Sometimes I just sit and shake my head. Why these guys keep appearing with Sean Hannity is beyond my understanding. That said, the platform and host is the first warning sign, the content of the interview is another.
Speaker Mike Johnson, who is a significant upgrade from Speaker Kevin McCarthy, sits down for an extensive discussion on current political events where Sean Hannity can tell Johnson his role and responsibility as Speaker. WATCH:
.
“… where Sean Hannity can tell Johnson his role and responsibility as Speaker“
Too darn funny. And true.
Hannity, as usual, does all the talking.
Well, who else is Johnson supposed to sit down for an interview with? Jake Tapper? Rachel Maddow? Network news has been purged of anyone who is genuinely conservative or has the courage to criticize the deep state.
AMEN! Over 50% of Hannity’s viewership are INDEPENDANT or LIBERAL! Great way to get the word out!
Tucker Carlson? Why should any conservative sit down with a member of the MSM?
“Why should any conservative sit down with a member of the MSM?”
Mainstream Media is what most people hear.
Why wouldn’t you want everybody to hear the GOP solution to high gas prices, inflation and bringing back American jobs?
I agree. When Speaker Johnson takes the MSM to the woodshed, I have much more respect for him than being on with Hannity (his first sit down???). I agree he should fight it out in the public forum. And not submit to the torture of listening to Hannity wondering if he is “over the target”.
What you mean “what MOST people hear.”
By revenue, by viewership and by poll results you are incorrect.
Actually, “most” people no longer are relying on MSM for their news/info, any more.
You are still in “old thinking” mode, of 1 1/2-2 1/2 YEARS ago, get with the program, and recognise the reality that the Rebel alliance of MAGA media is kicking MSM’s ass.
You are almost always “on the money.” However, living in southern Maine and having roots in Massachusetts, I believe you are too optimistic here.
Sadly but true, there are numerous citizens who ABSOLUTELY refuse to click on the FNC, out of “principal” to their Uni/Dem party. Yes, I have witnessed this at a dinner at my cousin’s house.
Statista says Hannity gets 2.16M viewers per episode in July of 2023, while Sportskeeda reports ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast gets 11M viewers per episode.
Source https://www.statista.com/statistics/682131/cable-news-program-viewership-usa/
Source: https://www.sportskeeda.com/mma/news-what-joe-rogan-s-viewership-numbers
There are many more viewership statistics sources but these are the first two that I found and together they appear to refute any theory of majority network TV news viewership.
And this is even more telling about what sources Americans choose to get their news:
https://www.pewresearch.org/journalism/fact-sheet/news-platform-fact-sheet/
Plus, what those numbers don’t really reflect are the “active” listeners. When one throws a podcast on, most actually listen to the conversation. How many people just have there TV’s tuned to whatever corporate propaganda of there choosing, not actually paying attention to what is being discussed?
Right on. Tucker would be the one to do it best. He would garner much more respect than Hannity. I really cannot grasp why Mike Johnson would sit with Hannity. Really, I cannot understand it. A major disappointment to me.
The way I look at it is that people seldom remember what you say but they remember your character. The entertainment industry is built on “character” both good and bad.
I didn’t watch Hannity because of his character.
Mike is in the opposition’s camp, speaking his piece. I don’t have a problem with that. Let’s see if he can connect with some of those who aren’t MAGA.
Also, as speaker he needs to deal with demoncrats. This Hannity business lets him test run some narratives.
I think one reason SOME go with hannity; he would lose any battle of wits, with a bag of rocks.
Hence, there is no real danger of a “gotcha” question, as hannity is simply too dumb to lay any traps, except perhaps for himself.
So, he is SO Stupid, that he is very SAFE.
Don’t all the rinos love going on Hannity? They always have. Trump needs to quit talking to Hannity too.
Maybe because Republicans think it’s still 2002.
Joe Rogan, or yeah Tucker or even Jimmy Dore.
Someone who understands their role as interviewer is to be a surrogate for their audience; to ask the questions the audience wants answered, pressthe guest if they are evasive, and otherwise be in the background, letting the guest be the focus.
