The headline is the non-pretending reality. Now that Joe Biden has designated EPA mandates for U.S. automobiles that include having at least 50% of all new vehicle sales be electric by 2030 {LINK}, three major Chinese EV manufacturers are reportedly building manufacturing facilities in Mexico.
Blackrock investments steer WH policy {Go Deep}. Blackrock investments are heavy in China and EV production. Blackrock returns on their investments would be substantial with Chinese EV production in Mexico. Quite a coincidence.
BUSINESS INSIDER – Three major Chinese EV companies are planning to build new factories in Mexico, sparking concern among US officials, according to a new report.
MG, BYD, and Chery are all looking at sites to build new factories in the country, according to unnamed sources cited by The Financial Times, and this investment is causing angst in Washington as it seeks to keep China out of the US electric car market.
US officials have reportedly raised concerns with their Mexican counterparts over Chinese investment, with the new sites potentially including a new $1.5 billion to $2 billion MG electric car factory and a factory investment worth hundreds of millions of dollars from Warren Buffett-backed Tesla rival BYD.
China’s electric vehicle market is booming, and local manufacturers are increasingly looking to expand overseas amid cutthroat competition for customers back home.
China also dominates the global electric vehicle battery supply chain, allowing it to produce far cheaper EVs than many of its US rivals.
The US has attempted to protect the US market by unveiling new rules earlier this month to make it more difficult for EVs made with Chinese parts to qualify for tax breaks.
But the possible expansion of Chinese automakers into Mexico, which recently replaced China as the US’ biggest trading partner, will fuel fears that it could serve as a backdoor. (read more)
Blackrock invests in China and EV’s. Biden policy supports China and EV’s.

It’s almost as if….
Tarrifs would stop this in an instant.
Trump is licking his chops.
Where you been?
So the price on Trump’s head has doubled…
More than doubled given the latest improvements in is polling numbers to almost 70%. I really fear for the man.
American consumers not falling in love with electric vehicles will stop it even faster. That, and federal governments involvement in and inability to establish the necessary vehicle charging stations. Once those hurdles are crossed then all we need is a massive influx of nuclear power plants to charge all those new vehicles, and prop up an already weak power grid. Pfffft…..Minor details…
But we’d still have battery supply, disposal, and fire hazard problem. Not to mention it’s totally unnecessary and more harmful to the environment.
Fire hazard issues apply to fossil fuel vehicles too. We just need to learn to adapt to all these new and exciting ways to burn ourselves. Personally I’m more concerned about how to deal with the large scale disposal of spent batteries if electric vehicles were forced into widespread use. Maybe bury them back in the emptied lithium mines where their ingredients started? Maybe put them along side the spent fuel rods from a nuclear plant? I’ve yet to hear a well thought out and presented argument that could convince me today’s technology for electric vehicles is “better” for the environment than today’s gas and diesel powered vehicles.
They’re recycled
no, the batteries for EVs are not able to be recycled.
get up to speed, please.
Please do some research before making blanket statements…
The scale and capability to address the wide range of battery construction and type simply does not exist.
It is expensive and dangerous and toxic, and no makers seem to have recycling programs for the batteries they produce.
All EV makers should be required to provide end of life recycling of their products, at least of the battery portion thereof, and should not be able to use bankruptcy to escape the obligation.
Toyota is working on it, and is the only one I am aware of that does, but this should be required of all, even if the recycling is done by an assigned vendor, the certain recycling of the battery should be arranged and secured at the purchase of the vehicle.
Cirba Solutions Helps Toyota Expand Battery Recycling Network to Nationwide Program
Curious to know how expensive it is to recycle these batteries, how much the plant cost to build, how much the plant costs to operate daily, how many plants will be required to be built if all gas vehicles are replaced with EVs, and how long the process takes to completely turn one EV battery into recycled material. Oh, and is the recycled lithium product completely recyclable into new batteries such that no more mining is required for replacements?
Do you blieve that or do you know about something that will be coming Star Trek style?
They’ll ship the spent batteries back to China. The Uyghurs will be put to work burying them somewhere.
Problem solved.
/s (sort of).
