take into consideration that Euroweenies
now working on 19th Sanction package….🙃🙃🤪
And then don’t forget about Biden kiddos encouraging
India to buy Russian oil since beginning of EU sanctions
idiocy…..to stabilize oil prices.
President Trump needs to kick Ms. Lindsey out
of his golf 🚗 cart.
President Trump is walking tightrope and trying
to find Optimal Solutions.
That is probably why
he didn’t do the 100% “bone crushing “ sanctions
Ms Lindsey has been blathering about…and only
put 25% extra.

I think that you should reevaluate your position on this one. If there are any indications of neocon influence or resurgence I don’t see it yet.
I am a firm believer in trust but verify, but I believe you are jumping the gun here.
I think the narrative on the Marshall Plan is skewed in US favour. Do you know how many patents were taken from Germany? Thousands. They had 400 cheese types whittled down to six. Kraft made them. Every thing boosted in Europe made bankster subsidiaries rich. Every dollar ‘given’ went into someone’s pocket, just like the billions ‘given’ to Ukraine now. It’s helpful to regard the West generally but also the US as kleptocracies – rule by thieves. Then it all makes sense.
Now is Trump changing that? I certainly hope so. But he is so tight with the Zionistas and AIPAC exerts so much influence on nearly every member of Congress that I wonder how much real change he can deliver. Presumably this has been negotiated. What I see so far is encouraging and if Israel is the only area where bad stuff keeps happening but the geopolitics and domestic policies dislodge the Deep State, that’s a good, if not entirely perfect or perfectly moral, deal.
Trump has one foot in Main Street America and one foot in the Swamp. He is wrestling with swamp creatures and cannot do so and remain squeaky clean. It’s probably best we only know so much. I am hopeful, but I don’t think he is a Saint nor is America all that virtuous a nation.
With this H1B visa scandal and 600,000 Chinese college students, how is this America First?
geeeze. he offered it, offerredddd
now he can pull it
Go on Whitehouse.gov to let President Trump hear from you.
He needs to hear from us.
I did just that and got a response then another. But Israel comes first in America.
Done!
China will withhold rare earth minerals from the U.S., if we cancel Chinese student Visa’s. This is a big boys’ chess game with many moving parts. While they may seem unrelated, it is all part of the game the nations must play.
Just make sure the students go home after they graduate.
Please
Fat chance of that! Judge Boasberg has something to explain to you! LOL
Yes but how many anchor babies will the 300,000 produce by then ?
U.S. has plenty of rare earth minerals. We just need to unleash mining
Will take time……

Opinion: China is locking up rare-earth elements — and the U.S. is running out of time to stop it – MarketWatch
Long term yes.. Short term, not happening.
I find it difficult to believe that China is our only source. I find it difficult to believe that some kind of ‘Warp Speed/Manhattan project’ could not be initiated. I think this is a short cut at the expense of American men/boys.
With HIS (Potus) visa scandal and his 600000 Wuhan kids.
Not good for America.
It is so obvious I can’t believe everyone isn’t talking about it!
It was clearly a negotiating shot across the bow to Modi. We don’t NEED to bring them here.
The Chinese are more than willing to take their place.
Huge hiring scam exposed.
Hiding high paying tech jobs from American workers so foreign workers can fill the positions.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/08/exposed-job-search-sites-caught-hiding-high-paying/
It seems everything is a scam and nothing is ever done about it! Everyone is making money except the Americans that went to school for tech, took the STEM classes etc., “learned to code” — only to be discriminated against in their own country. Just another America last attack.
Either we are America First or we are not – can’t have it both ways. This situation is not acceptable.
The US Secondary tariff on India should be in the form of canceling all the H1B visa from India.
That would probably be an excellent approach. Indian run businesses are often very deceitful. They hire other Indians at below minimum wage rates and treat them poorly, but as this is a cultural thing for them, the serfs accept such treatment. In my experience, hotels run by Indians have abysmally poor customer service. If I have a choice, I won’t stay in their hotels, and when I do, I almost always regret it.
