There are 12 Democrats and 19 Republicans in the Texas Senate. The majority of the article votes were 16 to 14 in favor of acquittal [SEE HERE].
As reflected throughout the impeachment trial, the majority of the accusations came from establishment “Bush” Republicans in Texas who hold tenuous power over the state Republican apparatus. All of the Democrats in the Texas Senate were more than willing to support the backroom Republican effort. However, attorney Tony Buzbee did a masterful job deconstructing the rumors and innuendo that surrounded the majority of the allegations.
By the end of the two week impeachment trial, the Republicans in Texas were too exposed to maintain their original intent to remove Paxton. The truth overwhelmed the false GOPe narrative, and that created a problem for the Texas Republicans who are, for all intents and purposes, identical to Texas Democrats. This is one of the reasons why national Democrats are so confident they can turn Texas blue in a short period of time.
Remember, Democrats want power – Republicans want money. The events in Texas are a case study in this dynamic. Most of the Texas Republicans don’t care what happens ideologically, as long as they can be compensated for allowing the Democrats to dictate the state outcomes of political power. There is an awakening happening in Texas amid the base voters who continue to elect professional Republicans; however, it is unknown whether the uniparty dynamic has become too systemic to change.
Personally, after visiting several areas of Texas, I do not see much hope for them to remain a reliably red state. The only thing that might save Texas are the conservative Latinos who don’t want the social issues that accompany Democrat control. The non minority, or white Republican voters in Texas, have been gaslit by the Republican political class (Bush Inc.) for so long, they cannot see what is looming over the horizon.
The truth doesn’t care about your feelings. What I described is the reality in Texas, and it’s exactly the reason why I continue to warn residents of Florida about following the agenda of the DeSantis tribe.
Ken Paxton was interviewed by Tucker Carlson this week and will broadcast next week.
TEXAS – The Texas Senate voted to acquit Ken Paxton on all 16 articles of impeachment. A total of 21 senators had to approve at least one article for Paxton to be convicted and removed from office. Separately, senators also voted to dismiss four other articles that Paxton faced.
Paxton’s wife, Sen. Angela Paxton, was allowed to be present but could not vote on his fate or attend deliberations. (vote tally)
WASHINGTON – […] Immediately after Paxton was acquitted on the 16 articles, members of the chamber successfully voted to dismiss four remaining articles of impeachment that were held back to be considered at the end of the trial.
Paxton also faces a federal investigation, a state bar complaint for seeking to overturn the 2020 presidential election and a whistleblower lawsuit.
Paxton was suspended as attorney general in May, when the state’s Republican majority House of Representatives voted to impeach him over allegations he commandeered the state’s law-enforcement powers to help a donor facing federal investigation. The donor, real-estate investor Nate Paul, is alleged to have helped pay for Paxton’s home renovations and facilitate an extramarital affair. Neither Paul nor Laura Olson, the alleged mistress of Paxton, testified at the trial.
In a statement, Paxton said the truth prevailed on Saturday and thanked state senators for their votes.
“Most importantly, I want to thank my amazing wife Angela, who I love dearly,” Paxton said. “She is a brave woman of deep faith, unquestionable integrity, and the light of our entire family.” Angela Paxton is a Republican senator who has been present during the trial but couldn’t vote under the Senate impeachment rules. Here’s the question nobody is asking:
What was @KenPaxtonTX
investigating that made the Bush Family and its GOP establishment cronies in TX suddenly LEAP TO IMPEACH HIM?

I always found it very suspicious that he gave the election fraud speech at a Heritage event the end of April 2023 and about a month later he was facing impeachment.
Thanks for those links, guys.
Yes! I did not know about this (from the first link in the thread reader):
Texas is one of the few states where blocking the view or limiting the movements of poll watchers — partisan volunteers who monitor election sites — can bring criminal penalties.
All the swing and even mildly vibrating states need this law.
It was his connection to President Trump..
Hence the Fed charges
This is not the end
Correct. It’s not over yet. Jack Smith and a DC jury will probably get involved before it’s over. We’ve reached a ridiculous point.
Guest on Bannon’s show thinks Paxton will be indicted, his lawsuit (refused by Bloody John) “incited”

Sadly, you are correct. The DOJ will attempt to finish the job the Texas legislators could not complete.
Do not underestimate the anger that Jebbie’s boy lost to Paxton in Texas.
Go, Ken!
And…..
You ain’t gone, Bushies?
