There are 12 Democrats and 19 Republicans in the Texas Senate. The majority of the article votes were 16 to 14 in favor of acquittal [SEE HERE].
As reflected throughout the impeachment trial, the majority of the accusations came from establishment “Bush” Republicans in Texas who hold tenuous power over the state Republican apparatus. All of the Democrats in the Texas Senate were more than willing to support the backroom Republican effort. However, attorney Tony Buzbee did a masterful job deconstructing the rumors and innuendo that surrounded the majority of the allegations.
By the end of the two week impeachment trial, the Republicans in Texas were too exposed to maintain their original intent to remove Paxton. The truth overwhelmed the false GOPe narrative, and that created a problem for the Texas Republicans who are, for all intents and purposes, identical to Texas Democrats. This is one of the reasons why national Democrats are so confident they can turn Texas blue in a short period of time.
Remember, Democrats want power – Republicans want money. The events in Texas are a case study in this dynamic. Most of the Texas Republicans don’t care what happens ideologically, as long as they can be compensated for allowing the Democrats to dictate the state outcomes of political power. There is an awakening happening in Texas amid the base voters who continue to elect professional Republicans; however, it is unknown whether the uniparty dynamic has become too systemic to change.
Personally, after visiting several areas of Texas, I do not see much hope for them to remain a reliably red state. The only thing that might save Texas are the conservative Latinos who don’t want the social issues that accompany Democrat control. The non minority, or white Republican voters in Texas, have been gaslit by the Republican political class (Bush Inc.) for so long, they cannot see what is looming over the horizon.
The truth doesn’t care about your feelings. What I described is the reality in Texas, and it’s exactly the reason why I continue to warn residents of Florida about following the agenda of the DeSantis tribe.
Ken Paxton was interviewed by Tucker Carlson this week and will broadcast next week.
TEXAS – The Texas Senate voted to acquit Ken Paxton on all 16 articles of impeachment. A total of 21 senators had to approve at least one article for Paxton to be convicted and removed from office. Separately, senators also voted to dismiss four other articles that Paxton faced.
Paxton’s wife, Sen. Angela Paxton, was allowed to be present but could not vote on his fate or attend deliberations. (vote tally)
WASHINGTON – […] Immediately after Paxton was acquitted on the 16 articles, members of the chamber successfully voted to dismiss four remaining articles of impeachment that were held back to be considered at the end of the trial.
Paxton also faces a federal investigation, a state bar complaint for seeking to overturn the 2020 presidential election and a whistleblower lawsuit.
Paxton was suspended as attorney general in May, when the state’s Republican majority House of Representatives voted to impeach him over allegations he commandeered the state’s law-enforcement powers to help a donor facing federal investigation. The donor, real-estate investor Nate Paul, is alleged to have helped pay for Paxton’s home renovations and facilitate an extramarital affair. Neither Paul nor Laura Olson, the alleged mistress of Paxton, testified at the trial.
In a statement, Paxton said the truth prevailed on Saturday and thanked state senators for their votes.
“Most importantly, I want to thank my amazing wife Angela, who I love dearly,” Paxton said. “She is a brave woman of deep faith, unquestionable integrity, and the light of our entire family.” Angela Paxton is a Republican senator who has been present during the trial but couldn’t vote under the Senate impeachment rules. Jail for W and his nephew
Screw that. Nothing will change in this country until we try for treason and enforce our laws. Public executions will severely curtail the lawlessness we have now.
ASAP, please…
Free ride to Mars for W and his nephew.
NO!!! Venus is for RINOs and Demonrats. Mars, the nicest and most habitable planet besides Earth, should belong to a God fearing loving people.
In the space flight I envision, the eagle never lands.
F’ing bravo Texas!!!
No, sad.
We never should have gotten to where we are today and this should never have happened.
Next Governor of TX (sorry Abbott) or better yet, next Attorney General of USA under Donald J. Trump. MAGA!!
MAGA !!! That’s it. That’s the post
To SD: I think you meant “reliably red” in this sentence from your post: Personally, after visiting several areas of Texas, I do not see much hope for them to remain a reliably blue state.
Yes. Thanks.