Glad to see all the energy on the H-1B visas. No discussion involving India on any topic should conclude without addressing the H-1B visa scam.
You don’t like Patel’s?
Kash Patel was born in Garden City, NY. What H1-B Visa?

Very true! I have seen it here in Metro-Detroit. I have worked at these manufacturing companies as a skilled tradesman. Indian owned companies bring in all Indian/Pakistani workers and pay them very little, while housing them in Indian owned apartment complexes, having them shop at their Indian owned stores and shops, and increasing their populations to overwhelm everywhere they take over. It’s a huge growing problem.
Really no different than in the past when Polish immigrants lived together, shopped at Polish run establishments, etc. Then substitute Polish for Italian, German, etc.
I disagree. The Indian culture is very different than our Western culture. Personal hygiene, wife beating, respecting shared spaces, and treating the world as their trash can comes to mind. I pet sit at an apartment complex that has a large Indian population. I was surprised to see what a dump it was.
It is not just India. A Thai restaurant near me closed for multiple immigration violations, most prominently, slavery.
This is kinda old, 2018:

If we wanted to get a handle on things, we’d start screaming about The Small Business Administration.
Get a hold of one of their documents to obtain a loan, and weep. Because if you happen to be a white male
you are not on it. There’s the possibility that it has )(maybe) changed, but I highly doubt it.
The Small Business Administration used to hold meetings to encourage ownership of hotels, gas stations,
fast food franchises. Anyone that had the last name “Patel” was on speed dial.
A gf was a coder for FedEx. Her work group was taken over by Indians because once one becomes manager, they hire only their own. I wasn’t surprised when Raj took over as CEO.
Yes, I agree with that. If they will be deceitful in running businesses, what else will they be deceitful about?
We also need to remember we have Vance in bed with Musk who is a huge H1B person.
Just think what we’re in for if Vance were to be elected.
Then, there’s the issue he has with allegiance to his wife’s native country which would make it even harder for Vance to not capitulate to India.
Vance, as president, is not a pretty picture in ever so many ways.
Agree. I learned a lot from the response by Musk when we were told to “F ourselves in the face” and warned about how far he would go to protect the H1B scam. I lost any respect I had for him after that. And, of course, Vance is a “huge H1B person” We don’t need someone in power who has any kind of allegiance to another country.
I’m sick of them replacing us.
It’s not India’s fault that Microsoft wants H1Bs from India and we let them come here, is it?
Here, I agree with you.
He should….👍
Would probably be welcomed by Modi.👏
Stop the “brain drain “ from India.
Let those visa people stay in their own country
and….Make India Great Again!
Win for my country 🇺🇸
Win for India.
Return all HB visa recipients to Canada where most from India have come from and then the rest revoke their visa.
Then force all companies the do business in the U.S. to return ALL customer service jobs out of India.
I live in Redmond, WA and sometimes at Costco you’d swear you’re in a foreign country. They’re all over the place here.
They’re big at scamming Americans too…I encountered one the other day and told him what he should do with himself.
I kind of doubt that “them” in this case is the Russians and BRICS. My understanding is that most or all of that oil is going to Europe, which countries then turn around and keep the Ukraine war going to avoid the economic suicide that they’re committing.
If you notice, it’s Europe that Trump has been targeting first and foremost, right down to making them sit in the principal’s office while he made them wait so that he could talk to Putin.
The EU is the enemy.
Yes they are. Always starting wars and waiting for USA to finish it.
From the moment India was able to break free from the United Kingdom it has embraced the role of contrarianism to any force or nation that tries to tell it what to do.
So not surprised, especially since it, along with Brazil, Russia and China, being the founding partners of BRICS, India is staying true to form.
Send all the HI-B people, and their children and parents, back home to India. Problem solved.
India is correct here.
If we overthrew the CIA and GloboHomo, the war would end and we would be friends with both countries.
This is a direct result our wicked Deep State Evil Empire.
