Steve Bannon did an excellent monologue today outlining how President Donald Trump is one of only three people who have the destiny of the nation attached to their own destiny. {Direct Rumble Link}
Together with President Abraham Lincoln and President George Washington, the destiny of our constitutional Republic as intrinsically tied to President Donald Trump.
Brenden Dilly has an excellent encapsulation also:
“The streets have never had a President. They’ve never had someone they could relate to, at least on some level, about a particular struggle or unjust circumstance…
Until last night. Last night, the streets were given a champion. They were given someone who they could see being set up, railroaded, arrested, and humiliated, just the way they have for decades.
Real recognizes real, and last night, the establishment uniparty made what will go down as the biggest mistake in modern history.
They martyred Trump and gave the streets a reason to love him.
Andrew Jackson was a very popular man of the people, and hated by the bankers for cancelling subsidies to the Bank of the United States…They tried to assassinate him, but failed due to a miraculous double misfire….
And the bankers continue to be THE most rotten bastards among rotten bastards
With all due respect, I can’t see it that way. Money certainly can’t be lent at 0.0%, and a private bank couldn’t be worse than a public Bank of the United States manipulated by Pelosi, Schummer, or McConnell.
You might say they have financed tyrants and promoted wars, but so have industrialists and the military class. It certainly is true that bankers have come to the rescue of profligate kings and queens, and had become every bit as corrupt as the royals while attempting to actually marry into their circles, or simply receiving titles of royalty in exchange for their loans whenever the royals were broke.
But, in the end, I fail to see why bankers deserve any more scorn than any other layer of the corrupt ruling classes.
Lastly, good banking is actually hard, tedious work, and most banks do go broke.
The famous, influential Italian banking family known as the Medicis who funded popes and princes and the greatest artists the world has ever known ultimately saw their banks collapse.
I guess they just took their eyes off the ball.
I’ve always thought the bankers envied the royals and wished to enjoy their opulence and indolent lifestyle.
The Banksters don’t envy the royals. They own them.
The international banking cartel is discussed here frequently and we know what they’re all about.
You defending them or trying to deflect for them is very telling.
BTW and FYI, after Jackson threw out the internationalist by not renewing their charter, the US had one of the largest growth of wealth for all citizens without an income tax in all recorded history.
You may need to either go study the subject better or just give up on your futile defense of central banking.
Please don’t insult us.
Actually, the bankers did envy the royals’ ability to live opulent lives by coercing taxes or tariffs, or by confiscating property as retribution. Bankers couldn’t do any of this. Yet they became inextricably intertwined with the royals, and many thought that the racket of government coercive powers brought greater security and a life of leisure. Most royals, after all, spent their time devoted to hobbies, literature, painting, music etc., all to the great glory of art in that many great artists were in their employ.
Please note that since 2008, the banking sector has become a sick weakling ward of the government, i.e., making their money by parking their reserves at the Fed while the latter uses that control to artificially set the value of goods and services in relation to the dollar. The banks have thus become dependent on government coddling, i.e., they lend very little to the public (don’t have to!) and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind at this point being nationalized as many are on the verge of failing.
Therefore, just as I stated in reference to banks throughout history, modern-day banks since 2008 have also become accustomed to the easy life of a sovereign that only needs to tax others to remain afloat. It’s anyone’s guess therefore how many banks will survive or how much the sovereign’s subjects (we the people) will have to cough up to bail them out.
But make no mistake about it, banks have been manipulated and coopted by the enticements of the socialist government. Obama’s yearly GDP growth was abysmal, and the fed’s grip grew stronger and stronger as banks, instead of being lending institutions, and no longer being able to engage in the more lucrative side of investment banking, were forced to become warehouses of cash that had to remain out of circulation in order to allow socialist ideology free rein at the malign restructuring of the economy without setting off explosive inflation, something that would certainly have happened had the banks been free to invest their reserves instead of warehousing them.
Money can’t be lent at 0% if it’s constantly being depreciated by fractional reserve banking.
Lending money and charging interest is immoral. It was always so in Christendom.
It was morally licit for the Medicis to profit from an expedition for example, but because of the risk–they lost their investment if the ship did not return. Also, they did not charge interest on a loan–they found a ‘work around’ in the form of fees. They lent in one currency and collected the debt in another, embedding fees in the exchange rate. There is no moral prohibition against charging a fee for a service, but compounding interest is immoral from both Christian morality and Islamic morality as well. (Muslims also found a work around in the form of a fee, which, usually follows the letter but not the spirit of the law).
Then I suppose that it would also be immoral to collect compound interest on a savings account? Remember, when the business of banking was in fact a business (it no longer is), account-holder deposits were treated as loans to the bank, hence compound interest was paid. Banks would invest in specialized knowledge about the marketplace in order to understand where to allocate these loans to the bank in such a way that the bank could pay off the savings account holder, and also have a profit margin at the end of the day.
Profit is not immoral. Profit only materializes when all parties (buyers and sellers) to any transaction or set of transactions receive some value added to their lives or finances as a result of such business activity.
Lending money is immoral??? so if I rent a backhoe to dig a storm drain United Rental should not charge me for its usage?
By the third generation, businesses go badly
Yes, that does seem to be a pattern. Complacency and entitlement begin to inhabit the human soul after success has been achieved.
Donald…you’re on a roll, I sense a bell curve coming up!
I think Steve mentioned Andrew Johnson. He and Jackson were Tennesseans. Jackson was responsible for the Trail of Tears.
“Jackson was responsible for the Trail of Tears.”, he was not responsible for anything, he was not a dictator.
There have been lots of times in history when things were done that seemed to be the responsible thing to do at the time, but were later seen as irresponsible. Another one was the internment of American-Japanese people in WWll.
I’m sure there are many things happening right now that will be viewed much differently many years from now.
I always liked the symbolism of President Trump making The Hermitage his first visit upon arriving in Washington D.C. as President and presenting a wreath in memory of President Jackson; remember thinking at that moment that President Trump really does understand he is the people’s President.
It’s remarkable to see this reality continue to unfold and open the eyes of more of the people each and every day.
In a duel he stood and took a pistol ball to the chest then cooley shot his opponent. Carried that ball the rest of his life.
The mug-shot looks like a Rembrandt painting.
President Trump is unstoppable. Anything they do to him just makes him stronger.
Do you think that all those wrestling events Trump put on in Atlantic City did not pay off in this picture (mugshot)?
I believe you’re right, RJ!
Just to add a little more context to this mugshot variation, when I made it I was thinking of how President Trump always shows his love for the American flag. He’s reached out and hugged the flag many times. Also, as you said, his involvement with the WWE where patriotism is showcased by wrestlers draping themselves with an American flag came to mind.
Very funny Shawn Farash impersonation of Trump about his mug shot.