No, we the people of Texas are RED, but the government has also been hijacked and it’s BLUE ( Anti-USA ).
We passed nothing this legislative session to protect the children.
What we have is Phelan(R) filling the Committee Chairs with Democrats that determine what the legislature can bring forth.
It too has been sold out.
TX State Rep Brian Harrison has called for Phelan to “step down immediately.” You can see the article on TGP site.
It’s interesting that Phelan was even elected. His district contains places I wouldn’t consider largely Republican, although it does have a large rural area. But the Phelan family was part of the founding of Jefferson Co. Everyone locally knows the name, but not necessarily the person.
I am ashamed to admit that my State Senator is one of the two who voted to convict Paxton. I will be actively working for his removal from office. He has enjoyed no primary opponent, along with no Democrat challenger for too many cycles.
Thank you Sandy. We all need to be and stay active in our local governments to get these traitors to the US Constitution removed from office. God speed.
The Phelan family is very wealthy. He uses that money to buy the votes from the House ( and Senate) Republicans. It’s how he became Speaker— he paid good money for it and calls in his markers.
Look for and recruit someone yourself. If you don’t, the RNC will choose a more electable RINO.
Phelan won’t step down and they won’t remove him — but the County Republican Committees have been meeting and voting on Censuring Phelan. If enough Counties do this – he can be denied to run as a Republican. That’s the more realistic goal. He has already done his damage for this session, which is over.
Texas votes for a majority conservative legislature. The House has a tradition of power sharing with the Democrats when the legislature comes into session. So frustrating.
Dade Phelan takes the cake. He created a whole new subcommittee for long-serving Democrat Senfronia Thompson.
https://www.house.texas.gov/committees/committee/?committee=C495
From what I have heard, The Calendars committee is the one that largely decides which legislation dies in committee and which bills get a chance at life.

Hallelujah!
More of this, please!
No, we need SOME of this going the other way, but with convictions. Time to start impeaching every Uniparty scum bag around. Both parties. Get them ALL OUT.
Kudos to Tony Buzbee!
Yes, Buzbee was in top form and in the bullseye of the target.
Fire up a grand jury in the most conservative town in Texas and indict the Special Counsel, the corrupt judges, for election interference against Trump.
But there is no basis for impeachment of Biden with 10’s of millions hitting the Biden family bank accounts. I get he will never be impeached but there will be no trial.
As Governor Abbott said in an interview, he would rather Biden be impeached for the open border and all the illegals that have poured over our borders. I say that’s high crimes and misdemeanors to impeach a President for ignoring the Constitution, laws, immigration laws, and more.
The Burisma disgrace mostly happened before Biden took office as POTUS. The border is germane to this administration.
Barnes says that the war in Ukraine should be enough to impeach Biden. The problem in that case is that congress voted on much of the funding. They wore their little gold and blue lapel pins everyday. Zelensky even spoke in the House.
I’d love it if some solid evidence on the Nord Stream pipeline explosions could come out and be used to impeach that old corruptocrat.
The GD Germans got nothin to do with it.
I enjoyed watching Attorney Buzbee work.
When witnesses were forthcoming and truthful, he could make them come off as even more sincere.
For the liars and weasels, well they got crushed with the Roadrunner acme anvil.
Maybe we will now see why both sides are so afraid of him.
BUZZBEE FOR SPECIAL COUNSEL Under TRUMP 47 !
” LET THE FACTS Speak For Themselves ”
J6, IGs , the agencies, … ROLL WITH IT Mr. Buzzbee .
qrw
libs getting practice at being disappointed with bogus trials
MAYBE
Getting Where THE POPULACE IS NOT BELIEVING ” The Narrative ” Presented and They ARE PRESSURING their Reps…
MAYBE
Still too many of “The Populace” have no clue and/or don’t care. They sit in front of their TVs watching The View, The Batchelor, MSNBC, etc.
I am not going to look at what CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, the NYSlimes, WaPo, etc says about this verdict; I know if it is mentioned at all, it will be given a 30 second slot, tops, and with a slant. This is what we are up against.
So – pass the word of mouth wherever you can…
Abbott continues to be a major disappointment.
