I find it very interesting this report surfaces in the New York Times and not The Washington Post first. The government’s new spy chief, Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, arrived at the headquarters of the domestic intelligence agency and found a pile of smoldering documents in the courtyard. Inside, many of the computers had been wiped or were infected with Russian malware.
“It was empty. No lights. No leadership. Nobody was there,” Mr. Nalyvaichenko said in an interview.
He went to an office and called the C.I.A. station chief and the local head of MI6. My understanding is that in Feb. 2022 Kyiv moved a 150k troops on the border of the Donbass. Putin had said earlier that the Minsk agreements weren’t working and he would send help to the Donbass if they asked. So when Pushilin of Donetsk and Pasechnik of Lugansk asked for help, he provided it.

Could not this admission of a greater and longer involvement (management) of Ukraine and its government backfire on the administration? Wouldn’t the general US population find the truth of our meddling in the affairs of Ukraine repulsive and have even less support for the current and ongoing activities in Ukraine?
This is not to even to take into consideration the potential of escalation for OUR military involvement with Russia (possible WWIII), and not to mention the money that is being thrown at this dumpster fire. I know I have a very low opinion of our State dept. and the CIA right now, although I admit it couldn’t get much lower than it already was.
This is absolute desperation if they think admitting the CIA overthrew and runs the government of Ukraine as a proxy to attack Russian will increase American support.
If anything, they just admitted Putin’s claims are genuine and our government are the bad guys.
Oh, and they tried to impeach President Trump for trying to investigate their illegal foreign operation.

Why would it change the minds of politicians to know that the US has been involved for 8 years in secret and illegal spying and training operations in Ukraine in addition to the already admitted bio-weapons labs?