Trump is making some dangerous gambles in my view. The rest of the world is getting sick of us and Israel, our warmongering and Israels genocide and aggressiveness.
We are getting sick of the rest of the world. They have relied on our tax dollars to keep them safe along with other giveaways too long.
More from the Blame America Crowd.
Oh no what will we do …. oh yeah make drill and mine our own stuff
Everything comes down to economics and self-serving decision-making. Feelings and emotions are not a factor. Countries will make decisions and policies based on their best interests, not on how they feel about America.

Yes and Amen, Lord!
Maybe its a great time to shut down the h1b pipeline
Who do I side with, President Trump or Putin/Modi?
This is the easiest decision I have ever had.
You should side with the person who is in the right.
That would be President Trump.
Every time.
Like the Covid-19 vaccine?
That is a complicated scenario P Trump did good and not so good with.
I support 90 percent of what he has done and find him remarkable in many good ways. However I think him wrong here with India.
Have you tried on the realist and common sense side yet?
If you want to make the Indians change behavior start flexing on H1B and other Visa’s. But that might cost the digital Oligarchs money so . . .
No!
Very concerning…
India minus America equal nothing.
Nonsense, arrogant, unnecessary, and ignorant.
No one said President Trump will always implement solutions which every America likes.
But…600,000 students return to China with American Values? End of Communism?
India’s in a huff about tariffs. But, reducing Russia’s oil revenue! Could that result in peace with Ukraine?
National Guard cleaning up D.C? Heck, Trump’s got Democrats supporting crime in the streets!
No oil is now and always globaly fungible. Period.
“The book titled East Minus West Equals Zero is a 1962 non-fiction work by German journalist Werner Keller. Its full title is East Minus West Equals Zero: Russia’s Debt to the Western World 862-1962. The book presents a polemic argument that the modern culture, civilization, political institutions, social order, and scientific and technological advances of Russia and Eastern Slavs originated entirely from Western Civilization.
Keller asserts that every significant achievement in Russia from its late medieval period up to the Space Race was a result of imitation, emulation, and the importation of Western knowledge, rather than originating from within Russia itself. The author claims that no contribution in science, arts, or technology from Russia was original, and that the Soviet Union’s progress was entirely dependent on Western advancements.
The book was published shortly after the construction of the Berlin Wall and was well received by critics of its era, though it also intensified Cold War sentiments in West Germany. It was translated into English and published by G. P. Putnam’s Sons in 1962, with a hardback edition of 384 pages”
I would not read it based on the bias of the author and time period.
The author has the wrong country,it should be China,
“Keller asserts that every significant achievement in Russia from its late medieval period up to the Space Race was a result of imitation, emulation, and the importation of Western knowledge, rather than originating from within Russia itself. The author claims that no contribution in science, arts, or technology from Russia was original, and that the Soviet Union’s progress was entirely dependent on Western advancements. “
Bottom line is that India needs Russia and Russian oil more than they need the USA. This is not a trade fight the US has real leverage over.
India needs Russia for its energy to power the Indian economy. They use mainly Russian weapons which they need to defend against arch-enemy Pakistan and constant threats from China.
India sees itself as a once-and-future great power and the leader of the “non-aligned” bloc. That is a legacy of Gandhi and decolonization. It’s part of their national myth/image of themselves. They will trade with and work with the USA. But they will also trade with and work with Russia, or Iran, or China, or South Africa or whoever. They refuse to pick one side to align with if it means cutting themselves off from other countries.
India will never be an ally or true partner of the USA if that means cutting off Russia.
See excellent explanation of this at: https://korybko.substack.com/p/india-defied-us-pressure-to-dump
They can trade with whoever they want but this just went into effect Putin is going to pass a lot of free crude to soften the preasure for a quick deal Ukraine is internally on the ropes it will collapse soon .
“Bottom line is that India needs Russia and Russian oil more than they need the USA. ”
Wrong in every way. The Indians will soon discover that russian oil is worthless when your exports are no longer of value.
Hardly.