Love the vid. If looks could kill. Trump gave it.
Yes, and they were so hoping for a Nick Nolte-like mugshot.
If Trump is not a hero then there never was one
Personally, I have been vacillating between Hope and doom as far as this country and her future goes. Then I heard the Oliver Anthony song early on and it really got me. I forwarded it to practically everyone I know. After that, I started reading about reaction videos, which I had never heard of. Sometimes I am a little out of touch because I haven’t had television for decades so I didn’t know anything about reaction videos. I became very obsessed with watching reaction videos to that song and it revived my hope for our country. No doubt some of the reaction videos were a bit contrived and everybody wanting to jump on the bandwagon, but there were many people that I could feel the legitimacy in their responses and reactions to the song. I have worked in the inner city, most of my life, and I was very interested in the black response, which I found touching and genuine. Trust me I totally get what Brenden Dilley is talking about. It is real. I think they really effed up this time. Thank you God.
I have been obsessed with the reaction videos!! It’s been amazing to see people come in blind and go out in tears. Even the most hardened hip hop reactors… and that’s where Trump is going to absolutely gain black votes. Black reactors on YT are the most popular. They love all the Oliver Anthony songs and they see Trump getting screwed. Do the math and that demo is going to rise like never before.
Exactly! I couldn’t stop watching them. I knew that they know when many of them said protect Oliver Anthony at all costs. They know what’s up.
I think I watched every reaction video out there at least once. I was amazed at the emotion displayed when the listeners realized someone was saying what they feel. The best thing was that the color of one’s skin was absolutely irrelevant.
You know, Biden might unite us yet….AGAINST HIM.
I oscillate as well.
Part of the process and a sign of your willingness to experience the transformation taking place upon this land of ours.
The politics is down stream of more substantial changes taking place.
Moving from power and control losing as love/freedom, to something else. Something I expect which is much better, acceptance and welcoming of others as they are for who they are, not for how they can be used.
That’s about half of my total viewing time, reaction videos of various types. Watching people watch things lol.
It’s a gigantic rabbit hole for sure
Have you heard of an “unboxing video”? It’s where people take newly purchased products out of the packaging and demonstrate them.
My friend’s little daughter wants to make unboxing videos when she grows up, so she practices all the time in front of the mirror because she’s too young to be allowed onto the internet.
You can make A LOT of money doing this type of video. The family that make Ryan’s World, a toy unboxing video channel, are practically billionaires now and have licensing deals and shelf space in Target and WalMart and tons of other stores.
I did know about unboxing’s for monthly subscriptions it’s really crazy though isn’t it that we need to have other peoples opinions of what is good so that we will know rather than figuring it out on our own. But all of these so-called influencers every reaction video I watched to Oliver Anthony was overwhelmingly positive. It truly renewed my Hope
I like to wear my Trump t-shirts to Shop Rite, the laundromat, etc to see what kind of reactions I get. A lot of people whisper in my ear that they like Trump but they do not want their friends to know. I have lost friends because of my political position. I do not care.
The RNC was always tone deaf .
I have been watching reaction
videos for quite awhile.
I love them!
Better than any shows on the
TV. …which I very seldom
watch.
Quite a few of them started
with music reactions
Pentatonix -Hallelujah and Sound of Silence
is great for reactions.
Now a lot of them are getting
involved for the first time in
politics.
I have a few I follow and I
love watching them being red
pilled….all on their own.👏👏

Can’t wait to see the polls next week, President Trump will go up 5 to 7 points because of what happened Thursday. His tactics remind me of Ghandhi who took on the entire British Empire and beat them. One thing about the truly greats, they never back down and keep moving forward no matter what is thrown at them.
And a lot of conservative don’t do polls….so I bet its much higher….!
I’m 74 years young. Never been polled. Nobody in my big family has either. Polls are fake.
Look up Sri Aurobindo as another example of someone who may have had a larger impact fighting against the British Empire.
Independence from Authoritarians, inevitable.
God bless the chosen.
Every hard-working, law abiding, Blue Collar family in America can take a look at what is happening and recognize that they have no rights anymore and the message is being delivered loud and clear that this is what the powerful will do to anyone who doesn’t go along with the plan!
Exactly the message America is getting…..if they can get away with this, what in the name of Jesus will they try with us???
Sorry, Lincoln destroyed the Constitutional Republic, replacing it with an empire based on force. The difference between THESE United States and THE United States.
At this point they cannot win.
If they jail Trump, they lose.
If Trump is no longer here on earth they lose.
If Trump loses their fake election they lose.
Trump is now bigger than all of them. They are no different than that loser Epstein in a NY jail. With it all stripped away where will you stand?
They own the I hate Trump problem. They made it about Trump, because they cannot tell us what they really want to do with America. Americans know what they want. Trump forced them to play their hand too soon.
Onward Christian Soldiers!
Ephesians 6:18 NKJV
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints-
the deep state didn’t kill itself
They cannot win legitimately. But they cheat, like crazy. Many others have said it here, but how can we overcome that?
If Trump wins the Presidency and is jailed without the ability to run the country or if he is no longer here on earth, how do they lose?
The Democrats and Deep State will cheat every election as they have for many, many years.
WE are the ones that are losing.
In fact, I would say the ability to turn around the mess is almost gone unless citizens get off their devices, get politically active at every level from town to federally, and carry out events like national boycotts and strikes.
The only thing that will make the Left and deep state pause is the country and large corporations being on the brink of financial ruin. They would hate having their personal revenue stream jeopardized. And politicians cannot live without their “pork.”
Never forget, that the American consumer is the single most powerful economic force on the planet.
There is only until October 2024 to act.
If he wins but is in jail, he pardons himself.
Think!!!!
Which means “Epsteining” enters the program.
It is the republicans that will be Caesar’s assassins. The RNC will keep President Trump from representing the republican party.
I hope that President Trump has a plan to be on the ballot in all 50 states besides winning the republican primaries. I think he will end up having to run against the commie dims and the RNC.
Retired Magistrate here: This reminds me of what Yamamoto (Commander of Japanese Fleet that struck Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 which initiated the United States involvement in World War II) said after the successful attack on Pearl Harbor. Yamamoto stated that I fear we have woken a sleeping giant (U.S.) and filled it with a terrible resolve.
Hopefully history will repeat itself.
This is a game for keeps all the marbles are there, and only one side is going to win. there is no going back either they win or we win.
Winston Churchill also came to a similar conclusion, paraphrasing here, that eventually the American citizens come around and make the right decision and then act on it.
Winnie was another mass-murdering psychopath, just like Lincoln.
And the US Government goaded the Japanese into attacking, knew they were on the way, and did nothing about it. FDR wanted it.
