If you read the Zelenskyy statement yesterday following the phone call with President Trump, you would notice the seemingly detached nature of his comments. Almost as if Zelenskyy was a bystander awaiting further instructions.

We would have Ukraine, we have Russia, and we’ll have other people involved too.”
During the conversation with Trump on Wednesday, Zelenskyy said, the U.S. president told him he wanted to speak to both the Russian and Ukrainian leaders at the same time.
“He never mentioned in a conversation that Putin and Russia was a priority. We, today, trust these words. For us it is very important to preserve the support of the United States of America,” Zelenskyy said. (read more)
NATO, the U.K and the European Commission are not happy that President Trump and Russian President Putin may end up framing the terms of a peace deal that ends the war in Ukraine. The EU, the U.K, Blackrock and JP Morgan are expecting financial gains; President Trump dismissing their claims and efforts while simultaneously demanding surety for any further U.S. funding has left the EU very angry.

The non-pretending reality is that the United States was in a proxy war against Russia, with the EU and NATO toeing the line as participants, essentially a western alliance with the Biden administration controlling everything. The U.S. State Department, USAID and the CIA were organizing all of the efforts inside Ukraine. Zelenskyy was following the orders and instructions of others.
Suddenly, President Trump begins extracting the U.S from the proxy war. Without the U.S. remaining involved, Ukraine has nothing. The EU and NATO group understand this, and yet they must pretend a proxy war -with their participation- was not the reality.
In a related action, President Trump signed an Executive Order [SEE HERE] outlining that anyone from the State Department or CIA who attempts to retain their involvement in Ukraine and subsequently defies the expressed change in approach by President Trump, will be removed from their position.

I find it hard to comprehend how some commentators here (not you Common Law American) take the overly simplistic view that because Ukraine is wrong (and by implication the USA and CIA under Biden) that somehow makes Russia completely in the right.
The same folks who pointed out that the 2020 US elections were not valid somehow don’t recognize when other countries hold invalid or fixed elections. China has “elections” also as does multiple other dictatorships around the world. No one argues that China’s or Venezuela’s or Cuba’s elections are valid except rabid communist/socialists and dimocrats but I repeat myself.
I think Russia was 99% in the right to invade Ukraine as a proactive defensive measure. They knew exactly what was being planned as they had witnessed:
(a) the maidan rebellion at the direction of the U.S. State / CIA and subsequent U.S.-coerced undemocratic ouster of a duly elected president and chief prosecutor who were at peace with Russia
(b) 8 years of indiscriminate Ukrainian Azov Nazi shelling of the Russian-speaking residents in the Donbas resulting in civilian deaths, injuries, and destruction of homes and other buildings.
(c) creation of multiple U.S.-funded and sponsored illegal bioweapons labs throughout the country
(d) blatant talks about Ukraine joining NATO thus enabling the installation of more medium range guided missiles on Russia’s border, well within range of Russia’s major cities and industrial centers
The U.S. was ready to go to war with Cuba in 1962 when the USSR installed missiles there, some 90 miles from Florida’s southern coast.
IMHO it is grossly hypocritical to denigrate Putin for first exhausting his repeated verbal and diplomatic requests to the U.S. the EU and NATO to NOT do the same thing in Ukraine as the old USSR had stupidly done in Cuba. And second, when those requests were blatantly ignored, invading Ukraine as a last ditch attempt to stop the threatening encroachment on his nation’s border, as well as a NATO attempt – using Ukraine as its proxy – to eventually cut off Russia’s access to the sea via the only warm water port it has in Crimea.
IMHO up to 2022, Vladimir Putin had actually acted more civilly than all of the U.S. corrupt, warmongering administrations excluding #45 since the USSR collapsed in 1990. I’m not glad he invaded Ukraine, but I sure do understand it and find little to righteously criticize given the diplomatic wall he was deliberately backed into.
IMHO Victoria Nuland, Joe Biden and all U.S. AND European / NATO officials who actively supported the 2014 Ukraine coup and goading of Russia that incited the resulting hostilities are war criminals and should face military tribunals and the harshest of possible sentences.
So his only choice was the death of a million soldiers and the flight of a million Russians to other countries. Russia will be the pariah of Europe for another 50 years. Looks like a gross miscalculation of cost/benefit.
What if Putin hadn’t invaded? EU and NATO would still be denying Ukraine entry, Finland and Sweden would still be neutral, EU will still be avoiding NATO expenditures, Russia would still have a military reputation and Nordstrum would be supplying energy to Germany. Most importantly PDJT would still be gutting the deep state via DOGE.

Throughout these past couple months, I’ve viewed Trump’s foreign policy statements like that old Sean Connery movie line: “We’re beating the grass to startle the snakes.”
His final positions are unknown, although we can guess directionally. As long as the snakes get startled enough to expose their degeneracy, and rethink their positions, the grassbeating is excellent prenegotiation strategy, for Ukraine and Israel.

The non-pretending reality is that the United States was in a proxy war against Russia, with the EU and NATO toeing the line as participants, essentially a western alliance with the Biden administration controlling everything. The U.S. State Department, USAID and the CIA were organizing all of the efforts inside Ukraine. Zelenskyy was following the orders and instructions of others.
This is what it always was. I understood this as a result of watching the Gonzolo Lira vids, who was ultimately tortured horribly and killed in Ukraine, apprehended as he finally realized he needed to GFO of Ukraine and arrested at the border. Of course Senile Joe did nothing to see about getting him released, as Lira did nothing but tell the truth that Russia was always on the winning side on this. Lira, a Californian, was another one who paid the ultimate price in this FUBAR’d situation.
You would think President Trump and his team have been carefully planning all of these actions since he “lost” the 2020 election.
I hope the Ukrainian people will live in peace for thousands of years!!! NATO, the U.N. and the EU are responsible for the destruction and loss of life they now suffer. If we had a U.N. that wasn’t corrupt, crimes against humanity should be on their plate as related to the 100’s of thousands of deaths incurred in Ukraine. Bio labs have to be investigated and reported.
And the next thing you know, a “Russian” drone hits the Chernobyl radiation shield and Zelensky rushes out to blame the whole thing on Putin. Almost 50 thousand kilometers of land in Russia was contaminated in the Chernobyl disaster, so of course Russia would fly a drone into the containment structure and release more radiation.

Russia invaded Ukraine twice. Ukraine does not want to be a conquered territory of Russia. The rest is a babble of justification. The reality is that the rest of the world won’t go to war with Russia over the rubble of eastern Ukraine. Knowing PDJT, the cost of this war to Russia is just beginning.

The Nordic states still trying to figure out where they belong and likely considering if over the last 15 years they pissed away a really good thing … by more closely aligning with the EU and NATO.
Then there are the Baltic States (and Finland) whom Russia had pretty much left alone until they hitched their wagons to a failing and totalitarian EU and NATO … scratching their heads asking WTF and maybe ready to renegotiate their standing.
Germany, the UK and France see their stars fading even faster at this point in time.