A true partner would see the evil the globalists did with Ukraine, and Indian nonviolence is not a myth. India working in the manner described is rational, and Trump has praised him for it.
Will there be tariffs on H1Bs from India??
India has been sucking the life out of us for years stealing our jobs, opportunities and dumping cheap pharma on us. I say give them a 100% including cost associated with data services.
Sounds alot like the relationship of a ‘pusher’ and their ‘junkie’. As I read the comments, the big question is, WHO allowed all of this into the US? As in nature, ‘water’ flows into the spaces that offer least resistance. As one well into their 7th decade, I don’t recall much resistance to all of the ‘cheapness’ that has permeated the US over the last few decades. What’s that Pogo saying? “We Have met the Enemy and He is Us”
screw them. get rid of them here in the USA: eliminate h1bs, get rid of the 180K Poon Jabs in trucking, and the motels, 7-11s, and gas stations.
they are a useless sub-culture. 2000 years of culture? what crap.
One year of culture repeated 2,000 times.
Modi said the world was witnessing a “politics of economic selfishness.”
So wanting balanced trade and not exfiltrating money from the US is now economic selfishness. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. India and other countries have long enjoyed billions every year related to trade deficits, we finally have a President who wants to level the playing field.
We have the largest economy and the wealthiest people on the planet. We are also larger by population than 95% of the planet.
How do you expect small countries that are poverty striken like Vietnam to purchase the same amount of “products” from us as we buy from them with 400 million people especially when a most of their exports are raw materials like rubber?
So we are to Marshall Plan smaller countries by allowing them to tariff and use non-tariff barriers against us while we follow the Libertarian utopian playbook of allowing unbalanced trade because Muh Principles? Like Canada, Vietnam will be used as a pass through for China if we don’t take steps to disincentive that. There are certain industries we must claw back on shore for national security. But this has all been repeated and nauseum on here.
We’re talking about trade inbalances. For example, Canada has 40 million people. We have 400 million. Do you expect every Canadian to buy and consume 10 times the “products” of every American? As for tariffs, the Canadians don’t tariff 99% of their imports from the U.S.
Yosemite…..
India tariff set at 25%.
The extra 25% …making it 50% tariff
is a “Sanction Tariff “.
The idiot Ms Lindsey and neo-con plan to
Tariff countries that buy Russian oil.🙃
The 100% “bone crunching “ sanctions
Ms Lindsey was blathering about….🤷♀️ta-dah!
Except President Trump made it extra 25%.
Except India said….I will trade with whoever I want…..
“How do you expect…”
I, nor any American, is responsible for the “other” people on the planet. We don’t owe them a damn thing. Nothing. And we demand fair trade and adherence to our standards if you wish to do business in the USA.
Yikes!
The tariff increase by 25% extra is because of the
idiot Ms Lindsey and neo-cons.
Ms Lindsey called them “ bone crunching “ sanctions….
Er…..tariffs…🤣up to 100%.
For countries that buy Russian oil.
President only took it to 25% additional.
So, we are charging our “ally” 25% more because
Modi gave big middle finger and said….
I will buy from whoever I want to. What benefits
his country….blah…blah…blah
We bombed Vietnam into the Stone Age and killed one million Vietnamese people there. They are a poverty stricken country dealing with hunger and infant death. On top of that Vietnam is a fraction of our 400 million population and they sell us natural rubber which Goodyear and Firestone need to make tires. How do you expect them to buy as much from us as we buy from them?
Have you been to Saigon lately?
“We are also larger by population than 95% of the planet.” what in the world do you mean by that?
Ever heard of Malayasia? China, India, etc.
countries are not “poverty stricken” like a disease. It is a combination of culture, government, IQ — many are RICH in natural resources.
🤦♀️ 🤦♀️ 🤦♀️
The extra 25% tariff is a Sanction tariff.
Secondary tariff/sanction.
Brain cramp of none other than Ms. Lindsey.
If India buys Russian oil….
They will get the increased 25% tariff.
Balanced trade is one thing, which I agree upon. But punishing a country because of where they get their oil? This is insane, and will backfire.