The Democrats, RINOs and Deep State are doing everything they can to make President Trump a criminal figuratively & literally and a villain in the eyes of his supporters, We The People.
But what they are too high and mighty to comprehend is, they are driving more and more people of, ALL stripes, not tied to their elitist globalist trough, to see the injustice that is happening.
Instead more & more ‘average Joe’s’ are supporting President Trump in his fight against this persecution and coming to his defensive. The elitist are making him their Hero for taking them on, fighting for them, and Never Backing Down.
They (elitist) know not what they do!!!
But, they are going to find out!
I wish that I had Steven’s confidence concerning the inevitable victory of Trump, but I don’t. I think we blew our chance, Trump blew his chance by ignoring the very real problem of an entrenched Federal ruling class and the bureaucrats that inhabit the swamp. It took the Democrat/ Neocon crime machine 4 months to undo everything Trump had accomplished, aided of course by the “Plandemic” and the turncoats in the Republican Party that facilitated the whole operation……they are still there…the Fifth Branch is still firmly entrenched and have solidified nation wide control of the voting machines, they have the complete and total support of Republican leadership, such as it is. I don’t think we will vote our way out of this mess and I doubt that the American people still possess the grit or the will of our Founding Fathers to put it all on the line to save our country.
It’s PRESIDENT TRUMP to you.
President “Trump blew his chance by ignoring the very real problem of an entrenched Federal ruling class and the bureaucrats that inhabit the swamp.”
Are those Ron DuhSantos talking points?
Well, Clyde, why don’t you just surrender and spread some more fatalistic negativity. I am certain we will all be better off because of it.
And most importantly, they have turned people like you into quitters.
GTFO my foxhole.
Wow, this country needs more people like you. Lots more./s
a helluva lot more…/s
Trump had a fantastic policy victory for the USA.
Where did you copy this from, you can tell by the very dark print. Boogy below has your number.
As Mr. Bannon said, “remember, most, people, like Clyde Nail, wouldn’t fight with General Washington”.
🤦♀️🤫
You couldn’t make this stuff up if you were the greatest Sci Fi writer since Kirt Vonnegut.
“Biden’s U.S. Department of Justice sued SpaceX, the rocket company founded and run by Elon Musk, for alleged hiring discrimination against refugees and people seeking, or already granted asylum.”
I didn’t know we had rocket scientists hopping the border 🙄🙄🙄.
KURT VONNEGUT…
The Government is going after Him for allowing/airing the X-Tucker-Trump interview. Also for expanded conservative reach of Twitter.
We need to be out there en masse. There is no acceptable excuse for anybody here not to have a Trump bumper sticker and wearing Trump gear. Stop buying any thing that you don’t need. Let’s make getting canceled em vogue. I really think it’s time to come out of the closet. I am proud to be a Trump supporter. And when it comes up, I proudly let all of my patients know, and I don’t care if they go somewhere else. None have. I’m in Loudoun County Virginia, so imagine that.
Good on you Kitty T!!!
Let’s not tie Trump to Lincoln. Lincoln destroyed the Republic in 1861 and it’s been downhill ever since.
That is two of now with the Lincoln stuff, he had no choice. The North caused the problem to start it off, it was economics, not slavery per say. No he saved the republic. Now you are Lincoln ,what would you have done.
Let the South peacefully leave, just like Buchanan did.
Which is why without any doubt, should, via some miracle, we win the day.. they damn well better make room on Mt. Rushmore.
As soon as President Trump returns to the Oval Office, we need a sculptor/engineer and an organization to help finance a new carving on Mt. Rushmore. I want President Trump to see himself on Rushmore, not have it be after he’s passed on.
President Trump does not need to be on Mt. Rushmore. The people know who he is and what he has tried to do for this country at great personal risk and financial loss to himself, and so does Almighty God. Not a bad public, that.
Washington and Jefferson deserve to be on Mt. Rushmore. Teddy and Abe were centralizing authoritarian anti-constitutionalists.
Heck no absolutely not.
President Trump gets his own mountain!
It’s a very powerful monologue and two parts that resonate are a: it ain’t over until we give up and b: we have to win because that has to be the fate of this country after having survived similar crises at least twice before. The formation of this republic itself was a miracle.
I’ll also add another part- if the Left- the commies- had a choice, they would want ALL of us to go to jail for 700 years each, if that is what it took them to “win”.
My question to them is: what exactly are they going to “win” if they destroyed it in the first place? WHO are they going to rule and WHOSE wealth are they going to steal after they have bankrupted the entire country??
It’s called payback.
Your name answers your question “Disillusioned”
Did anyone ever, ever , ever in the last 3 decades imagine we’d be here and understand how 3rd world countries’ citizens feel???
In 2023, you are either fully supporting Donal Trump and his MAGA, AMERICA FIRST MOVEMENT, or you are the enemy.
There is no middle ground.
Democrats and GOPe RINOS be gone.
Ok, this is a lot of hyperbole. Trump is not a street candidate. Yesterday he was complaining about how Wharton never taught him about mugshots. Not many street people graduate from Wharton.
President Trump knows what it is like to be ” put through the process” like so many innocent people who have been railroaded.
He bridges the gap between Wharton and the blue collar workers and has for decades because of his real estate development business and going along with his dad to collect rent when he was a kid. DJT has more of a heart than most would give him credit for.
Donald Trump SHELTERED Jennifer Hudson rent-free after her

Donald Trump sued the city of Palm Beach when he bought a segregated club Mar A Largo to open it to Jews and blacks which the city didn’t allow.
Donald Trump paid to ensure a Mexican American boy would

Donald Trump dispatched his plane to FLY A SICK BOY for

Donald Trump let a homeless African American woman live rent free in Trump Tower for 8 years and had a bouquet of flowers sent to her once a week for the entire 8 years to remind her that she’s loved.
He also heard about a family about to lose their farm (due to taxes IIRC) and he gave them money to save the farm.
Yes, I heard that as well.
Seems to me I saw that he and Ivanka would go through the newspaper on a regular basis to see if there people who they wanted to help.
He also was a problem kid and his Dad put him military school where he excelled, he could have gone to any college or jr college and said the same thing, where are you coping this stuff from, same dark print.
One point I disagree with. Bannon said, and I’ve heard others say it too, that if President Trump left quietly after 2020, then the other side would have left him alone. I actually think they are so nasty and vindictive that they still would have gone after him, and hard. To me, I have no doubt that this is definitely what they would have done.
And then I wonder if they would have been more successful if Trump had left quietly. I think it’s probably been in Trump’s interest that he is not stepping aside and not backing out of the fight. Of course, that’s also very much in the interest of the good people of America and the world, too.