The “tree hugger” groups of the 60s and 70s have now morphed into the climate activists of today. Just think of how many deadly wildfires there were in Commiefornia and the Pacific northwest caused by some little frog or fish being protected at the expense of centuries old forestry practices. The very people who created the conditions for these wildfires to spread so dangerously never, ever accepted their roles in the spread of this death and destruction. Now the climate crowd is deaf and dumb when it comes to the damage to the environment caused by solar panels, wind turbines, and EV batteries. Their myopic views only emphasize the failure of the American educational system. Stupidity reigns supreme with this crowd. The sheeple that follow them have been indoctrinated to believe the BS that those enriching themselves heap on them daily. Mrs. Gump was correct. Stupid is as stupid does.
They are go to dump the old batteries into the oceans! Problem solved!! Broma
Right beside the non-functioning whale-killing offshore wind turbines!
Anyone who wants one basically has one by now.
Hybrid is gaining traction, at least in California.
Hybrid has 300% more problems than gas fueled vehicles.
no, people are recognizing that both EV and hybrid are inferior to fossil fuel
Generally 10:years to bring a nuke onli, if you are lucky.
Not even close – more like 30+. IOW it ain’t ever gonna happen again.
Modular pebble bed reactors are coming on line much more rapidly than that.
The many decades model is, well, outdated.
Permitting alone will be more than 10 years. The 10 year figure is likely for the actual construction of the plant.
Just wait for the mass outrage. Coal production will begin anew and new coal-fired electric plants will come online. We have come to expect our electricity to give us comfort in our homes. Outrage will take over if only the political class has access to creature comforts.
The flip side of charging stations, is gas stations for Ice vehicles.
And Gas Stations need permiting; one way tovtry to exert influence to even things up would be to begin to eliminate gas stations, making it harder for people to fuel up.
Mariano’s, a Kroger subsidiary in Chicagoland, has already had electric charging stations in their parking lot, for well over a year…or longer.
I loved Mariano’s but still fled Illinois in retirement. But first, living in Illinois makes it even harder to afford an EV and second, why would a retail outlet want to clog its parking lot with a long line of cars charging for 20 minutes apiece? Its a virtue signal that would disappear if EVs were here in large numbers.
They might love the EVs but the fact that you HAVE to live in the 15 minute cities if you want to drive them is the problem. A 5% increase in the number of EVs on the roads of the USA translates into a 15% increase in power outages. How many people can afford a low-end but ultra-expensive EV (which is what you get when the guv-mint subsidies run out) that looks great in your driveway but you are forced to walk to the market and to work because you are forced to choose between using your kWh to charge that EV or having the electricity to live in your home? The Al Gores/John Kerrys/Bill Gates types will tell you how great it is while buying those fake “carbon credits” to steal electricity from taxpayers and living large on YOUR dime.
Not sure @ resolute. Look at the amount of goods from China in any store, brick & mortar store or online shopping. On an average, the American Consumer has preferred low cost (cheap) products in the past 3-4 decades vs. more expensive but far longer lasting goods that we used to. The EVs from China will sell for 1/5th the price of Tesla. The cars will be small and cheap, and, like these other goods, ‘throw away’ in a few years (less than 11, probably more like 7 years) and then get a new one. This has happened in so many product lines in the past 30-40 years that I don’t feel like listing them all. Try buying, let’s say, a dehumidifier for home that is built in the US (there is one from a company in WI) and it is nearly $2k, vs. cheap Chinese Hisense product from Costco at ~$200; who do you think has more market share amongst the two in the US? The WI one will last 10-25 years, the Hisense type will last for 2-4 years. People do this math (low up front capital) all the time. Thank you.
NAFTA, Clinton’s Legacy. It is the Law.
GHW Bush negotiated NAFTA. Clinton got to sign it.
Proving that evil is not solely inherent to one party or the other (unless you consider the Uniparty to which both Bushes, Clinton and Obama prominently belong).
My democrat uncle says Clinton is his favorite republican.
Nobody buying any EV would stop it just as fast and hurt them worse…
Ah, the “magic” of “free” trade deals.
Looters have been busy.
All Leftist so-called thought is based on magic.
Recall that during the Plandemic all car manufacturers dropped their economy lines, you cannot buy a new small inexpensive fuel sipping cars in America now.
The electric offerings now available are hugely expensive.
Enter China . . .
Trump should cancel CAFE standards and instead implement a minimum percentage of vehicles be manufactured in the $20,000 range.
PDJT would restore a great degree of sanity and freedom, I don’t see him needing to mandate any such thing, though he could certainly encourage that, it would help many, including manufacturers.