True. Plus, we need to realize that managing to function successfully in a snake pit like the House might not be as easy as we think. It’s important not to get on the establishment’s bad side right off the bat. Not that he was necessarily duplicitous in such an interview, but that we cannot predict what will happen at critical points down the road. I look at Georgia Meloni and see how it’s done, how to work under monsters and not lose your head. You say, for example, that you support the Ukraine war effort and then send some old rust-bucket tanks as a contribution. Liz Truss tried a more reasonable but contrary approach and the unelected EU powers took her out in a month.
Meanwhile Giorgia Meloni is doing good things for the people. Taxes, for example.
Exactly what I was thinking. Hannity is awful but everyone else in the MSM is probably worse, often a lot worse. Johnson feels he needs exposure since he is relatively obscure. I don’t know the size 0f Hannity’s audience these days but it must be substantial.
Yes, I get it. But still in my opinion, not being on Hannity is a strength of character that I would like to see. Also not being on the others is desired. But Speaker Johnson can hold his own in a debate. I would rather he digs massive holes for the brains of the “main stream media” the be on Hannity. More respect for that.
Tucker
How about War Room with Steve Bannon. Dan Bongino just to name two. Keep going to the deep states hit press and you will continue to get the same results. Besides, who would watch that windbag Hannity?
People do watch Hannity. That is reality. We need to recognize it and use it where and when needed.
TUCKER CARLSON, he will ask the tough questions, like now exactly when are you going to start on this? After Christmas? They stalled long enough to just work for a few weeks until Thanksgiving.
https://bit.ly/3FBp3DY
I think we need to remember that reasonable people disagree on many issues. This is why we have a Republic. I disagree with Johnson’s take on a couple of issues because, thanks to Sundance’s focus on finding the truth, I am ahead of Johnson on the learning curve. I am only watching for one thing from Johnson and that is, when Johnson is confronted with evidence of the truth, how will he try to handle it. Beyond that, Johnson is as untested as a House Speaker can get, but so was Trump as President when he walked in to the Oval Office.
Time will tell if Johnson does a credible job, or if he fails to rise to the occasion. At least I am sure Johnson is a better deal than we got with McCarthy. So, for now, I am still wallowing in our little victory in the House of Representatives.
He also has allies like Gaetz and Jordan who I’m sure will be more than willing to offer advice on potential political pitfalls and insights on how the uniparty will come at him and his legislation / committees. He has a solid foundation under him if he can listen.
Jordans a putz. Gaetz the verdict is still out, as how Johnson actually performs will inevitably reflect on Gaetz; if MJ turns out to be substantively no better than KM, that Gaetz is exposed as another stage director in Kabuki theater, the show that never ends.
If, on the other hand MJ is championed by MAGA, for what he accomplishes, Gaetz will get a lot of the credit.
lets see what happens,…
Calm down mr dutchman. Give mj a chance. Quick impressions are not reliable in the arena of politics.
There are reasons the swamp critters voted for Johnson. I doubt they are reasons that benefit citizens.
Exactly. We don’t just need a new speaker of the house, we need a “murder weapon” who’ll destroy Democrats. Johnson ain’t it, from what I’ve seen. Hope I’m wrong. “Better than McCarthy” won’t save America. I honestly don’t get why people here are so enamored with this guy. Again, I hope I’m wrong.
I am not enamored with Johnson. But I will support him because, if he is the real deal, he will need all the support from MAGA that he can get. And, if Trump wins, he will need an ally in the Speaker’s chair. If Johnson fails, it will still have been a good effort to improve the situation we had with McCarthy. Enamored might not have been a good word to use in your comment.
The first big thing is money for Israel.
All you need to know.
The American political class is captured.
I don’t look at the vehicle, I look at the results. This interview was a good one by Hannity. Yea, he can be insufferable but he asked REAL questions and for that I am grateful.
Well, we have a speaker that INVOKES GOD, PRAYER and the BIBLE! WoW! Someone with a moral compass in Washington DC….. WoW….. fn……. WoW!
