I have some direct experience. My wife’s sister has lived outside of Kiev for many years. Her husband, age 56 was conscripted in the spring. He went to basic training, before they went to deploy him, he went awol. Him and their son ended up hiding out in drug rehab center. Apparently, the authorities don’t want to pull anybody from there. There are no almost no men left to fight. I don’t see how this war can go on much farther.

I just learned of the disclosure a very short time ago. At first blush, I’m wondering how this revelation will be used to bait or set up President Trump into yet another politically motivated indictment. This whole thing seems much fishier than an attempted narrative adjustment.
I BELIEVE THE ARTICLE’S INTENT WAS MUCH MORE BASIC:
It is likely an insurance policy in case Trump gets elected. The article basically admitted what everyone suspected regarding US involvement and this is all we are going to get.
The amount of corruption and law breaking going on in Ukraine is probably staggering, with potentially thousands of DC insiders feeding at the trough. If Trump declassifies everything about Ukraine (and he will) so many people will be exposed. Furthermore, even if Trump does not get elected, it is obvious that Ukraine will lose the war and as a result there are bound to be investigations (like Benghazi) and those will need to be shutdown as well. The article basically buys the IC a “license to redact“. They burn all the documents they can and redact those they can’t.
The article was published for the same reason they appoint special prosecutors, like Robert Mueller, so that any time Congress wants testimony and documents they just say they “can’t be divulged due to an ongoing investigation”.
This NYT article essentially does the same thing. All anyone will get out of the IC about Ukraine are BLANK DOCUMENTS due the necessity of protecting “sources and methods” and a reference to the NYT article.
And now everyone in Washington DC can sleep well tonight.

Today Slovakia’s leader told the media that several NATO countries are considering sending troops into western Ukraine on a bilateral basis – based on the bilateral agreements that Ukraine has been making with NATO countries. Fico refused to give more details about what countries or troops or how far this has gone into the planning stage.
Robert Fico is among 20 European leaders in Paris today in a hastily called meeting. Macron said that the purpose of the meeting was to counter Russian talk that Russia is going to win and to offer further support to Ukraine.
I am heartsick at this news. European countries have made enormous mistakes that have hurt their economies, caused the death of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, de-weaponized NATO, betting on Ukraine to somehow “win”. They see Russia winning and are desperate to stop Russia somehow. They don’t care about lives lost. They know that they cannot dictate the peace as things now stand. They spend more and more money on Ukraine without care about the needs of their own citizens. And it has all been a huge mistake that they refuse to admit. So, they will escalate further?
I have a hard time seeing how this knowledge is going to help the White House. What is does is prove what liars they are and prove correct all the people who have been saying this for years whie their rubber stamp lying media has been perpetuating a totally false picture of what the truth is.
I think it proves how disgusting the US Government and the CIA have become.