Jim Hoft (Gateway Pundit) was on later in the evening and said this was Bannon’s best ever monologue…
Bannon can get on his entertaining rants (some would argue he’s pretty annoying)… but sometimes he hits the target just right…
This was a well-formed off-the-cuff Op Ed .
Intending to put him in shackles, in their arrogance and hubris, they inextricably shackled US, to HIM with a binding nothing, no thing can possibly break.
May God have mercy on their souls.
“They” better hope God has mercy on their souls…..because Patriots Will Not.
Mr. Bannon be right.
So God made a Leader.
God doesn’t make many men like President Trump. Maybe so we will recognize a true Leader and man of God when we see one?
Dear Lord, please hold and keep President Trump in your perfect embrace. In Jesus name, Amen.
Thank you for everything, President Trump 🙂
I’m impressed both by the turnout on the street and the street smarts of POTUS for doing the drive. What will impress me even more is video of Fani Willis being heckled, or Ruby Freeman being called out while walking into a restaurant.
The Democrats, RINOs and Deep State are doing everything they can to make President Trump a criminal figuratively & literally and a villain in the eyes of his supporters, We The People.

Motion to vacate McCarthy and primary everyone in Congress who voted for the rule to lift the debt ceiling. Quit playing patty cake. Start playing smash mouth.
Meanwhile .. back to his beach vacation, Biden the hollow husk, who showed the people of Maui that he has no empathy or judgment; decided that it was the time to grin widely and to NOT say his usual ‘No whatever’ comment.
LANGUAGE WARNING: funny guy who does the impressions on Jimmy Dore’s show does a Biden call-in… some funny lines in here…
“Biden Admits He “F*cked Up” His Trip To Hawaii”
Thank you 😉
I think that his first truth since his installation.
It’s a show parody on what happened, about a person, what people see and know to be true or not.
Biden isn’t saying all those things.
The technology used these days are more complexed and manipulative of what we see or hear in videos. Just like fake news, edited videos and news clips on TV, to deceive their audience.
Twitter says that page is “broken”
Worked for me & I have no acct. I just kept tapping.
Game. Set. Match! As Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and The City would say: “And just like that.., their hubris took them down…”
Man, this is exactly everything I think and say…thanks Steve.
You can tell when Bannon ties one on the night before. Today he shaved and combed his hair. This is when he’s at his best.
Or maybe he looks rough some days because he’s been up all night getting things straight in order to educate people like you and me.

I join in Bannon’s assessment …if you don’t see it, I feel sorry for you..
🇺🇸💪😀👍
Steve Bannon was spot on, a powerful voice, of truth and reason during very challenging times.
We the people have got your back mr president.🙏🏻🇱🇷
If they harm Trump no politician is safe anymore anywhere.
Actually none of us are “safe” anymore.
The very instant law is used in politics the law is debased and the closer to mayhem we all are.
Make me laugh Monticello- the instant moment you refer to has come to pass. Constitutional mayhem is on your doorstep.
YOU can either;
A) Man up and defend the moral values that you believe in, or
B) Swallow what comes to pass.
Washington, Lincoln and Trump. I watch the WarRoom twice a day. Inextricably linked. It should be a cautionary tale for the Swamp. If any of them even think about harming a hair on this man’s head, there are 100 million reasons why they best reconsider!
The American Revolution, the Civil War, and the Restoration of the Republic. This time we’re the insurgents trying to take back our country, no-longer to keep it. May God bless Trump’s hand as he blessed Washington’s and Lincoln’s.
You have to even be in Trumps body and go “Geezus, these folks know what is going on, here.”
Bannon is right, McClellan did run against Abe as RdS is today. Bereft of knowledge they are.
Beautifully stated, Steve! This is one to keep and to share.
Thank you Sundance. God bless you
Sorry, but Lincoln was a tyrant. All other Western nations got rid of slavery peacefully. And it would have happened here too eventually. The South was wrong but slavery would have died out on its own. Plus there was the the Morell tariff that the South righteously chaffed against. No,Lincoln waged war against his brethren and caused 600,000 deaths. The Union was never Perpetual. Even Jefferson said as much. Lincoln, in effect, suspended the Constitution, and forced the Southern States to stay in the Union. No different than if Britain had won the Revolutionary War. Before the Civil War DC served the States. After the civil war the States served DC. And all the problems we have now stem from that! I will not be a Lincoln apologist.
All the problems stem from the bankers who foment the seeds of wars and then lend the money to carry them out.
This is no time to be divisive …….and that is the way most will perceive these multiple posts about Lincoln. In essence you are right and I agree in part but if you take the next step………do you really think there wouldn’t have been a war eventually over boundaries? California and its gold, Nevada and its silver were such great prizes that even during the conflict the South sought to gain there.
Please get past this Lincoln thing and back to the core of the topic.
It’s hard to get past this Lincoln thing when the Republican Party proudly calls itself the “Party of Lincoln”. Lincoln was a leftist centralizing authoritarian anti-constitutionalist. Modern leftists LOVE him for what he did. Who was Hilary’s favorite President? Lincoln. Who was Barry’s favorite? Lincoln. Who was Trump’s favorite President? Lincoln. Etc. etc. etc. So if all these people, supposedly from opposite sides of the political spectrum, love Lincoln so much, this means they support his mass-murdering ways and are all on the same team. The team that is against the traditional American people. Really disgusting.
Yes, it’s a cult, the cult of Lincoln. DJT is my candidate and I’ll likely kick some $$ his way again. But let’s face it DJT is neither an historian or certainly not a theologian. LOL!
The Lincoln thing is a bit maddening indeed. Lincoln was a favorite of Karl Marx. Marx even wrote him a congratulatory letter regarding his war of aggression against the South – I could go on.
And Lincoln was a racist. He didn’t care about Blacks . That’s on the record. He only did it because it gave him moral superiority to wage the war.
I printed that and I am going to frame it. Plus, give out copies to other people !
Exactly!
They are out to extinguish us! Trump is simply standing in their way ~ don’t forget it.
I just listened to a podcaster who spent some time trashing Abe Lincoln for some petty criteria that makes sense only in his little mind.
To deny greatness has got to be some sort of mental illness.
I definitely agree, Washington, Lincoln, Trump – these are the pillars who have and who can save this country with divine guidance.
We are in this for the long haul, and we are winning.
Lincoln had flaws and so did Washington…..let’s focus on the message, today and President Trump.
“.let’s focus on the message, today and President Trump”

Out of respect for this idea I will refrain from engaging a massive truth telling about Lincoln. He was not who you are told he was, and his motives were not what you are told they were. The slobbering over Lincoln is unwarranted. In fact, Lincoln established the supremacy of the federal government over the states, inverting the concept of “federalism” and “limited federal power”. We continue to suffer under this today and it has led us where we now stand: a massive and uncontrollable national bureaucracy dictating policy and crushing resistance.
