At least there are a few states where both senators held the interests of their voters in mind. Florida, Missouri, Vermont, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Nebraska all voted against the Ukraine spending bill.

It is VITAL that Speaker Johnson not bring H.R. 815 to the floor for a vote. Should that happen, it is nearly certain that all of the Dems, plus the usual Judas goat rabble of dozens of RINOs, would whoop it through.

I would point out that both our South Carolina Senators, Graham and Scott, were among the nays. This surprised me a great deaal, since Graham is usually a saber rattling war monger, especially where Ukraine and Iran are concerned. We have to send a message to all the Republican members of Congress that not another dollar should be spent on ANY foreign aid until our borders are 100 % secure.

This is a perfect time for the law fare group to bring to the supreme court’s a suite that the 17th Amendment is unconstitutional. Because it does not allow for the recall of Federal senators. If the state congress was in charge of their federal senators they could recall them.
I don’t think the courts would consider it but we need to expose the charade for all to see.
And I think I remember something to the effect that the way that amendment was passed was not legally binding to begin with.
There was never a provision for “recall”. The 17th was enacted because state legislatures believed that their elections had become a proxy for the senate election. As far as improper ratification, various theories have been advanced for several amendments (such as Ohio isn’t really a state) but never taken seriously.
Our government has not served our nation and people for 60 years. It really looks like it’s time to water the tree of freedom.

What those funds will accomplish is to get more Ukrainians maimed and killed, as well as more Russians, when what obviously needs to be done is to settle with Russia. The terms will not be pleasant for Ukraine at this point but it should be done.

There’s no origination requirement for spending, just revenue. The current practice is simply an agreement between branches that the House will not consider a Senate originated bill. But in practice that is immaterial to how the process actually works.

Many senators, I believe, have been receiving $$$ thru Ukraine (ie, Romney for one) and they need to protect themselves. Zelinsky knows where all the corruption is and Biden needs to keep paying $$$$ from Taxpayers to keep his and others secrets of corruption.