I cannot stomach Hannity so it has been a long time since he asked “real questions” in my opinion. Hannity likes to talk about himself. But if he asked real questions, were there real answers? I will not watch the clip because I really have difficulty handling Hannity. But I am searching here for any indication of strength of responses (if Hannity even let him answer. I still wish Mike Johnson would get into the smoke pits and show the strength we want to see.
snake pit (spell check!!!!)
Oh there’s definitely some smoke down there too. Smells like sulfur.
Catturd has had enough
I am with Catturd.
Cat turds are hard to clean out of the damned litter box, so I am predisposed to disliking Catturd’s opinions.
“Catturd has had enough”
Catturd always complains about both the parties.
This gives her more followers.
She brags about how many followers she has.
That’s her motive.
…..MONEY…
With the right Twitter monetization strategies,
you can earn income with as few as 50 followers
or as many as 100,000.
“This gives her more followers.”
I’m pretty sure Catturd’s a dude.
I know that I have been fooled in the past, but I am exceptionally impressed by this man. He is literally ticking all of our boxes. And as a matter of record to date, he is pro-Trump, pro-MAGA, pro-LIFE, and seems to have a steady grasp on the challenges and struggles that our country and the world is facing. To expect this man to come in and start throwing the furniture around 48 hours in is not fair.
I find him very Reagenesque in that he is able to come across as reasonable and amiable and use that ability to bring sides together, while still remaining focused on the biggest goals on the table, which is the strength and sovereignty of our republic and the freedom of its citizens. I liked his quote on Reagan about I’d rather get 80% of what I want then jump off a cliff waiving a flag. Notice it isn’t 50%. It’s not 20%. It’s 80%, which is reasonable in a democratic republic like ours.
I also love the way he has confidence that God is not done with our nation. God still has a plan for us. He wouldn’t have given us this and provided for this without a reason. I pray that God continues to guide this man’s hand in dealing with a volatile group in congress and can create a path toward American exceptionalism once again. We will see.
P.S. As the adoptive mother of a black child I have a special place in my heart for him. And it is different for black people out there. It isn’t what they are saying it is for sure. But only a parent of a black child and a white child(ren) like us (I have two adopted white kids too) can actually see the difference in real-time and I would imagine the difference for a black teenage boy and white teenage boy is even greater. So my daughter, who is an exceptionally beautiful (not bragging – she has serious Hollywood star looks) and bright and personable and has a beautiful smile and presents herself to the world as the exceptional young lady she is. Well dressed, well coiffed and well spoken. My husband had worked part time on the weekends and hung out at our local neighborhood bar/pizza place for a couple of years. When my daughter turned 16, she wanted a job and my husband spoke to the manager who told him he was desperate for hostesses and to send her in right away. My daughter was super excited, got ready for the interview and went in and introduced herself to the man. Mind you, he had never MET her before. He looked her straight in the eye and told her that he was sorry, but they were not hiring. Seriously. So yeah, tell me her race had nothing to do with that. She went and got another job. My husband stopped working there and we never visited again and that was the end of that.
“To expect him to start throwing the furniture around in 48 hours isn’t fair.”
For Speaker Johnson to receive the vote by acclamation is a testimony to the fact he doesn’t throw furniture. It’s a southern way of problem solving.
The first time someone not from the south hears the phrase,”You’re so sweet!” they don’t understand that it’s a rebuke not an acclamation. It literally means we are not doing that, but I am not going to confront you to your face.
My grandfather was born in 1890 in south Georgia. He set me down when I was 13 and told me why he didn’t do a frontal assault to confront a problem. When there are union representatives running things you have to work to change things before the authorities can say no.
A Southern Man with community authority works to destabilize the ground underneath an opponent. It necessitates a reaching out that gets stuff done.
When SMJ thanked Kevin McCarthy for all he had (past tense) done it was the same as a “your so sweet” from a southern woman. He was saying out loud, “we aren’t doing that anymore.”
Call it Shifting Sands or Southern Comfort, but Speaker Mike Johnson is a black swan that the uniparty won’t know how to deal with..
Yep, like “Bless your heart” ;).
Don’t forget “bless your heart” another Southern way of saying “you are full of crap”.
You are making excuses, “And it is different for black people out there.”