My son is an engineer at a new American NQ1 operation. 3 engineers there including him bought Elantra’s in about a month. He bought the N Line model, a six speed manual transmission, a shockingly good sports sedan. It’s averaged 35 mpg for life so far. About 27k new. He was stuck, literally a few hundred miles away with a broke down car.
These are not people that favor foreign cars .
The Tesla model 3 is barley under 40k for an absolute base model, which seems to me to be most preferable in that line. At least it’s US, nominally. Maybe the best buy in American cars.
This is a 30 year old highly credentialed engineer that carried the load for a new manufacturing plant to get certified to build nuclear components. Well paid, done great work.
The point: American economy is failing young people. He couldn’t get an American car he would have preferred and lives in a nice older 5th wheel camper because the housing market is so out of whack. He wanted a camper, don’t get me wrong. Not for a long term residence.
I can’t imagine what younger people in general will be put through if things are so hard at his position. I don’t mean that disrespectfully.
I utterly fail to see how any young person, parent of a young person, used to be a young person, or will be a young person if they can escape Planned Parenthood, can support this idiot regime. See prior story on CTH.
I don’t even wish to speak to anyone who supports these damned fools. To support them, you have to be an idiot.
There. I’m done. I’ll go away now.
100%
Are you talking about the Hyundai Elantra?
Cheers!
Yep. I’d take it from him gladly.
Yep,
A D.I.L has one…fantastic value.
As are their SUVs..
( the gasoline powered ones)
The sports sedan hyundai elantra!
It’s a conundrum.
Only MAGA can reverse the tide of despair and dependence.
I love my 2019 Hyundai Kona Limited. It runs like a top, and gas mileage is decent for a turbo.

Their jet fuel is helping to save the planet, while our gasoline is killing it. We have to be stopped. Cars that only the parasite class can afford must be made mandatory.
And Elon Musk is letting people publicly point out the malice in that political-religious tenet, so moving the competition’s Explosive Vehicle manufacturing into Mexico is a win against him in the war against us.
Yep,
We have family in the car business here in British Columbia .
With the favourable exchange rate for Americans many are buying smaller “ gas sippers” here and shipping them South.
A local broker sends a “ car carrier” South on a regular basis.
Cheers!
Squeeze the middle class out of existence. Make proles out of the former upward mobile. Squish their dreams. Break their will, steal their money, harness their productivity to support the power-mad greed and lazy self-indulgent wealth and Godless moral decadence of the ruling class.
Bolshevik Revolution II.
EVs are disposable cars. Drive it ’til the battery gives out, then into the dump it goes. So it makes perfect sense that they’d be made by China in Mexico.
EV’s are the equivalent of a burner phone.
You have well elucidated exactly why electric cars aren’t disposable.
They are limited and of short duration, but too poisonous to put anywhere but secure dry storage where they will remain a toxic flammable danger for just about ever.
Nah!! Military use. Tanks can align the scopes. FIRE!! BOOM. No more car.
Electric batteries are too expensive as well.
Yeah! So let’s just go back to smog then right?
Electric vehicles have their place but it’s no business of government, federal especially, mandating the sale, use, maintenance and manufacture of one exclusively and outlawing the other, and otherwise making it impossible to own or use gas (except for themselves – all-electric private jets by 3030 anyone?).
India and China are polluting our globe massively. Let them cater to your Green Needs. Don’t make USA have to reduce us to bicycles and little putt putt EVs while those 2 nations spew filth into our atmosphere.
Those countries are doing what they think is best for their countries. We should do the same, i.e., abandon the Green New Deal, which really is the Green New Scam (VSG PDJT just used this on Truth Social). Fully develop oil and gas, and make more gen 4 fission reactors for electricity, and in parallel have a national (lab) challenge, well funded and resourced research, to accelerate fusion reactors to be a reality in ~3 decades. This is the real environmental approach now stupid Wind and PV which are amongst the lowest energy density sources. Thank you.
Somewhere there will be power plants being built to provide the kilowatts needed to charge all these new electric vehicles – and they won’t be wind or solar.
The other option will be electricity rationing. You going to drive your electric car or heat your house?
But this is all you’ll actually need – especially in their planned 15-min cities:
Costs less than a Tesla battery and you can charge it from a wall outlet. Just need to find a USA manufacturer.
And you can work on it yourself 🙂
That’s what my sister uses at her coastal home. Boogies all over town and to the beach.
Martha’s Vineyard would make a great dump site.