Lou Gohmert and Chip Roy are total traitors and Rick Perry is exactly what you always thought he was!
As a former Texan, myself, the state has always been a riddle to me. How does a Republican Governor and legislature allow the crime and corruption to continue unabated in cities like Houston?
Because I’m sure the city is blue. Which shows you the power of the LOCAL level. Which Sundance and others have been saying for some time now.
WE need to take back the local levels of government.
yes CJ….in the HOUSTON bolshevik nest of TX….I do not like Abbott at all…
So sad about Louis. Heartbroken, really.
Now time for Paxton to go after his staff who ran to the FBI with innuendo and rumors to start this whole ball rolling. First, purge them, then complaints to the state bar association. Like Kurt Schlicter says, make the payback so painful that this Lawfare stops.
Paxton already purged them. That action was part of this impeachment.
Screw Col. Schlickster, he is fully immersed in TDS.
“Personally, after visiting several areas of Texas, I do not see much hope for them to remain a reliably blue state. ”
Did you mean red state?
I think SD made a rare typo. SD, please fix.
Yes
asked and answered y’all.
I am still grinning ear to ear.. Now they have some cleaning up to do, in house wr to their own procedures. This should not have happened. Hopefully they are all out of bubble gum.
I live in Dade Phelan’s district and have voted against him in every primary and have tried to convince everyone around me what a RINO he is. He’s fully exposed now but his actions have shown where his priorities lie and that’s with democrats and their agenda. The Phelans are democrats from Beaumont from way back who switched parties because you can’t get elected in this area as a democrat. Unless you’re a democrat with an R by your name. Happens far too often. Cornyn is another example in Texas.
David Covey is running against him this time.
https://taketexasback.com/candidate/david-covey/
The primaries will probably get a much higher turnout this time.
Grew up in Beaumont, what you said is absolutely true.
Typical Bush republican.
Democrat who switched parties to stay in office, the area politicians are almost all this breed.
BINGO!
And that is why the Founders were against a 2-party system.
Enjoy your pain today, Rove. We’ve had about enough of you and the Bushes!!
Karl Rove – MOVING To MAINE Also ? Or ARE You Moving In with Gov. Greg ?
Or maybe into that DC apartment with McCarthy and Frank Lunz?
They could all drink Bud Light together while they continue plotting.
But we see them…
Karl has always been a snake in the grass. So happy he cannot claim a “win” on this political persecution of Paxton.
He fancied himself the successor to Lee Atwater.
Karl, I knew Atwater, and you’re no Atwater.
There has been no comparable successor to Lee Atwater since his passing.
Reminds me of Truman brandishing the ThE Chicago Tribune declaring Dewey winning the 1948 election.
Rove is probably the one who approved all the “end is near for Trump” headlines that frequently appeared across all the MSM in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
What a dumbazz grifter.
Karl Rove: The epitome of a fake conservative, let alone a Republican. He has been a grifter all his years in office, feeding at the trough of the DNC, Globalists.
The fact that the FNC employs him tells you all you need to know about the FNC. Ugh.
Yep
Karl Rove: the face only a mother can love.
And, they probably had to bribe her. The human thumb.
One reason I stopped watching Hannity long ago.
Oh well, back to the whiteboard… 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As usual, some quisling Rs voted with the Ds on the 16-14, but no Ds voted with the Rs.
These Rs are wussies… and very stupid.
No, they are Brutus’s and Judas’s. They knew what they were doing.
That would make them very stupid.
Those “R”s are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are all working for the DNC, Soros, etc.
It’s about time we found out who they are.
Exactly. They believe their duplicity gives them cache with the absolute sacks of dog crap who patrol universities and advise on policy – a la Krugman.
There was one article that acquitted Paxton by a vote of 28-2.
A couple of Democrats would rather eat glass than vote with the Republicans. Their constituents may not be very forgiving of anyone who does not hold to the D party line.
Yes on 8 Articles there were Dems. that voted with the Republicans.
Well, there may be hope for Texas staying red…. many, like myself, moved here in the past 2 years, and are more “Constitutionalist”. Texas IS further gone than I thought however, sometimes I wonder why I am here….