Do we agree who the enemy is? The “Deep State”? Who are they? They are the supreme federal bureaucracy, and the rich men north of Richmond, who would not exist but for Lincoln’s destruction of the sovereignty of the States.
I wish more folks would take a deep dive into what has been coined a “civil war” Lincoln’s strategy of total war rendered it impossible for the southern states to gain independence. If the US had been a party to the Geneva Convention Lincoln would more than likely have been found guilty of war crimes.
The big lie. The civil war was fought because of slavery
Yes he did. Before Lincoln we had a Republic. After Lincoln we got a corrupt deep state.
Wow, talk about a Monday morning quarterback.
Well sometimes when you look past to why the game was like it was you find out that Yes, It could’ve been a win instead of a loss. And just remember this. History is written by the victors. There is a lot of history that we’ve been lied to.
For instance, that the South started the war. Most folks, including many of our conservative brethren, know only what the government schools have told them about dishonest Abe. Sadly, most folks simply won’t read something that shakes their paradigms.
Right, it had nothing to do with a human owning another human and all their progeny in perpituity . Sarc on brothers and sisters.
Can we stop this rehashing of the Civil War of the 1860’s and focus on the Civil War of the Corporatists (slave owners) vs American citizen in the 2020’s.
No. It needs “rehashing” now more than ever. Notice that America has become virtually a totalitarian state? Most if not all our current ills can be traced back to dishonest Abe and his war of aggression on the South.
Conservatively, the one grave error of the South was perpetuating slavery. Admitted. But the Northern states and Northerners in general were as racist or moreso than their Southern brethren.
The War of Northern Aggression was just that, despite what you’ve learned in the government schools.
What amazes me is the original deep state was the slave-holding aristocracy, and they were so effective at convincing the average southerner that the war was about their liberty. They needed to be red-pilled.
We need to understand our history in order to fix it. All these comments are correct, and important. There is also a salient question to be asked. Did we even need to fight a Civil War? Would not the issue of slavery resolve itself without the war. Given the fact that the real reason the war was fought was because of states rights vs. federal government, we need to view it through the correct lens. Lincoln’s move to emancipate the slaves was tactical, not ideological.
And became “the issue” only after the North was loosing the war.
Evertrumper tells us the war had to do with slavery. Why then did Lincoln not free the slaves in the territory the Yankee armies conquered? His policies never ended slavery where his writ was law.
I am sick of the ignorant who buy into this revisionist crap and have never studied history.
Another BIG one is that the North still had slaves for YEARS AFTER the unCivil War.
Not about slavery, but again FOLLO THE MONEY (Tariffs) and who paid for the government funds (tariffs) and who got the benefit of those funds (tariffs).
Say what you will, Lincoln and Gen. Ullysus S. Grant and 2.5 million white soldiers, along with almost 200,000 African-American soldiers, ended slavery in America. The South’s need for cheap agricultural manpower did not make owning human beings right! You blur the root cause of the Civil War by making it about state rights or sovereignty, when it was actually based on the God-given, inalienable right for all men to be free. While I sense your dislike for us “Yankees”, keep in mind that if it wasn’t for us, you would all be speaking the Queen’s English, without the Southern drawl …
Gary p Smith,
Well said.
I’m forever grateful to Lincoln and Union soldiers for freeing slaves like my great-grandfather.
Respectfully, and I really mean that, ending slavery was not the North’s agenda and certainly not Lincoln’s.
I’m a Christian and my Lord forbids me from any racist bigotry and I consider my black brothers and sisters to be just that, brothers and sisters. But Lincoln was no friend of the black man and was as racist as any man back then.
I respectfully ask you to read, for instance, Thomas DiLorenzo and others …
https://mises.org/profile/thomas-j-dilorenzo
Please read Dinesh D’Souza’s Death of a Nation.
You’ll read facts that show how smart Lincoln was, how he was a pure Bible driven good guy, and yes (now adding my part) South Carolina started the Civil War.
If you believe Dishonest Abe was a Christian then I’ve got a bridge to sell you. He wasn’t. He was a politician who used biblical imagery in his speeches because he knew his audience and how to manipulate them. This isn’t just my opinion, this is the opinion of Lincoln hagiographers who love the guy and are glad his actions caused the deaths of over 1M human beings.
South Carolina started that war, just as Spain started the Spanish-American war, and the sinking of the Lusitania that totally didn’t have any American-supplied war materiel brought the US into WW1, and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was a total secret and not brought on by taunting and sanctions and FDR wanted to keep the US out of WW2, and the Gulf of Tonkin attack really really happened, and Saddam had WMDs, etc. etc. etc. Always remember all wars are banksters’ wars.
I’m shocked, shocked I tell you, that the United States government would lie to us. Shocked!
Lincoln made racist and white supremacist statements all through his life, whether he was running for political office or not because they were his true beliefs. He was “a man of his times,” as the saying goes, and anything but the racial saint that the Lincoln cult has falsely portrayed him as being.
If he had been a slave in the North, he would NOT have been freed for several years after the War. Lincoln allowed Northerners to keep their slaves.
Slavery in the south was on it’s way out whether the war was fought or not. But, with that said I’m glad the slaves were freed. The problem is the democrat party has kept them as slaves
An excellent point: the modern welfare state plantation.
The Democrats were the traditional American conservatives up until the 1890s. The Republicans have never been conservatives.
Chattel slavery: humans owned as property. Under chattel slavery, all the output of the productive labor is owned by the slave owner. Under this system, the slave owner must feed, clothe, house, and otherwise care for the slaves owned.
Human slavery is the most abhorrent thing imaginable to me. I never said anything about the cause of the so-called civil war, you imagined I did or presumed a position on my part which I never espoused. That is called a “Strawman” argument. I merely stated an accepted historic fact: Lincoln destroyed federalism and established forever the primacy of Washington DC. And here we are.
Now, governments take as much of our productive output as the want, but we have to feed, clothe, house, and care for ourselves. But not to worry, once communism is implemented the government will seize all your output AND take care of you. Sound familiar? Do you dispute this? Is this the system you want?
If you believe you’re not a slave now, try not paying your taxes and see what happens.
Peace, out.
If you were Lincoln what would you have done? Would you have stepped up to end slavery in the US?
Slavery was on its way out and Lincoln was no friend of the black man. Lincoln’s agenda was hegemony with the North in power. That’s only a small portion of the Lincoln agenda which was sordid and evil.
More abhorrent than the murder of 70 million innocent children before they even had the opportunity to take a breath on this planet? Really?
No one is making that comparison. Sundance talked about the huge transformation in the country, and our apparent inability to do much about it, in the face of an oppressive, tyrannical fed gov’t. And the question of how we got here.