This is what I would like to ask The Bush Family:
How can we miss you if you won’t leave?
The most logical answer would appear to be “don’t miss”.
You been listening to Dan Hicks and the Hot licks, apparently.
Outing the odious Bush family is the second best of the outcomes of this farce, after getting Paxton back where he was elected to be.
They are elitist garbage who scavenged their way into privilege during the original oil boom as Cleveland based financiers. Never once has any of those fakers actually created their own successful business, and they look at all of us as trash. Prescott Bush had no issue dillydallying with the Nazis, got his ass reamed for it and just like that little George was sent to pilot school to lose planes and colleagues for us in the Pacific (and not fight the Germans of course). Only the Bushes and Kennedy’s could be crowned as hero’s after their despicable fathers were OK having us stay out of the fight against Hitler.
it should shock no one that GHW Bush undercut Reagan and made such a mess of the great legacy he inherited and had nothing to do with creating. Thankfully Reagan was as tough as he was and overcame the shooting by the rather mysterious and DC based Hinckley – another coincidence I’m sure. Bush 41 spent 4 years with his thumb up his rectum, raising taxes, writing thank you notes, and barfing on Japanese PMs and more so on us riff raff. And he was still more successful than his dog poop son Bush 43 whose legacy was facilitating the IC and getting Soetoro elected.
Theirs are the archaic value of the prep school playground, MAGA carries the future with us, they will be relegated to the dustbin of history as failures, just like Pierce.
“During the original oil boom as Cleveland based financiers”
Whoo. That one hit me like a brick. Would like to know the timeline on that one.
Read an interesting book a few months ago, about the Beverly Hills Supper Club
fire. Happened in 1977 in a mobbed up area across the river from Cincinnati. 165
died in the fire.
Much of the book was about how the Cleveland mob muscled into all the rackets
that went on across the river from the 20s until the 80s. It seems that northern
Kentucky was Las Vegas before Las Vegas. And….. the Cleveland mob went further
west once Las Vegas was getting set up.
Interesting that the Bushes would be “Cleveland based financiers”. Especially
considering what else was going on in Cleveland at the time. Everything you’ve
heard about mobbed up Vegas had it’s origins from Cleveland.
You forgot to mention Prescott Bush bragged about desecrating an American Indian’s grave in Oklahoma for the skull and bones his scumbag fraternity still has.
Or that he was the treasurer for Planned Parenthood for Margaret Sanger after WWII.
Bushes fuel the fires of Hell. Eff all of them!
Republicans = DNC Infiltrated Sappers. Wake the F up Texas voters.
I am actually surprised Texas hasn’t turned blue yet based on the demographic change and growing secularization. Supposedly, Texas gets an influx of conservative refugees from California and other blue states, which have kept the state red. The suburb I grew up in changed from conservative Christian whites to social justice warrior atheist whites. You will see a lot of Beto and BLM signs in the front yard, whereas in the past, you would see Reagan or Bush signs. Also, America is mainly importing legal immigrants from third-world socialist nations whose primary religion is either Buddhism or Hinduism. They vote for Democrats by a wide margin too. America hardly imports European Christians who would be more in tune with our foundational beliefs. Add in illegal immigrations from the south, and I don’t see a chance for Texas and America to survive. For decades, I could not understand why Republicans would open the border and mass import H1-B tech workers, eventually leading to its demise. Oh well, at least I won’t have to deal with the Establishment, so not all is lost.
Just Austin.
Finally some good news. Am very happy for Paxton.
Merely another witch hunt of anti-establishment.
By the way, Texans voted for Paxton over Bush, 68-32. We may have been sleepwalking for decades, but keep in mind, the main fight between Republicans and Democrats were over tax cuts for a long time. The RINOs picked the fight when they impeached Paxton. I was perfectly content when the RINOs and conservatives passed some good bills. I always like the path of least resistance. Everything changed when they impeached AG Paxton.
re: 68%-32%
The Impeachment Scam is the same as Real President Trump’s–and so are the real vote percentages.
It’s about President Trump, not the bushes
To a degree. But the Bushes hate Trump and still exert some waning influence
It wasn’t just the bushes that wanted Paxton removed it was the biden regime also.
Gov Abbott
“The jury has spoken. Attorney General Paxton received a fair trial as required by the Texas Constitution.
Attorney General Paxton has done an outstanding job representing Texas, especially pushing back against the Biden Administration.