But there is some hope……..
Have a friendly bet with friends in Austin over which state goes blue first, TX or SC. Might see one flip in 2024 thanks to the migration.
The fake “R”s in every State is a great part of what we are up against.
Which state has more colleges and universities?
That’s where a lot of the degradation in critical think skills comes from.
We need to change that Long March Through the Institutions into a quick-step dance outta them…
Know what is happening in Tx politics and be active. A MUST share with others

Get involved with True Texas Project – Educating and Motivating Citizen Engagement

To paraphrase PT Barnum – Texas rank-and-file Republicans sure seem to like having the wool pulled over their eyes.
justice prevails this made my day
AG Paxton needs to fire anyone in his office that was involved in this fiasco first thing Monday morning.
the article said Republicans want money, and Democrats want power. This is why Republicans will always be the stupid party because Democrats have obviously figured out how to get both. Just ask, Obama, Biden, Clinton, and Pelosi.
“Democrats have obviously figured out how to get both.”
Established repubs always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
….. for some compensation of course.
Can Trump now have this attorney to represent him?
I like the way you think! And I AGREE. TRUMP get Buzbee on your legal team STAT!!
Even though this was clearly a political trial it was disheartening to see the vote essentially along party lines except for a couple Bush repubs still voting to convict despite the clear lack of evidence. Had two more RINOs not been shamed into acquittal, Paxton would have been gone. What an amazing feat for Busbee exposing this charade.
Q: Why is it that you never see a Demrat voting with a Repub, but often see a Repub voting with a Demrat?
A: Because those Repubs are really Demrats who changed political stripes to damage the Repub Party.
American political axiom: Most Republicans are actually Democrats but no Democrats are actually Republicans.
Why is it “disheartening”? Trump would’ve been removed from office in the 1st first impeachment trial if it had been up the D’s. IRC, not a single D Senator voted “Not Guilty” in either trial. And in House, 99 percent of the Democrat House members voted to impeach.
People need to understand what we are up against. The D’s want to win, by any means neccessary. And i mean that literally. “Just win baby, Just win” is their motto. That’s why we can’t afford to have a big tent if by “big Tent” people mean traitors, squishes, and backstabbers who will help the D’s when they need it the most.
I love this pic –
OMG! Was this pic really taken today? If so, that says a lot, and means a lot. God bless POTUS Trump and AG Paxton.
The silver lining to this dark cloud is that the RINOs have exposed themselves.
Drunk Dade is probably the most hated man in Texas.
When it comes time for the primaries (March), there should be a lot of RINO hunters making their way to the polls.
IT’S RINO SEASON … and no bag limit.
Has PDJT commented on Paxton since this started?
https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/111077086039577387
Wouldn’t it be nice if that slight boo-boo turned out to be an eventual Truth.
Open season on Texas RINOs would be the best course forward.
No mercy…none.
Any “Republican “ that voted to convict has to be hounded out of office, and not given a minute peace.
Cheers!
There were 2 GOP senators who voted to convict on most of the articles. I want to know their names. Was it the same two each time? We need a full breakdown of the votes.
We will smoke out the RINOs.
Remarkably, on Article 4, 10 Dems voted to acquit, and on Article 8, 5 Dems voted to acquit.
Kelly Hancock and Robert Nichols
Kelly Hancock who represents my district voted to convict (North Richland Hills, DFW area). I sure hope he gets a primary challenge in the next election.
Robert Nichols – District 3 and Kelly Hancock – District 9 , voted to convict

Lawfare fails again.
Sundance is correct about the GOPe in TX being heavily uniparty RINOs. However, I am of the belief (hope) that this episode will serve as an awakening. It is not too late, but it does require eyes to be opened.
Two things happened. One, in 1986, the Bushies started pushing out the Reagan people, because they were “the future” don’t you know? Two, in 1995, a whole raft of Democrats switched parties because of the wreckage of 1994. Many of them had close shaves in November 1994, and they saw the electorate shift toward Republican ideas in a big way. Unfortunately, their change was purely superficial at best. They’ve been followed into office by subsequent waves of similar dirtbags.