The destruction of the primacy of the states, who LEND enumerated powers to the federal /General gov’t, is at the core, and it was Lincoln who did it.
It’s been a long downhill slope from there. It’s completely germane to discuss it.
Kudos and Mic drop~ Truth, no matter where it takes us…It can only turn out Good~
Well said. When you finish paying your mortgage do you own your home? Try not paying your property taxes and see what happens. Now Lincoln’s adherents are proposing taxing unrealized capital gains. They tax the air you breath. The Lincolnites are the true slave masters and always have been. Marx was a fan of Lincoln. Nuff said.
Disagree almost entirely. Slavery was on its way out and Lincoln only used it as a strategy to subjugate the South. As Ron Paul has pointed out it would have been far cheaper and decidedly less bloody had the dominate North simply bought each slave out of slavery.
We respectfully recommend you read some alternative history to counter the government school propaganda you have embibibed; as did I for many years.
You might be surprised and edified.
Yes, of course…SC, NC, Virginia (which included W. VA at the time, GA, and all those fighting in the Revolutionary War were just laggards that paid no price, right?
Indeed.
The more I learn about Lincoln the less I think he was great.
That is because we humans are always looking for or trying to convince ourselves that there is a such a thing as a righteous king leader in our fallen and decaying world. The only true one is God!
Agree, almost entirely …
Here’s some comments on the book:
“About 2/3 of the way through the book I realized this was really the rantings of someone who really doesn’t like the Republican party. Mr Dilorenzo holds Lincoln personally responsible for the actions of those who came after him. He certainly doesn’t take time to show that Democrats of the same time period were also involved in corruption.
Mr Dilorenzo goes to great lengths to show his scorn for “revisionist” authors of Lincoln’s legacy when, in fact, that is exactly what Mr Dilorenzo is. I find his conclusion that the South was maneuvered into starting the Civil War totally ludicrous. The southern leaders at Charleston knew exactly what they were doing and what the consequences of their actions were.
Was Abraham Lincoln perfect? Certainly not, but neither was he the scoundrel that Mr Dilorenzo portrays.
A question I would offer to the book’s author: What would have become of the United States if Lincoln had ignored the attack on Fort Sumter?
One aspect that the author overplays is the idea that the South was underrepresented in Congress. The South was actually overrepresented due to the 3/5 provision. At least Southern economic interests were overrepresented due to the extra votes they had in the House of Representatives. Southern economic interests had extra votes for slaves, who had absolutely no voice in government. The South wanted to be minority ruling the majority.
The cause of the Civil War was not slavery, but the economics related to slavery were very important factors.”
”Throughout this book, DiLorenzo purposefully misleads the reader by misquoting Lincoln and other sources, completely neglecting context, and leaving out vital information to understanding the truth. DiLorenzo has one objective in this book: convincing the reader that Lincoln is pure evil. He doesn’t care what he has to say, he doesn’t care if he prints the truth; all he cares about is that the reader agrees with him
Anyone with a basic understanding of the Civil War and 19th Century America could riddle the pages with counterpoints disproving virtually EVERY SINGLE point that DiLorenzo makes. I wouldn’t exaggerate; Dilorenzo flat-out lies constantly, and if he isn’t intentionally lying, he is incredibly misguided on the issues discussed. PLEASE do yourself a favor and avoid this book. If you’re being forced to read this for a class, I beg that you question his points and think critically about the topics because this book is full of extreme propaganda. It is awful.”
Hogwash. Here’s a detailed analysis contrary to your Lincoln Cultists:
https://mises.org/library/dilorenzo-and-his-critics-lincoln-myth
Here’s another…
I read The Real Lincoln once and was, in some regards, impressed with the number of sources and the style of writing. Still, it bugged me because so much that I have read did not allow his pejoratives to ring true. Therefore, I began investigating its sources in detail, one by one, before coming to a conclusion. I have found that The Real Lincoln is one the slickest example of half truths, anachronisms, and unfair assaults I have ever read. So incensed am I that I am preparing a book to counter Mr. DiLorenzo’s disgraceful rewrite of history.
Obviously, I can’t go into great length here, but let’s look at two examples.
1) Several times DiLorenzo scathes Lincoln for ordering the arrest of Clement L. Vallandigham for making an anti-administration speech before Congress in August 1861. That is false on two counts. First, Ambrose Burnside alone was responsible for ordering Vallandigham’s arrest, a fact well documented but not appearing in Mr. DiLorenzo’s bibliography. Lincoln knew nothing about the arrest order until it had been consummated. Second, the event that led to the arrest was not Vallandigham’s August 1861 speech to Congress but a May 1863 speech that he gave in Ohio. All this appears several times in the Official Records and contemporaneous newspapers.
2) DiLorenzo cites a number of Republican newspapers that ostensibly criticized Lincoln’s policies. Except when you read the entire article (one from the New York Times, for example) you find exactly the OPPOSITE is true, that DiLorenzo only cited that portion of the article that paraphrased the opposition’s thoughts, not subsequent paragraphs where they savaged Lincoln’s opponents. This happens in many other cases such as making historian David Herbert Donald appear to be on the DiLorenzo ticket of Lincolnism when full cites would have revealed something totally different.
Either Mr. DiLorenzo did not do his homework, or he is outright lying. His obvious purpose is not providing a cogent look at Abraham Lincoln but beating the drum for his modern-day libertarian economic viewpoints. Only the purest form of the Jeffersonian economic and political model matters to him, and any deviation from it is tantamount to tyranny. While one may argue the point of minimal government interference, DiLorenzo blasts Lincoln with one pejorative after another and gives but lip service to Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal. DiLorenzo even goes so far as to blame Lincoln for Reconstruction, as if the dead president were somehow able to lead events from the grave. Radical Republicans are responsible for Reconstruction, and Lincoln was never a Radical Republican, much less a live one.
I could say much more, but it will have to wait for publication where I can expound at length. The saddest part of this book is that too many believe this drivel.
I doubt you know who Murray Rothbard is, but here’s a comment by him regarding your god A. Lincoln:
“Lincoln was a typical example of the humanitarian with the guillotine: a familiar modern ‘reform liberal’ type whose heart bleeds for and yearns to ‘uplift’ remote mankind, while he lies to and treats abominably actual people whom he knew.” —Murray Rothbard
Here’s another comment…
“The “real Lincoln” is an ogre—that is, according to Thomas DiLorenzo. In his The Real Lincoln, DiLorenzo has drawn a two-dimensional caricature of Lincoln as a thoroughly wicked man. DiLorenzo grabs pieces of evidence and arguments here and there that fit his narrative and skips over the inconvenient facts and arguments that don’t suit. He has hit the side of the barn with his arrow, and then drawn his target circles around the impact point. This is inept scholarship or dishonesty or both. It is certainly intellectual laziness. His picture of Lincoln is no more valid than that of those who worship Lincoln as a faultless paragon; they gloss over or ignore his shortcomings, mistakes, weaknesses, and unattractive quirks. But careful scholarship, such as Ronald C. White’s admirable A. Lincoln: A Biography, draws a man of flesh and blood, truly three-dimensional, with many faults and many strengths, who, when faced with our nation tearing asunder over slavery, preserved our country, led the fight to the elimination of slavery, agonized over the human cost in lives and pain on both sides of the conflict, provided a model for gracious reconciliation for the losing side that his assassination tragically obscured, and articulated our Founders best vision of ourselves as a people as he gave us the finest speeches ever penned by an American leader.