The entire EV bs will likely fall flat for the majority of the US. The entire green new scam will blow up when PDT opens US oil and natural gas back up and reverses all of the communist leftist policies of this current fraudulent administration.
Wondering if those chinese car plants will be close to the American southern border? It would explain the massive numbers of chinese men illegally coming over….
Be an illegal in America, get freebies while working for the CCP in mehico…..?
Talk about double dipping!
Flood Mexico with American labor.
I’d much prefer bobblehead send all 48 million gimmigrants packing back to mexico… cheap labor
People in Mexico hate Americans too much to hire us.
And yet anyone who can run, jump, or swim is here.
Well then, they are a bunch of racists. Don’t they know that Diversity Is Their Strength?
The ongoing saga of the white house imbecile. Unaccomplished as a politician, but so corrupt, that he’s been bought and paid for his entire career, by anyone with a buck.
FJB.
I’m not buying an EV.
My Toyota is bought and paid for. I’m retired and no way in Hell going to get an EV! Biden can french kiss my red-eye!
Eventually, and you and I may not live to see it, they will make it very difficult to get gasoline or diesel fuel for our ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles.
At least, thats there plan I suspect.
No cheap energy equals no civilization period. Current human infrastructure is built on excess energy. You wouldn’t be worrying about charging an EV but instead worry about smashing rocks together in a cave, and asking the neighbors over to a brontosaur burger bbq. Probly not the stone-ages but medieval peasants with push carts should be attainable 😀
The whole EV thing is not that you drive electric, its about you not being mobile at all. The power grid can’t handle even todays load (look at Texas brownouts recently.. without EVs)
sounds right.
A thousand thumbs up! Thank you.
Total tracking and shutdown ability.
Not just the fuel, but replacement parts. Junk yards are hard to come by now. Selling parts online is popular.
That’s been their plan since the early 70’s.
Can’t unsee.
Not giving up my v8 Corvette for piece of crap ev.
I will never steer an appliance.
Screw these bastards. Make a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. Make a worse product, bribe the politicians to support it, and the path to civilizational destruction is set. Why does Fedgov think it can DICTATE what products we purchase?
Because the FedGub is being run (into the ground I might add) by the Kenyan’s Communist he embedded in the politburo of the “Fundamental Transformation of America” divisions.
Do not comply!!!!
Actually, why does Fedgov think it HAS to DICTATE what products we purchase?
Because those IN the Fedgov make a lot of $, by selling their ability to influence policy in order to pick winners and losers.
because they can think up all kinds of silly crap while they sodomize each other.
FJB & Co.
Meanwhile Americans are driving their old vehicles. My newest is a 2010 with no plans to buy new.
Soon our fleet will look like Havana Cuba’s
Still ‘rockin a 2003 with 235k on the odometer.
Likely going to run it into the ground to forestall buying a new(er) one as long as possible.
Obviously with as much regular maintenance as can be afforded. Even used cars up my way are ruinously expensive outside of a private sale.
A 2006–just recently went over 150,000 (old lady here who drives less than 100 miles a month)
What hurt financially was some 30k in just 6 months of 2022, and with $5 gas at the very start of a daily commute to a new job.
Bidenomics in action.
2014 just hit 90K miles! Hopefully the last ride I buy. I drive less than 5K a year! I’m emissions exempt! Getting about 22 MPG.
I have a 2013 with 85,000 miles. I probably drive 200 miles a month now. I was harassed out of my job over being shamed and othered for not taking the vaccine. I quit work in August 2021 and got early SS. I’m doing fine.
Gotcha beat Sharon. 2002 Honda Accord and interior still looks brand new. Outside good too. 135,000k miles. Strangers walk up and offer to buy it. As I told Honda I’m not selling it. I don’t care what anyone says!
It’s so easy to analyze Honda didn’t bother charging the computer analytics test!
LUV my Honda!!!
Sounds like we’re in a tie MC! 2002 Nissan Maxima…53,000 mi. Until recently, mainly driven to the market and the tennis courts. Except for 1 brake job, and a few oil changes, she’s all original…..AND NO SPYWARE!
Wow! Impressive Ad Rem!
Yes, it’s all the computer stuff that I do not want.
My 04 Camry has nearly 240,000 and I fully expect to see 300k. Toyotas are made to last!
2005 and 07 Toyotas. Praise the Lord!
Got you all beat. 2 x 1997, 1@ 230,000 miles, could go a million, the other at 60,000 miles and will outlive me.