I look forward to continuing to work with him to secure the border and protect Texas from federal overreach.”
Abbott can just wheel himself straight into hades.
Abbott was behind this too don’t let the pretty words fool you
I’ve been saying Texas was fake and could flip democrat for years. Everyone thought I was crazy.
But, in my analysis, I couldn’t name one decent GOP politician that served at the federal level.

we must realize that there was no way paxton was going to be allowed to continue..he’s running for governor. THAT FREAKS OUT THE ESTABLISHMENT INSTITUTIONAL POLITICOS. But there are things far worse for these corruptors than someone like a MAGA candidate getting elected to Governor…
what is that you say? being on the wrong side of the financial grifting.
trust me when I say this…every single one of these senate members will over time EMBRACE THE PAXTON. They will all follow devote themselves “to the cause”.
this IS EXACTLY what happened with President Trump was running in 2016 and then was impeached twice (falsely, wrongfully)…while in office, President Trump made it his purpose to identify scoundrels and call them out by name. This continues after the steal and continues today. President Trump is responsible for at least one dozen new elected leaders ! And specifically, crushing people like liz cheney!
MAGA HAS THAT EFFECT! It’s not just rhetoric. It’s not just wheeling and dealing in the same old institutional smoke filled back corners. MAGA is all about the sunlight.
Paxton is going to do very well going forward. I support him. I will never trust the texas state assembly for even allowing this charade. These people need to be excised out of office, like a tumor…a lifeless abomination that is only sucking blood out of a red state culture and shifting it in to sewer blue.
God Bless America

Phelan says he won’t stand down, to the contrary, he will launch investigations into those who voted for Acquittal. Texas Republican Party will stand behind him. Johnny Sutton will support him too.
Truly, we are on a fast slope of destruction now …. only God can save us, but this nation must repent first. I don’t see that happening, not on a big enough scale.
This drunken alcoholic clown is going to end up a corpse when they decide to get him all sauced up and give him the keys to the car and he ends up killing himself and HOPEFULLY NO INNOCENT PERSON!!!
The transition from red to blue is not organic, but planned.
Well, now… It looks like the truth is starting to come into the light down there in the Texas arena… Congratulations, AG Paxton, Mr. Buzbee and Mitch Little for scorching these weasels. Pause for a moment and enjoy this victory because the enemy is reloading. Lock and re-load and start moving forward to the next skirmish line…
Now that he can do his job, maybe some good can finally come to Texians.
Let’s hope this persecution woke (in a good way) up many Tejanos to the RINO problem they have.
I sure love me some ol’ Cap’n Tony Buzbee. Col. David Crockett is smilin’ somewhere up there above Texas right now.
One tough Marine Corps Cap’n is all that was needed to deal with that nest of venomous rattlesnakes in Austin, TX.
I highly recommend Cap’n Buzbee as President Trump’s Secretary of Defense in 2025. He won’t put up with any sissies or crybabies in the military. He knows what a fighting force needs to do.
Colonel MacGregor would also be a good fit. But Buzbee is one heck of a great lawyer
Sounds like Phelan wants to continue with lawfare pursuit (arse that he is)…
Who wrote that for you, Mr. Phelan?
I don’t see how you could stting a coherent sentence together, even on paper!
As I’m not familiar with TX law, is there a process in place that this drunk Phelan can be recalled?
Phelan sounded like Biden-unintelligible.

Lt Gov Patrick speaks with great truth and wisdom and decorum – the truth has no agenda. It’s time to set things right in TX! Crimes were committed in this hoax impeachment, the FBI was lied to.
Three cheers for Tony Buzbee. He is a Samson to the RINO Republican Philistines.
” they cannot see what is looming over the horizon.”
Bush Inc has blinded them with a blizzard of bullshit and big cash, of course, and though they failed miserably, this time, they ain’t going away any time soon!
Just think how much they’re pouring down the drain trying to lift “stone cold” Robbie D to double digits?
With generations of entitlements under their belts, they aren’t going anywhere.
US Senator Phil Graham of Texas was the godfather of the Texas Uniparty scam. He postured a professorial persona, but he schemingly broke down the barriers in investment banking in the late 90’s and is the sire of Blackwater’s thievery. He also facilitated the S&L Scandal starting in the mid 80’s, which begat the even bigger bankster bailouts that followed. Wall Street banksters own us now, and our government, with a security apparatus at their disposal. Ol’ Phil, soothing voice Phil, was the father of all this. They whispered to Reagan, and he did give them some bailouts. They scream at us today, because they no longer have to ask. 40+ years in the making, this is. And pure Texas has been captured along the way.