This is why any agreement the Russians sign with us (regarding Ukraine) is only as good as the administration that is signing it. They know that, after years of dealing with us. Biden told India to buy Russian oil, and now here we are with a different message.
Absolutely insane stuff we are watching here.
I partially agree with you. BRIC was founded in 2009, the idea and concept started in the late 90’s; this was well before any idea that Trump would run for President. BRIC was formed early in Obama’s first term. Clearly these countries did not want to feel under the thumb of the US dollar. However, we can choose who to do business with, just as any other country. The now longer list of BRIC’s countries want nothing to do with the NWO, a cleaving is taking place. What Trump wants is maximum pressure on both Russia and Ukraine to come to a peace deal. I see India and China as being similar as to want to take as much advantage of the US as possible, taking money from us, sending their people and culture here. Difference is India does not seek to dominate militarily or destroy our country with drugs. India is not our friend; they have taken great advantage of H1B visa’s and the further up they get in management the more H1B’s they want. We have around $45 billion trade deficit with India and more than $7 billion in remittances. It would seem to me that India is being economically selfish, just and China, Canada, Mexico and so many other countries that are happy to take money from the US economy. Global corporations and politicians have been happy to go along with it, now we see the results when trying to have balanced trade and protect the security of the US. If we can bring back manufacturing, ship building, etc., it will greatly benefit the middle class. I am hoping what Trump is doing can be sustained, that the populus will realize what corporations and politicians have been doing for decades. If people want jobs with living wages, you need to bring back manufacturing, reduce if not eliminate H1B visas and get immigration under control. Maybe people will figure out if you bring 12 million people into the US, primarily into larger cities, they have to be housed, this drives up rent and housing prices. The issue was so large that hotels were being taken over and new housing being built just for illegal aliens; then to top it off the taxpayers had to fund all of it. There is so much that needs to be done, limiting trade with India is small potatoes. My biggest issue with India is the medications they produce, we need to bring this manufacturing back to the US. When the war in Ukraine is over, I expect the additional tariffs will go away. Trump is using the tariffs in part to help put pressure on Russia to end the war. For that reason, I don’t see it backfiring. Things backfired in 2009 with BRIC. One last thing, funny how Putin could not talk to other leaders, even admitting the Ukraine war would not have started if Trump had ‘won’ in 2020.
I will say that I hope Modi is doing what is right for the majority of Indians and I believe Trump is doing what’s right for the majority of Americans. There is nothing wrong with that and in fact it’s the common sense path.
Good. The sanctions on Russia serve no purpose. It’s a disgrace that the United States is still involved in that debacle, and that we’ve effectively made them a NATO member by paying them to buy weapons from NATO that we sell NATO.
Completely disgraceful how PDJT won’t simply give a nationwide address to the People, cut off the funding and support, and make the Permanent War Party defend their continued prosecution of the war.
It’s not President Trump who is completely disgraceful.
He should give nationwide address about why we continue support this f* war !!!!
I will pass on your suggestion to him next time I see him. Don’t expect a quick reply.
Nevertheless, he should..
If that’s the best you can do, you might want to try some stronger coffee.
If the thousands of Indian-owned gas stations go on strike, it will offer considerable discomfort.
And what about Indian doctors? What if they go on strike?
“Jayant Patel, an Indian-born American surgeon, was dubbed “Dr. Death” by Australian media due to his involvement in the deaths of multiple patients during his tenure as a director of surgery at Bundaberg Base Hospital in Queensland, Australia, between April 2003 and April 2005. He was linked to at least 87 deaths among the 1,202 patients he treated during this period, with 30 patients dying while under his care. The allegations against him included botched operations, misdiagnoses, removing healthy organs, and using sloppy surgical techniques. Nurses reportedly hid patients from him due to concerns about his work quality.”
Have you ever thought about getting a job?
Have you ever had one?
He had one once, but I had to fire him. He kept scaring all the women fast food customers away.
Plenty of blame on the medical profession to go around yes?