Both Diesels,…oh and my 1972 electric,…a golf cart, with solar panels I installed on the roof.
DH still drives his ’96 Toyota RAV….and it passed 250,000 a while back. He did rebuild the trans.
praising for ya.
My Ford is showing its age….kind of rusty hear and there…won’t get a new one yet…keeps me safe in the “hood” where I work…no one wants to car jack a 12 year old rusty Ford, LOL.
Is there no end to the selling out of our country by this administration and other politicians from both parties? Are there REALLY any US officials raising concerns about this?
Just one. They’re about to put him in jail, though.
Unions?
Where are you guys?
Look under the table, that’s where the money is.
“… at least 50% of all new vehicle sales be electric by 2030 …”
Not only is this an insane and unnecessary goal, these foolish children who are ruling us have absolutely no clue how ANYTHING in the world works outside of their silly political milieu. Heck, the fortune 500 company I worked for could take that long to develop and roll out a new store interior package! And what besides chaos has DC produced in the last four years?
Oh, wait. Perhaps it can be achieved. In 2030 ten vehicles will be sold, five of which will be EVs. Three of those will have burned to the ground by year’s end and the other two will be stalled in the line at the one non-functioning charging station within 50 miles of their homes.
They know exactly how it works. They have no intention of us, our children or grandchildren ever living a free life. Cars are freedom. EVs are the transition out of them.
This is agenda 2030. The goal of this phase is to get us out of our gas powered cars into their corridors where we can drive EVs but no longer afford single family homes. Agenda 2050 leaves us without cars as they force us into 15 minute cites with only public transit to go where they permit us us.
Decide what hill you are willing to die on. Until we do they will keep pushing us back.
The hill is right in front of me, just under a year away.
Decision made some time ago.
Yes. The whole point of EVs is to keep us out of having a vehicle and into 15 Minute Cities where we take public transportation or ride bicycles. Maybe there will be a booming rickshaw business for younger men.
Never forget the WEF/UN business model –
You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drive an electric vehicle. China gonna feel the burn on this one.
High crimes and misdemeanors.
Americans won’t buy EVs simply because they can’t afford them, they can’t travel efficiently, and frankly we love gas. So go ahead China. Build your plants in Mexico. FJ B
Those factories in Mexico could just as easily build tanks to use against us.
The U.S. and other governments might as well mandate horse-drawn wagons replace gasoline-powered cars. Electric vehicles can never be built at the scale these scoundrels fantasize.
This is a big fraud to take away personal transportation. If they can take away our gasoline cars, they will then declare electric vehicles are proving IMPRACTICAL and they will have successfully stranded everyone to within walking distance of their homes.
This is all about taking away your freedom to travel long distances.
This Cluster-Foxtrot into EV’s is going to get amusing…
We are going to need more coal to charge those cars. Maybe Joe will call a cease fire in his war on fossil fuels; just long enough to get some more hostage coal out those underground tunnels.
Yes, I believe that Mexican arrangement would be be much better than that SF property we looked at a few weeks ago.
Sorry about the twin bees.
Blackrock epitomizes the poisonous nature of woke capital by furthering its shakedown of American-made through stakeholder ESG policies that align with Green New Deal policy scams.
Only a fool would part with that much $ for a lithium powered vehicle. Good luck with that!!!
EV car tires last 20% less than gas driven car tires. That’s 20% more disposal car tires to environmentally contend.
A sacrifice Chy-na is willing to make.
We Americans are being setup to be the next “Uyghurs” thanks to the Obama/Biden Cult.
We “white” Americans.
How many coal plants in China does Blackrock own? None of this is about the environment. If it was there would be no globalism. They also wouldn’t own coal mines in China.
They’re a sick and demented company who hates Americans.
I would add…All of those Occupy people from 08 were bought by Blackrock and are now the rioters. No more protests and riots on big corps anymore…
Absolute fascism.
If you want to light yourself on fire, swap out that Lithium-Ion battery in your phone for a cheap Chinese model that you bought off of eBay… you’ll be sure to brighten up The Holidays…
I’ll strap a Propane tank to the roof of a ’72 Pinto before I park an EV within 30 yards of my house…
Home owners insurance….
I wonder if there are special clauses in policies relating to the parking of an EV in one’s garage or charging one from one’s garage…?
Increase in local property taxes to cover the wages and union bennies of local fire departments and paramedics?
Its a bigger windfall for TPTB, than one could imagine.