Don’t forget Lyndon Baine(of our existence)s Johnson.
Yup he was a stalwart LBJ Democrat until Ronald Reagan was elected in 1980 and re-elected in 1984 which turned the tide in Texas to red and old PHIL SAW THE LIGHT!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Talk about an “AHA Moment”!
I’d heard and basically understood the UniParty dynamic of Democrats/power and Republicans/money but Sundance drove it home for me finally with this explamation in this article…
“…Most of the (Texas) Republicans don’t care what happens ideologically, as long as they can be compensated for allowing the Democrats to dictate the state outcomes of political power…”
So, Republicans don’t care what Democrats do to destroy this Country, as long as they get paid for it
Sundance knows how to cut to the chase – that is the simplest yet most profound truth there is.
“Remember, Democrats want power – Republicans want money. ” true. but there are no poor Democrats in the halls of Congress either.
Does the TX House allow motions to vacate the chair (as Gates has threatened to do in US House)? If so, this would seem good time to dunk the drunk.
More than likely Paxton already has charges and indictments waiting for old Phelan!!! It won’t be pretty but this jackass asked for it and Paxton will deduct his pound of flesh from Phelan!!! 🤭
I would posit that the ONLY reason this turned out as it did is that it was played out in a public forum where the standard evil machinations, dirty deeds and backroom deals were not possible. This is not to minimize or detract from Mr. Buzbee’s performance which was outstanding.
About one month before AG Paxton was impeached he had announced launching an investigation into gain-of-function research and misrepresentations by covid-19 vaccine manufacturers. The Good Ol’ Boy network down there obviously didn’t like that and reacted harshly. I am VERY HAPPY that Paxton survived this political witch hunt.
The one thing that stands out to me is the difference between republicans and democrats, is all of the infighting republicans do.
Not just here but on a national level as well. They are so busy fighting each other, rather than being united, it’s no wonder democrats
have been taking them to the woodshed as has been pointed out by the autor.
The theory of power vs money makes a lot of sense and has become more evident to me. I shall continue to watch this trend.
It is not republican versus democrat. That is an illusion.
It is MAGA versus RINO republicans/commie democrat, aka the Uniparty.
MAGA IS A THREAT TO THEM.
The fighting is not between republicans. The fighting is between ALL OF THEM and MAGA.
If PDJT had decided to run as a MAGA democrat then I still would have voted for him. Then it still would have been Uniparty versus MAGA.
I have lived in Collin County Texas for well over 45 years and have participated in every election local to national during that time.
Sundance your comments about the voters electing questionable Republicans is unfair. I have witnessed how the current Bush-Rove cabal have sustained dominance over the TX-RNC for so long. It is essentially money spent to put forth a very large field of vote grabbing (dividing) candidates and assembling blocks of voters to bias the outcome.
The alternative, a 3rd Party hands the state to the democrats. The sad ironic truth of the matter is that state broke free of from Democrat Dominance in the 1990’s by rallying around the Bush-Rove cabal, which was a change from the fractured state of the TX-RNC at the time. There was even a glimmer of hope the TX-RNC would change course during Alan West’s very short tenure as TX-RNC lead …. but he was eliminated for not promoting GOPe candidates and for actually advancing folks oriented on serving the voters.
The way the voters have recently beaten GOPe is via local candidate supporting grass roots efforts that runs counter to the desires of the TX-RNC. That is the how Paxton won his primary and that is the manner that many local county and state level folks have been elected. A large enough grassroots block was assembled to overwhelm the GOPe assembled block.
So, do not be too quick to be overly of critical of the voters … instead encourage them and the grassroots efforts to counter the TX-RNC.
Your article does highlight the major counter growing in Texas, to grassroots efforts. The growing collaboration between TX-RNC and TX-DNC to fix outcomes and divide the spoils. The Area around Houston is a prime example of the types of people the alliance will produce …. e.g. Representative Dan Crenshaw.
pretty sure between 2008 and now, tea party to maga movement, there ARE NO EXCUSES FOR TEXANS TO BE CONFRONTED WITH LESSER OF TWO WEAVELS anymore.
and I AM speaking ALSO about Louisiana, my home state. No excuse.
Tea Party and MAGA NOW, changed all of that.