Actually, I believe it is YOU who are making excuses for a clearly racist person. And yes. It is different in many respects. Not always harder, but the difference is there. That said, what excuse did I make? My daughter went and found another job the very next day and worked there until she left for college.
Here’s that confusion AGAIN when folks (seemingly) with an education (though, I prefer the word “learning”) say their piece when posting on TCTH… and use the word “then” instead of the CORRECT word “THAN”… because, in this post, it states that one wishes to jump.
” I’d rather get 80% of what I want then jump off a cliff”
I’m quite educated, yet still fall victim to the occasional typo. Sue me.
just watch FlashPoint from the other night. Dutch Sheets, John Graves, Eric Metaxas all testified that he is a good man for the position having been heavily involved with Alliance Defending Freedom prior to being elected. I hate his stand on $ for despots that criminalize Christian churches and prosecuting Christians. Guess we will see what he is really made of now.
Maybe it’s a clever ploy by Johnson. He gets to let Hannity make a jackass of himself and do all the talking, per usual. Then he can claim plausible deniability and blame Hannity’s big yap.
Did I overthink this?
“Did I overthink this?”
I don’t think you thought it all.
You’re parrating what others are saying and you never watch the interview.
I watched it while I was doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen this morning.
It was a great 45 minutes. There was no drama, just the facts.
Can’t watch. But I did read a fox article earlier.
He’s right out of the gate spending more money than Biden asked for on Israel but wants cuts to pay for Israel’s war. So what I want to know is what is he planning to cut?
I think all countries should have to pay for their own wars but especially wealthy countries. As long as hes keeping the grift alive he’s not really MAGA.
What has he offered MAGA? Is he releasing J6 video? I know it’s a crazy question but what is he doing for America? Anything?
I prefer an essay question where we read the answer without some egomaniac paraphrasing and editorializing the answers.
Mike Johnson has not been ashamed to say that his world view is a world view grounded in the plain teaching of the Bible.
If Sundance is honest, he will hold him to that standard and not first loyalty to a spouse or family or community or country
– important as these loyalties are but all need to be subject to the primary loyalty and faithfulness to the eternal and sovereign Creator God.
Neither was Mike Pence. Just sayin’.
Sadly both in his actions and words Mike Pence has revealed a lack of what the Bible speaks of as discernment.
If Mike Johnson keeps the Scriptures as his guide and depends on God to lead him he should act wisely. Hopefully he will recognize that the US is not called to be a city on a hill and light to the world – that is the task of Christian believers and communities of devout believers meeting and worshipping and serving God in their various countries.
So now we’re off the rails into Mike Pence. The only thing they share is a first name. I don’t believe Pence is a Christian or a Conservative.
Let’s focus on Speaker Johnson, a good and decenr man. I have confidence in him. I am not a pushover, but I will never lower myself into the cynical hostility one sees on forums.
Jesus was clear about how we should assess people: each tree is known by its own fruit. However, we also know that Christians are not without sin and do things contrary to their profession of faith.
Israel’s greatest king, David, did terrible things but he recognized this and repented of these. Some people like Daniel, despite serving the most wicked kings in Babylon, remained faithful to God. We must pray that Mike Johnson will follow his example, whatever the consequences.
How about a “call” for The Golden Rule? There has always been, and will (if we want ‘Honesty) always be… conflict between religions. Try a study of Human History.
First notice the actual words of Jesus in Matthew 7:12
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”
(i.e. the teaching of the first five books of the Scriptures and the books of the prophets)
Second notice these words, part of the teachings of Jesus in what is called the Sermon on the Mount, are addressed to his followers.
Third notice the stark contrast between the teachings of Jesus and that of the various religions including Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Even the world’s best known Hindu, Mahatma Gandhi, said of Jesus “he was one of the greatest teachers humanity has ever had” but was selective and refused to accept extraordinary claims Jesus made about himself.
Fourth notice that salvation for a Christian is not achieved by keeping rules or commandments but by believing the teachings and claims of Jesus and then as a follower striving to live a life of obedience out of gratitude.
As a keen student of both the Christian Scriptures and Human History for over 50 years, I have found the the Scriptures help me understand human nature and conflicts rather than history human nature and conflicts.