The porous border with Texas bearing the brunt of it should be an awakening too.
There is only one hope to save Texas and the nation, America First to MAGA.
Hallelujah, praise the Lord!
To Tony Buzbee:
” alright, alright, alright!”
Bush league is not wanted by We the People in Texas.
Make cartel people akin to deer in deer season in Texas. A bounty on corpses.
I am a life long Texan. My cohorts have awakened to the Blue possibility. Rural Texas is vast compared to other states. Yes Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio cheat but I think the rural red population is going to win out.
Yes, if you go in any direction out of those big cities, you will see pro Trump and MAGA flags and signs on people’s property.
Some signs I saw outside of Austin were, ” Don’t California my Texas.”
I moved back to Texas from austin about 6 years ago. 50 miles is a whole ‘nother world.
Lived in Laredo, occasional trip to Austin was a good break. Not that long ago Austin was a great city.
As long as there are lobbyists, there will be good restaurants in Austin.
I pray you are correct, Showboat Man.
We need to call out all the GOPEs in every State; none of them are conservative, none of them want to MAGA. They are working for Soros (NWO) and Wall Street, and care not an iota for the working class citizens who make up the backbone of these United States.
SD is correct. We can NEVER get a reliable Conservative(MAGA) Speaker in TX. Joe Strauss was a disaster, he’d never bring Conservative bills to the floor for a vote and made deals with the Dems. Then came Dennis Bonnen a Strauss redux. Now we’ve got Dade Phellan a carbon copy of the prior two who went to the TX House as drunk as Cooter Brown (videos on the net.) Hopefully this impeachment debacle will end Drunk Dade’s reign and bring in a real Conservative – that will help move good legislation and help to keep the state red.
Brian Harrison has called for the immediate resignation of Phelan.
Phelan needs to step down in shame for promoting this farce of an impeachment of the TX AG.
The way to get Dade Phelan to resign probably would be to socially isolate the women in his family.
Shunning isn’t just for the Amish.
Look at how Angela Paxton was treated.
Paxton should everyone involved in bringing the false charges. The people that do this sh!t are never held accountable or punished. They should be crucified.
I think those involved in perpetrating this sham should be sued by the Texas taxpayers.
As with the Mueller “investigation”, we’re forced to fund these atrocities of justice.
Prosecutors that file frivolous lawsuits should lose their qualified immunity, and their personal wealth be subject to confiscation and forfeiture, up to 35% of their net worth, not including a homesteaded home.
“…the truth prevailed…” I don’t think that is how this verdict was determined at all.
If I am looking at the voting results for each charge, it appears to me the democrats voted to convict, added a couple of republicans on a few charges which suggest to me truth had nothing to do with it.
Seems to me those senators voted on party lines mostly, which suggests truth might have been in the back seat or perhaps in the trunk hiding in plain site.
No evidence was provided for guilt to those charges, they were promoted via a notion of “good faith” which in this case seems rather hollow and the exact opposite!.
This was a lynch mob bent on hanging the elected Attorney General of Texas, nothing less but much more…power politics at play with backroom players very active.
Even as the governor of New Mexico re-writes her constitutional violation on limited gun control (now parks and playgrounds..no firearms) to avoid a real fight, she is not done with the 2nd amendment just as those Texas democrats along with their rinos aren’t done trying to get Paxton run out of town on a rail.
Power, dirty politics are in play all over this country. After this goes too far expect bloodshed on the streets to follow, sadly.
“Power, dirty politics are in play all over this country. After this goes too far expect bloodshed on the streets to follow, sadly.”
I hope it doesn’t needs to go that far, but we must continue to fight this most unholy war on the citizenry; whatever it takes.
It MUST go that far. Our Founders freed our entire country in 8 years with far less than we have.
It’s time.
Hopefully the two “Republican” turncoats get the Mitt Romney treatment.
“This is one of the reasons why national Democrats are so confident they can turn Texas blue in a short period of time.”
We were blue for a long time, especially at the state level. Urbanization and immigration of all types is shoving us to the left.
It’s just a matter of time I’m afraid.
Do not give up. Do not succumb. Stay active in every local and State meeting. If we trust in God and persevere, we will win in the end.