Such a pity, seems that EV’s aren’t really selling in the US market. Another concise logic flow from Sundance. Too bad that the people who support tyranny just wouldn’t understand it; the pretending is their reality. We have reached a point that they deny the reflection they see in the mirror everyday…
How about giving all those pols an EV to drive around in! They would get the hint rather quickly!
Some state and local governments are already mandating the use by the government employees’ work environment.
Why would they do that if President Trump will be returning to the White House in 322 days?
Start asking the right freaking questions.
Yup. He will strike down the mandate before the sun rises on the first day.
And yet Black Rock, CCP, et. al. are all in full steam ahead. They appear to know something we dont.
M Armstrong has written a bit on BlackRock lately. Scathing review on the private blog. Fink is going down and the Black Rock Ukr investment will fail too, per Socrates, AI forecast has never been wrong. All in due time.
One second after midnight IMO.
`This won’t work well. I just watched a few videos saying that people are not buying evs. Dealers measure their stocks by the number of days that they would have to sellout their stock if they got no new cars.
For gas cars that number is around 40. For EVs that number is around 200.
The idea is to remove the choice.
What a laugh. Have the ChiComs not noticed that no one wants EV’s in the US? And in fact, US automakers have lost money cranking out EV’s at King Biden’s Edict, only to have them sit filling up lots in dealerships, and as a result, many have cut back production of EVs. We may not have much liberty left in the US, but we still have the power of the purse. Maybe when they start making EVs that don’t catch your house on fire, things could be different.
The other factor here is that even if someone actually wanted an EV, would ANYONE in their right mind buy a car from the ChiComs? When you can’t even buy a floor lamp made in China that’s not broken out of the box? Would anyone actually trust their quality controls? These people hoping to cash in on Biden’s abuse of power are all delusional. Personally I’m not buying they’re that stupid. More likely, this is all a ruse. What are they really planning to build just over the US border? More bioweapons labs? Warehouses to stash their weapons of war in advance of a US land invasion? Don’t worry, our Intel will be right on it and will make sure Biden keeps us all safe. <rolling eyes>
Basically none of them gives a F what happens to us. They extract more wealth, while driving us into slavery and our nation into debt. This is war – not reason
Precisely.
EVs are what people drive when they don’t need their real car.
EV’s are a fad. Around DC many have them to one up or keep up with neighbors. The market is pretty much saturated of the people who want them. They are unaffordable to the average American. Insurance on them is ridiculous because with minor damage they are totaled.
Someone explain to me how the Feds are going to force people to buy them when they can’t afford them.
Stolen elections have terrible consequences.
Once the $7500 tax credit is used up, they will not sell.
Just occurred to me, are the carcjackers stealing EV’s, or avoiding them?
Good question!
Good time to be a used car salesman!
Better time to be a used vehicle restorer!
Maybe a potential market for glider kits for cars.
For years there was a niche market for replacing the body, cab and certain components on semi tractors and rebuilding the engines. (Govt banned this practical solution also of course). This market was in response to the truly screwed up emissions gear and overly complicated sensors which constantly fail mandated by EPA. Semi tractors prior to 2000 were simple and very reliable, it was not even noteworthy to get a trouble-free million miles plus out of them. Not so anymore.
Now our govt., in its infinite stupidity, has done the same for farm tractors.
The more complicated you make a tool the more ways it has to fail should be a sign placed over every design engineer’s monitor.
Expect another “cash for clunkers” boondoggle.
Expect it to be ever harder and more expensive to obtain replacement parts for gasoline and diesel vehicles
It is not stupidity. It is treason, at every level of government.
What’s that sound Yo? It’s the sound of UAW jobs moving south of the border. That’s what happens when you hold your employers hostage for higher wages than the market will bare, you forced the move south. Democrats made NAFTA happen with the help of the Republicans, they were both paid well for your kids jobs. NAFTA allows all this to happen so easily.
USMCA is not much better. It is a setup for a NAU—just like EU. There goes our constitution. Each country has 1 vote. Sad.
Just a sneaky way to offshore manufacturing.
The EV push rests on people believing the wrapped science…The lies on manmade GHG effects…a phychosis worse than Covid. If DT kills the EPA mandate, strips CARB in its ability to regulate transport emissions, pumps more oil & gas, increases refinning capability, withdraws from Paris accords, elliminates useless alt energy subsidies; then this nonsense goes away.