Billie bob… yes, however, i consider one to be a fake and the other authentic… you decide which one
It doesn’t really matter who the Speaker is because they will all be controlled by the same people who controlled the previous speakers. He is nothing more than a figurehead. The whole congress is corrupt.
Dixie Girl, I think you’ve got it figured out.
“the Speaker is because they will all be controlled by the same people who controlled the previous speakers.”
….WRONG…!!
.1. He is from a genuinely conservative district.
(he is NOT a California Republican like McCarthy).
2. He wanted Pelosi arrested after her disgusting stunt at Trump’s State of the Union.
3. Bill Kristol gives him an “F-” on American involvement in Ukraine.
4. He thinks there was substantial voter fraud in the 2020 election.
You must be new here.
When Tucker left, I left. And Hannity’s only strength was getting very good guests or contributors. Then he talks over them. I cannot stomach Hannity anymore. In my opinion, not being with Hannity is a plus. I did not know that Hannity had an audience at all. I used to like Laura Ingraam. But she talks over her guests and contributors too. Really! How does Hannity get the first interview with Speaker johnson? Really.
Mike Johnson praised Hannity’s good questions.
Hannity Had long questions but he did not interrupt and let Johnson talk.
Hannity did a good job of ripping the Democrats and our justice system.
Mike Johnson was great.
His answer about his adopted black son and how it’s harder in America for a black child to grow up was right on..
I could never understand why people criticize Mike Johnson for saying that, it’s the truth.
Yes, the first thing out of his mouth is that he intends to continue funding Ukraine. That is his top priority? Really? Looks and smells like another pile of cat feces.
Then hes keeping the grift alive. Okay, I’m done. I hate the guy.
” Okay, I’m done. I hate the guy.”
I believe you.
“He intends to continue funding Ukraine.”
…wrong..
He wants to know where the money’s going before we give more money.
That’s the poison pill for money to Ukraine.
I guess you’ve missed that part of the interview.
perzactly.
LISTENING is a lost art, so is READING.
Hold on, ..
He said before we agree to more funding for Ukraine, we have some reasonable requests/demands/conditions.
FIRST, give us a detailed accounting of WHERE the first $60-90 BILLION went, THEN we will talk about additional funding.
Does ANYONE here believe TPTB can comply with this reasonable, logical and “fair” request?
And, when they CAN’T, THEN you have set them up for “You CAN NOT tell us, and show us WHERE that $ went, and yet you want MORE? WTF?”
Additional gets could well include “WHAT exactly is the end game, here? Whats the goal, and whats the plan for how to achieve it?”
Force them to admit/deny that it is NOT about “saving Democracy” it is about Regime change in Russia, and has FAILED.
If what you say is so, then I will stand moderately corrected. I have just gotten so tired of Hannity that the end I ended up yelling at the TV telling him to shut up!!. He never did. As a result, I could get no substance from his guests. If what you have stated is true, then it warrants a more nuanced look. I still will not watch anything with Hannity, though. So perhaps I have missed some things, but also I needed to keep my sanity in check as well.
The first place he goes is Hannity, thus, business as usual. I expected no different.
A colleague remarked about a meeting where the idea was floated that the company should use it’s lobbying power to affect the Medicaid unwinding. I replied that we had better start lobbying to keep Medicare insurance funded, because if it comes down to the DoD and foreign aid versus Medicare and Medicaid in the budget, you can bet there will be state backed euthanasia in this country in no time.
Mike Johnson is going to have to use every ounce of leverage he can against this out of control spending, and go after the border. If these committees investigating the administration are just going to produce sound bites and clips under his leadership, then he needs to figure out how much that will really translate into ballots and allocate the minimum resources required.
I wish much from Speaker Johnson, but expect very little.
“I wish much from Speaker Johnson, but expect very little.”
Ditto. I feel the same. He could gain support of the entire MAGA by releasing the J6 tapes immediately. But he won’t. That would take real guts. Trust me on this.
You should start asking your local GOP leaders why they continue to “Go Along to Get Along?”
I hear more and more around the state where even REC Committee people are blindly parroting the ideas about “banking your vote.”
Do they really think that voting early or by mail is going to fix the issue? What logic is their to this solution?