Even more to go around on the legal profession.
It may be that the majority of the earth’s rare minerals and magnet material lies under the 70 percent of her surface covered by the oceans:
This is a very important area of geopolitical competition on which to keep a sharp focus.
Oceans.
Connect to Epstein? Terramar?
India has no consumers. India is to the ‘conservative’ deep state what China is/was to the liberal side of the Uniparty. There is an elitist class there, like China, that certain politicians hope they can get boat loads of cash from. It is happening in my conservative state where they pump money to state gov’t politicians while creating crappy businesses that ignore just about every law. There also seems to be the stench of human trafficking around some of them.
If Indian wants to modernize and join the first world, they are welcome to do so, but otherwise, I don’t care if we tariff them back to the back to the pre-pottery neolithic.
India is the fourth largest consumer market.
Ugly devisive and ignorant comment.
Clinton and US democrats apparently excell in human trafficking.
” Those of us to good for this world are adorning some other.”
Am hoping the 50% tariff on textiles from India can re-invigorate the practically extinct textile manufacturing industry in the USA. I am old enough to remember clothing and fabrics that were made in America of being superior quality to the stuff we have been offered for the past half a century. In fact, some of the Made in USA bedclothes, tableclothes and every-day garments (nothing fancy or expensive) that I bought back in the 1960s-70s are still going strong!
Do you long for the good old days of sweat shops and child labor!
Pay attention! We long ago exported those ‘jobs’ to black, brown, and yellow countries. Out of sight, out of mind………
He doesn’t get it. I fear you are wasting your time.
What a thing to say. She said nothing about sweat shops or child labor. She misses the good clothing. I do as well. I miss cotton. I live in NC, they devastated the textile factories in this state.
Most of the yardage stores have gone out of business. As with everything else, you can buy material ONLINE. But I’m old-fashioned and I want to actually see and feel the fabric. Too bad for me – “it’s get with the program” or be left out entirely.
Levi Strauss had a factory in my home town that was union, NOT a sweatshop and had a very friendly atmosphere among the employees. Mostly women worked there. Knew a kid whose mom was able to pay for a guitar, music and art lessons for him and his brother after she took a job with Levi Strauss.
There is an issue I overheard former employees talk about: a blood disease connected to formaldehyde sizing used on new textiles
You can bet the ladies in Bangladesh (or wherever that factory was relocated) also get that blood disease and I bet their pay and working conditions are not so good
Wow, if this is true it puts Levi Strauss right up there with Nike, Apple, etc.
Is it irony that at least two of these companies are in the Democrat, communist, utopian, statist, collectivist stronghold of California? I think not.
I still have the first blouse I bought, at a Dallas dept. store (Titche’s)…it was the first item of clothing i bought in the ‘big citiy’…I still have it and wear it…and it looks great…I bought it in 1977.
“The evidence suggests that Donald Trump’s threats and actions regarding Indian purchases of Russian oil are not a bluff, but concrete policy measures. On August 27, 2025, the United States implemented a 50% tariff on imports from India, doubling an earlier 25% levy, explicitly as punishment for India’s continued importation of Russian oil. This action followed repeated public warnings from Trump, including statements on Truth Social and in media interviews, where he accused India of funding Russia’s war in Ukraine and profiting by reselling discounted Russian oil on global markets.
While some speculate that Trump’s approach mirrors his transactional negotiation style—intended to extract concessions—there is no indication of backing down, and the tariffs have already taken effect. Therefore, the actions appear substantive rather than a bluff, marking a significant deterioration in U.S.-India relations.“
I don’t have any problem with tariffs but the treatment of India is beyond the pale. Both China and the EU buy more Russian energy. Yet they are not subject to the secondary sanctions. Plus India is the obvious geopolitical counterweight to China. China and the EU are actual enemies and I guess India is such now. This is crazy.
I am looking for a rational rebuttal to your post instead of cheap and ignorant insults to a billion souls.
Tax all remittances at 80%.
Make that 180% !!!
One million?