Of all the troubling aspects of DiLorenzo’s book, the one that bothers me the most is the blithe way in which he faults Lincoln for not letting the wayward South go. This shows such a cavalier attitude toward our country and an appalling ignorance of what the Founding Fathers worked so hard to create and pass on to us. (See the Library of Congress’ documentary exhibit, “Religion and the Founding of the American Republic,”[…]). While living the good life as a high-ranking professor at a well-known American university, Dr. Thomas J. DiLorenzo must be clueless about what Lincoln meant when he proclaimed in his 1862 message to Congress that America is “the last best hope of earth.”
The Real Lincoln is a mean little book by a mean little mind and a mean little heart.
Howard R. Killion, Ph.D., history, Duke University”
SWRichmond:
I am tired of the deification of Lincoln, a tyrant with the blood of a million Americans on his hands. To ratify the Constitution three states demanded and received the guarantee that all states could leave the Union if they wished; whenever they wished; for whatever reason they wished. Lincoln knew this but driven by his lust for power he unleashed an unnecessary war.
This tyrant imprisoned without trial over 50,000 yankees. He closed down newspapers that didn’t support him. He allowed the summary execution of civilians for whatever reason his cohorts could muster. He endorsed the theft, destruction of private property that had no connection with the war. He declared secession was illegal and then had West Virginia succeed from Virginia.
This monster refused the exchange of prisoners, even the maimed, drummer boys, the elderly. He condemned thousands to starvation though he could have fed his prisoners. The Nuremburg accords would have judged him a war criminal.
No Jackson, Jefferson, Madison were far greater than Lincoln. No other president save Wilson has so much innocent blood on his hands.
True, and it was legal and lawful what the South did. That makes Lincoln a treasonous traitor and warmonger.
When they tried Jefferson Davies for treason, they found he followed ALL LAWS and the Constitution when the South seceded.
The trial also found that Jefferson Davies was innocent of treason for the secession. This is because He FOLLOWED THE CONSTITUTION, unlike Lincoln who also tried to use habeas corpus to suspend the Constitution. The Constitution IS the very framework and foundation of the federal government. Remove it and there is NO federal government.
So who was the criminal?
The Constitution doesn’t care about your feelings or ideology.
US Constitution Article VI Section 2
This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.
The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of law constitutes the law of the land. The U. S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and any statute, to be valid, must be in agreement. It is impossible for any law which violates the Constitution to be valid.
“All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.” Marbury vs Madison, 5 US (2 Cranch), 137, 174, 176, (1803)
Jeff Davis never stood trial. The Yankees were scared he would be found innocent and thus let him go after several years of imprisonment.
All excellent points in my view. Unrestrained total warfare on civilians in the South by the monster Sherman is ignored by the isolators of A. Lincoln.
I agree with your comments and re
Ad an excellent book that outlines your points by Thomas DeLorenzo (I believe).
His assassination impacted how he is remembered dramatically.
Well said! I believe the same.
Perhaps some of what you say regarding Lincoln bears so further examination, but he is revered mostly for keeping the Union together and freeing the slaves – both at the cost of his own life. The true father of the deep state was FDR, who through expansionist growth of the Federal Leviathan, and incompetent economic management during the Great Depression, which honest economists would say caused it to last several years longer than it would have otherwise. Big Government really took root after Roosevelt, who came 16 presidencies after Lincoln.
They are human, just like you and I. We have flaws and make mistakes, but that doesn’t derail the love for the country and its citizens.
If we turn a blind eye to fraudulent elections it will end America. Election fraud started a long time ago. Well, not that long ago …
https://mises.org/library/origins-american-vote-fraud
There has always been a degree of election fraud. The difference now is the amount of fraud committed, the orchestration and the disregard for the visibility of the crime. It’s in your face and what are you going to do about it?
Like my ancestor John Paul Jones, “I have not yet begun to fight!”
Maybe the rehash is necessary although I’m not sure anyone could accurately forecast how things would have turned out if we had become the Divided States of America.
I can’t very well picture me being young and growing up citing the pledge of allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the flags of the Divided States of America and to the Republics for which it stands. 10? nations under God with Liberty and Justice for some.
It seems Lincoln violated the authority under the Constitution to secede. Yet at the same time reconciled the nation with the Declaration of Independence. All having certain inaliable rights seems to me to be a fundamentally important concept.
I wonder how differently our response to Hitler and Japan would have been under the Divided States of America.
On the other hand, it probably would have made it easier for us to secede now, which may be what ends up being required to overcome the facism we are currently experiencing. So we may end up as the Divided States of America after all.
That horrible pledge was shoved down the throats of Southerners and free blacks. It was penned by the communist Francis Bellamy.
Here’s the Bellamy salute. Look familiar?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellamy_salute
Why would it be called the “Divided States of America”? The USA would still exist. A separate country called the Confederate States of America would exist. You would only be a citizen of one of them. Not all 10 you theorized about.
To deny greatness has got to be some sort of mental illness.
That particular mental illness is pride, covetousness, jealousy, and envy, the green-eyed monster that inhabited Bolsheviks and led to the slaughter of millions of Russians, half of them Christian. That same spirit inhabits our own Deep State, Ruling Class.
Jordan Peterson has said, the history of Communism has shown that it’s not that they love the little people so much as they hate the wealthy. They are driven by resentment.
The hard left in this country are driven by grievances and resentment. But also from a hyper narcissistic view of their own moral superiority.
These are extremely sick people.
Peterson is only partly correct. When we dig into the evils of that regime we find horrifyingly brutal attempts at killing the souls of Eastern Orthodox Christians; the pretty wives and daughters of resented males seized and turned over as sex slaves to depraved animalistic males; children of mainly Christians seized and incarcerated within Detdomas where through inculcation of total depravity and hatred of God, family, and country, their souls were hardened. More can be said, but these few examples should suffice.
Extremely sick people with an insidious nature.
Communism is feudalism glossed with compassion. Or at least that’s how it’s sold. But it ceases to work when the productive stop producing.