What really is happening is the GOP wants to cover the fraud by commingling real ballots with fake ones.
The more in advance you signal your intention to vote, the more time they have to steal/counter your vote.
Well, nows your chance to prove yourself Mike Johnson. tick tock
Hey MP I absolutely agree that as the AG of Texas said,”The integrity of elections is the only issue. Once one side can steal an election we are no longer a republic.”
I’m in Colorado, election fraud central. People flipped out when Pima county in AZ had an 87% participation rate. The entire state of Colorado was at 87% in 2020. 24% over the historical average and 13% over 2016. The 13% is what was necessary for Joe Biden to have a 300k win margin.
The RINOs defeated Tina Peters with a third slot on her election to split her overwhelming support. She is under house arrest because the Uniparty (R) wanted her gone.
I’m trying to do my best impression of Betsy here. Do you see Mike Johnson as a member of the Uniparty, even when he defended PDJT against impeachment for J6?
My understanding of most election integrity issues fall into our local community. If Mitten’s niece won’t send paid attorneys to the 2,000 contested districts. Do we give up? Do we fill the gap?
The Uniparty has almost unlimited funds aimed at stealing elections. We have to combat that with hard headed mules..
Has Mike or anyone else in Congress done anything to address the new normal electile dysfunction since the stolen election of 2020? It looks like distraction now primarily in the form of manufactured WAR is the plan to end MAGA once and for all in 2024.
We have innocent American citizens being tortured by a illegitimate regime and all they want to mainly focus our attention on is manufactured foreign war. Wars that would not even exist if elections weren’t rigged.
We are getting played.
Congress was the place that followed the Uniparty line on J6 and called for the insurrectionists to be shot. But some of the best confrontations have come from SMJ on the weaponization committee. I believe that the Speaker is soldiering his resources to make a difference. One advantage of not outlining where the attack will come is the Uniparty doesn’t know where to set their defenses.
We are in a war as SD has outlined over and over. We have to be the disrupters vs planners with billions to spend on implementing their plans in innumerable binders (how do we find the documentation?).
You and I are one of those soldiers, one of those hardheaded mules.I’ve seen this approach work. Let’s give him a little room..
Not sure if it is intentional or not, but the Speaker kind of looks like a dweeb in the picture….lol…
Eatch the video, he reminds me of Kevin Klien, in “Dave”.
Could be worse, Peter sellers in “Being there” he’s not.
I’m hearing “More Ukraine”
Your not listening.
And, since this has been pointed out several times, not reading, either.
But hey,…prattle on.
So, after almost a day, I steeled myself, gor the puke bucket at the ready, and actually WATCHED the whole interview.
Hannity wasn’t as bad as I anticipated, perhaps because my expectations had me prepared, so not saying he wasn’t horrible, just not as bad as I was expecting.
This was my first time with Johnson, and not impressed, one way or the other.
Still waiting for actions, and not all that enthused, based on this interview.
I like the concept of linking any new $ to Ukraine, on accountability for whats already been sent, because there is NO WAY they can comply, hence its an acceptable way to sound reasonable, while denying any $.
Devils in the details…
“I like the concept of linking any NEW $ TO UKRAINE, on accountability for what’s already been sent, because there is NO way they can comply..” (emphasis mine).
Does the “accountability for what’s already been sent” happen to include Israel funding, as well? Isn’t Israel where the “new $” is going?
Because if not, we are spinning our wheels. I contend that WWIII is WWIII, no matter where the UNiparty happens to fund it at the moment. The ENEmedia will gladly have us glued to the rear view mirror that is Ukraine, while they *continue* looting pillaging for WWIII in a different arena.
The “devil” is, indeed, in the “details.” I am almost as sick of their smoke and mirrors as I am of funding their senseless wars.
I liked everything he said. Unfortunately, I wish I had known he’s joined forces with Convention of States promoter, Mark Meckler, who is funded by the Koch organizations. Mike was instrumental in getting Louisiana to call for a constitutional convention. As such, I am saddened.