If the bad actors are exposed and punished, tariffs or prison, then we can recover in an enduring fashion.
As Eastern Europeans noted when the Soviet Union fell and the Communists sought a new approach to seizing power:
The Green Tree has Red Roots.
I have to chime in a little bit regarding EVs, especially in my job field with EV semi trucks. If or rather when this mandate is forced through Elon ‘snake in the grass’ Musk stands as well to make a large sun of money with his Tesla Semi. I will tell the Treehouse right now, that thing is a piece of junk. The seat and controls are in the middle of the cab like a race car which is not good for semis because you lose sight pictures on the trailer behind you and wastes space in the cab. The cameras and sensors they hype don’t help because you still can’t see the back of the trailer, which is important when reversing. The range is pathetic compared to conventional trucks and that range test they crow was done in optimal conditions for the batteries to get the most miles for deceiving truckers. The worst aspect is the weight, the batteries add about 10,000 pounds of weight to the tractor alone compared to conventional. With the DOT regulations setting truck weights to 80,000 pounds shippers have to start cutting 10,000 pounds out of their loads which means more trips, more trucks, and ultimately more money into the Gov pockets. Any truck made by Chinese manufacturers with essentially forced labor in Mexico will be much worse but more numerous equalling more money for Mordor DC. As Sundance often says, “There are trillions at stake.”
“Their Trillions at stake”.
I appreciate this kind of info that people share here. Thanks.
They can mandate all they want, but I am running over anyone who tries to take my 1979 FJ40 Landcruiser away from me. And if they want to chase me in their EV wherever I can go with my car, good luck!
Niiice! We just got a modern day Land Cruiser, an 08 FJ Cruiser. We love her!
That Family Bush! “Giant Sucking Sound” is as loud as it was right after “Read my lips, no new taxes!” thirty some odd years ago…

Hmmm….I watch a YT channel called ‘Auto Expert John Cadogan’. He’s in Australia, which has been inundated with Chinese built EV’s. Let’s just say that there’s a bit of an issue with ‘quality control’. I suspect that Chinese EV’s built in Mexico will not be substantially different….???
“Made in China” = “Made by Slave Labor.”
Economically and in measurements of quality, slave labor is found wanting.
The solution to Chinese-Mexican Electric Cars?
DO NOT BUY THEM!
And I use the term “The Manchurian Marionette” to describe the usurper-puppet occupying the White House for a reason.
Meanwhile, people’s don’t want ev’s, there id no be infrastructure to support ev’s, and toyota is in investing heavily in ammonia vehicles as the future. EV’s will always be a novelty.
It’s almost as if….
Biden imagines the pope saying “Forgive him Father, for he knows not what he does”. Unfortunately, he does know what he is doing. Yet he does it any way. And the endorsement of this pope is akin to the endorsement of Satan himself. Then again, it appears that Satan has a pretty firm grip on the District of Corruption and those who “work” there seeking to enrich themselves at the expense of others all while claiming to be either practicing Catholics or Evangelical Christians. Hypocrisy at its finest.
I’m not sure if this or these jackals selling US Steel to the Japanese infuriates me more.
There is no end to the tyranny appetite for the elite.
Speaking of elite:
Please review the grammar (Stop Throwing Things At Me!!) rules for singular and plural nouns.
The White House is singular. Yes it is.
“The White House Is…”
To pluralize nouns is a Britishism and a signal of elitist tendencies, not of clear communication.
I get it. I’ll be pilloried for bringing up such a detail, but it does raise a flag of pretention and snobbery.
Trump should ban the import of all EVs. Problem solved. Blackrock takes a loss.
I do not think there has been a more hated company than Blackrock since Standard Oil. Maybe Exxon.
Agreed. But at the end of the day they have to make money. EV market is a huge loser but consumers aren’t driving them.
My biggest concern with Blackrock is real estate.
Monopolies used to be considered dangerous to our republic; now they are sought after and there are worldwide monopolies. If a country becomes a monopoly is it still a country?
You can tell who’s in control by who controls the markets; and people are running short on choices.
If it weren’t for Big business we’d have no business at all.
If it weren’t for Big pharma we’d have no drugs at all.
If it weren’t for Big schools we’d have no schools at all.
If it weren’t for Big government we’d have no government at all.
As the population grows we get less control, less prosperous, less intelligent; does that make sense?
God Help US
Monopolies limit real growth. Trump see US as the return to the real markets.