A more accurate interpretation of American history is that the “founding” occurred in 1776, and that the authentic founding fathers were Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, and George Mason.
Perhaps we could consider that the “founding” occurred when the Mayflower Compact was created by oppressed people who obeyed God by coming to the New World to establish a colony where they could live according to Biblical precepts.
Those who followed did much the same, enabling Biblical concepts to be the foundation of our Constitutional documents for those generations understood the depraved capacity of the human soul.
The checks and balances established in our documents have served this nation well and will again at Her restoration.
IMO, 1776 could not have occured without Magna Carta, the English Civil War and the Reformation all paving the way to the Mayflower Compact.
God plays the long game.
Yup. the Pilgrims were almost wiped out their first year in America because of their depraved socialist beliefs. The fanaticism of the Pilgrims caused nothing but dissent in New England and misery. The close mindedness of these fanatics lives on in modedrn day Leftists, only state is their god.
Remember that after the initial use of a commune when first establishing the settlement, they moved to the Biblical model of personal property and personal responsibility.
Their colony was not a failure.
Neither were the Puritan colonies that followed.
Indeed, they were a spectacular success given what they were up against.
Glad you pointed out that personal property and personal responsibility are biblical. I would also say that the biblical view of government is very limited in the punishment of evil-doers and encouragement of the righteous. I would take an America modeled on Calvin’s Geneva any day …
By the way, created from nothing, love your scaena nomen eius …
I am definitely not a fan of A. Lincoln but to deny that he was not a pivotal figure in American History is ignorance of history. The US would not have become the world power we are today if Lincoln had not lead the North to victory.
I think we would have become at least three countries, each with a distinctive strength. At this point, it might still be a good idea. Although eventually the wokester nation would have to invade the patriots and we’d have no choice but to slap them down.
That is unknown and a complete folly to state as fact, which I can say is full lies due to the strength and power of these United States came from the people and NOT government which can only steal.
Margaret Thatcher covered these as well.
“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
“Do you know that one of the great problems of our age is that we are governed by people who care more about feelings than they do about thoughts and ideas?”
“I think we’ve been through a period where too many people have been given to understand that if they have a problem, it’s the government’s job to cope with it. ‘I have a problem, I’ll get a grant.’ ‘I’m homeless, the government must house me.’ They’re casting their problem on society. And, you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It’s our duty to look after ourselves and then, also to look after our neighbor. People have got the entitlements too much in mind, without the obligations. There’s no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation.”
“No one would remember the Good Samaritan if he’d only had good intentions; he had money as well.”
It is NOT the government’s “job” to protect us, but to keep US free so we can protect ourselves, including from a tyrannical government.
“A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government .” – George Washington
Let US not forget the words used to express the need and the apology for the Revolution from tyranny, which no other country has done in such a way that those that fought and won their liberties gave the power to their fellow citizens rather than usurp for another tyranny.
What utter hogwash Richard brays. How did destroying the most productive section of the nation for sixty years contribute to American greatness. How did causing a division that lasted for decades solve anything? Lincoln is a pivotal figure in American history just as Obama and Biden are today. Both have fostered unending divisions and hatreds, as did Lincoln.
The problem with “the most productive section of the nation” was it was stuck in the past. The future was the manufacturing economy of the North. All of the South’s capital was tied up in slaves. While this system made a lot of money for a handful of large plantation owners, their time was running out. When the rural South went to war with the Industrial North in spite of the incredible bravery and ingenuity of the Confederate fighting forces it was always too little and too late. Northern Industry simply overwhelmed them because of the inherent strength and efficiency of an Industrial society. Rightly or wrongly Lincoln preserved the US as a whole and ended slavery (a good thing no matter how badly done), which resulted in the US as a whole becoming the Industrial powerhouse that ended WWI, won WWII and won the cold war with Communism under Reagan. That is why I say Lincoln was a pivotal President in US history.
Rudyard Kipling’s “Jungle Book” offers a great metaphor for what we’re up against: the monkey people, vain and hateful and despised by all the other animals. They live in an abandoned city that they did not build, and as it falls into ruin they congratulate themselves. “We are great. We are free. We are wonderful. We are the most wonderful people in all the jungle! We all say so, and so it must be true.”
When they see something they want, they steal it. Or spoil it. Or try to force others to get it for them.
Nice point sir.
Disagree almost entirely.
How in holy * can you see Lincoln as similar. He made war against states.
He decided and established the that “United States” is no longer a plural (as intended by the founders) but a singular. AND that he would kill as many Americans as necessary to make it so.
One person cannot change the country. You need a party and we do not have that party. Trump if elected is gone after 4 years then what if no party? Back to the Uniparty
Our leaders have made a fundamental departure from the separation of powers designed by our founders to keep the government at bay. But, today’s government is not the same as it was when the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787. We are now a nation controlled by elites through the various bureaucracies and agencies of the federal system who have passed many spurious case laws which are the direct result of Lincoln’s economic takeover war to consolidate federal power, a war on state sovereignty based on the false pretext of eliminating slavery. Our form of government changed from a “bottom-up” system in which the states functioned without interference by the feds to a “top-down” autocracy. The 3 branches established by the founders were a firewall of protection from federal totalitarianism. After the war on the South, the states became districts and “subjects” of Fedzilla which has been chipping away at our freedoms ever since. After 1865 we were no longer a constitutional republic. The short list of federal powers granted by the states to the 3 branches of the federal government in Article 1, Section 8 were expanded by fiat after the war, and due to revisionist history, people today wonder why their freedoms are being diminished at warp speed. Physical slavery was converted into political oppression by a federal monster which now has enslaved us all. Great Britain eliminated slavery the right way. They paid the slave holders for their slaves throughout their colonies, amended their laws, and unlike Lincoln, they did not kill 650,000 of their citizens to do it. There is always a right way and wrong way of doing things. Because of Lincoln’s federal power grab, our founding document has been relegated to lip service only, and is essentially a dead letter. The road back to restoring our nation has to begin by revisiting the real cause of our loss of freedoms, i.e. the growth of big government, and departure from the Judeo-Christian foundation that began when Moses’ father-in-law Jethro established the bottom-up model of representative local self-government which God approved in Exodus 18.
Excellent
You’re so right. And whom do they have for their heroes? Mass murderers like Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Ortega, and Castro. And today their standard-bearers are failed, despicable buffoons like Joe Biden, a serial plagiarist, liar, braggart, grifter, and fraud who sniffs children, gropes women, sells out his country, and takes showers with his teenaged daughter.
Mental illness indeed!
I did say “with divine guidance”; those actions that were done with such guidance are those to which I am referring. I am not praising every single action or statement by any of these men, just those that saved the country by divine guidance.
Sheesh!
Thanks….. Never bought this brand and now for sure Never will
Good Grief !