I think the biggest enemy of all the freedom loving countries of the world is the CCP. Every country in the world needs to decide who it will support, USA or China. We must decide which country we want to be the super power and support that country and at the same time withdraw all support for CCP. It is ridiculous for Europe to support Russia by buying their oil and at the same time fight Russia in Ukraine. It’s even worse that they want the USA to do all the heavy lifting against Russia but still buy Russian oil. Canada is at the tipping point of losing their sovereignty to China and it’s all because our country is trying to have it both ways. We have weak unethical politicians who allow this to happen for financial gain. They refuse to act because it’s not in their short term financial interest to do so and so CCP more and more gets its hooks into Canada. Russia is doing the same thing by playing footsie with China. They can’t be trusted. It appears that Trump is reaching out but it also appears that Russia will play both sides. They are not to be trusted.
Why do you think China is our enemy when 75% of our pharmaceutical products come from China, most of our computers, laptops and IPhones and they are the largest foreign buyer of Boeing Aircraft in the world?
China is a communist country dedicated to controlling the world and enslaving everyone. You either lack the ability to know who your enemy is or you’re one of them.
Enslaving everyone? Controlling the world? No, China hasn’t started a war with anyone in a thousand years!
Wow. Ever read SunZu?
Why and how did/does our leadership install a bioweapons research facility into one of China’s most populous cities (Wuhan) and use it to manipulate politics here?
your statement that 75% of our pharmaceuticals come from China (the remainder from India?) answers your question. China undercut US manufacturing to accomplish this. It is rope a dope.
This is one reason why I support Rubio over JD. Read between the lines. Reference sundance’s not-so-subtle photograph at the end of his post.
Don’t care about their tariff BS, but I sure would love to ship back all the visa holders here taking all the tech jobs.
Modi: “politics of economic selfishness”
I’m literally Ok with that.
India needs to take care of their own business. They do not assimilate, either. So many people from different nations come here to change US. So many people have no clue how the rest of the world really is, but they think they know it all.
I know many Indians who assimilate very well. They are not however Islamic.
the biggest dynamic not mentioned is the money sent back to India from all the H1/2 visa holders. It, like mexico, makes a huge portion of their gdp. with out it the 500k us condos in the country along will all the development comes to a screeching halt. then the party in power will be immediately removed.
Has the US offered an alternative to the Russia oil supply if India stopped purchasing it?
I like PM Modi – he does alot w every little n a huge population to support.
Modi and PDJT have always been in sync
I have no evidence, but I’m confident there’s many other considerations PDJT will give Modi other than electronics n Meds
And I’m confident those convos have already occurred.
I hope you are corrrect.
Just an FYI… 8 years ago the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) known for it’s Medical School and Research outsourced it’s IT Department to India.
India will yield if persuaded in the right pressure points.
By listening to the US Military-Industrial-Intelligence Complex (who are making billions of dollars as the Ukraine fiasco continues) and their Democrat and RINO warmonger supporters (who also profit from war while staying in power in the Washington swamp), Trump is doing the following:
(1) Continuing this Obama-Biden-Nuland war in which millions more will die and Ukraine will be destroyed
(2) Proving to the world that he is just a puppet of the US Military-Industrial-Intelligence Complex
(3) Pointlessly betraying many countries who have been friends of the US, like India
(4) Missing an opportunity to have a good relationship with Russia, which was stabbed in the back by Obama-Biden-Nuland in 2014
(5) Alienating his MAGA base (like me) who voted for him 3 times but don’t want endless pointless foreign military adventures when there is so much work to do here at home to defeat the traitors who still, like rats, undermine everything good about America
Trump could still end the US-NATO proxy war against Russia using Ukraine tomorrow if he stopped all arms shipments to Ukraine, but he is now as much a puppet of the US Military-Industrial-Intelligence Complex as he was a puppet of Anthony Fauci during COVID.