I can only suggest this: VOTING IS THE LEAST POWERFUL POLITICAL THING A HUMAN BEING CAN DO. That’s once every 1460 days assuming SOMEONE ELSE has put the work in and making decisions out of pathetic desperation. WHAT YOU DO IN THOSE 1460 days in between MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.
I agree with sundance (and you also). but clearly the answer is not repeating the same kind of assumptions expecting different results.
We have a champion: President Trump. He is showing us what is possible. How we can organize and rally and do real politics TOGETHER. This is his legacy, and it’s very important we retain this political capitol. and not waste it.
we need to be different going foward in every single way. no more institutional political parties. it’s maga, and small citizen donors getting represented all the way down. It’s just that simple.
these are solely my own opinions. your mileage may vary
God Bless America
Not so surprising. Austin, the capital, is so blue it cries.
It is not good news that The Swamp now extends into Texas.
Pat Buchanan was warning about the Rino Bushes & GOPe for decades. Looks like much of America finally reached the same conclusion
On Bush “Free Trade” policies, the Republican Party has signed off on economic treason.
Pat Buchanan— Where the Right Went Wrong
Justin Holland new Texas Republican House member
Voted with all Democrats to put the cull Phelan in as Speaker
Austin is a sick rats nest of sin and debauchery
Paxton doesn’t have the connections to the Repugs in the DC Swamp that the Bush’s have. I like his moxie, but i doubt he will get the Bush’s to leave Texas anytime soon. Only the people of Texas can chase that clan back to their carpetbagging origins.
Texans will right their ship. They should just go against anything that the California Swamp wants to do, and they will get it right 99% of the time.
As a life-long Texan, I’m glad Paxton survived this hit.
Certainly, he’s no saint. He made some very foolish decisions (like the affair), unforced errors that the Bush Clan could easily exploit.
In the eyes of the RINO’s, the Uniparty, Paxton committed unpardonable sins – 1) he was willing to investigate the 2020 election results in Texas, and prosecute obvious fraud; 2) he was willing to investigate the Covid-19 vaccine scam, calling question on the practices being mandated from Washington DC; and 3) perhaps the most unpardonable: Paxton is gearing up to run for Governor, but the Bush Clan wants their own boy George P. Bush (currently Railroad Commissioner) in the Governor’s mansion instead. Paxton refused to step aside for the Bushes.
Three strikes on the Bush Clan list, and thus the political hit was ordered.
While I’m happy justice did prevail, I think Texans need to get really wise, really quick, to the splinter/wedge politics the Bush Clan is using to destroy Texas politics and culture in the name of wealth. The RINO’s have absolutely NO conscience, and are as willing here in Texas to sell out to the Democrats as they are in Washington DC. These absolutely have no regard for genuine Conservative, Patriot, America First values or culture…except as their access to money depends on it.
Sundance summed it up nicely: The rank and file Republican doesn’t care about ideology, so long as they can collect their money. This thought really permeates down into the voting public within Texas to an alarming degree – people don’t really care much for politics, so long as their city gets “their fair share” of the federal and state largess. Many of these then flock to church.
Someone once wrote that in the Last Days, people would become lovers of money and pleasure rather than lovers of God and godly values. He wasn’t writing of faithful Christians, as I recall, but rather warning faithful Christians what we could become by forgetting Christ.
Yes, those words are very much fulfilled today, and our body politic unwittingly confesses this every day.
Praying for a real Awakening…
Ir’s a lot to ask Sundance, but can you compare this to Ted Stevens/ FBI using the same tricks. Looks like another play by the deepstate., using hearsay instead of hiding exculpatory facts.
SD: “By the end of the two week impeachment trial, the Republicans in Texas were too exposed to maintain their original intent to remove Paxton.”
Absolutely correct. The conviction was baked into the result prior to the beginning of the trial, but attorney Buzbee’s evisceration and humiliation of the prosecution’s witnesses forced several Republican senators to vote for acquittal for reasons of political self preservation. A different outcome would likely have resulted had a less brilliant attorney been in Paxton’s lead defense chair.
Have the Republican AGs said anything about this, or are they still hiding in the bushes?
“Hiding in the bushes”….see what I did there?
Buzbee did an awesome job!!!
I’m wondering at what point we call for the Texas AG to investigate the Republican Speaker of the state House. It goes against our nature, and frankly feels gross just thinking about it, but if it’s the only thing that will keep the Communists from overrunning the country, it might be time to fight fire with fire.