With all of us who have spent tons of money since the late 70s, faxing and writing to state legislatures up until we had the internet, this is an abomination. Johnson has just lost a ton of support, but of course the entire bunch of Republican neo-con Trotskyites will support him if this is true, which it looks as though it is. Once Meckler and the Koch orgs get their way, this country will destroy the God given freedoms our founders gave us. Meckler’s Council on Foreign Relations board member, Robert George, who is also tied to the UN, has already rewritten the Second Amendment.
Johnson cannot be a true constitutional attorney and want this evil. One look at Article V proves Meckler is a liar. No convention can be opened, called or convened and bypass Congress. But Meckler’s CoS tells us they can! Only if they stomp on the constitution to do so.
The Constitution is the lynchpin that is holding what little we have left together. Should they succeed in gaining a convention, there are several horrible constitutions waiting in the wings, including one written by communists.
God help us, I surely hope he doesn’t convince other members of Congress that this is a great idea, because it would be the final death knell and as is, we’re hanging by a thread.
The RINOS are certainly not going to like him and what he tries to accomplish.
Because of this, I was amazed that each and every one voted for him, rather than stall until another uniparty Republican or even a Democrat could be elected speaker Were they afraid of public exposure and being primaried next election cycle?
Yep – he got voted in, to easy. If he can’t work at his job, he should go on Tucker instead of Hannity, while he is goofing off. Not good.
I pray Mike Johnson has some good friends and supporters who will advise him that Sean Hannity is a paid and bought for shill at FNC. Hannity has no alliance to MAGA and never did. Please, people, awaken the citizens: Hannity is a shill.
If he needs to be told this about Hannity, there is no hope for him.
Hey Sundance stop doing the Jack Posobeic imitation!!! He, Johnson, has been Speaker for about four days, let’s see what his actions look like in a couple of months or so!!! I respect you but also know that you and Posobeic fell for the RFK Jr narrative of him hurting President Trump by turning into Ross Perot only to have Rich Barris and a couple of other legitimate pollsters debunk much of that!!!🤔
hannity has always been an empty vessel, I wouldn’t dignify this nonsense with an intelligible response…
Johnson is taking his “impartial” make friends with the “Democrat” Reps. Speaker role too far. I hope he is just going through the motions and fully realizes how cutthroat the opposition is. Some take no quarter and will ruin innocent lives without a hint of regret.
The same goes for the pressure voting RINO’s that are looking for any excuse to shove him aside and/or ruin him.
I do not see Speaker Johnson taking marching orders from Hot Air Hannity and I am not going to judge him because he sat down with Hannity for an interview. After all President Trump has done plenty of interviews with Hannity and his values are still intact.
IMHO we need to stop being so cynical about everything and give this man a chance. I get the cynical part, I believe the last few decades have got us that way and we do not know how to act any other way.
Its only been a couple of weeks since folks on here were doubting Jim Jordan and I asked the question ” if not Jim Jordan than who ?” Well it seems God himself answered that question for us so lets roll with it.
Look at the bright side of things . Pelosi lost her office, McCarthy is out, we did not get Emmer and we did get someone who appears to share our values and assessment of things.
Besides all that we have bigger fish to fry like railing against mass mail in voting / drop off boxes and getting President Trump back in the White House were he belongs.
LETS DO THIS !!!
I finally got around to listening to the interview and I thought it was pretty good. He is plain spoken about things. So we will see where it goes. I like that he is strong on the 10th amendment and state’s rights.
One thing stood out right away.
Years ago I was reading through some of our Founding Fathers’ documents and I noticed that they did not talk about “compromise”. They talked about “consensus”.
There is a huge difference in policy results between those two processes.
Early on in the interview Speaker Johnson was asked about how you work with a group who stands on a totally opposite philosophy. He didn’t use the word “compromise” once. He talked about building a “consensus” on issues.
I am cautiously optimistic, knowing I will not agree with him on everything.
Let’s see where it goes.
Thank you!
That was most informative.
Cheers!
Same ole same ole…….why these guys continue to interview with Sean is beyond me!!! For me it’s about action not words, he appears to be truthful but don’t know and I refuse to jump in and defend this person. I know Louisiana politics is just as rotten as other States. I spent time there and many payoffs occurred. Watching but I don’t feel it’s ends here!