IN FOREIGN POLICY, Vladimir Putin will go down in history as the most capable statesman of our time, whose patient leadership withstood all the underhanded US-NATO attacks and prevented World War III, while Donald Trump will be shown to have been a bully and a failure who thought he could build an American empire like the old British Empire but lost it all because of his foolish pride.
You might want to join ‘The Ladies of the View’, although your TDS may be too much even for them.
There is a multipolar battle going on. The west is attacked from within and without. Modi sees this as asking too much, the EU buys Russian oil, why not India. He has a point, but not the only point. The EU has scaled back and will further, we need to align with the peaceful nations to end the war asap and reorient our focus where it belongs, commies, China and radical islam.
“Commies, China, and radical Islam” … well President Trump HAS confronted US academia, wherefrom emanates most of those noxious trends
How about PDT just halts all aindian H1-B’s and those set to be renewed within the next 6 month are not renewed. Citizens here could use those jobs
“politics of economic selfishness” he says… the irony…
The more I experience India, the more I realize we don’t want India.
Let’s start with India’s class/caste based society. Officially, they have done away with it, but traditionally, they haven’t, they won’t and they can’t. And it’s hard to go into all of the things this does to the minds of people in those circumstances all of the psych- and social experiments known are on full and horrific display across that country. And where they appear here in the US? Where I live, there’s enough of a population here that you can smell it and their businesses factually draw in buzzards. Big birds which smell death love to specifically hang out near the Indian restaurant which has changed name and owner at least 4 times over a couple of years there the last of which the back door was left open during the day for weeks with unbelievable smells venting from it.
It’s bizarre and absolutely not welcome.
And what else are they known for? Unintelligible tech and other forms of remote support services along with id theft and other scam operations.
Why do we have to live with such horrible neighbors and are seemingly forced to call them allies?
And why do they seem to be completed to “#resist” updating the balance between the US and their countries, each one posturing one day and then folding the next.
I fully expect more war operations at their border with Pakistan or somewhere else as a way to taint Trump.
I’d say ‘burn in hades’ but that’s kinda what they are doing already.
Your 0 upvotes is more then your comment deserves.
Ok, no more visas then.
Another reason India is not feeling terribly sour about this escalation so far is because India’s export revenue is well diversified and only 17% of the total is tied to the US. If the tariffs hit IT services that would be a death blow. Btw, Usha Chilukuri-Vance is US born and you can bet your bottom dollar she’s as red, white, and blue as the next American. She has no influence over trace policies. Vance, on the other hand, you’ve already covered here and he is somewhat beholden to the Silicon Valley pro-H1B lobby.
Interesting Mr & Mrs Vance pic there SD!
Let’s ask the right f’n question about what is happening here.
The right question is:
Why did Trump, just yesterday talk about admitting 600,000 Chinese college students?
Well now we know. Sundance answers that question in his article above.
It was clearly a negotiating shot across the bow to Modi. We don’t NEED you, India.
Anything India can provide we can get from the Chinese (with better English and less scammers).
Trump has made clear he is willing to take that shot if India wants to be our adversary. It will hurt Modi FAR more than it will hurt Trump.
Modi has to cave!
Why? Because a million Indian army of trolls won’t change the fact that Trump just drove a HUUUUGE wedge between the interests of India and China with those 600,000 visas.
Pure genius.
I know nothing about Indian H1b or student visas, but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if we currently have the exact same number of 600,000 with India. lol.
Check. Modi HAS to move his position or it’s checkmate.
After musing on this, it occurs to me that..
India just lost several key pieces in this game of chess.
Why you ask? Because Americans, like me, have had a very positive view of people from India. But by doing this, Modi has given me pause to rethink it.
The scales have fallen. I still see most Indians as good people but skepticism has entered the picture. The scamming, the slavery in their country, their arrogance, it is something I’m now seeing.
It can’t be undone.
So what are the digits and products now under the new raised tariff?
Obviously India didn’t blink. 😎✝️😎
And oh, personally, I’d rather buy rags, paper, etc from India than the CCP. 🕶️
Why Trump’s Tariffs on India Are Part of a Wider Geopolitical Game