We may not win every battle, but we will win this war. Stay true to yourself and Trust in God to get you8 and us through this hellish pox on the USA.
My family has been fighting for Texas since the days before my great great great grandfather took the battlefield of San Jacinto to engage [rout] Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna.
We don’t give up or give in, but God’s will may not be in line with our own. It is up to Him how this plays out.
All we can do is our best. Godspeed.
And high irresponsible unwed, welfare mother birthrate. Many Mexican- American girls get preggaers at 15, Quinceañera. And just continue to breed. Blacks the same.
Let’s remove the Bush name from all airports, freeways and buildings in Texas.
Amen.
I always refer to the big airport in Houston as Intercontinental. The name never changed for me.
The Buzzsaw and Krewe cut the Menshevik brush down to size. They will be relocating to Kennebunkport and by Thanksgiving there will be plenty of turkey to go around.
The way I understand it, Angela Paxton was required to be present for the whole thing. Her presence was not voluntary.
Laura Olsen was supposed to testify but her attorney said that she intended to plead the 5th. Supposedly, she was in or near the capitol all day and was finally dismissed around 5pm or so. Putting her on the stand would have accomplished nothing more than torture of Angela Paxton. There was a motion to quash and Dan Patrick agreed.
There are street gangs that don’t play so rough.
The Prosecution messed up big time – they said “ The Prosecution rests” your honor and Buzbee said “ no objection your honor”. Dan Patrick did not allow the Prosecution to Rajesh back their error.
That was so cool to watch.
They’re COMMUNISTS. Of course, they have no mercy.
Texas State Rep. Calls for House Speaker Dade Phelan to “Step Down” After Acquittal of AG Ken Paxton on All Articles of Impeachment
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/09/texas-state-rep-calls-house-speaker-dade-phelan/
Yep, Brian Harrison from District 10 has called for drunk Dade to step down.
To God be the glory!
The GOPe need to hang their collective heads in shame for pulling this stunt.
Thank the lord and the lawyer who helped Mr Paxton to fight through this mess and come out on the other side with still being the AG
maybe this lawyer could go fight for President Trump, We need someone who knows his way around all these corrupt people who are after
him to
Please please please..
“Bush” republicans , aka Nazis, globalists, RINOs or Democrats
remove the swamp from power
seize their assets and lock them up
Let’s be blunt. Many Texans are now issuing a sigh of relief, when what they ought to be doing is putting on their war faces. What this entire episode should have exposed for EVERY Texan is:
The House of Representatives in Texas is LOADED with RINOs who should be primaried with extreme prejudice.
The Texas Senate is LOADED with RINOs all of who should be primaried with extreme prejudice.
The only reason Texas retained a good public servant and excellent Attorney General is because he fought like Hell. He had little help.
When uttering the name “Bush,” Texans should spit it out of their mouths like a curse. In fact, it should become the new “SHIT!”
Anybody offering any comfort or consolation to these insurrectionists should be treated likewise.
Texans must clean up our terribly corrupt state. In 1995, after the Gingrich revolution in DC, a bunch of these jerks changed sides, purely for the sake of the fact that “Democrat” had become simply “rat” to most Texans. From then forward, the hardest job for Texas voters is figuring out which primary candidates are fakers, and then exposing them before they gain traction. They always have the big money support. I wouldn’t give you a nickel for so many of them. The rare actual conservative is generally pursued and hounded out of office, with all the money brought to bear against them. If they happen to be even vaguely America First, it’s a virtual target on their backs. Almost the entire Republican delegation to the US House of representatives are the same thing. You know about the two Senators already. Chip Roy? Pffft. Dan McCrenshaw???? Eyepatch McCain? Sorry, but they’re virtually all RINOs with just a couple possible exceptions.
Thinking about it, I wish there was a way to invent a RINO-detector for voters. A polygraph would never suffice. They’re too pathological to be caught by such technology.
Need specially formulated questions to be asked on the campaign trail, guaranteed to expose them. Get Buzbee to make them up!
That would be a job for Sundance.
It was sad and disgusting to find out we only had 23 real Republicans in the House.
Hoping for a “reckoning.”
